Great food, great service. They were about to close and they let us in, fed us the greatest food, wine, desert and music was wonderful. This is what I wanted to experience in Italy
Giordano is the ultimate host. Always attentive and with a ready smile. The food is simple but tasty and honest. Can’t miss this place!
Dining at this osteria is a truly memorable experience. There’s no menu – just a generous selection of local delicious served with delicious local wine, followed by a rich and satisfying lasagna, and finished with a perfectly brewed espresso and dessert. All of this comes at a fixed price of just €25 per person. We loved it so much we came back the next day. A must-visit spot when you're in Lake Orta!

Visit at this osteria - that’s an experience! Great atmosphere with blues music in the background (and live dedicated harmonica concert from the owner), no menu, just various antipasti served with tasty wine, and in the final delicious lasagna, all finished with espresso. All this for fixed price of 23 euros per person. You can’t miss this spot while visiting Lago D’Orta :))

This is a fantastic place to eat dinner. I’m not sure whether there’s a menu, but don’t worry. Just eat whatever you are presented with and rejoice that such great food can be enjoyed in such a great place. Beans: tasted of beans; tomatoes: tasted of tomatoes; salumi: tasted of heaven. As good as food gets. Anywhere.
What a beautiful place with lovely people! You get served the menu of the day for a more than fair price. The food was delicious and everything very well prepared. Highly recommended . 10/10
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant last week while on vacation. We came across it randomly while driving around looking for something to eat. I first noticed the restaurant was empty while walking up to the building the owner greeted us telling us immediately what he had to offer to serve. He said he had a little bit of vegetables, and a little bit of fruit and good wine. He was not at all specific about that he was going to serve nor did he offer us a menu, but I felt like whatever he was about to prepare for us was going to be amazing. And I was right! We sat at our table outside for about 10 mins before he began to bring out small portions of different dishes: sliced pickled onions, mixed peas and carrots, diced cantaloupe, spinach with garlic, grilled sausage links, seasoned steamed cauliflower, sliced seasoned tomatoes, thick soft white cheese blocks, and penne pasta with green pesto. I thought the food choice and combo was so simple and random... yet perfect. My boyfriend was amazed at how I was really enjoying the meal as he has never witnessed me eat so many vegetables willingly. The flavor of everything was so vibrant and worked well together. Even the red house wine was on point. The owner (older, bald, heavy set man) and the other server (man with glasses and long black hair) were very friendly and kind. The owner told me I looked like Quincy Jones. I would definitely say this restaurant is a hidden gem. : )
After checking the reviews and location we've decided to come eat at L'Osterietta. It was definitely a great decision made. We were welcomed and introduced to the Menu Degustation. You get a little bit of everything and let me tell you, it tastes delicious. All of it. The ambiance is very charming, placed between 2 streets on a hill and playing great music. The service was super fast and everyone was really friendly. I definitely recommend it! I'd love to come back again if I have another opportunity.
One of the best foodie experiences ever! It was already closed for siesta but the owner invited us in and reopened for us. So friendly guy, we’ve felt like a family after 3 minutes. Great, great, fresh food in enormous amounts with wine and coffee for the fixed price. If I’d live nearby I’d be there few times a week. It’s a must visit place!
L’Osterietta is such a loving and generous resturant-the food was so beautiful and delicious! Our waiter was kind, caring , knowledgeable and attentive and the owner incredible generous. The food was absolutely scrumptious-we will be returning again and again! Thank you SO much L’Osterietta for a beautiful evening under the summery stars.
Great dining experience for 25 euros per person, including a tasty assortment of meats, cheeses, and vegetables. No menu, but everything was good. Nice house wine and hospitable owner. Highly recommend!
A lovely place with loads of character, originally an old school. There is no menu, instead you're brought a variety of plates to share. Antipasti, fruit, pasta dishes. A very relaxed, friendly atmosphere and a brilliant host who goes out of his way to look after his guests. True Italian hospitality, very fair prices and great background music too! Our favourite local!

Good vibes ! Amazing food and I’m going to repeat it again good vibes! The owner is such a good host. We came in pretty late on a Sunday and he still put together a meal for us. They played a lot of classic music (Eric Clapton, Marvin Gaye, ..). It felt like home :)
Great vibe to enjoy. An old school is the décor of an old fashion Italian restaurant serving simple Italian food. The owner is a good sport an big vinyl fan. We enjoyed being the only early guests on a January evening. They open at 18.00.

The food was affordable and the service was pleasant. The location is nice as it’s a bit out of the way. The spinach lasagna was starchy and dry whereas the heavy apricot dessert tasted like blue cheese according to some comrades who were with me.
We had reserved a table. Over the phone, the concept of the restaurant was explained to us. We were greeted and the waiter was very friendly and spoke good English. We were given our appetiser. This was definitely in order, but simple. We had to wait a very long time for the main course. After this dish came, this was just a small plate of lasagne and a small plate of pasta. Definitely not enough for 4 people. We asked for another portion because we were still hungry, but they didn't know if there were going to be any more. After finally getting an extra small plate of lasagne, we had said if this was all. Each table also got different dishes. We noticed that we got less than the other tables. The waiter told us that they had expected more clients and therefore we had been given less food. This is obviously not OK as we had made a reservation in advance. In the end, the waiter apologised. Still, we were disappointed !
