The perfect stop for an early breakfast on a Christmas road trip 🎄✨ The homemade biscuits were absolute heaven, and the whole meal felt cozy and satisfying without being greasy. It was the kind of homestyle breakfast that just hits right. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming, made us feel right at home. Definitely a spot we’d happily come back to!

I don't usually say this, but I have never had bad service here. Always a friendly staff person at the table and cashier. Good bakery items and good homemade food. 👌

I’m honestly not sure why I hadn’t tried Country Kitchen or heard anyone talking about it before. Based on the food alone, it was outstanding. I went with company and ordered my usual: chicken-fried steak with two over-medium eggs on top. Everything was made from scratch, and it may have been the best version of this dish I’ve ever had. The gravy was perfect, with tiny pieces of sausage, and the chicken-fried steak was hand-breaded and cooked just right. My friend ordered a picture-perfect omelet and cornbread, the cornbread having a beautiful, crispy crust. I tried it, and as someone who makes cornbread myself, I can confidently say I couldn’t make it any better. I mentioned this to our waitress—let’s call her T—and she smiled and said it’s a secret recipe, but confirmed that everything is made from scratch. Even the black coffee stood out. It was noticeably better than the standard diner cup. Every waitress we encountered, including our own, was well trained, professional, and attentive. This is exactly what I want in a restaurant experience. I’m always happy when a place exceeds my expectations, and Country Kitchen absolutely did. Highly recommended.

First time in this cozy little spot. Had a friend tell me about it. My favorite thing to try in every breakfast place is chicken friend steak. This place knocked it out of the park. And the biscuits taste like they have a grandma from the deep south back there making them. I will def be back...your my new go to Sunday breakfast

Excellent biscuits and sausage gravy. The waitress was very nice and accomidating. Nice relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely be back to try another dish.

I cant believe I never came here sooner, food was good, prices were good, and staff was amazing! I will definitely be coming back :) I really liked their french toast, and they have a massive selection of fruits to try!

We had breakfast here as we were passing through Redding. Ordered a Denver omelette with hash browns and coffee. The omelette was tasty with a healthy amount of ham. The has browns were cooked well and crispy not soggy. Just the way we like them. The coffee was good. You have your choice of either a lighter roast coffee or a darker roast. We got the lighter roast coffee and it was good. The service was spot on and very friendly.

I just had the BEST Cobb Salad ever! I wished I would have taken a picture of it. It had an even amount of tomatoes, blue cheese, chicken, bacon, and avocado. Along with romaine lettuce and Blue Cheese dressing, of course. 5 out of 5 stars, if there were a way to give it 10 stars I would have. :-)

My boyfriend and I had breakfast together. I had the pancake sandwich with bacon and a side of the country potatoes. My egg was over medium. He had two eggs with sausage links, country potatoes and an English muffin. I cannot emphasize enough how amazing the food was! My egg was cooked perfectly. The bacon was not under or overcooked. The country potatoes were absolutely delicious. Get the onions and bell peppers added. They rocked. My pancakes were fluffy and light. The warm syrup reminded me of how my dad did breakfast when I was a kid. Oh, and the coffee, I almost forgot about the coffee. It was so tasty. Like how can regular coffee be so good? The waitress was on the ball. Warming the coffee, checking as needed but not hovering. Super lady and great at her job. This is our new, favorite place. ❤️

We had a delightful experience at this brunch spot! The food was exceptional, and they handled our orders flawlessly. It's the perfect place for a Mother's Day brunch—highly recommended for a special family gathering!

Food is always consistent here. Consistently good American Breakfasts! I love the ham scramble and hash browns. They also bake most of their own bread and pastries which is really good. Great people work here too. They’ve even done a special request not on the menu for us. (Waffles with bacon in them). Always happy with my food here. Favorite breakfast place in Redding. Very casual nothing fancy but just VERY GOOD!

Won't find another place like this in town, selection is great food is always on point everything on the menu is made with care and not thrown together. Staff are welcoming warm and very polite . Setting is relaxed and feels like home such a great place luv going here and sharing time with friends and family over a wonderful meal.

Ordered the chicken fried steak, pancake breakfast, two kids pancake breakfasts, and an omelette and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The restaurant itself was so clean and the furniture was really nice. The atmosphere was amazing. The food quality was out of this world! Honestly, I think I found my family and I's new Cafe breakfast area. I was talking to my wife and told her I'm excited to come back and try their burgers and other stuff. When I was checking out the person who was checking me out was not my waitress and she was asking me. Was everything okay? How did it taste? You could tell that she was actually asking and when I told her that this is our new favorite place, she was extremely excited. I am definitely recommending the Country Kitchen to all of my friends.

The breakfast items looked good but I was there for lunch. My chicken sandwich was not good. The chicken was thin and dry. The bacon on it was good but not enough to save this sandwich. Do yourself a favor and no matter how much you want a chicken sandwich - order something else!

Description of food did not include that vinegar is utilized in the recipe for San Francisco Joe’s Scramble. The vinegar so dominated the dish that I was unable to take more than one bite. Took home in hope other family might enjoy. Rest of meal was great. Bought fresh baked sliced loaf of bread to take home. Service Stellar!

The food wasn't amazing, but it was good. We both tried the biscuits and gravy, looked delicious.. but it was mostly the biscuit that was good. The gravy was bland and had very little sausage. Our waitress was doing a great job with every single table and was busting her butt. All the staff was friendly. Lots of seating available.

Don't get Biscuits and gravy, the other breakfast items look wonderful. When it's busy, it can be hard to catch a waitresses attention but that's to be expected. Nice relaxed country atmosphere. Comfort food.

Lost our waitress?? Still waiting for toast...had to ask for the check from a bus person. Gave 3 stars as I am hoping for better service next time. (It has been an excellent place in the past)

So, this was our first time. 2-3 stars max... Unfortunately we are disappointed. The food was great and the server was very nice BUT we had to wait so long for someone to even take our drink orders I had to get up and ask one of the girls for someone to help us. She said she thought someone was helping us already. Really?? She took our drink order then we waited again a long while before the server came. By the way she brought my husband’s beer out without opening it so we even had to get up again and go ask someone to open the beer. Then she comes back saying “sorry I don’t drink beer”. Again - really?? Meanwhile it was very cold. Uncomfortably cold - maybe their heater didn’t work today. Not sure. Could be just one of those days. I don’t like writing bad reviews at all but it’s a busy place with a lot of potential so please hire more servers!! And don’t let a table like ours just wait forever to even be recognized! Another table came after us and they were finished with their food by the time we got ours!!! Big no-no. That said - server was very very nice. Food was good. Mimosa was huge. I am not sure we will be back again. Maybe.

Probably the worst chicken fried steak I've ever had and I had them in the military 😏. And the pancakes tasted like they were out of a box. Friendly staff and clean environment though.

Feel some food okay but nothing like reviews stated. Ham was so dry rest of my breakfast good. Bread pudding such a disappointment so dry..we got both breakfast and lunch.Kids meals well portioned

Have been here now 3 times for steak and eggs each time the steak has been trash I mean come on how hard is it to make a proper steak it’s tasted burnt it’s obvious it is being cooked too hot and too fast the eggs were decent the country potatoes were the best part of the meal that’s why I gave two stars but every time I’ve been here I’ve sent the steak back this last time I didn’t even bother will be last time I come here the service is mediocre the barely give you time to talk then rush off.

The food is normal coffee shop style food. The servers don’t listen to your order. So they don’t get it correct. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. When I did try to ask the waitress a question she looked at me then walked away. When she did get to me I asked if they served a strawberry short cake since they had strawberry and pancake or waffle. She said no and walked away without seeing if I would like anything else.

Food quality: bad, some of the worst biscuits I've ever had. The biscuits themselves were undercooked and bland, the gravy wasn't fresh and tasted powdery. We ordered omelets and the kids pancake. The eggs in the omelet were ok but the fillings, except for the bacon, was not very good. The bacon was the only redeemable quality about the omelets. Service: The lady that brought us to the table was nice but we didn't like being put in the back corner next to the bathrooms. The lady that grabbed our check has the audacity to say our daughter was having an attitude for not coloring her crayon picture in and for being shy. The atmosphere: Looked ok from the outside, dim, sad, and run down on the inside. The seating was bad, one of the least comfortable chairs I've sat in, basically a hard bench with a flimsy panel backrest. Maybe the mismatched low quality plates, uncomfortable seating, and bad lighting is the aesthetic the owner is going for but we were not impressed. Won't be coming back here, do not recommend.

We were really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately the service left a bad impression. After being seated, we waited quite a while without even receiving water. During that time, we watched three tables who arrived after us get drinks—and one table even had their full order taken—before anyone acknowledged us. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but being overlooked that many times is hard to ignore. We ended up leaving before ordering. I hope this was just an off day, but based on our experience, I can’t recommend this location for attentive service.

Today was not a good experience. The place wasn't busy (I wonder why) service was horrible, she forgot half of the orders, two drinks didn't show up before food and were asked for twice, most of the toast was brought late, coffee refills were cold and not timely. And the food was the worst I have had in a long time. Sausage and eggs, not some exotic menu item. The sausage was like it was rubber, and the eggs were runny. My husband's food was the same, except his eggs were ok. And the country potatoes, literally probably more onions and bell peppers than potatoes. The potatoes were closer to not done than done. What a waste of $50.

The service was crap had to wait 25 minutes to.order the disnt check on us for coffee rwfills.ae had to ask then waitress spilled coffee on table and Disney bother even wiping it up the waitress with a lazy eye should be fired

My family loves chocolate cream pie, and we always went to Marie Calendars to pick one up for special occasions. Unfortunately, Marie Calendars went out of business, so for my birthday my wife decided to try Country Kitchen’s chocolate cream pie. M I STAKE. My wife brought it home, and sheepishly asked how much I thought it cost. Since it was small, about 9”, I guessed $15. I was shocked when she told me she paid $32 for the pie. . The filling was very light brown, and did not look like chocolate at all. The crust was like cardboard probably the worst chocolate cream pie I’ve ever had at a ridiculously high price. Never again.

Was highly disappointed in this place and had high hopes for it. Me and my son we’re dropping off a package to UPS and my son said smells good can we go so I said sure. We walked in and were greeted kindly but after that everything went down hill we were sat down and the waitress didn’t show up for close to 20 minutes to take our order now mind you they were busy so I understood that she was busy but when the two tables across from us got seated later after we did and had ordered and got there food already before we ordered that didn’t sit well with me. We finally ordered our food and got it fairly quick so that was a plus but the food it self was bland the tenderloin pork was not tender but chew and hard like a hockey puck and the hash browns we flavorless while eating I asked for a glass of water and I never got it finished my meal and paid. I still Left a good tip cause none the less they were working hard but I hope Management reads this and can focus on the area that might need improving cause for now I can’t see myself going back or even recommending this place.
