Excellent location. Food and drinks are good all the time. They then to offer special deals. It has an outdoor patio when you feel like having dinner outside or a couple of drinks with your friends.
Great authentic Mexican food, there is great pride taken in this place.if anyone has a bad thing or bad reviews that don't know any better.
I did not have to wait very long for my food. Nice and clean place. The bathroom was also clean
Great meals, quick service. Days before I ordered a combo of crispy tacos and i got just one taco :). The menu outside should be changed and specify that you are ordering only one taco. That day I was hungry and I got crispy tacos at Taco Bell across the street.
Not bad, actually had as good done in experience..me and my girlfriend ate in..I convinced her of a cheat day from her vegan routine...she still went vegetarian and had a veggie pizza...I had bacon and mushrooms...IT WAS SO GOOD !... I told her when we pick up for take out it's always greasy by the time we get it home but as we dined in it was perfect..hot and greasles..I was surpprised... along with a cold Dr. Pepper it made a great new years treat.
Always fast, delicious, and placent place to eat at any time during the day
Best Taco Palenque in Laredo. Crew full of energy and the manager is always in sight. I've never had a problem here. The only bad thing is the prices for all their locations are very high.
Buy breakfast tacos 4 days out of the week and papa wit egg tacos are best ... my favorite 😋
It was great but when I asked for fajita on my plate extra . They charge me close to 5 dollars now I don't mind paying but like only 6 small piece really. Wow. It was great but it's to much for the extra . Will think twice on going again. Sorry
They make a mean burrito! Their home made chips and salsa are great. This place can definitely make you eat more than you planned.
The food and staff are great! Mainly for night shift quick runs to drive thru. Never had an issue whatsoever. Will keep going every night I can.
Went for the 50% special, so it was packed I wait almost an hour. I'm giving 5 star because I got exactly what I asked for even the salsas. The food was excellent and the tacos were packed. Excellent food and service even when being as busy as they were this day.
I always get drive thru. Usually I get the same lady and I go 4 times a week ..she's always so sweet and nice. My order is always fast
I know it's generic for me to say the same thing about every Taco Palenque I go to in Texas (let alone in Laredo), but I'm still glad y'all serve great food. I used to work at the Round Rock location and I enjoyed my time with them. It wasn't until this month that I tried the drive-thru experience. Food is still amazing. Of course, I went inside when I originally tried Taco Palenque for the first time back in August. Back then (and I still stand by this statement) I said that between Austin and San Antonio regarding taco wars, Laredo wins.
The best Taco Palenque in Laredo. Many memories of my younger years in the 80s on San Bernardo on a Friday night. It sure has gotten expensive, though. I think it's close to $20 for a Tampeqeña Plate.
“That was quite an impressive meal!” - My Wife Sooooo tasty. Freshly made flour tortillas. Avocado salsa from heaven. Tres leches cake with a more caramel-y flavor. Tacos with large portions of tasty, quality meat.
Always good Mexican food here. The store was clean and presentable. My favorite is the Palenque Bowl. The jamaica is tasty too. Well known fajitas. Only thing that they can improve on is the prices.
The service was fast and everything was very clean in the dining area and the bathrooms! Good selection of salsas to go with the good. The potato and egg breakfast taco combo comes with two tacos and a coffee and is very delicious and economical, potatoes were very soft and yummy. Fajita plate was excellent as well. Coffee nice and hot. Will be returning to this location!
Still a great place for a quick lunch/dinner. The place does need another remodeling or they need to take better care of it.
Best Service ever. That's why myself. N Bus Partners. We stop there so our Customers can enjoy a meal 😋 before getting to Houston Texas.
They always have margaritas, and the food is excellent
The lady that took care of me she was awesome but other days they are very very slow and not helpful. Wish this same lady that took care of me let to see her more. She's very polite and helpful.
Placed an order online for pickup and was ready at the time it stated it would be. Staff were friendly yet attentive and the cleanliness was great during the short time I was there. Food was delicious and love having a sauce/veggies bar for your meal.
This establishment maintains a high level of cleanliness. The food was delicious and authentically prepared in the Mexican style. The flavors were well-balanced and the ingredients tasted fresh. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a satisfying meal. The overall dining experience was quite enjoyable.
Beautiful ballroom. Catering was spectacular. Restrooms were clean but the toilet paper should have been placed in the dispenser. Really is my only complaint. There was another event in the east room and their sound seemed to over power the west room in some cases but I'm sure it was the same for the guests on the other side. Nothing too major.
The food is really good but the wait in the drive-thru is horrendous. If you're going for lunch it may be best to choose somewhere else because you might spend upwards of 20 minutes in line.
Not bad at all, but you better be ready to pay out of your "metaphorical wiener". Place is expensive as hell! $4.95 for a pirata!! If you got money to burn, just don't like money, or named Scrooge McDuck, then some on over. Really good food here, pricey, but good.
They give you chips and a variety of good tasting in hot sauces to go with your food. My husband and daughter tasted the horchata Pastor favorite drink and they stated it was very authentic and sweet.
Food was good like all the other TP's in Laredo but unfortunately I dont habla espanol so I had trouble ordering. It almost seemed like the guy just wanted me to speak spanish because at the end he repeated my order in english. Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe another employee stepped in and helped me in english. Either way the food was good. Pricey yes, but when I can afford it.
Delicious all around. Open late. If you're vegan you'll love the salsa bar. Free tortilla chips and endless combinations of things to put on them.
Food is always delicious. Service is quick and restaurant is very clean. Convenient location. Parking can be ify at times but we'll worth it.
Slow drive thru at 11:00 a.m. 2 cars left line. Always order huevos Ranchero plate.and coffee. The free coffee is no longer with the plate. And the sauce for the eggs was different not to tasty like many other times before. They did not have decaf coffee so had i went next door to McDonald's for decaffeinated coffee. Price still good .
First time going to this place. I ordered the fajita plate and was pleasantly surprised. It was good and the tortillas were very tasty. Nit bad at all for a fast food restaurant.
Taco had good food. The service is decent. However, on several occasions, they have forgotten food in my orders. The Tres Leches cake is delicious and really enjoy their breakfast tacos. It is a little pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants.
I was very disappointed. Cashier didn't even saw thank you. The table was dirty and the salt shaker had food on it. With so many employees, someone needs to be in charge of cleanliness. Not to mention the parking lot had buckets filled with rocks that were tipped over and blocked the parking spaces.
Great tasting food but can get pricey pretty quick for simple tacos.
LOVE TACO PALENQUE! FOOD IS GREAT! Service at this location is HORRIBLE. Drive thru is very slow and if you walk in to order you wait at least 15 - 20 min standing at the front counter before anyone comes to take your order. Employees see you standing there and just ignore you! The person in front of me left without ordering, said they only have an hour to eat and 15 to 20 mins wasted no one came to take his order! This kind of horrible service is 24/7. Wished their corporate office would get BETTER MANAGEMENT at this location.
I love the food, but I have be to take a star, because pricing increased & serving sizes decreased, even containers for to go food decreased in sizes. The taste of the food is great, but because of prices, I am an infrequent visitor. When I believed I was getting my money's worth, I frequented the place. The place is always clean, & people enjoy being there.
Great Tex-Mex food for a reasonable price. But you must always double check the online to-go orders. They have a free salad bar.
Taco Palenque’s caldo de res is a hearty and flavorful dish that truly hits the spot. The presentation is colorful, with a variety of fresh vegetables, including corn, zucchini, carrots, green beans, and chickpeas, all simmered in a rich broth. The broth itself is well-seasoned with just the right amount of spices, offering a comforting balance of savory flavors without being too overpowering. The chunks of tender beef are plentiful, cooked to perfection, and fall apart easily with every bite. One of the highlights of this dish is the corn, which is sweet and juicy, adding a nice contrast to the earthy and savory flavors of the other ingredients. The zucchini and green beans have just the right texture, not too mushy, and the chickpeas add a unique twist to the classic recipe. It’s clear that fresh ingredients were used, which really elevates the overall experience. The serving size is generous, making this caldo de res a perfect option for a filling meal. Paired with warm tortillas, it’s a satisfying dish that comforts you on a cold day or when you're craving something homemade. However, the dish could have been even better if there was a bit more caldo (broth) to soak up all the flavors. The ingredients were well-prepared, but a heartier portion of broth would have made it even more enjoyable. While it’s definitely on the traditional side, Taco Palenque has managed to make it feel special with their execution. Overall, this is a great take on a beloved classic, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Mexican comfort food.
It's good! It's my first time in Laredo and I saw this in every corner lol. I've heard about Taco Palenque before so I had to try it before I left Laredo... and it was delish! The quesadillas had lots of cheese. Their horchata wasn't amazing great but it was still good! Definitely coming back!! I can't give 5 stars because service lacked a little. But enjoyed it overall
There are other Taco Palenques in the area that are much cleaner and have more to offer. This one is a little run down. The tacos are also a little overpriced. Some days are better than others.

Headed back to San Antonio from working in Laredo. Love Laredo. Got our order wrong. However, the fajita with guacamole was very good. Expensive....$26.00 for 4 tacos and 2 drinks.....crazy 🤔
Me and my husband ordered Street Tacos and everything was cold. The beef, the tortillas, along with the cebolla asada that comes included. We love TP but we’re sadly moving to another location. We paid $30 for cold food.
Food is good as usual, have never had an issue with it. Some of the best in town. Service could be better though; Not a good thing when they make a mistake on ur receipt/charges and the manager makes it worse by trying to tell you it's your fault instead of being friendly, helpful, fixing it, and telling you "sorry" for their mistake...just a tip from manager to manager...Would also help to have a bilingual individual at the drive-thru taking the order and not someone that doesn't know any English.
The problem w/ this place is the location. It is on a very busy cross intersections and it is not easy to get in or out. Parking spaces are also limited and if you park in the handicap section the drive through traffic blocks the spaces making it difficult to park or pull out. The food is very good. I love their homemade corn tortillas.
The food is delicious but lately ive noticed that the tacos come with less meat. I live nearby so i go there often but the staff in the evening always....always mess up my order. The chips which are free but always cold and greasy. Nothing in comparison to the one located on Guadalupe street. Sometimes i ask for the free cucumbers or lemons and it seems that the ladies get bothered when you ask them for the free items.
the cashier clerk was trying his best to fill our multiple orders for our group in a timely manner, particularly our margaritas orders, but limited staff and a complete lack of managerial oversight that evening became obvious (12/30).
This is my second time getting my orders wrong! I call and tell them and they want proof. How can you show proof when the food had already been given to those who asked for a specific meal? We just go in and start eating then we check. Sorry but theres no time to check in line since theres always people waiting minutes before getting there food at the drive thru. Just wish they check well before giving bag. Since there are multiple point of contact from the people prepping the food to the window cashier 😡
Wish they could speak some english they have a lot of choices but me being vegetarian i cant convey what i want and they end up serving me poor options, like asked to do something with just eggs and they served me half boiled eng on a taco instead of olmlet with rice vegetables and beans i asked for.
We ordered 13 tacos & they only gave us 10 for $3 each I expected better service by the time we noticed it was too late we were miles away.
The food was good. Order was not correct. Definitely a language barrier, but nobody tried to intervene.
The food is good here and I trust it which is why I come here often especially since it is conveniently close to many of my go-to places. However, this time around 3:20pm the experience was not up to par. We repeated our order about 3-4 times (in case we weren't being heard correctly or for any miscommunication errors) and the order was repeated back to us. However, when we arrived at the window the same lady who took our order asked if we wanted salsas and we said yes she couldn't hear us. We told her the green salsa (no joke) nearly 7 times. Once we received our order we realized we were missing items. Checked the receipt and noticed that those items were not charged either. Having waited nearly 10-15mins just in line before ordering and another 5 at the window, at that point we didn't want to go in the line or get down. We just wanted to eat. The food was good, there was no issue on the quality of the food. However expect to repeat yourself if needed, and make sure they repeat the order.
The food as usual was great. The Pico de Gallo was really awesome. No complaint at all about the food. The rating is for the customer service experience. Apparently they were having a hard time getting my card to process said it was getting declined. Finally the cashier called what apparently was the person in charge and their immediate response was we needed another form of payment. Another card was used successfully. I then proceeded to check my bank app and it showed 6 transactions that were processed for the same amount for the same order. It was brought to the managers attention and he simply stated that they didn't charge six times that the dispute was with the bank and he walked away. At which time I asked for the declined transaction receipts which they had thrown away and had to retrieve from the trash of which they only gave me 3 receipts. Overall very bad customer service experience. I truly hope it is an isolated incident and not the way all customers are treated. Will unfortunately reconsider future patronage at that location.
Prices are very high! Don't have senior discounts on menu.cashiers need to speak English and have public realtion.at least a little smile.!today again cashier not to happy face and got mix-up my order April 26 2018 morning shift at 10:00am.this is the one on saunders next to McDonald's.owners please check this out not managers( waste of time). Thanks.GOD BLESS YOU.
Bad rude service, cold food, they bring the food to the persons in their hands instead of a tray. They serve the fat in the tacos, when you are paying for fajita.
Service was awful No Sweet Tea my food was given cold had to ask them to reheat my breakfast plate dine in all tables dirty. Very bad experience this time.
Place was nasty, tables were not Clean no ice in the coke machine tortillas were burn. This place needs new management in place.
Don't get me wrong. The food is amazing however, I'm no architect or engineer but this location sucks! The parking is very, very tight. Dot come here during lunch and park. U will be stuck if u have to back up and there is a long line. A dragging line for drive thru. There is no way to back up if u have a big truck. Also this is Texas, so big trucks are in. There is no way around that but the parking is just perfect for smart cars or something. I just saw a cluster... With people trying to get out and it was lunch hour. Just saying.
Service was fast, tacos were cold, meat was cold, tortillas de maiz undercooked. I asked for them to heat up but they said it was cold due to guacamole and that I would get same thing. Food was seasoned well just sad that it was cold and undercooked tortillas that gives this place a bad review.
The food is delicious, and I don't mind paying $12.99 for a fajita plate, but the servings are very skimpy...very little rice, very little beans, and definitely very little fajita. Also, the avocado was really brown, and it looked unappealing. Their drink area could use some maintenance, and the sodas don't taste very good, either.
Cashier did not greet us when we approached the counter. She looked like she did not want to be at work. Ordered 2 Matamoros combo. Food was cold, Fideo was cold. Taco Palenque in San Antonio serves better quality food.
I ordered a chicken fajitas plate, chorizo and egg taco. My plate was cold. The chicken fajitas was cold it seem like it was there for a while. The beans from the plate were cold and the chip that comes in there was soggy. The rice had a weird taste to it. The only thing that was good was the chorizo and egg taco because they had to make it. So that was hot and fresh. 😒 never again something else for dinner.
High prices for Mexican food. I ordered the fajita plate for $16. Not the best fajitas in town. The fajita served was way less than what I expected. The plate was filled with mostly fillers. Which was not what I expected to pay for. Tortillas were hard and less the warm. The rice was mushy and cold. There was meat outside the fridge and stacked about 1.5' high which leads me to believe their are food safety concerns. To be fair the Chips and salsa bar is good. It's a clean place and It seems to have a lot of customers.
I expected better, but this location is in south Laredo. This place was very dirty and they didn't bother to clean the tables when customers finished eating. The food was ok, but the beef was very chewy, a sign of cheap cuts of meat. If they plan to cut corners, then they should also lower their prices.
3/16/25 Went in late Saturday night and the place was nasty, tables and floors were sticky as well as restroom were dirty with one stall out of orders. The cashier in the front was very rude and seems to be upset at the rushes they had since they probably didn’t have employees to work that rush. When I asked for my order time the other cashier said “here look at the screen.” Pretty much said it’s gonna be ready when it’s ready. Taco Palenque ownership needs to retrain staff and really take care of their restaurants. If they have a lot of money to open up locations all over Texas then they should have money to hire employees. Will not be giving my hard earned money to this location every again.
Actually the taco de guisada was a little dry and the corn on the cup i was expecting a good corn in a cup, but unfortunately it was burned 🔥 I took some bites and it was black and kind of crispy due to it being burnt and the supposed salsa de guacamole is almost brown, sadly its becoming bad.

Came to eat breakfast the server taking my order seemed grumpy and the tacos weren't fresh they were also cold and didn't get very good service what I wanted was breakfast type burritos and all they had was 1.99 taco choices and server wasn't too pleasant in offering me anything except if I wanted flour or corn tortilla for the taco choices. Next time will prefer McDonald's next door. But best breakfast place in Laredo is Paulita's
I didn't get down but my sirloin tacos were super greasy 😞. And the green salsa was brown no good. And the price is high for poor food.
It was horrible what we witness Cross contamination eating while serving food. No gloves, no hand washing between task. Very disgusting to watch. Staff on phones. Staff member coughed into her hands and proceeded to finish serving the chat to beans. Management really need to focus on food safety. Very sad to see this behavior. It leads me to believe that their practices here are far worst than what I have stated. Be safe.
It was like 9pm on Thursday, March 31st... service was so slow... we decided to dine in and worst decision.... they took like 45 minutes for two pirata tacos .... and then the order was wrong... flour tortillas when I had requested corn.... Meanwhile two of the employees were decorating for Easter while taking care of the cashier's children 🤦♀️... yes, she had her children at work.... how could this be allowed!
30 minutes wait for fast food. I thought they had the food ready to go. Not enough during lunch break. Update: In addition to the long wait, the rice was spoiled. 14$ for nothing.
For some reason they can never get a simple order right u ask for bean and cheese and u get a whole separate thing... how smart do u have to be to take a simple order.? At work we have a joke that goes if u want ur taco right order the opposite 🙃 😅... i ask for bean cheese i get bean bacon chorizo 😅 y'all need to focus when ur reading the orders
THE LINE IS SO LONG and the workers seem like they don’t know what they are doing cuz they handed me 3 WRONG DRINKS and my order was wrong and no extra lemons like I asked never coming here again!!
The food is good. But please it s so dirty the floors wet in my table napkins the bathrooms terrible all dirty no paper towels. The management need to be more responsible thanks for your attention. Blanca
The tacos are not even warm, awful experience and staff members don’t care..
Horrible! The food quality was great, but we were missing items from our order. First order taker could not speak clearly. Second cashier missed half the order. And WHY would you serve a bottled coke that requires a BOTTLE OPENER on To go orders??! Frustrating! Won't return.
Not very sanitary. The manager cashing out orders and preparing food at expo never washed his hands. Was suffering from sinus allergies it seemed, used a stack of napkins to spit out mucus then went back to making food. Did not wash hands. I asked for a refund and left.
I visited your location a week ago , and called to the manager attention that the employee was eating, and preparing food at the same time . I went today , and the person in the lobby , and the cashier made feel uncomfortable like retaliation against me maybe , because I called out a unsanitary behavior while handling ready to eat food .
The manager on duty was rude upon taking the order. Also had the audacity to toss the change at my mother. Since he was in such a rush to sit with his girlfriend at the table.
Ordered at drive thru & Asked for 3 bags of chips on an order of 56.00 dollars which consisted of 5 meals and was told they could only give me 1bag. The guy at the window was rude so I asked for a refund instead and still the guy has the audacity to raise his voice and ask why we were cancelling I understand it was Valentines day and all but it's not like I just ordered a single taco. Now there is a self serve inside which I could've got off to get as many as I wanted without them even finding out but this is just plain stupid! Took my business elsewhere!
Not my first choice, but it was the closest. Needless to say we arrived early in the morning to have a "fresh" breakfast. Salsa bar was all black n crusty as if it hadn't been put away the previous night. Cashier got my order wrong and then rolls her eyes at me, as if I had ordered MY food wrong. I'll be sticking to the Guadalupe location ONLY.
This place needs more sanitation there roaches in the restrooms. Hair in the food to price for less sanitation ☹️ night shift staff doesn’t have actitud for clients.
I’ve never experienced anything like this before: the cashier refused to accept perfectly valid U.S. currency just because the bills weren’t ‘new enough.’ When I asked for help, the manager didn’t seem to care at all or try to resolve the situation. If a business can’t even handle basic customer service or understand that legal tender is legal tender, then it’s not worth my time. I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
Never had an issue at Taco P before. I ordered 2 breakfast tacos 3.19 each, the egg was green from sitting there, one taco barely had anything on it. Very disappointing never had this issue
for 4 4tacos and 2 soups it was 65$ not sure how they say this authentic when the salsa ain't mexican and it was a total mess
Stopped here to attempt to pick up a fast breakfast at around 6am we waited about 25 minutes before we were able to get our order.
I usually enjoy coming to Taco Palenque, but my recent visit through the drive-thru was disappointing :( . I politely asked for chips twice my first request was ignored, and the window was shut on me. When the chips were finally handed over, the drink I received wasn’t sealed properly and spilled all over my car. I asked for napkins to clean up the mess, but the employee slammed the window shut and ignored me again. After a minute, she reopened the window, and when I politely asked again, she responded with attitude and gave me a harsh look. This happened at around 9:30 PM today. The line was already long, and this kind of customer service made the experience frustrating and uncomfortable. I hope management sees this and takes steps to improve the customer experience...
**Disappointing Experience at Taco Palenque** I recently visited Taco Palenque and was disappointed by the service. Upon arrival, I noticed that the general manager at the time, Mireya, was engaged in conversation rather than attending to customers. Another guest and I entered at the same time, yet the person behind us was served first because the manager was too busy talking. Although the restaurant itself was clean, a few tables needed attention, and the area near the salad bar had an excessive number of flies, which was off-putting. When we finally received our order, it was incorrect. I had requested kids' meals that included soup, but I was only charged for the meals without soup, resulting in an incomplete order. Had Mireya been paying closer attention, she might have caught this mistake before finalizing the transaction. Unfortunately, she seemed more focused on personal interactions than ensuring quality service. Overall, this visit did not meet expectations, and I hope improvements can be made to provide better customer service in the future.
Went to buy some food for co workers the company needs to tell there employes to answer the darn phone i had to make a second trip after a long day at work to taco palenque and for the manager to say they got confused with the combo that comes with fideo im like how can you confuse a bean a cheese taco to just tortillas
Don’t go expecting a lot of food. Lately it’s less food for more money. Very expensive and the quantity leaves a lot to be desired. It’s not inflation it’s greed. I will not be returning until they return to their normal quantities. Barely a bite full of meat. Their Panchos were WORSE. 🤦🏻♀️
Absolutely horrible! Ordered to go, and for the $30+ dollars I spent, I felt like I was being fed worse than a dog! Normally I'd opt to eat at the restaurant, but unfortunately due to having a close relative at the LMC hospital, traveling from out of town, this was an option to maybe have a hearty meal. A fajita super quesadilla & a fajita plate is what i paid for and was missing sour cream, beans, guacamole, and tortillas. No description needed! Pictures say it all! If I wasn't feeling stressed already, seeing our food just made it three times worse.
