Avis sur Cloisters Deli & Grill New York
After a day of medieval art at The Cloisters, found a great place for lunch nearby. The chicken was moist and delicious. The fried plantains were yummy, and the beef was incredibly tender. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting the area!
Stopped by on my way to the Met Cloisters and was starving. This place had good, albeit few, reviews and I’ve never had Domincan food before, so I stopped by. It’s a really unassuming hole in the wall, but was clean (just some flies because summer time) with ample seating and had ready-made food. Thankfully, I’m from Texas so I spoke enough Spanish to be able to order (keep the google translate ready to order lol). Staff was really friendly and made me recommendations. The food tastes like you’re eating at someone’s mom’s house and they take care of you like a guest in their home. I highly recommend it.
Really friendly staff and delicious and plentiful food! All this and the beverages was less than $50. Thanks for taking care of us! Gracias!
This place is a local jem. If you want Dominican experience - this place is it! No menu - you just ask the waitress and she tells you what they have. Oxtail stew is awesome - recommended!
It was delicious, def coming back soon!
Food was Off the Hook! 💞... Authentic Dominican Food. Amazing!!! I will definitely come back..

Excellent and delicious food, services is the greatest, the bartender ELLY is amazing she makes the best drinks ever ! 100% recommended tin won’t regret it !
Quality food to eat after a day at the Met Cloisters. Super fast service, delicious flavors and so much food for such a good deal! Would absolutely recommend
Food is amazing, best authentic tasting Dominican food in the area. Take it from a Dominican who’s lived in the area and knows what he’s talking about. Give it a try you won’t go wrong I promise.
If you’re looking for a hidden gem in the Inwood area that serves authentic Dominican and Puerto Rican food, look no further. I’ve been missing home so much lately, but stepping into this spot felt like I had just landed in Aguadilla. The rabo was hands down the best I’ve ever had in Manhattan—rich, tender, and full of flavor. The chinola juice was made fresh with real fruit, pulp and seeds included (yes, that fresh)! The tostones were crisp and clearly made from scratch—not frozen—and the chicken was so tender it fell right off the bone. Even the steamed vegetables were perfectly blanched and lightly seasoned. The bathroom, tables, and dining / cooking areas were impressing clean! You can tell everything is cooked with love. This place is officially one of our go-to spots. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Best Dominican Food in NYC. Highly recommend. Kid friendly and staff is super friendly and welcoming. It’s a nice casual atmosphere. They have a bar and play sport events. Reasonable prices. The best oxtails in New York.

After visiting the Met Cloisters, went to this restaurant for the first time and have to say that it's authentic Dominican 🇩🇴 food. Best braised Oxtails that I've ever had! My mom had the bacalao and she loved it. The Mofongo is pretty good too.
A good choice of South American food, I came one year ago, it's better then

The seasonings here are on point. Love the sancocho and the sancocho de habichuelas. Rice was oddly cold, this never happed before so I won't hold against them.

These people are super sexist. The women that work there only attend to men. They will not address a woman or they will simply rush your orders. Super rude. Every time i go it's the same thing but they treat my uncle and husband amazingly. Hilarious!!!

Was charged more than the price on the menu, plus $1 for a cup of ice that I didn't order, to go with a soda. Food was good but not worth the price. With tip was $80 for 2 entrees, 2 sides (tostones for $8 when maduros were $4??), and one soda. For a $40 meal I could have eaten somewhere in midtown and included a cocktail. Service wasn't great either.
Awful. Wasn’t looking for anything exceptional, just a quick Dominican lunch. Goat stew, although flavorful, was served cold. Menu felt extremely limited. No ambiance whatsoever. Look elsewhere for Dominican… so disappointing.

The portions were extremely small. We got the pork ribs and they gave us 4 pieces each that were basically all 90% bone. Pretty sure we saw other customers get more generous servings. Menu prices were also not updated.
I was looking forward to visiting this place for the 1st time but that won't happen. Here's why 1st is while looking for a menu I clicked on the website menu for the restaurant and got a deli menu that only offered beverages. Very poor marketing. 2nd I checked recent reviews and saw photos of disappointing portions of food along with mixed reviews. I hope to see improvements so I and guests I want to bring can enjoy.
The portion is tiny. I don’t know if it is because we don’t look like a local, but the portion to other local customers seems so much more than ours. Tourists can consider avoid this place!!!
