It's authentic South Indian cuisine that you find it difficult to find even in Tamil Nadu/India. Everything from the Divine music, to unbeatable pricing, "service from the heart" to last but not the least, lip smacking and heavenly food, is something words can't do enough justice, especially for those living overseas. We hope you expand to Los Angeles, as your next market. Will be one of your biggest cheerleaders and advocates awaiting you there 😊

Great place for South Indian breakfast, snacks and quick bites.

The experience was pretty good; had their ghee masala dosa and filter coffee.

I have been to A2B lot of time, the food, service and atmosphere is top notch. I would recommend to stick to south Indian speciality if you are going to visit one of time. Because Indo-Chinese is hit and a miss. We have had really good Noodles and Manchurian and very bad as well. I think this one depends on who is the chef of the day or hour of the day you are visiting. Must try is Mysore Bonda, curd rice, and Dosa. Chana bature is also good if you like less spicy and mild chole bature.

Had a great experience at A2B. The food was fresh, tasty, and authentic South Indian flavors. Service was quick and the place was clean and well maintained. Good variety on the menu and reasonably priced. A reliable spot for breakfast or family dining.

Ordered a tiffin combo - idly vada sambar with filter coffee. Fast and friendly table service. Nice clean interior and authentic flavors. We went back to try their dosas! Plain dosa and Rava onion dosa were great with 3 types of chutney. Pepper rasam is perfect starter.

Excellent quality and quantity. 200% value for money at this a2b San Jose restaurant. Smooth ordering and payment process. The food is delivered quite faster than most other restaurants. We ordered Sambhar Idli, Sambahar Vadai and Masala Dosai. The quantity served makes you feel full even with the first order.. Have to give 5 star ratings for this restaurant for this value for customer mindset. We went to this restaurant after a while and surprised to see they have added a lot of new food items to their menu. Especially North Indian food Items to their menu. Will be trying them during our next visit.

This South Indian restaurant is highly recommended for a quick and satisfying meal. The food is consistently delicious, and we’ve tried several dishes over the years, including Idli, Vada, Dosas, meals, Kothu Paratha, and Manchurian. You can’t go wrong with their menu.

Food was of exceptional quality, service was great. We had pongal and pesarattu, both were very flavorful. Chutneys were freshly made. Staff was very courteous and polite. The atmosphere was also very welcoming, with divine songs playing in the morning. Must visit South Indian restaurant if you are in the Bay area.

The food here is excellent—especially during weekends when they offer buffet tiffin. Even l tired to have lunch and dinner . Yes, it’s affordable and yet very high quality with the good taste. Even though I have come out of India for work, A2B San Jose reminds me of the comforting, homely food I grew up with. The taste and quality are authentic, which isn’t surprising since they are originally from India. The staff are courteous and serve with genuine care and attention especially need to mention the special thanks to Easwari Ma’m and Charan sir . A2B has become one of my regular spots and remains one of the best South Indian vegetarian restaurants in the Bay Area.

Visited A2B during their happy hours (5 PM to 7 PM) and had an excellent experience. They offer any dosa for just $8.99 during this time, which is a great deal considering the quality and taste. I tried the Mysore Masala Dosa, and it was absolutely delicious—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The chutneys and sambar served alongside were authentic and complemented the dosa wonderfully. The ambiance was clean and welcoming, and the service was quick and courteous. Highly recommend visiting during happy hours for a satisfying and affordable South Indian meal. Definitely a 5/5 experience!

Good quality South Indian food in Bay Area by far. Clean restaurant and ambience. Opportunity to improve service though. Feedback to help A2b improve service. 1. Don’t ask customers to pay bill while they are eating the food. Either make it as pay before you buy or wait till they complete their meal. I was asked to pay while I was halfway putting my dosa in my mouth, felt bit uncomfortable. 2. For breakfast buffet, consider using proper Stainless Steel plates and Cups. In my opinion, A2b isn’t a cheap fast food chain and shouldn’t be serving in tiny paper plates.

The restaurant offers decent South Indian food with fairly authentic flavors. The dosas were nicely cooked and the sambar and chutneys were good, though not outstanding. Portions were reasonable and the food was fresh. Service was okay, but could be more attentive, especially when it gets busy. Overall, it’s a satisfactory place for South Indian dishes, with some room for improvement.

I usually visit A2B San Jose for breakfast or evening snacks, and it has consistently been a pleasant experience. The place is clean with ample seating, making it comfortable to sit and enjoy a meal. I often order the Mysore masala dosa, combo breakfast plate, or uttapam, and I always end my meal with their chai or filter coffee—a perfect finish. The food is tasty and among the better South Indian options in the Bay Area. The staff here are courteous and polite, especially Nikita, who always greets with a smile and makes the experience warmer. Service can be on the slower side, and some seating areas feel a bit tight, but the overall environment is clean and well-maintained, including the restrooms. Prices are slightly higher compared to other Indian restaurants, but the quality and consistency make it worth it. Overall, a good spot in the Bay Area for authentic South Indian food.

Mysore Kara dosa and babycorn Manchurian were good. The best dosa we had was paneer dosa!! Spring rolls were ok. Mysore park dessert was awesome!

Amazing place for dosa, veg starters were decent. They have patio seating if you prefer it. The service was pleasant, and the restaurant itself was very clean. You place your order via a QR code accessed menu, and payments can be processed through the same system.

This review is for their thali. Although there were different varieties of curries and dals, everything pretty much tasted the same with a slight variation of spice and sourness. After some time all the flavors just blend in and I had no idea which curry or sambar I was eating. Needless to say I was a bit disappointed and I think this was a miss.

Good dosas and chole bhature. I’ve been here many times and I really like the basic tiffin items. Wait time depends on the day, it’s more crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. About a 20 min wait. Otherwise, it’s pretty free. I would recommend to not experiment as I’ve had a poor success rate. The curry leaf idly was very bad and the chilly paneer starter was also bad. Stick to the basics and you’ll be good.

The service is great. Very helpful staff. The menu is all via QR code but there is no cell service inside and Wifi doesn't work for everyone there so it was a bit of a hassle. They have external seating too but the place can be packed during lunch hours. The food was fine. Not great for sure. I like Madras Cafe in Sunnyvale. Their chutney and sambhar are far tastier. The place doesn't take cash for bills but the tip has to be in cash. Which was so interesting indeed.

a nice and clean restaurant, with decent food. the sambar was good, the tomato chutney was nice but the other two were pretty bland. the uttapam was good, the two exceptional items thought would be the multi millet dosa which was genuinely very tasty and the idli which was very well made. The paneer itself in the chili paneer was good and you could taste the fresh paneer flavor, but the chili paneer sauce was too sweet and lacked flavor. I also think the quantity of chutney and sambar wasn’t enough for the food, and we had to buy more. It’s a decent place but I don’t anticipate coming again.

How the mighty have fallen! I remember driving around the Aavin circle to the original AAB in Adayar, eager to relish in their perfectly composed south Indian food. Now, it feels like they have bitten off more than they can chew in attempts to pander to everyone, and in that process, have lost their roots. The idli was not up to mark. I am sorry. For an entity deriving their culinary DNA from Madras, this one protein of the DNA must be perfect. It was not alright. Passable. I didn't come to A2B to eat passable idlis with a "curry" (I felt like experimenting and got that instead of the usual sambar/chutney) that was barely sufficient for 2 idlis. The parota appeared to be rightly flaky, but pretty much disintegrated on my plate like a chicken shot with canon ball. And the whole time the texture was not agreeable. I figured I should give the basics a shot and ordered (easily with their web page) a plate of pongal. Sadly, it was not the consistency that is usually served - almost paste-like consistency. The flavors were there, but the ginger and pepper were silent as if punished for being too bold and asked to stand outside the class. The chutney did not work for me either. Perhaps, the Thailand coconuts were to blame. Overall, A2B should go back to their roots and fix the basics. There is no need to have a "live panipuri" station and try to cater to every cuisine variety from India.

During my visit to cal, we visited a2b hoping to have a at home taste preference... We were really disappointed with the taste .. it was not a good food experience we had... On the contrary we found mylapore cafe to have authentic food taste. I would never recommend this restaurant was not happy with the Indian thali that I ordered, no salt in sambar and the other curries was not even close to a2b standards

Reducing my rating from 5 to 1 based on recent visit, everything was below average and overpriced. No ventilation, dirty plates, small portions, increased prices for less. Value for money is zero. Dosa dinner for 4 costs $100?!!

The dosa and South Indian dishes are good. Chole bhature was ok ok. The chana was not good enough and quantity was less. The samosa chaat was good. The drinks of rose milk and badam milk were good too. The Pura Poli was very bad.. It was very hard and a test for our teeth! The filling jaggery was good but the outer maida cover was so hard and a test of our teeth! On the whole, ok ok, not good enough.. Probably other places like idli Express, anjappar, mylapore, uluvacharu tiffins will be better. Also bought some Togo packs of Mysore Pak, badusha, thattai, karasev and ribbon pakoda. They were all very poor quality. Definitely not the Bangalore A2B where I loved everything. A lot more improvement needed! Only for idli and dosa, we've so many other good competitors here.
