Quinoa y Amaranto

Beautiful little restaurant in the Candelaria neighborhood of Bogota. There is no a la carte menu, simply a vegetarian and meat option for the menu del día. I had a stuffed pepino (same family as the cucumber) with rice and vegetable protein served with a kale salad. The meal included a delicious soup with vegetables and quinoa, a cup of tea and a little fruit marmalade for desert. At 24.000 pesos it was a bit more than the average menu del día in Colombia which tend to be 15.000 - 17.000, but the high quality ingredients, relaxed environment and vegetarian option make it well worth the additional expense.

Great vegetarian day manu for a fair price. We had a broccoli soup with roasted potatoe flakes. As main dish potatoes, Tofu and a mix of vegetables with a salad and as dessert fruits in a kind of syrup. Everything came fast and taste excellent! I can totally recommend this restaurant.

It’s a preset menu and you don’t have to break your head. Everyday they have different options. It’s mostly vegetarian but can be adjusted to vegan. Everything form starter to desert is yummy 😋 and fresh. Highly recommend.

Tiny place for a delicious vegan set lunch changing daily with soup, main dish, hot drink, and dessert. I’ve been twice and really enjoyed it.

From beginning to end the best dining experience I have had.. ever. 2 travellers from Europe, 8 months into our South America adventure found this place for sunday lunch. The setting is a beautiful little cosy restaurant with two floors. The menu del dia consisted of aromatic green and mint tea, green soup (veggies) - absolutely delicious possibly the best soup ive ever had, mains of tabbouleh with mash and barbecued skewered veggies with deliciously spiced saitan and a pineapple dessert. Every bite was jam packed with fresh fragrant flavours seasoned to perfection! 18k cop per person. Unbelievable value for money! felt like a 5 star dining experience. To top it off the staff were so inviting it felt like home, and the owner has amazing people skills. Wish we found this place earlier!

loved this place, we found peace, tradition, Harmony. we had a classic ajiaco, but vegan. it was just amazing, so tasty. there was no music, and we really appreciated it, we were able to properly enjoy our meal and even to hear the rain outside. will totally come back

This place redefines set menus and "farm to fork". I accidentally ended up at this place without knowing that they offer a set menu. The set menu was unlike anything which I have ever tried in a good way - drop all the pretentiousness and extravagance of set meals / chefs menus; and ramp up all the goodness of creative recipes which are seasonal and benefit the local supply chain - that's this place for you. Kudos to the concept and the service as well

Really nice place with fresh ingredients. Great for vegetarians. I had the vego menu of the day which was a large hearty soup followed by a quinoa spinach bake with salad, small desert and tea (27k). My partner had the Ajiaco menu (29k) and loved it. It’s also a very cute place with little upstairs dining area.

I tried the menu del dia which was a tasty lasagna (though wish it had more cheese, whether vegan or vegetarian), salad, small dessert, tea and quinoa soup. The price (35K) was higher than other places with menu del dia, but this is in a touristy area and the atmosphere was nice. The service was quick.

The most amazing place!! Highly recommend. The kitchen was already closed when I arrived but Angela offered me some quinoa soup. Angela was so warm and welcoming and it was the best soup I’ve had in a very long time!! The picture doesn’t do it justice, but trust me it’s made with love.

I didn't check the menu, I just chose the menu of the day, menu del dia, which was vegetable soup (tasty) and lentil balls with potatoes, peanut sauce and avocado salad. Very affordable prices. Quinua Y Amaranto restaurant serves delicious homemade and fresh vegetarian food. The place serves a set menu that changes every day. It typically includes a soup, main dish, and a light desert (commonly treated fruit) and is served with a cup of tea. Even with the set menu, the restaurant was able to accommodate gluten free dietary restrictions. No alcohol is served at the restaurant. The place has a large room with a few tables and a kitchen as soon as visitors open the door. Please note the restaurant only accepts CASH. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is very pleasant. We plan to be back and highly recommend it.

The vegetarian restaurant with good vibes but simple food without too much seasoning. Not so tasty but healthy. The pasta could be improved with more smoothly taste (it is kinda too dry and soft). The soup is amazing but it would be better with some black paper. It’s located in the la candelria area, which has lots of old historical buildings.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, made with quality ingredients, and the service was quick. It’s nice to see they also offer vegetarian options, and the drinks were very good as well. Prices felt fair and closer to the lower end, especially considering the quality. The staff were friendly, and overall the place has a welcoming vibe. There were a couple of small downsides: at the beginning it was a bit messy to get seated, and having to go upstairs to the upper floor felt slightly uncomfortable. Still, these were minor issues and didn’t affect the meal much. They accept card, cash, bank transfer, and Nequi, which is very convenient. Overall, a solid and enjoyable place to eat, and definitely worth checking out. It is cool to see how they prepare the food, the kitchen is the first thing you see when you enter the place.
