Opiniones de Carney's Restaurant West Hollywood
Throughout my tour around America, I've had many burgers that have been nice but haven't quite come close to the burgers found around Australia. Not only does this best Australian burgers, it would have to be one of the best burgers I've had. I would highly recommend ordering a half pound burger and if you have the hunger for it, order the train wreck fries along with it.
Iconic Hollywood landmark. Food was good, their “Trainwreck” fries are the same as In N Out animal fries but better. The hot dogs are premium. Burgers are very good. And you can’t beat free parking. I can’t wait to go again.
This place is very, very amazing. My mom Céline Xavier de Oliveira turned one cow 🐄 when she ate de hot dog “ The LA Dog” 🌭.
I've gone to have lunch here since it opened in the late 1970's. The food has always been great. People of different ages go there. I actually met with a customer I used to talk to when the place opened. If ever I want a chili cheese burger I go to Carney's on Sunset. I drive all the way from Playa Del Rey just to enjoy the food there.
Honestly pretty iconic little spot. Everything was fresh and the employees are bilingual, so I felt even more at home seeing raza here! We came here with our family after hanging out on the strip. We recommend everyone to try the ‘Train Wreck Fries’ just as good as the animal style fries at in-n-out. I personally got the chili cheese burger and chili fries. My friend got the polish carney hot dog with chili which in her words she said was “big, juicy, and spicy” 😂 My mother enjoyed the Chicagoan hot dog. Besides the food it was pretty cool eating in a train 😎🔥🔥 Definitely coming back!
haven't had a Carney's chili cheeseburger in a few years I forgot how good it was. I've eaten all the socal chili burger spots, this is the best. Double chili cheeseburger with cheese and chili only add ketchup. Been eating at Carney's since the late 90s when I was in high school at the studio city location, throughout all these years I don't think their burger has changed at all.
Carney’s is an old favorite of mine for the classic DOUBLE CHILLI CHEESE burger. Also included is a picture of their hungry planet burger which is a veggie burger. There is nothing fancy about this joint. It’s basic. Look at the menu before arriving a fast is a good thing when they are busy. This burger is really firing off flavor when it hits your mouth. Just visiting Los Angeles? Don’t miss this one. As of 11/15/2021 those two boxes 2 burgers and 2 large fries and 2 drinks was about $36.00 One of the pure burger joints in Los Angeles that serves beer.
Authentic Chili at it's Finest. Service is Excellent and The Atmosphere is very relaxed and Vibrant. A Good Restaurant for the entire Family
Awesome restaurant located in an old train car. Some of the best fries I’ve ever had and really tasty hotdogs!
Absolutely a must go-to spot! Staff is extremely friendly and funny. The environment is kid friendly. Food is absolutely delicious!! Had the new plant based burger and it was AMAZEBALLS!!! Absolutely delicious and juicy like a real beef patty. Their chicken Thai wrap is an also must have if your a fan of Asian inspired foods. My brother got the chili cheese burger with extra pickles and they aren’t skimpy with their toppings which is very pleasant when you’re feeling like a fatty... if you ask for well done fries (I prefer the sweet potato) they make them WELL DONE very crispy on the outside and soft and warm inside. They have a parking lot with one way in and one way out so be cautious it’s a little tricky. Restrooms are well kept. Very clean. Great food great environment!
Super cool experience with vegetarian options (the vegan burger was great!), highly recommend the train wreck fries too. Great customer service, even the security guard in the parking lot was really nice! Cool "train like" dining experience with reasonable prices. Great experience!
I loved the environment of this place. It had amazing music, was clean, great lighting and the food was delicious and well portioned. Did want to mention that although the food was delicious, it was very similar to In and Out. Which is not a bad thing. Just an observation that is not meant to steer anyone from it. The experience you'll have is one I think people would enjoy and have a fun memory from.
Very good place that I had the opportunity to stop there to take my lunch. As a Uber driver I always pass for a lot of places and this one was on my list of restaurants to go try. And I had tried them plant based hamburger vegetarian “hungry planet burger” that was amazing looks and tasty (see the picture with all ingredients it’s have). They got a really good ambient with a great staffs who are prompt to attend you and give to you a good food suggestions. They have a great out side and interior area as well to take your seat to enjoy them amazing food 😃.
Haha so two firsts in one burger. Maybe 3. Chili, with a hot dog, wrapped in lettuce. Pretty bomb. Then I overheard someone order a tuna melt. A secret love of mine so I got one of those as well. To cap the affair I got a chocolate dipped frozen banana. Also they have a pretty good size parking lot.
The food was delicious. First time eating here. My boys enjoyed eating in the train car. Ordered a Double cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly the meat was juicy and flavorful. Fries were delicious beautiful golden brown color and not burnt. Kids got the Chili Dogs and Carney Fries. All delicious 😋
🍟Wow! This cute little train place is such an iconic West Hollywood restaurant.. 🍔I was tired and hungry and they happened to open at 11 pm Saturday I was randomly thinking & craving some chinese chicken salad i cant eat a lot of things and I was so happy that they actually had it!! And they made it with love & super super delicious might I add.. soo good! 🌭The hamburgers and hotdogs with chili seemed super delicious- kinda of jealous.. but its okay! Omg!! The cooks were so delightful and made everything yummy! Thanks so much.. sorry i only have one photo for you guys!! A MUST GO TO!!
Classic burger joint, with also hot dogs and a few other delicacies - even a veggie option. Their train wreck fries are a must-try. You can sit inside the wagon or outside under sun umbrellas. Friendly staff, relatively quick service, clean kitchen. Don't miss out on this Sunset Blvd institution!
5 stars less for the food but for their business longevity, for the iconic location, unique building (a real rail car) and for the nostalgia of it all. With that said, the food is solid, 4 Stars for sure, great burgers, better hot dogs than Pink’s, yes I said it, fresh lemonade and they even have beer on draft. Along with plentiful, free and easy parking and a friendly staff, what more do you want? Add it to your regular rotation if you’re a true Angeleno.
This was local to my hotel so had to drop in an give it a go. Wasn’t disappointed its unique setting and vibe were great, the guys working there super friendly and the food was amazing and served up quickly. The Burger was amazing with a side of chilli fries loaded with chilli and cheese, and a beer hit the spot. Well worth a visit
This was a cool place to check out! I love a good burger and these were fantastic. Love that they will cook it to the rarity of my choice; I was pleasantly surprised when they even asked me. We also ordered sweet potato fries and they came out piping hot and were delicious. Plus the "building" they are in is an actual locomotive train... I was blown away. Some places will have a small train or something cute, but the whole operation is in one. Fantastic job and the cashier was friendly and having fun flipping cups and throwing lid tops and catching them. Can definitely recommend this place!
Walked past it many, many times... finally went in on this trip...so glad I did. Since the sign said best hamburgers & hot dogs, I ordered one of each... while the hamburger was good, the chili dog was fantastic. Crisp dog, classic mid-west chili, and nice steamed bun. And the fries were good too! Had a nice weather day to enjoy them under an umbrella on one of the picnic tables outside.
Finally had the time to stop by. Decided to take a trip down memory lane when we used to go to Tower Records then to Carney's. I always enjoyed watching the cars go down Sunset Blvd on a clear day. The food is good but the location makes up for any short comings. They have benches for dining outside. I had a Chicagoan hot dog, burger and a lemonade. The hot dogs have a pork casing so they crunch when you bite them. They use to have a webcam that showed the cars driving by on Sunset Blvd. 10/16/18 stopped by since I was in the area and craving a chili dog. I always enjoy this place
Finally got around to trying Carney's. It's such a cool cozy concept for a burger place and I loved every moment of it. The converted train car makes a perfect burger joint. And of course they have good burgers. I had a double cheeseburger but would love to go back again to try the chili burger as it seems to be what they are more known for. Quick service and friendly guys working there. Big fan!
One of my favorite spots, workers are polite, and the food is good, if you haven't had their train wreck fries and there chili cheese burger its awesome! I love the atmosphere 80's music and a.great place to chill and have a good burger
Carney's / chili, mustard, onion, tomatoes - 5 🌟! Chicagoan / mustard, relish, onions - 5 🌟! Crispy fries - 5 🌟! Carney's is a Los Angeles icon and has served the city and many tourists hot dogs and hamburgers for multiple generations. Since it is the 4th of July weekend, that felt like a great time to stop by. I have been many times over the years and it always hits the spot. The hot dogs are grilled on a flat top and for me that is a flavor enhancer. The chili is excellent. The fries are nice and crispy. The train car setting is always fun to see even after my many years living in LA. I used to commute through the area years ago and I always liked using Carney's as a milestone.
such a classic vibe! been coming here since i was a kid. the chili always has me coming back for more. the vibe and aesthetic of the restaurant adds to the vibe . the food is burger joint style and the workers there are kind and fun. We ended up getting a chili burger some chili fries and a chili hotdog (the carneys) . everything was great ! very satisfied with the experience.
Carney's in my opinion has the best burger in town, the service is excellent and the food is fresh and tasty, the atmosphere is great but I generally don't prefer places that accept pets inside the restaurant let's admit that some people have allergies and some don't want a dog barking all the time while they are enjoying their food.
We’ve been to the Studio City one We saw this restaurant on HBO on the movie entourage We didn’t wait long we came at night I didn’t take too long to get our food. everything was hot and fresh. We were able to get a seat. We enjoyed our dining experience and if we’re ever in the neighborhood will be coming back.
What a find! On our way to beverly hills, we found this place! Free parking, really tasty food for a great price. The cashier and kitchen staff were so kind. Cashier recommended cheese burger with jalapeños ans bacon and chili. It was soo delish! Fun dining experience in the train car! They've been there for 50 years! highly recommend! Thanks for being g a great stop on our hollywood adventure!
I was staying at a nearby hotel with my two kids and noticed all the great reviews, so we decided to give this place a try. It exceeded my expectations. A casual spot with the best chili burgers and fries I’ve had. Prices are very reasonable, and everything was absolutely delicious. I can’t say enough good things about it.
Had some of the most freshly made and tasty food here when in LA. Was about to walk past when decided to go in and glad I did, chicked salad and double cheese burger and fries was beautiful. Added a beer it was a lovely meal. As it was later in the evening only another couple inside but ghe peace was nice, away from the strip.
Carney’s on Sunset Boulevard offers classic L.A. indulgence in a nostalgic rail‑car setting paired with unapologetically messy, gloriously flavorful eats. Their Red Eye chili dog, a spicy Polish sausage drenched in rich chili, onions, mustard, tomato, and pickles is a “delicious, flavorful, balanced gloopy mess”. The hamburgers, juicy and topped with savory chili, are equally unmissable comfort food at its most iconic. No trip to LA is complete until you go to Carney’s on Sunset.
I made a long-overdue visit to Carney's. Carney's is regarded as one of the best Chili Cheese Dogs in Los Angeles. I knew I needed to see for myself. I'll say for the pricing and sheer magnitude of the chili cheese dog. It is a pretty reasonable deal. It comes with a generous amount of chili on the dog. It comes with two slices of fresh, juicy tomatoes. The chili is rather wet. It contains a reasonable amount of spice, although it is not particularly spicy. It was not the best chili cheese dog I've tasted. The Train Wreck Fries are practically an identical replica of In n' Out's Animal Style fries. The chili cheeseburger was quite excellent. It was fairly solid.
While visiting San Diego, I discovered this burger joint, it's a refreshing departure from your typical chain locations. All we had were burgers and fries, and they were pretty good! The flavors were on point, and it's evident they put effort into creating a good dining experience. The service was okay; the staff wasn't rude or anything, but they were mostly focused on efficiently taking orders and delivering food. Personally, I've always believed that excellent food paired with great service makes a significant difference in the overall dining experience, however, despite the service being just okay, the good taste of the burgers more than made up for it. I would definitely go again to enjoy a good burger and fries!
Cool location with the train. Very friendly staff and the food was great. It's right off Walk of Fame so nice to grab a bite there.

Loved our meal here, nice historic railway carriage, good service and great food. What more do you want?
I had a standard hot dog, delicious. Also, the atmosphere of the store is very stylish.
Iconic train restaurant you could take your out of towners to. You can dine inside or outside next to Sunset Blvd. after a full day in Hollywood. I had the Chili Cheeseburger which I had more hopes for, but I think it just isn’t for me, which is ok. I really liked the Trainwreck fries and the Chicagoer Hotdog and the rest of my party liked their burgers. Parking is behind the restaurant as well, and its free.
Great food. I wound up getting a regular Carney’s Hot Dog. I got mine with just chili, tomato, and onions (it normally comes with mustard and ketchup as well). I paid a little under $7 from my recollection; which is on the higher side for a regular sized hot dog, but it was really good so I didn’t mind. Fries were amazing and cooked to perfection.
How often can you say you ate inside of a train car ? Amazing hot dogs and hamburgers, chili fries or cheese fries... cool retro vibes and great picture experience...two train cars side by side turned into a restaurant...heard about this place from Big Bang Theory's Sheldon...kiddos loved the train experience.
First time coming here and we ordered the burgers. They were super moist and flavorful. The French fries are great but plain so you can add your own salt and dips. The trainwreck fries were amazing. They have grilled onions, American cheese, thousand island sauce and were devoured quickly. There is a small bathroom inside you can sit outside and eat or they offer inside dining The staff was super helpful and quick with the food. Very busy there on a Saturday night. Check them out. Worth a stop for a great burger.
A diner style setting inside the train is pretty neat. Big menu if you like chili topped on your hotdogs, hamburgers and fries. We had mostly Carney hotdogs. I had mine with everything and I had to eat some of it with a fork. Servings are pretty generous. Cool place for kids because tables are right by the windows. Pretty tight space when it's really busy, you may want to dine outside. Parking is very limited so keep your eye out for alternate places to park.
We seem to come here every 10 years lol, last time with mama and family was August 2015…today, mama and I! still as good we remembered, perhaps better back then. snappy hot dogs, except the buns should at least be slightly grilled/toasted as they were kind of soggy, decent chile, fresh hot fries, both sweet and regular. Great accommodating service! See ya in maybe 10 more years. 😝
You're eating hamburgers and hotdogs with a clear view of Sunset Blvd sitting in a railcar. Whats not to like? Prices are fair and the food? Its hotdogs and hamburgers people. You want gourmet? Go somewhere else. I tried the single hamburger and chili cheese fries. I was satisfied with both. Parking is in the rear and somewhat limited. You can also find street parking or paid lots nearby. Its been over 15 years since I've been here.
This is a well known spot in Los Angeles with its unique restaurant inside a vintage Union Pacific train car. They’re famous for their chili dogs, and chili burgers. We loved the chili dishes the burgers are average. If you happen to be in the area give it a try for the experience.
Carney’s is one of those places that should (and used to) exist in every large city. A place where late at night every type of person gathers for some yummy and bad for you food in a unique environment. Dining in a train car is awesome, the food is really solid and service is fast. I get that it is busy, but really the only negative is that it could have been cleaner - someone wiping down the tables, emptying trash, etc. I can’t wait to go back!
This place was opposite our hotel so we decided to pop in for a quick bite one evening. It always looked busy and so we thought we would give it a try. The service was casual, the guys working were fine but not overly friendly. We ordered 2 cheeseburgers with fries and Pepsi to go. The food tasted really good and the prices were very good value for money considering the LA area. Our bill came to $34 in total.

Just got back. Great location. Great train car. It’s a gold mine. The place should be bright, clean, and vibrant. Instead it’s grubby, dark, and depressing. I kid you not: the dude who gave me my hot dog was wearing a plastic glove on one hand. He opened the steamer and reached in for my two hot dogs WITH THE UNGLOVED HAND. So gross.
Sooo...I'm not sure if it was the weekday type food or what, I had such a high expectation for this place, I mean come on its in a train..in Hollywood..hotdogs!!! How hard could it be to mess up a hotdog? I took a bite and it was like biting into a plastic bag, besides that would it be too much to ask them to dice up the tomato, come on we in Sunset Blvd ain't no one got time for that chunky mess! Now for them 🍟, dont they look nice and pretty, well not every thing is what it seems that cheese was no nachos cheese it was a sandwich cheese melted on them fries...a microwave melted sandwich cheese and it was not no Kraft cheese but that nasty plastic looking cheese! I will leave it at that cus my kiddos read my reviews and I must be nice! But I do think everyone deserves the truth, the place honestly has soooo much potential but the owner seems to have let it go! It really is a beautiful concept and nice looking! The hamburger was actually decent! Hope they put alot more effort in their food, especially for what I paid:/
Went there tonight. Ordered a 1/2lb burger and a chicken sandwich with fries and a drink. Price was great, atmosphere was great, food was about on par with in n out. Reason for 1 star was service! 5 people who ordered after me got their food first. Took 25 minutes from the time of order (per the text I receive when my credit card is run) for me to get my food. The menue is basic so there's no need for it to take this long (keep in mind I don't tip until the end but this is one of those places who has you sign the receipt, which has a tip line, at the time of order). My wife and I both asked multiple times what's taking so long and we kept being told it's next... after a few times they were eventually right. What I did notice though, was at the time of order, I did not include a tip (wanted to finish the experience and food before I rewarded). The cashier made a note on our order as I walked away and he also stacked other orders boxes on top of purs. I'd suspect this is what it took so long. Hopefully the facility can figure out their processes, timeliness, nepotism and provide the same level of service as the quality of their food!
