Opiniones de Russell's Pasadena
First time here! Came here on memorial Monday around 8:10am and got seated at bar right way (alternative was 10-20 min wait for a table for two). Started lining up outside shortly after we ordered. Huge portions! I got corn beef hash w/eggs, hash brown and sub blueberry pancake. Was delicious! Husband got country fried steak said it was best he had in a while. Great service and amazing staffs as well. Also they validate one Colorado parking (right next door) for up to 90 minutes. This will be our new go to spot now just need to wake up early for :)
I searched the internet for a breakfast restaurant while visiting LA. This restaurant came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. There was a crowd waiting to dine, so expect to wait around 45 minutes. The wait is worth it. There is a parking garage located next to the restaurant. As an added bonus, the restaurant will valet your ticket when you leave. The service was awesome. The ambiance was family-friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. All menu items are proportioned right and really affordable. Russell's will be a breakfast stable for my family and I when visiting LA. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Delicious food and excellent service. Perfect place for family or friends. The only downside is, there is a wait. It was a beauitful day and didn't mine waiting outside on their chairs. Had the chicken sandwich, which was the bomb. I demolished it. Daughter had chicken fingers, which was delicous.
Popular spot in Pasadena for plentiful breakfast plates. A long narrow layout makes all the seating feel close to the long narrow kitchen. Colorful walls covered with lusciously colored art reproductions makes the place warm and welcoming. We enjoyed such things as omelettes, hash browns, standard wheat toast, fruit bowls, bacon etc- all quickly delivered and piping hot. Highly recommend as a comfortable spot serving American classics.
A true iconic diner type restaurant in downtown Pasadena since 1930. Some say they were the first Cali style burger (aka In/Out) and it’s a really good burger. Always a line and they don’t take reservations but if you can get there early their breakfast is good too. It’s super busy in Rose Bowl game days too….but worth it!
Great place for breakfast! My first time there. The food was delicious, crispy hash browns as ordered, and the corn beef hash (made in house) was definitely one of the best I've had. Oh my goodness, pancakes were fluffy and buttery! The wait was less than expected and service was very good. Thanks so much for a great experience!
Visited this place with our kids for a Saturday morning breakfast around 7:30. Despite the crowd, we felt welcomed immediately. The staff was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere had that charming, classic diner feel. The regulars were friendly and made our little ones feel at home. The breakfast was delicious, everything you hope for at a diner. Definitely planning to return soon!
It was our first time going but we have been wanting to go forever. There is always a line which is a good sign, and we were not disappointed! We waited about 20ish minutes to be seated on a weekday morning but it was well worth it. The food was incredible and the service was very friendly. My favorite breakfast spot in the city by far.
We went mid-morning and there was still a wait, but, oh, my goodness, was it worth it! In the 70's, I lived in Pasadena within walking distance to Russell's, but we only discovered it now, 50 years later! I love the deep red walls, the reproduction of famous paintings, and the classical music. The restaurant is divided into excellent seating arrangements, including a counter. We enjoyed great food and great service.
My SO said he loved everything about it. We were there for breakfast on a Sunday. We were told an hour wait. Our wait was less probably 30-45 minutes. The restaurant was packed and a little noisy. There is only one restaurant for women. However the diner is not that big. We had the waffle breakfast and the French toast breakfast. I would order either one again. You get eggs and the meat of your choice. Hash browns and drinks are separate.
Was recommended this place from a local. Arrived at the restaurant shortly after 7:15am. We were warmly greeted and taken to our seats quickly. Coffee was fresh and was given enough time to make a decision to order. I ordered the ulitmate breakfast burrito with extra crispy hashbrowns (nailed it) and my friend ordered fresh toast. Both meals were done to perfection.
I love Russell’s. I’ve been here a few times now with friends and family. It’s a cozy and intimate diner feeling restaurant. There is always a wait because it’s just that good. I always get the waffles and breakfast plate with the hash browns. A simple and delicious breakfast and one that I crave. 🫶🏻
Comfort breakfast food, surrounded by good art, classical music made for a great experience. I had the breakfast burrito and it came out hot, the ingredients were super high quality. Service was very friendly and my coffee never emptied. Everything was just perfect, we'll be back tomorrow.
We pulled up in the middle of the week...about 60 degrees at best, but parking was plentiful in the garage to which Russell's is attached. Bonus points because parking in Downtown Pasadena can be a fiasco of priced parking if folks are out and about. The wait was around 30 minutes, which we accepted, because our parents raised us to have patience. However, there were great expectations because of the rantings and ravings of the Yelp and Google crowds. Onward. Parking, ambiance, wait times, etc. aside, we're talking about a restaurant for two reasons: food and service. AS SOON as the wife and I sat down, our waiter immediately greeted us, but it was not rushed, and took beverage orders. They are efficient here. Folks in the tables around us were served plates of good-looking hot food that rendered them solely focused on the next bite. I ordered The Big One, and she had a French Toast meal. We tore those plates up. I heard nothing from my wife the entire time and it was the goodness of the food, and not her awe of her husband...this time. The Big One is indeed that, big. Get blueberry pancakes and level up your life. The bacon was thick, the sausage was succulent, and the eggs were not skimpy...even in this economy. I could have done without the hash browns but the slice of french toast I added is one of the best decisions I've made...in life. My decimated plate was cleared before I could take a picture of it...another testament to the friendly efficient that is a hallmark of the service here. Will definitely be back on purpose.
I saw that this spot was nearby and their breakfast options looked great along with their old school interior. I ordered the chicken fried steak, side of corn beef, side of buttered white bread and a coffee. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. The gravy made it phenomenal and the side of corn beef was a great addition. The bread was delicious along with the descent coffee. Overall it was an excellent breakfast experience. I’d definitely come here again to try their other menu items and is a solid breakfast spot. Parking can be tricky but we’ll worth the trip.

Quick service, standard breakfast - but consistent. Drip coffee varies from day to day. Quite and family friendly. Street and lot parking available.

Love this place the atmosphere is very relaxing, the staff was genuinely friendly, and the waffle we got with out meal was perfectly crispy, and hit the spot ! The other items (eggs bacon hashbrowns) were ok not spectacular but definitely not bad either we’ll skip the muffin addition next time, and just to clarify if you request just a glass of water it’s tap …don’t drink LA tap… order water or skip water all together. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious!

Went there for lunch on a Thursday. Got there at 11am. Extra long wait. Took almost 2 hours to be seated because patrons lingered long after they finished eating. Cramped seating area. Good food. Good service. Atmosphere was loud and crowded. I have been here once before, almost 20 years ago, but it seems the quality has dropped slightly.
Me and my bf arrived around 12.30pm on a Thursday, and only waited maybe 7 to 10 min for a table, which was a pleasant surprise since I've seen long lines for this place before. We were craving pancakes and decided to give it a try. My expectations for breakfast/brunch places in Cali can be high, especially depending on the price and menu. I can't say the experience here was memorable. The inside, while on the smaller side, was nicely furnished and cozy, and while the seating is pretty limited, staff are quick to get tables cleaned and ready for the next customers. The food however was ok. Not bad, not particularly good, just ok. He ordered 3 pancakes that came with some egg and sausage, and I got the sausage omelet and hash browns, with a pancake substitution for a couple extra bucks. The best part of the meal was the syrup; while everything else was edible, it just didn't have much flavor. The bill came out to about 40 bucks, so we split it. I don't see myself coming back here, and if there's a long line, I couldn't recommend it. Might give it another try down the line, as I'm on the lookout for a breakfast place in the area to focus on.
My expectations were high for this eatery since the wait time for a slow Monday afternoon was 45 min. Great location in old Pasadena. Patio chairs outside for long wait times. But you get to enjoy the scenery of old Pasadena traffic. Small eatery. Close in quarters. I ordered a Belgium waffle with side of bacon. My husband ordered the egg, sausage, Bisquits with gravy breakfast and a side of corned beef hash. It was an average wait time for the food to come out. Maybe less than 20 min. It was just OK breakfast. Nothing stood out. My husband put a lot of salt and pepper on his biscuit and gravy and corned beef hash. He was expecting it to be more southern tasting. The egg was plain no seasoning. The bacon was more on the beef jerkey side. Not crunchy, juicy, and tasty. The sausage links were tasty. The mimosa was served with just the juice in the glass then the waiter brings the individual bottle of champagne and pours into the wine glass with the juice. The tables are small but they're overwhelmed with napkin dispensers, a full condiments tray, and plate of coffee creamer. Would i give this place another go? Probably not.
First time here with my friends. The croque madame was average at best: good sourdough taste but the ham and cheese inside were disappointing. coffee was typical. Pancakes tasted like box pancakes.…
