Loved our dinner!💛 We came in to celebrating a personal victory but didn’t mention it when asked, as it’s not an anniversary or birthday, but service was so kind that we felt celebrated as if they knew! Thank you for creating such a sweet dinner space in Redding!
We arrived at our reservation time to the serendipity of seeing a neighbor couple as we entered. We talked with them for about 20 minutes. Accommodating our tardiness, Amber then seated us at another table. The Brie starter is nearly dinner by itself with its varied flavors artfully presented and the pickled beet salad was also flavorful. Dinner was the potato gnocchi and bolognese. The gnocchi was excellent with subtle and intermingled flavors of peaches, lamb, gnocchi, and balsamic. She suggested a Malbec that paired well with the gnocchi. The bolognese is hearty and robust although not overpowering with the focaccia a perfect accompaniment. The presentation of the plates compliments the thoroughly enjoyable flavors of the food inviting you to savoy every bite with praises to the Chef. Gracing the meal was Amber's prescient management of our needs. She doesn't miss a thing, takes care of all her guests, and completes the dining experience. Enjoyable evening by any and all measures. Support your local choice.
Having recently moved here from a big city area that had an AMAZING food scene, we've had to temper our expectations of many restaurants as being "Redding Good" vs what we were used to back in our former home. This is the first place that just legitimately blew us away. The staff was excellent. The ambiance was perfect. The food... My goodness... The FOOD! By far, the best we've had in Redding, and would easily compete with the best restaurants across the country. It's that good. If you're looking for a date night, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not coming here.
This is my new favorite place in Redding! The menu options are small but creative and delicious. Every menu item came out of the kitchen piping hot! So fresh! We have the mushroom polenta appetizer. it was creamy and delicious with a tasty garlic olive oil. The garlic bread was a bit peppery for my taste but I enjoyed it. It makes you want to have a beer! Are the chicken marsala which was yummy I asked for spoon because it was nice and saucy the way I like it. My husband had the bas il penne pasta with the sausage. The waitress recommended the sausage. It's complimented the green basily sauce the penny was richly coated in. We were simply too full for dessert but the ones that came out looked good. Are ticket came to $64. the waitress well earned her tip. she knowledgeably guided us in our selections and answered questions intelligently. I will return here again and again.
You know those "whole in the wall places" you never really hear about but when you go there you wonder why you have heard of the place tell now? Paradisio is one of those places. A little bit expensive but its as close to fine dining as you are going to gwt in redding. It was phenomenal!
Easily one of the best meals we have ever had. We will be back every time we are in town.
Very kind service. Starters with wonderful flavor combinations (I tried the brie dish). Main courses are well balanced (ribeye) Dessert: omg, try those balls!
This is a very nice and classy little cafe tucked into downtown Redding. The lunch menu was very interesting and I had a hard time choosing just one item. I went with the Shrimp BTL ($13) and a small bowl of clam chowder as my side dish ($3 upcharge). They have a nice wine and beer menu and I ordered a local microbrewed IPA ($7). Everything was well prepared and was very tasty although the shrimp could have used more flavor (maybe sauteed with butter and garlic). With tip my lunch tab was right at $30 and I was pleased to pay it. My only complaint was the service. My waitress was apparently in a bad mood or just didn't take a liking to me. I posted details here and the management reached out to me and apologized to me. He offered to make it right on my next visit and he did. I went back again with a friend and had a wonderful visit. She started with with the watermelon salad which was delicious and unique. I had the grilled Caesar salad which I enjoyed. We had the Zen Bowl and the Chicken Dijon. Both dishes showed creativity and culinary skill. This is a restaurant that delivers in the food category even though I had a bad experience with the service once. I am convinced that it was anomaly and that the excellent sevice that I received on my secon visit is their norm. I will be going back.
Short story: To. Die. For. Long story: We started with side salads (larger than most) with plenty of greens, tomatoes, croutons, and two different homemade dressings. The Mosely Family Cellars Syrah was "jammy" and paired well with both mouth watering main dishes. Locally grown Fuyu persimmons added color and complemented the Lemon Thyme Rissoto and fork tender Braised Beef Cheek I'd ordered. My daughter ordered the Duck Breast, which was perfectly cooked and served over smashed Yukon potatoes, spiraled root veggies encircled by spiced maple syrup and pecans. After finishing off our main dishes, we opted to split a crème brûlée (creamier and not too sweet than others we've eaten). Chef Michael has many GF options, and accommodated my low oxalate dietary request to replace any spinach in my salad with any other lettuce. Amber's hospitality and wait service was also excellent. This husband and wife team can expect to see us back again!
Made a random dinner stop on a long road trip. The avocado deviled eggs were amazing! The mushroom polenta was incredible we also had a great salad and the curry bowl was super yummy. Great service. Friendly and small great art work just super cute spot with amazing food
My girlfriend and I just had dinner here and we can't say anything negative. The food here is amazing. She has multiple dietary restrictions and the chef (worthy of the title) worked with us to make her an absolutely amazing vegan and gluten free meal. For those without restrictions, you will love the food too. If you're like her and need special considerations then try the Zen Bowl with Tofu. If you're like me then get the crispy pork gnocchi. I feel like my taste buds just had a religious experience. Just wow. Oh and the staff are amazingly kind as well. You will not be disappointed. Best food in Redding for me after moving here a year ago. Oh yeah. They are toddler friendly and made a special meal just for our 3 year old that he loved.
Mind blowing! Got into Redding late at night and stopped here by pure chance. Great service, great food, and with the Zen Bowl specifically, some of the best sauces I’ve had. 100% worth a stop if you’re in town!
I’m glad this place opened in Redding. We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. The food was very high quality and the wine paired well with my soup and entree.
A wonderful experience every time!
Beautiful plating, excellent service, kind staff, hot delicious food cooked to perfection. If I didn't live in excess of 5 hours away I'd come here on a monthly basis. And I can't forget about the Gelato. Absolutely amazing. Wish I could break the scale of five. They deserve all the stars!
Best food in Redding hands down. Go check this Family owned business out and you won’t be disappointed!!!
Seriously EXCELLENT Vegan Options! Not just the usual minus the meat. Unique flavors and textures combined with a visually beautiful presentation make this special treat. I ordered the Zen Bowl. Everyone makes a version of this but my Cafe Paradisio experience is proof that this doesn't have to be the same day in and day out. Offered with 3 different delectable sauces, every bite was YUM! Friendly service, nice art on the walls and a warm casual vibe make this my new favorite place in Redding. Live music Friday nights is icing on this cake. Highly recommended.
Consistently excellent every time.
Fun atmosphere. Dinner was full of flavor. Great menu selection
We have been here several times. We always stop here and they are so gracious. Love their food and they will actually make you something not on the menu.
Such an incredible little gem of a spot in town. Easily a top 3 favorite in town. The rib eye is a must and the bread will change your life.
Where to even begin, my wife and I are always searching for new places to eat in the Redding area and she had stated Paradisio had a lot of buzz. Well everyone, this place will not disappoint! We started off with an appetizer (my wife ordered it and I could not pronounce it if I wanted to) but it was delicious. We had the Halibut plate for dinner and let me tell you that was the best fish I have ever tasted. Then we moved on to dessert, a crème brûlée. I don’t normally eat things like that but again so tasty that between us we ate every ounce of it. We went so far to order the elk burger to go just in case we got hungry. Amber and Michael seem to have the system down, very friendly and very inviting place, it’s a very intimate setting so you will want to call and check availability. But Amber got us right in! We will eat there again soon! So much more to try and definitely top 3 places I’ve eaten in Redding!
It was a treat to enjoy a date night with my wife in this amazing locally owned restaurant. The service was outstanding, and the food was even better. The quality and overall experience make this our new favorite restaurant in Redding! If you’re looking for the perfect date night, don’t go anywhere else. We are regulars now!
I haven’t been there for a while and I was so surprised. The owner was the greeter and server and provided excellent service. Her husband is the cook. As the owner she could tell us best about the menu since she knew it intimately The menu is delightful and had some very interesting such as Elk burger. My husband and I both ordered the pesto penne, his with vegetables and mine with meat ball. This was just wonderful. Each bite you could taste the ingredients and the vegetable pasta was full of fresh vegetables. The variety of veggies were cut into small pieces and blended so well as opposed to feeling like a bunch of broccoli was thrown in. For the appetizer I had the pork belly which was to die for. I would go back for just that! We chose the Brussels sprouts, an appetizer, with our main course. I very highly recommend Paradiso.
I had heard great things, lived in the area for 15 years but never been here. My boyfriend and I were on our first outing in 6 months because of work. The decorations are cozy and comforting, beautiful photographs of national recreation areas. I was super impressed that with just three staff (which I counted) we were seated, served, and given our check within the hour/ hour and a half of being there. We got the surf and turf and scallops. Also the Brie appetizer. All were amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Staff was attentive and welcoming. Can’t wait to go again! Thankyou for a great meal!
Food is some of the best I've found in this town if you want to be fancy for a night. Chef is one of a kind in opinion in this town. Will return for special occasions. Atmosphere was nice small and personnel.
Hands down the best place to eat in Redding! You have to make a reservation and it is very very worth it. I ordered the Blackened Teres Major and it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the beef cheek risotto and it was phenomenal.
Paradiso in Redding: A Culinary Gem We recently enjoyed a truly memorable dinner at Paradiso Restaurant in Redding, CA. The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our waiter was engaging and provided helpful explanations of the menu options. We highly recommend making reservations, as this popular spot fills up quickly. Our party of four had all amazing dishes: a perfectly cooked rib-eye, rich Bolognese, tagliatelle with homemade sausage in a creamy white sauce, and melt-in-your-mouth braised short ribs. All sides were perfectly prepared and the focaccia bread was superb. Every bite was amazing, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in each dish. Paradiso boasts a charming and intimate atmosphere. It's clear that Redding is fortunate to have such a high-caliber dining establishment. We can't wait to return!
My family and I stopped in here for dinner for my birthday and we were so impressed! So happy to have this little gem in Redding. The food was fabulous, the service couldn't be better!
This place is incredible! The food is high quality and absolutely delicious! He is an amazing chief and I am surprised to see him in Redding. The man is brilliant! I hope it stays the same.
Everything was delicious! Service awesome. Thanks for a lovely dining delight.
I had the pork belly appetizer and the short rib dinner (with mashed potatoes and carrots). Both were absolutely delicious! And the owners/staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoy paradisio's. We have been there a number of times and never been disappointed. Can't wait to go back!
Wow. Just wow. What a gem! We ordered the Brussels sprouts (yum!), bacon-wrapped dates (a most delightful special!), the pork belly (omg!), the focaccia (fresh, soft deliciousness!), and a bottle of Merlot, before indulging in Ceasar Salads and Chicken Marsala. Say whaaat?! I was in food heaven. Topped it off with incredible (!) pistachio and vanilla creme brûlées. How they have a restaurant in Redding, CA is beyond me. The dishes they serve could easily compete with NYC or SFO restaurants. Incredible!! I’m glad we don’t live near, or we’d go broke by eating there every night…
This is hands down the best food in Redding. I’ve been here several times and the food is on point each and every time. The menu changes seasonally and it’s always outstanding. What’s even more amazing are the chef and his wife run the whole thing, and give outstanding service. It’s small so it’s always best to get a reservation to insure they can get you in, but it is worth it!
A much anticipated visit did not disappoint! Wonderful, caring owners who took care of us throughout the evening. Delicious food, we all ordered something different and we all described our meals as “comfort food”. Gnocchi was melt in your mouth delectable! Lasagna was rich, and velvety. Chicken Marsala was tender and juicy and the Elk Burger was gigantic! We all loved the fries that came along with that! Cannot wait to visit again. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
Fabulous gem of a place! Five star food in a real mom and pop setting. Lovely find in Redding with locally sourced ingredients masterfully prepared in an open kitchen. Wonderful owners and thoughtful decor of local artists photography inspiring views of California. Highly recommend. Food was incredible and can’t wait to be back. Very impressed.
I am so sorry I didn't take pictures of our food. All four of us raved about our different dishes. Fish, short ribs (this was mine and absolutely delish), pasta, and curry. Our SIL treated us, and it was a treat indeed.
Enjoyed a perfect date night dinner here. The ambiance was just intimate enough to make us feel like we had privacy, with soft lighting and gentle, enjoyable music. Amber was a fantastic, warm, attentive host. Chef Mike did not disappoint. Our meals were amazingly delicious, we were both so pleased by our selections. So impressed with our meals that we’ve already looked at the menu and decided what we want to try next! So delighted to find such a gem of a restaurant in Redding.
During a business trip, I dined twice at Cafe Paradiso, and overall, it was a fantastic experience. The server was amiable (homey is the correct description) and provided excellent recommendations. I tried the soup, garden salad, and chicken marsala the first night, and all were delicious. The second night, I had the Brussels sprout and asked for it to be slightly more charred, and the decadent taste remains in my memory. The elk burger was tasty but large enough that it was hard to bite into. The crisp fries were as I liked them. I will eat again at Cafe Paradiso and try the other dishes, soup, and Brussels sprouts.
The owners and staff were amazing, and so was the food. The tiramisu cheesecake was awesome, and so was the wild boar pasta. Highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a fine dining experience.
Fantastic small scale establishment. The chef talked us through his dishes and his server knew all the intricacies of the dishes we selected! Can't wait to go again!
Absolutely amazing food and the most homey atmosphere - came in from out of town and honestly the best food I've had in a long time.. you can taste the love in every bite! And the hostess is the sweetest!
We hadn’t seen Amber and Mike in nearly two years - missed their smiles, ambiance and food. Dinner tonight was EXCEPTIONAL, wine was superb and Amber’s table side charm impeccable. We always treat ourselves to Paradiso when in Redding - you should too!
Such a welcoming environment! The curry dish was phenomenal and the brussel sprouts and the Z bowl with ahi tuna! Super fresh, very well seasoned. Delicious!
Absolutely fantastic "hole in the wall" place! Small and intimate with a fabulous menu. Our table had the Elk Burger, Halibut special, Z Bowl, Bolognese, and the Lasagna. Everything was cooked to perfection and we will be back for more!
Keeping it sweet and simple. Redding is beyond fortunate to have such a GEM of a place such as Paradiso. If you get the honor and chance to eat here, TAKE IT and never let go! With just 9 tables to offer, you will be served amazing, personalized, sincere, heartfelt dishes that will make you pause and just appreciate all that is in front of you. The amazing owners/couple that runs this place are just so welcoming and friendly to just serve you up the best of best. The 6 dishes that we enjoyed on our evenings night out were absolutely jaw dropping and we can’t wait to come back for more. I wish I could name all of our entrees but we devoured them with such joy and pleasure that there was nothing left to show for. I do know for appetizers we got the Brie and Caprese, you will NOT be disappointed. This place is a gem, keep doing what you do because you are killing it, and Amber thank you for taking care of us all. Sincerely the Mirror Table <3
Hidden Gem is an overused phrase but the only one that fully captures Cafe Paradisio. Locally owned, family run, a solid but adventurous menu made with fresh ingredients prepared in the moment. Many favorites and zero misses. The missing star is from an only so-so wine selection. Plan ahead, seating is limited and regulars fill the place most nights.
Monday night dinner, easy to find seating, waitress was quick and nice. Ordered chicken curry dish: large portion with a good ratio of rice, veggies and chicken. ALOT of onions tho... Chicken and veggies cooked nicely, sauce had great flavor, slightly spicy. $22 is on the pricy side but fresh made. I would eat here again. If I could give half stars would be 4.5
Worst service I ever had!!! I was really looking forward to trying this place, but the service was absolutely disappointing! Despite having a reservation, we were completely ignored. When we arrived, the waitress greeted us but didn’t seat us — instead, she started pouring wine and serving other tables right in front of us. She didn’t even acknowledge that our table wasn’t ready, nor did she say something like, “We just need a moment to clean your table, please wait.” Instead, she began cleaning and setting up the table after we arrived — something that should’ve been ready with our reservation. But it gets worse. Just when I thought she was bringing plates to prepare our table, she walked into the kitchen and started serving desserts to other customers. Meanwhile, we were still awkwardly standing by the cashier area. After that, she began preparing checks — and at this point, our table still wasn’t ready. Frustrated and completely ignored, we finally just walked out. I’ve never experienced such poor service.
