What can I say? I returned after a year, and nothing has changed. The Sacher torte was amazing. The apricot tart, the first time I tasted it, was fabulous. The coffee was good, 100% Arabica. I would have preferred it to be thicker, but it tasted excellent. The service was quick, even though it was very busy in the morning. You have to try it to believe it.

An iconic spot in the historic center, always lively, ideal for a break while admiring the surrounding painted buildings. We opted for an aperitivo: the mini sandwiches were excellent, but the snacks seemed a bit tired. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service friendly.

Il locale e' carino, la sua storicita' ne fa un punto dinriferimento per vecchie e nuove generazioni pero' un riaffrescamento a soffitti a padoglione e tutto intorno darebbe sicuramente un immagine piu' igienica alla vista... E se posso fare vedere meglio dove situata la toliette..

Pastry shop and café located on the central and historic Via Girardengo. Classic atmosphere, good selection of breakfast items and pastries. The lady serving the tables was friendly (the only one) and wearing a mask. The other, in charge of preparing the orders, was very cold and serious, not very inclined to interact with the customer. She didn't even say a word when she served me a cappuccino at the counter and wasn't wearing a mask. And if you cough... A first-time visitor to this place is certainly not very likely to return. Considering it's a pastry shop, I didn't find the brioches particularly special, quite the opposite.

We entered with the (pleasing) illusion of enjoying a mid-afternoon coffee during a pleasant stroll. Unfortunately, our plan was foiled by the staff's unspeakable rudeness. After we approached the counter, the staff, with whom we repeatedly made eye contact so they couldn't even say they didn't see us, ignored us flatly and with a clear hint of contempt (perhaps because we were wearing sportswear?). People who entered after us were immediately served with smiles and bows, while our presence was evident to the staff as ectoplasmic. I should point out that we were at the counter, in the front row, so there was no doubt it was our turn. After a full 5 or 6 minutes of waiting, outraged by this disgraceful treatment, we left this "place," only to find a courteous welcome and a delicious macchiato a little further on at the Teatro bar, where we will definitely return and which I recommend to all readers.

December 28, 2024, I'm from Ecuador. I wanted to have breakfast with my husband. We sat at the entrance at a table that still needed clearing, since the 3 girls and 1 boy were joking with other customers and wouldn't look at us. After about 10 minutes, I politely asked for 2 cappuccinos and 2 Dutch coffees. The guy said, "Okay." After about another 10 minutes, a girl came in, already carrying the breakfast tray. She took away the two glasses and wanted to put the breakfast down without clearing the table, which was covered in crumbs. I asked the girl to clean it before putting the tray down. Annoyed, she did so. At that point, I cried inside and told the girl that even a street person has the right to be respected. Our only sin is that we don't wear designer clothes and we're very natural. We've traveled extensively, always wearing normal clothes. We've eaten at the Florian in Venice, the Splendido Mare in Portofino, vacationed in Zermatt at the Mont Cervin Palace, the Hotel Delano in Miami Beach, The Plaza Hotel in Manhattan, New York, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Orlando, Istanbul, Paris, etc., etc. We've been to at least 30 different countries and stayed in luxury hotels, always wearing "natural" clothes, not designer ones. What I'm trying to say is that only at Carletto's do they base their behavior on appearances. We'll never go back to that place; we're very sorry we were treated that way. I hope they read what I wrote so they can learn to be more human. In life, you never know who might lend you a hand tomorrow!

HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED....CHOOSE ANY OTHER PASTRY SHOP IN NOVI.....I happened to be passing by for a coffee in this old bar. Terrible experience. I bought 7 small fresh pastry cream puffs and besides being very cold, they were almost frozen inside. Price: brace yourself...one euro per pastry.....total 7 euros for just 7 pastries. After asking for an explanation of this price, the owner arrogantly replied that if I wasn't happy with it, I might as well not come back... I pointed out that in other pastry shops the maximum price is 50 cents each. She replied that her cream puffs are served in a welcoming environment. Final verdict...I still think it's the worst pastry shop in Novi Ligure...in terms of staff and desserts. AVOID!
