But even better than the drink was the vibe: a locally-owned place where I felt seen, heard, and appreciated. No big chain apathetic “thanks for coming maybe you’ll be back”—just real people who mean it.

Stopped by and had coffee with a few friends here. My latte was delicious! Love the clever names on the menu and laid back atmosphere. Owner greeted us and was very friendly. I didn't have any food but it looked yummy and my friend said her bagel was one of the best she's ever had. Will definitely be coming back!

The tinted windows, & the vinyl accents make it feel like no other coffee shop (plus it looks great) The staff is amazing, the atmosphere is inviting, & the coffee never misses. This review is long overdue as I have been addicted to Mugshot's cold brew for hmm... over a year now?! Thankful for Alex & Dave serving up consistently quality coffee & food. Not your typical place as they truly make you feel like family. Good vibes, food is delicious with large portions, coffee so good you might get addicted, and the prices don't hurt the wallet. This place is great for the community!

The burritos are titanic size, the coffee is fresh brewed and the service is always with a smile. The atmosphere is cozy and spacious. There's fun photo ops and perfect outdoor seating. I haven't had a sandwich I didn't like!

I absolutely love Mugshot Coffee! Between gutter jobs and being on a roof all day, I grabbed the Long Weigh Down Burrito—loaded with bacon, chicken sausage, veggies, egg, cheese, and hashbrowns—and it was fantastic. The best part? The team greeted me by name, asked how my day was going, and genuinely seemed glad I stopped in. This is what a coffee shop should feel like: warm, local, and welcoming. As a fellow small business owner in the area, it’s great to connect with like-minded people who care about their customers and our local economy.

Stopped by Mugshot Coffee in Chesterfield and was really impressed. I ordered an espresso macchiato,which they don’t normally have on the menu,but they made it special for me and absolutely nailed it. Perfect balance, great flavor, and super friendly service. Definitely worth a visit if you appreciate quality coffee and great people!

I have been to Mug Shot Coffee a few times now and every time I go I am more and more impressed. Yesterday they catered a breakfast meeting I attended and everything was delicious, fresh, and hot! I LOVED the wraps and danishes! I will be back to their storefront, and will also recommend them for breakfast catering!

This is our preferred code shop in town. They have classic and unique drink options, good food, snacks for the kids and space for them to be themselves. Not cramped or stuffy like a Starbucks, and the owner will guaranteed be working behind the counter taking care of you. Highly recommend this small business, the people are great and we love to support them

Stopped in for the first time at the suggestion of friends. Amazing staff, GREAT coffee, fun decor, and all-around pleasant atmosphere. Didn't try any food as I had already eaten, but will DEFINITELY be back as everything looked and smelled wonderful. Highly recommended!!

It’s so exciting to have a local coffee shop in this area! The coffee was really good. The croisookies were really tasty. I got a bag of ground coffee and it was a big hit in my house. They have a big space for this coffee shop and I can’t wait to see them grow and expand their offerings.

BOMB AF I had the cookie butter latte with oat milk, a croisookie, and a bacon bacon bacon egg and cheese burrito. 1. I don’t care for eggs, but these were cooked with love and magic. Could easily do a line of their eggs. 2. Crois-ookie. Cookie stuffed croissant. Amazing. Told the creator I love her. Great location, friendly, fun. The tickets have a zip line. 10000% will be back again… and again. I’m about to treat this place like a mistake of a man that’s a good lay. 😂😂😂

While not getting food for this first time, I did get a special iced lavender honey latte order to try. It was absolutely delicious! The food being cooked though also smelled delicious I will say, and others highly recommend. The other amazing part about this café is the staff, who are extremely friendly, funny and down to earth people who just wanna make amazing coffee for people 😁 The owners are absolutely wonderful

I stopped here needing coffee REAL bad! I got the Butter Cookie Latte with an extra shot (2) and OMG! It was better than any latte I’ve ever had! The Yo Eggdrian burrito was also top tier! The next time I’m in the area, I will definitely be back! I wish there was one in the DMV area!

I paired this with the cookie butter latte & it was delicious, you can taste the flavor of biscoff at the end of each sip. Would Highly recommend. Incredible flavor and even more incredible lamination. Like, hands down phenomenal. Latte was also fantastic, but hard to hold a candle to that danish. Second: cookie butter latte had great flavor, but again, the bagel was the star. Clearly, not a store bought bagel. It was fresh and had plenty of everything. Cream cheese was creamy, delicious, and fresh. Don’t even get me started on the staff! So friendly, kind and helpful! They truly seem like they are happy to be at work, which says a lot. We are so glad we decided to pop in! Now it’s your turn to get booked at Mugshot Coffee. I finally had a chance to stop by MugShot Coffee today, and let me tell you my butter cookie hot latte was just the boost I needed for my early morning. The cafe was clean and well organzied. The food menu was good exceptional for a small cafe! I had the pleasure of meeting the Owner Dave and he was kind and had me checked out and out the door in no time. I highly recommend giving them a try!

I walked over to Mugshot after dropping my car off for a state inspection and I’m so glad I did! I got the cookie butter latte and the Long Weigh-Down burrito. Both were delicious! The burrito was hot and fresh and definitely satisfying, and the latte was great without being super sweet. I don’t get out for breakfast/coffee very often but I’ll for sure keep Mugshot in mind for when the opportunity arises.

I don't even drink coffee, but this place is the best and so many other options even for my non-coffee drinker! Atmosphere is amazing and feels like a home away from home. High recommended not only because of drinks/foods, but to support small business! This is best side business to support because you can tell his heart is in the establishment and remind you good people do, still exist!

I don’t get in here as often as I would like but when I do come in I always feel welcomed. Staff is always pleasant and the Owner isn’t too bad either! Food is on point. Those biscuits are *chefs kiss* delicious! The coffee is also excellent and made fresh and made to order. Highly recommend.

Been a few times and definitely will be returning! We’ve tried a variety of the drinks and have yet to be disappointed. The burritos have been excellent. The only thing that has room for improvement, to me, would be the pastries. As they are still fairly new, I’m sure they are still tinkering with recipes and I hope to try more of the pastries in the future! Also I love the little library full of crime themed books.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars so bad. We found it online while we were down in Richmond and based on the reviews we were very excited. The guy working the register was wonderful- excellent customer service!! We ordered 2 lattes, bagel sandwich and burrito. The coffees came out quick and tasted great. Especially the cookie butter! Then we waited and waited and waited for almost 40 minutes for the bagel and burrito. We went up and checked because we thought they forgot about our food. I was met with a lady who didn’t even look up and said it was coming out. When we got out to the car, I took a bite of the bagel and it was so hard and burnt that I couldn’t get through it to take a bite. If we weren’t running late to get back home I would have gone back inside and asked for a new one. At almost $11 per food item we probably wouldn’t come back.

Mugshot Coffee Shop has a cool, unique concept. It feels like a mash-up between a classic diner and a modern coffee shop, especially with the open-faced grill setup. I like that they offer their sandwiches as a bagel, burrito, or traditional sandwich — that flexibility is a nice touch and makes the menu feel customizable. It’s also interesting that they have a dedicated non-coffee section on the menu, which broadens the appeal beyond just espresso drinks. The interior design is bold. The orange walls definitely make a statement, but paired with the very black accent wall, the contrast feels a bit aggressive and visually heavy. It gives the space energy, but it can also feel a little overwhelming if you’re planning to sit and relax. During my visit, the business seemed to be heavily focused on delivery orders. I counted around ten DoorDash drivers coming through while only two or three people were actually sitting down. That gives the impression that a lot of their traffic is takeout-driven rather than dine-in focused. Overall, it’s an interesting spot with a creative menu and strong branding. It may be better suited for grabbing something to go rather than settling in for a long coffee shop hangout.

Went here for the first time, with my boyfriend, for the Murder Mystery event. First impressions was it was VERY bright in there. It felt like we were inside a tanning bed. Not what I'd assumed it would be for a cafe. I just figured it would have warmer lighting. It was an older crowd which was not what I expected with the "jailhouse" theme. The decorations were definitely a mixed bag... It wasn't super busy for the event considering the size of the space, but getting service was a nightmare. I'm going to assume they had someone call out or no show for a shift. It also seemed like most the customers there knew the staff personally and the staff were more focused on conversating than serving customers. We ended up leaving early before getting anything to drink or eat. The staff definitely seemed flustered. One older gentleman working there, I'm assuming the manager seemed very upset and snippy with staff and customers. We probably won't be back. Response to owner: I have no clue what "piggyback post" you're referring to. I also didn't attend the "LAST WEEK" event. My post was done on Jan 8 but never went through on Google due to the photo having another business name in it. Go look at your Yelp where it went through on Jan 9... I also didn't buy the tickets, my boyfriend did, so MY name wouldn't be on there. We left early as stated in my original review, so how could I tell you who the "killer" was? Honey, you can keep your coffee for life. I go to A LOT of coffee shops all over Richmond. That's how I know yours is only worth the 2 stars I gave. Telling people who leave honest feedback to get a life is real rich coming from a person responding at 3am to people and editing their response 4 times in a few hours. Take the feedback and learn, or don't. You seem to love an argument, but you won't get it from me. I have more important things to concern myself over. I have added the photo from Yelp. 2nd Response to Owner: I edited the first time to correct your inaccurate assumptions about the date I was there. I give you a chance to apologize, but you decided not to. Now you're going on some crazy rant about you're a wrestler and something about family issues... And calling a gay man a woman isn't original. I've heard worse.
