Vamos por partes ... la comida es simplemente espectacular... delicioso. Los tacos de cochinita de lechon, de pavo y la sopa de lima son espectalulares. Realmente todo esta deli, en cuanto al servicio un poquito tardado pero muy atentos dw verdad... vale la pena y el ambiente hay mucho que mejorar,vale la pena poner mejores mesas y mejores sillas y obvio mas limpieza en general

Great place for a quick lunch. Food is delicious, service is also fast ( even when busy). Be sure to get in early as during lunch time it gets busy with some wait time. Also, try some of their local drinks ! Very reasonably priced and highly suggest dropping in for an authentic experience away from the tourist areas.

Delicious, great prices, quick service, and one of the best cochinita pibil of our trip. The recado negro was a bit dry, not my favorite here. Carne asada is pork here (vs beef in the states) and it was delicious. The empanadas are fried up fresh and made with all corn masa, no wheat flour.

I came with a single mission to Parque Santiago. I needed my "fix" of Relleno Negro, a Yucatecan specialty. I was not disappointed. The flavor was spot on, the meatball was perfect and the broth was as black as the moonless night. Charred peppers never tasted so good.

Very delicious, authentic, and affordable. The service is good and the food comes quick. We had the torta cochinta pibil for lunch and went back the next day for the same thing! It was closed the second day even though Google said open, so that’s one thing to keep in mind.

wonderful place, there are a lot of places in this city where you can lechon, cochinita. but la lupita was even featured in a netflix tacos special, the lechon taco is soft and so rich in flavor you’ll need some 6 at least to get the hang of it. i love the fact that it’s inside an actual mercado and walking by yo have more options! like tetiz

Best meal we had in Merida. We waited for probably 15-20 mins in line before getting a table as this is the place to go! We got the cochinita pibil tacos , relleno negro tacos and cochinita pibil torta. They were all so flavourful and delicious. The pibil is so Smokey and sweet.

Did I come here because of all the hype this place gets? Yes, but let me tell you it lives up to the hype. I ordered a Torta con lechón, it was fantastic! They bake their own bread, wood-fired just like the lechón so it's fresh and tasty and it's perfect with the pork. I also got a Cochinita Pibil Panucho and a Salbute de relleno negro. Both were amazing as well, however relleno negro was my favorite, it's such an unexpected taste, it's just great. Come to La Lupita, you won't be disappointed, it's worth the trip and the wait.

By now, I'm sure you've seen this restaurant on the Netflix show and read all the reviews. So I'm going to tell you the secret things to get that are unbelievable. First, get the orange juice. This might be the best orange juice I have ever had in my life. I know. I know, I came here for the tacos but I can't stop thinking about how amazing the orange juice was. It was freshly squeezed and ice cold and oh so sweet. Secondly, skip the actual Taco tortilla. Whatever meat that you're going to get, get it on the salbute. These are deep fried doughy corn tortillas that are crunchy on the outside and doughy and soft on the inside. They're so good. You can get tacos anywhere but getting these salbutes will change your life. Third, this place is obviously known for their cochinita pibil but I found that the relleno negro (turkey meat) was so much more tastier and fulfilling with so much flavor packed in. So in closing, get the orange juice and get the salbutes with your choice of meat.

✅TAQUERIA LA LUPITA ( Mercado de Santiago, Merida, Mexico) Merida was the last stop of our first-ever Mexico tour and, after watching Taco Chronicles on Netflix where La Lupita was featured, I was obsessed. I WANT TO EAT THERE. Hence, I decided that the final exclamation point of our trip was to find out for myself why - out of all taco restaurants- La Lupita was chosen by Netflix. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Look at my photo ... tender, juicy, tasty pieces of slow roasted pork, add to that chopped onions, fresh red tomatoes, cilantro on a bed of soft shell tacos and , for its crowning glory, a generous piece of perfectly cooked crunchy pork skin. Plus squeeze some green lime and add some spicy green tomato salsa. The flavors and textures explode in my palate. I close my eyes, inhale ... ahhhh....hmmm... it's soooo good. HEAVEN. Perfect combination: delicious food at very reasonable prices. We Filipinos have a love affair with pork skin - the most coveted part of a lechon ( roasted pork on a spit) , what you cannot help pinch off, what you hoard on your plate😂. The other thing is chicharron , crispy pork rind; and in Mexico, the size of the chicharron is jaw dropping. It is not surprising to find lechon and chicharron in Mexico and the Philippines ( both former colonies of Spain ) considering 250 years of the Galleon Trade between Manila and Acapulco between 1565 - 1815. I am thankful for this connection, which has led me all the way to the Yucatan Peninsula to enjoy tacos at Taqueria La Lupita.

It’s incredibly popular and if you don’t come first thing in the morning they may have sold out on some of the more popular items on the menu! Some of juiciest and most succulent meat I have had was here at Taqueria La Lupita - delicious food with generous servings of meat. For how busy it was, being realistic, I was happy with the level and friendliness of the service and the speed at which I was looked after.

Went here Wednesday at around 8:45am The place was busy but I was able to find a seat (sit at the table with blue cloth) waitress andris? She was very nice and Took my order. I got a Lechon Al Horno Torta and a Coke. The wait was not long at all. The torta was the best I had so far and the meat was succulent. Would definitely recommend to give this place a try. 10/10

Mi favorito fue el panucho de lechón, suave la carne y jugosa, si le agregas habanero más rico aún , la masa del maíz crocante. Los tacos bien servidos con suficiente carne. Esta ubicado dentro de un mercado, limpio, hay ventiladores y donde puedas lavarte las manos, también hay dispensadores de alcohol en gel. Dato: 7:30 am no hay cola 8:10 cola para sentarse en mesa . Los tacos de cochinita muy ricos, un sabor diferente y no grasosa, las empanadas de queso de bola con chaya super!! La atención de la muchacha muy amable!!

La atención de Genesis en la entrada fue muy buena y amable, me explicó que tenía que esperar en la fila hasta que llamaran mi número ya que habia gente esperando y cuando me asignó una mesa lo hizo muy amablemente, el tiempo de espera fue de 10 a 15 min asi que hay que tener paciencia. La mesera Aitana fue muy rápida y amable y se acercó a avisarme con tiempo cuando la cocina iba a cerrar. La mesera Laura igual fue muy eficiente y amable, le pedí una salsa y me la brindo rápido y sin problemas. La comida estaba deliciosa sobre todo el relleno negro y las empanadas tenían buena cantidad de relleno. Un buen lugar y muy económico para comer en un mercado de Mérida.

El servicio es muy express, los que te atienden no ponen atención cuando los llamas y es de estar buscando su atencion. El ambiente es de mercado totalmente, mucha gente se acerca a venderte cosas, el ruido predomina. La comida es de muy buen sabor, esperaba un punch mas extraordinario por sus recomendaciones pero sin duda es un lugar que no debes dejar pasar, recomendaciones mayor la torta de cochinita o lechón, sobre los tacos, la tortilla es de mediana o mala calidad, se rompe muy facil

Se hizo famosa por youtuber, la comida está bien, atienden rápido, muy amables, sinembargo les falta un poco de sabor, los precios son buenos, la porción es buena. Variedad buena. Lo mejor, la cochinita, el relleno bueno, el lechón le falta algo. Si te encuentras serca pasa, si no hay luchas opciones en Mérida con sabores similares.

Lo mejor son los panuchos y salbutes de relleno negro. La cochinita está 4 de 5. El servicio es un poco tardado, los precios están promedio con los demás lugares. Hay suficiente espacio para grupos grandes. Y también tienen servicio de entrega a domicilio. Hay estacionamiento disponible en la zona. El lugar está agradable.

Rica comida yucateca. Es el único local donde uno debe hacer fila para sentarse a comer. El servicio es regular debido a la cantidad de gente que siempre hay ahí.

Fue el primer lugar en el que probé comida tradicional yucateca y fue buen lugar, pero durante mis vacaciones probé lugares con mucho mejor cochinita y relleno negro, la atención fue regular, tardaban mucho en ir a tu lugar a tomar la orden y no estaba lleno. El chocomilk si fue un 10/10.

They made vegan tacos upon request but since it’s a very traditional spot, all the rest of the dishes were meat + cheese heavy. Not many options for a vegan. Other than that, super authentic though.

I had mixed feelings about the place. The food was pretty good, but they were so overwhelmingly busy that we had to wait a long time, then got the wrong food brought to us twice. For the panucho with turkey and relleno negro, it was really good overall, but the turkey itself was SO plain. The salbut with cochinita was good, but not the 5-star cochinita I was hoping for. The standout was the torta de carne asada, which I only got because they were out of lechón. The beef was amazing.

El servicio es muy lento, tardaron 30 minutos para emplatar 6 tacos y 2 tortas de cochinita? Y la verdad es que la cochinita prefiero la de hecelchakán.

Sobrevalorado, producto de redes sociales. Hay mejores cochinas y alimentos en otros sitios de Mérida. La atención lenta y sin preocupación por el cliente. El relleno negro bastante bueno pero hasta ahí.

La comida es increíble, de verdad vale la pena ir. Lo que sí me pareció que pueden mejorar es su servicio de meseros. Algunos son groseros y te ignoran, lo había visto en los reviews y lo comprobé en estas dos visitas que hice. Te atienden como si te hicieron ellos un favor, el dueño debe de ver eso para que su negocio sea aún mejor. Vale la pena ir aún con los meseros que tienen. Se salvó una señorita rubia que atendía, ella si le ponía ganas. Los demás no.

Para conocer esta bien porque es un lugar popular pero sin duda elegiría otro antes de regresar aquí.

Posiblemente sea una bonita experiencia “autóctona” para turistas. Pero siendo Mexicano y conociendo la comida local, me parece que es un buen lugar para comer, antes de ir al trabajo, aunque la experiencia, calidad y servicio están muy lejos de las casi 5 estrellas que le dan en Google. No nos acercaron salsas, limas, salero ni otros complementos. Un agua de chaya simplemente no salió en todo el tiempo que estuvimos. En lo que a mi respecta, hay mil opciones mejores.

We went to go have lunch here after reading how good it is. Firstly it is located INSIDE the “ food court”, not on the outside as there is still a La Lupita sign above a closed roll up door! We ordered chicken tacos and poc chuc with cucumber drink. Food arrived fairly quick. Overall the food, flavour was fine. Atmosphere ok because, well, it’s kinda fast food. Maybe it’s a 4 star rating for a 3 star restaurant.

Llevo viniendo al mercadito 10 años, a comer de todos los puestos. la fila de espera a la Lupita siempre a sido larga, pero esta ocasión fue descomunal, venimos aquí por tradición y por que la verdad es rico pero esta ocasión me decepcionó. El personal te atiende de malas, mal encarados, cuando te traen la comida te apresuran a comer por que obvio tienen gente esperando por las mesas. La comida es rica pero esta ocasión sentimos que no fue lo esperado como años anteriores. Hay otros puestitos que están más ricos y sin necesidad de caras y esperas larguísimas.

I used to get lechon, and pavo en escabeche(tart brined turkey), they changed the recipe and it’s not that good anymore. They also switched all their salsas from naranja agria to vinegar, which is gross. If you like a smokey cochinita pibil though it’s not terrible.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. 3 years ago I ate here for the first time. And 2 years ago I went back —the food was without question the best lechón and Cochinita in Merida. Sadly, those days are gone. The food today is average, well prepared and with okay seasoning ( before it was 5stars, today 2.5 to 3.0 stars today ). There used to be a line to sit down, now there are plenty of empty tables—that is the only unsolicited improvement that this restaurant has seen in the past 2 years, but it is an unwelcome one. The service is awful, inexperienced rude teenagers that don’t know how to manage a table, nor do they care for it. They seem bothered when you ask for information or inquire about your plate; they can’t serve all plates a the same time, it is also sorely apparent that no one is running this restaurant as there is no communication or coordination on sight. The prices are still affordable, but they have jacked up the price significantly from before. ( from about 15 pesos, to 25 pesos per taco, an understandable change since this is a macroeconomic event that is outsides a Taqueria’s fault) In short, the charm this lovely venue once had is all but gone. You will probably leave wondering why someone recommended this place (sorry, it might have been me before today). My recommendation is to ask locals for a better spot—this place is in its late deteriorating phase of its business life and no longer worth the visit. Sorry Lupita, you were my favorite must-go spot, but today I fear was my last visit.
