Avis sur Shah's Halal Food Queens
they always give big portions, and the food is always delicious. totally recommend!
Always come here after I take the train. So darn good.. I’ve been coming here since I was just 7 and now I'm 18 and I can never ever get tired of it. Just so damn delicious. This is also the first ever shahs halal cart in the world made in 2005. It’s so good. $8 for chicken over rice and it comes with a soda of your choice. That’s a steal! Me and the halal cart guy know each other he’s basically seen me grow up from a little man to an adult. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met. When I was in highschool I’d always come here hungry with $7-8 and it would make me full for the rest of the day. I remember one time I had $30 and I ordered 2 chicken over rices and 2 gyros for the family. But the thing was I forgot the money at home and the guy did the nicest thing for me, he gave me it for free. All of it. I’d never forget that act of kindness that made my day. Later that day I came back and gave him my $30 and gave a $20 tip with that. This halal cart holds my memories and everyone should try it.
Chicken over rice quality and quantity was really good on liberty and 120th st. But they have another cart in hillside and home lawn, that cart food is so nasty. Also on hillside avenue the night time guy charge $11 for chicken over rice without soda or anything.
My local cart on Rockaway charges $10 for a mediocre platter. This place charges $8 for better food, and you get a free drink to boot. I haven't been here in years but I'm happy to see that the food is still good. My go-to cart dropped in quality following inflation so I'm happy to see that this place is pumping out good food at an affordable price even with the inflation. Honestly, this cart may be my new go-to for local halal food.
I’ve been coming here since they opened almost 20 years. I love their chicken and lamb with rice. They recently switched the lamb from a lamb/beef mix to a 100% lamb. I was excited to try it, and it was very disappointing. My kids and wife were disappointed as well. Hopefully they switch back to the original recipe because if it ain’t broke don’t fix it!
After a long day at work or a long night out, the chicken over rice or lamb & chicken combo platter is my go to meal from Shahs Halal Cart! The food is tasty, the food cart workers are pleasant and cleanliness is evident - the cart workers will quickly tend to your order. Late nights on weekends, you may encounter a line but it moves quickly.
The brand is okay and the food is a good quick bite. I am not going to say they are best but it's always been a good go to. Some carts are better than others even though majority of the food is all prepped. It just the matter how much time you take to make the food as fresh as possible. Some trucks leave the meat on the grill in the same oil for hours. So all that fat is it good but like I said a quick bite.
New guy is rude I have seen 2nd times who is filling the gyro 🥙 He need to polit I spend 30 dollars each day
Foods good. I go everytime & ask for extra pita bread without extra charge. This one time today I got charged an extra $1 for extra pita bread. Ridiculous. A new guy there charged me extra.
Normall the foods good but tonight it tasted like some of the lamb went bad in the heat. I should have known better to go to a food truck when it was this warm. Avoid this one in the heat.
I ordered the mix over rice, and it was ready in just 10–20 seconds. When I got home and tried it, no wonder the meat was cold, and the chicken also tasted stale.
They use rice very bad quality I don’t how people spend money to eat garbage food.
The Food is no Good. The Lamb was ok but the chicken the taste is no good and it's like boiled and little raw and I had small pieces of bones and some fat in the platter. Not happy
The guy working at your shop is selling a $15 plate of chicken over rice and asking for a $5 tip after 3 AM. He hit me with a can of Coca-Cola and started abusing me. I told him, "I'm your daily customer. I pick up food from your brother's every day. I think he was some a veed thats a new guy he was talkk very rudely i will came everday for this cart but this guy behavee veryy badd or rudelyy🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
You better off going to the one at jfk travel plaza which is only 10minutes driving away.. if you think this location is good then the one at jfk will blow you away... way more options and the food is much more fresh and better prepared... what I didn't like about the food truck was they had no tomatoes no onions no chicpea nothing but lettuce. And the chicken and lamb wasn't juicy at all it was dry... They did however give me a free soda Trust me try the one at jfk you will not regret it
Absolutely not! I ordered chicken over rice with white sauce and bbq sauce, and the guy overcharged just for the sauces ($10 for the whole order). The food even smelled like moldy feet or weeks old food, and it had a texture of melted cheese in one corner. That's the corner that also smelled. The guy in the food truck was rude as well, I hope he didn't spit in my food cuz the texture looked disgusting. This is the first time I've ever had a problem with Shah's. Don't get me wrong, their food is good, and I've ordered from here multiple times without issues, but something with this time was not it. It really just put me off from ever ordering anything here again. I would've added photos, but I threw it away before thinking of taking photos.
