Favorite place to eat quickly. It is affordable and reasonable price w loading amount food. The food here has big serving size w amazing taste. The service was rlly good(we got a free drink lol). The restaurant overall is soo cute, styled w cute cat miniatures. I’ll definitely recommend trying out here!!
Excellent food and counter service. Got one of the craft bowls. This time got the 811 which with albacore. With all of their bowls, you can get rice or mixed greens or half if each which is my favorite. They also sell some cut Japanese bags and mug sets with cats. Hard to resist. Been here several times and everything has been very good so far especially for the price craft bowl combo is the best because with it you get to choose any of their bowls with soft shell crab (my favorite) or brussel sprouts (my wife’s favorite). Combo is only $2 more which is a great deal. People who work there are friendly too! Clean simple nice atmosphere.
Always a pleasure stopping by for a quick bite. Great value and great taste. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuna and their Crab Onigiri.
I’m thrilled to have decided to try this place for lunch, we’d likely to come back again soon. Plenty of easy parking outside, and the store looked clean and well organized from the outside. We walked into upbeat music, clean tables, and neatly organized drinks and snacks shelves. There is a poster for $2 hot sake specials which I might try it next time, ha ha. Ordering: since it’s my first time, I was slightly overwhelmed by the selections and options. My recommendation is to try one of the combos which simply means a main bowl plus an “age” (means fried appetizer items). The bowls are basically sushi without the seaweed. With that in mind, everything simplified a bit for me. Food: I kept it simple with California bowl (half rice and half salad) with fried blue crab combo, it was excellent. I’d probably come back and try something like salmon skin hand roll which my sister highly recommended. My wife had classic eel & avocado bowl with calamari, it was also very tasty. She had salad only without rice, and would prefer to have salad dressing on the side next time. We also shared a passion fruit ice tea from the frig, it was pretty good, too. Service was professional, the lady brought our food out for us fairly quickly. Restroom was clean, with touch less sink with cool integrated dryer.
After driving past this spot countless times, I finally decided to give it a try—and I’m so glad I did. This unassuming restaurant truly delivers fantastic food, and the glowing reviews are well-deserved. I ordered the Super Hoka bowl (spicy tuna, eel, and shrimp tempura) with half rice and half salad. The salad dressing was extraordinary—easily the best I’ve ever tasted. The eel was tender and perfectly cooked, the spicy tuna was premium quality, and the shrimp tempura was crispy, complemented by an amazing sauce. I chose the combo with portobello mushroom tempura, which was hands down the best tempura I’ve ever had. The accompanying mayo sauce was absolutely exquisite. The portions were generous, even for someone with a large appetite like me (I’m 6’3”). My wife had the same craft bowl but opted for karaage chicken, which was equally delicious, with large, satisfying portions. Just to be safe, I also ordered the tuna mayo and blue crab onigiri. Both were fantastic—the seaweed, furikake, rice, and fillings were perfectly balanced. Torrance is lucky to have this gem of a restaurant, offering excellent Japanese food at such reasonable prices. I’ll definitely be back!
First time coming here and definitely not my last. The calamari, perfectly crispy as well as the soft shell crab! Not to mention the California bowl!! Perfect bite every time. Can’t forget they sell beer too!! I’m making this my weekly spot!!! Awesome Hoka Hoka 👏
Super flavorful food. Cute Japanese-themed merchandise. Fast and friendly.
Awesome hidden gem right off of Sepulveda. Onigiri is top notch with great textured rice and flavorful fillings. Prices were all reasonable too. Can't wait to come back!
Amazing food, great service and atmosphere! Fish was so fresh and portions were generous. Highly recommend the Rainbow bowl and brown sugar milk tea.
Wonderful vibes! Excellent food and service! But above all that the store has a lot of great souvenirs. I picked up this glass instant ramen maker myself and it came with FREE choice of ramen!! I think I will using this a lot. I would be definitely recommending this store.
My first time there and it was great. I ordered "Jessica" and look forward to bringing family and friends and trying other menu items. Also the employee was super nice and even brought my order outside for me after I had stepped out.
Food is great! Came here for lunch, great tuna and tempura bowl. Had the fried Eel, it was awesome. Also got the salmon bowl pictured below. Prices are great, new and very clean place. Highly recommend.
My kids love eating Oginiri! This was the closest location where we were at and we will totally come back when in the area.
Service was amazing. I really didn’t expect much but was blow away by how good the food and drinks were. The matcha was excellent as well as their fruity drink

It was honestly so good, and we need to collectively keep them in business here. No one is doing sushi-style bowls like these - ingredients were super fresh and high quality. It was 10/10 all around. There is also cute goodies you can peruse while they prepare your food fresh. So worth the wait. I will be back!
Just found Hoka Hoka Exoress and I will go back! Very fresh and tasty food and good quantity for the price! I had the “Normandie Craft Bowl”—it will be hard to try something else and not just order this again!
Spider man is delicious. The auntie working there is also very nice. The restaurant is so clean and pleasant to be inside. They really take care of everything with perfection and it shows!

Korean owned Japanese lunch bento box style. Portion is good and the quality is good. We really enjoyed their tempura. It's a bit pricey for a quick to-go lunch ($15-20 per person), but it's worth it. Will return!
This place is decent for Japanese rice bowls. I got the rainbow bowl to try out all the different variety of meats. The portions were decent sized and the food was good overall. The staff was very nice. The store has other things they sell like chips and accessories and other things besides their main menu. Almost like a mini convenience store. The decor is all wood and typical of a place that sells this kind of food.

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS - Ended up in the ER I am writing this as a severe warning to anyone considering eating here. After eating at this poke spot, I suffered from severe food toxicity that resulted in me being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. My blood pressure plummeted to dangerous levels, causing me to faint. Luckily the IV fluids and electrolytes rescued me. I spent the next two days bedridden and vomiting uncontrollably. This wasn't just a "stomach ache"—it was a life-threatening medical emergency. Please, do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Health and safety are clearly not a priority here.
