The best french fries I've ever had. Hands down. Steak cut, crispy on the outside, creamy inside. I don't know what sort of magic they practice, but their fries are better than the ones at dedicated french fry places I've tried. The steak, cheese and shrimp (over fries) is a winner. If, like me, you hate nacho cheese sauce, you can leave it off and have just the white cheddar. Healthy it is not, but it certainly is tasty! I almost gave 4 stars, b/c I've tried a couple of their non-fry options and I can't say I was impressed. Service is friendly enough, but they open bizarrely late for a place serving typical lunch fare. Still, fries this good deserve the full 5. It's junk food at its finest.

We stopped in got some Fish & Chips (cat fish) and Onion rings and soda. As a very picky Aussie who loves good Fish & Chips most stores here in the US I’d score at a 6/10 but this little hole in the wall shop it’s easy an 8/10 the chips where good size the fish was average size for all the US stores I’ve tried but this little store the batter was crispy and the fish cooked perfectly the onion rings where good the Chips where very good but I feel a few extra minutes in the oil would have made them a perfect Crispy outer and hot and fluffy

No one who goes here wants to tell other people about this place. That’s because it’s always crowded and the food does take a bit of time to make so be patient. Family owned and very nice people. Don’t be rude to them like I have seen some people being. Again, be patient! The food will take a little bit of time, on average about 10-20 minutes. It will be worth it, trust me. They don’t have space to eat inside so get your food and walk to the Lake or eat it at Baggy’s or Parkside Lounge.

Love the shrimp and steak cheese fries! Usually don't care for shrimp on my food but they made it really good! I only work a block away and my regret is not trying this place out years ago.

The food was delicious and the prices were super inexpensive. I got the steak fries and hubby got the fish sandwich and the favoring was amazing. I think I found me new place.

lots of choices for your freshly cooked fish... cod, catfish, snapper, etc... plenty of malt vinegar for the chips... just one thing i would improve. the tartar sauce was terrible. but hey... i ate it, and i smiled.

The lady there is so nice! L&S is a mom and pop shop, that has a variety of foods. Burritos, Tacos, Steak Cheese Fries, and Lots of seafood as well. I believe the couple are Korean, and if you want to custom a few meals like mixing up the menu a bit, please let them know, because they don't mind.

Omg I love this place. Wanted cheese steak and shrimp fries so I googled places near me and gave it a try... I went back the next day for more... don't judge me lol.. It's one of my favorite new sports now!!

If you are in the area be sure to stop by, they have a good variety of food to choose from, and the prices are decent. Service was good and quick, and is down the street from Lake Merritt. I will definitely be going back.

Got the shrimp and steak fries (substitute for tater tots +$1, jalepeno +$.50). Big portion of food. Plenty of cheese and steak. Fair amount of shrimp for the price. Tots were actually crispy; was worried they would be mushy. Don't expect super friendly service as the people seem very busy and don't speak great English. One star off for price at $14. Would give 5 stars if it was $10-11. Recommended.

Tiger Prawns were deveined and cooked perfectly. The fries were crispy and served piping hot. I will definitely be back to try their other menu items. I wish they had garlic fries and a spicy mayo / tartar sauce to put on top.

Steak & bacon fries hella good. I grabbed a few of my daughters shrimp because they gave her about 8 of them.

The steak fries were pretty tasty. I didnt too much care for the cheese sauce. Burger was well done and delish.

I was surpised but thoroughly enjoyed the gumbo i ordered. I believe Omar severed me, and said this is special you will like. I totally enjoyed.

They prawn fries are very delicious, I always get onion and cilantro on mine to give it that pop.

The meals are alil higher in cost than I recall a couple years back, but the food is still good!!!

Call to verify they are open and their hours!! Hadn't been here in a while and the last couple times my daughter and I drove from Tracy they were close when they claimed open. But this time we called and verified. Ordered the BBQ chicken & Shrimp steak fries and they were everything we remembered them to be and so worth the drive!!

Neighborhood hole-in-the-wall joint with the best junk foods. Steak and shrimp cheese fries is my go-to and exactly what it sounds like: steak fries smothered in cheese, topped with thinly sliced beef, grilled black tiger shrimp, topped with sour cream and jalapeños (they’ll ask if you want to add it, and you definitely do). Call ahead for pickup as the space is small and there’s not really seating — a few tables usually with folks waiting for food. You might need to call a couple of times as they are always busy and may not pickup the phone. Great stop from Lake Merritt (one block away). Can’t eat here too much now (health reasons, perhaps ironically), but service was fast, the food consistently good, with friendly staff who seem to work their tails off.

The food was amazing as always. I don't know what they do differently than other places, but man it's SO GOOD!!!! My only hang up this visit is that the cashier just kept coughing while ringing me up and handing me my food.

I love L&S probably one of thenl best steak and cheese fries I've had. The only thing is there is no point in calling in, my food is never ready when I arrive. Other then that my food is always delicious.

Ordered way ahead of time. Got there to pick up and they hadn't even started it... They did make up for it by making sure I was at least the next one served but still had to wait .

GOT THE STEAK AND SHRIMP FRIES THEY WERE AITE FRIES WAS A LITTLE HARD AND THE STEAK COULD OF BEEN SEASONED MORE I GIVE THE STEAK BOUT 5/10

The food is cool... the steak fries were good but a little greasy. But the service is horrible! First off, they never answer the phone... then when you get the off chance to actually make a phone order, once you get there they start cooking it! So what's the point of the phone and telling me 10-15 mins?? And you can never be sure if their open when they say they are. Then it's a mom and pop kinda dive so it's tiny... really tiny. Also, everyone there is handling money AND food...

My review is skewed. I ordered one of their loaded fries, but I'm not personally a fan of the liquid cheese they use (I don't like any kind of them). Aside from that and you are okay with that (they use a mix of cheeses), it is fine.

Variety of foods from tacos to burgers to chicken wings etc. Very fast service but the line is some what long. You can always order ahead if they are not too busy to answer the phone. If your looking for a quick bite to satisfy hunger check them out.

I just bought some chicken wedges from this place and it didn't taste like the ones we normally get from here very disappointed. It tasted like they were reheated definitely not fresh at all.

Came in at 8:10 and was denied service despite other patrons picking up food, told they were closed. Need to update yelp and Google pages with correct closing hours of operation

Ordered an ExLarge size of fish (15 pieces ) which came out to around $40.00. The portion size of the fish was nugget size. Completely ridiculous price for that size of fish. I will NOT be returning. For comparison size, this is a 1fl. oz ( 30ml) Bottle of vitamin D3 drops I bought from Sprouts.

She gave my money back cus I asked her to wash her hands after shetook my money an then went an grabbed my fries by hand. I asked her can u wash ur hands first u just took my cash...she didn’t wash her hands at all instead she got mad an gave my money back to leave No hair nets an no wash of hands means bad business

Their food is TRASH! I got a burrito that tasted like it had wasabi in it! Their tarter sauce is nasty, the mom is rude, the daughter is nice. But the steak and fries is definitely trash.

Wasn't original/British style fish recipe .Chips/fries were cold . There was no malt vinigar . Tarter sauce was replaced with plain mayo . Anyone that tells you their fish and chips( L&L 's)are original and great , needs their head examined thoroughly ! Knock off or ghetto style fish & chips !

Fries taste like fish. Catfish nuggets taste terrible. Too much oil. Saw an ant crawling on the cash register. Turn around find a real place.

They provided horribLe service. I Left the store mad, not happy. The fries taste Like oiL that's been sittin' in the pantry for 3 months. I'm never eating at this place again.

Got two burritos. One with sour cream and one without. The one with was like 90% sour cream and the one without was extremely dry. Neither had any flavor. We got veg and chicken super burritos. Some of the worst I’ve had.
