I am 38 years old I have been to many Mexican restaurants and quite a few where their chips and salsa have stood out and been very good I am not over exaggerating when I say I could have never picked a number one restaurant where I have given the title of the best chips and salsa there was at least a good five in my entire life where maybe they were all equally number one I remember eating at this restaurant almost a decade ago but I guess I forgot what the chips and salsa tasted like when I revisited this location and re-experience their chips and salsa I went absolutely crazy literally to where I was on social media talking about it is the best chips and salsa I have ever experienced in my life and couldn't stop talking about it on social media to the point that I stressed it so much to the server that was excellent service and beyond nice he expressed my satisfaction to the general manager to where she was so happy and nice extremely sweet n proud of me expressing is the best chips and salsa I've ever experienced. I highly recommend this particular location this location is where u want to come to but I am not over exaggerating when I say it is the best chips and salsa I've ever experienced in my life. You definitely have to experience not only the entire staff the atmosphere that is very beautiful and not just the chips and salsa but all the food the chicken enchiladas are absolutely amazing!!!

Juan M at the Burleson location off 35 has been our waiter for multiple occasions and has always been amazing. We come in all the time for the enchilada Wednesday’s and will probably start asking for him by name when we walk through the door from here on out.

The Burleson El Fenix is my favorite. Service is great and the food is always hot. Our server Juan M. Was on top of our service and took excellent care of us.

We had an enjoyable meal. The prices were very reasonable and the food tasted good. It's pretty much what you'd expect from Tex-Mex. Our server was nice, but I assume a bit new. She had to check and recheck things, but she was always quick to correct. We will definitely go again. We've since been there a couple more times and the food and service continues to be good. My fil has joined my wife and I recently and even he enjoyed the meals and especially the chips. When we're in the area, this will continues to be a place we'll frequent.

Best Chips and Salsa hands down. Great choice of food to choose from. Food always comes out hot and fresh and fast. Margaritas are delicious and refreshing. Draft Beer is always cold. This particular location has plenty of seating where you don't feel crowded. They also have extra rooms for private parties. Location is easy to get in and out of. Staff is friendly and considerate.

This is our neighborhood El Fenix and we enjoy it very much. Dario was our most recent waiter and he always does an amazing job. The sopapiillas are always amazing as are the enchiladas.

Astounding! The food was so tasteful.. The prices are tremendous for the quantity and quality of the food you get. Complementary chips and salsa to go along with the food makes it all complete! Not only was the food good, but so was the service! When we arrived, there was two families in line, including mine. The waitress offered to seat us both at once for our convenience! (At different tables of course.) I could not of had a better experience. I do suggest splitting a plate with someone not because of price, but because of the amazing quantity! It was all around a good time.

Authentic Mexican food. From the moment we stepped in the door the staff were so nice, they welcomed us, paid us complements and Guided us to our table. The waiter was really nice and attentive. The manager came along to see how everything was going, I mean perfect service just look at their comment section they take the time to reply to everyone. All the guest in the other tables looked like they were enjoying themselves. The walls were filled with old pictures of the owners, very moving. The food is delicious, we had a platter with a mix of different entrees and the sizzling fajitas. The pina colada is really strong and good. I loved everything and I will definitely will go back.

Awesome Food/Awesome People. El Fenix is my "go to" place after work to enjoy good "fresh" food and experience kind and attentive staff. The Manager, Ariel, ensures all patrons are satisfied and happy with their service and meal. He pitches in to help when his staff is really busy. This is a good working manager!! The staff including Leigha, Maggie, Phillipe, Eugo, Ruben and JJ have always greeted me with kindness and genuine care. They all give 100% to their job. When I am tired, hungry and want to relax in a positive environment, El Fenix is my place. I always leave their feeling full and contented. It's truly a great place!

Brought my family in today and the food and margaritas were fantastic. Our server Dario was the best part of the entire experience. He had the best attitude and is a work horse for this restaurant. His service alone will continue to bring me and my family back.

HORRIBLE experience, never come here with kiddos. We dined in on Thursday 10/2. We got our little a kids meal, we requested the chicken quesadilla meal - we got cheese. Upon ordering we were okay with the up charge. We waited about 30-40 minutes for our food. Our waitress was friendly but was new so we were patient. However our order just took so long and people around us received their food before us! Our waitress was apologetic and offered us a free dessert… waited about 20 minutes and never received it. My little one was maxed out, she had enough and we were ready to go. Food wasnt good for as long as we waited. Very disappointed. We paid almost $60 for this. Definitely never ever again. Upon checking out I shared my frustration with the hostess and she took my number to be passed down to upper management and to my surprise I never received a call regarding anything. I just really wanted to know why the service was like this, the Camp Bowie location WOULD NEVER. I really wasn’t expecting anything as they just brushed my concern off. However, please spend your money else where with people that actually care and don’t blow you off. EDITED - 10/14 - I got a call from Mr Ariel, he was very apologetic and invited us back for redemption. When I tell you it was a completely different experience than the first time it sure was! We felt SO welcomed, the restaurant was super clean, quick and the food tasted SO fresh. They really turned things around and made it right. Please go give them a try and don’t forget to get the Texas size sopapilla!! Will definitely be back soon! Thank you to Paola and Ariel! 💖

Feleipe was such a gentleman! Amazing service. My very picky mother really loved her chile relleno and street tacos! My whole family loved the salsa they have here, not too watery, and enough garlic. I had a plate of pork tamales with cheese and beans and rice. I loved the food here. The atmosphere was very nostalgic for my mother with the dolls with dresses she wore when she was younger. Again, Feleipe was an amazing server! He took caare of us the whole time, apologizing for any of our inconveniences. He also made sure to fix anything if an item was late or forgotten. 9.5/10 food, 9/10 service, 8/10 atmosphere.

Good food , good service. Been here a couple of times and never disappointed. The atmosphere is always terrific and the the servers friendly. When I want to take my wife to somewhere fairly quite and be able to have a quiet discussion then this is the place. So many places just don't give you that anymore. Why 4 stars instead of 5 you ask... A little maintenance goes a long way instead of a bucket under the sink fix it it only takes a few minutes and doesn't make the customers feel uncomfortable.

Skirting the line of tex mex, this place was all right. Foods hot and good plus rather quickly served. Margarita could've been a lil boozyer and in a larger container!!! Service was decent...wish da game had a better outcome tho...smdh

Ok as usual I'm going to be honest.. The service is really good. The food is pretty good. They have an happy hour. The portions are generous. The only problem I had that night was I wanted to relax and enjoy a good meal but the tables and chairs were uncomfortable. Personal preference i understand. I would definitely recommend.

Hadnt been back since the dining room was overhauled - glad we tried again! Much cleaner, and the food tastes better. Update: our server was new, so we will excuse some oversights. Food is just as good, though smaller portions - which is just fine with us, as none was wasted!

I am very picky when it comes to mexican food so I will say that the food was very average. In my opinion it is not very authentic but presentation is good for a commercial style mexican restaurant. For being a party of 6 and the restaurant having 4 other tables of 4 people average I think our food came out a little slow. Our server was awesome by 100% I know i will return mainly because of our service.

This is a at minimum very good place to take the family while Christmas shopping or any date and even just for lunch by yourself. We walked in at 730 pm during the busiest shopping time of the year and got a booth immediately. Also we were greeted immediately upon entering. We had a young waitress that was very attentive to us throughout. The chips and salsa are honestly some of the best I've had.... Ever. Atmosphere was nice and quiet. The food me and my date had was a Ruth plate if my memory is right. The meal came with a puffy taco that was delicious and crispy even though I ate it after the other items. Other items included a enchilada, refrieds and rice. All food was temperature extremely hot and thats a good thing. Overall perfect dining experience to be honest. The manager even came to the table and was oddly attentive as well by checking the quality of food and service. BRAVO to this team and I'll be a repeat customer every time I'm in Burleson. Great experience.

If I'm not mistaken this is my first time eating here and it was a deep exhale of relief. Not many restaurants these days mandate excellent customer service and food that is thoroughly cooked and enjoyable. We ordered the chicken quesadillas with a side of refried beans and a spanish rice, and the pico de gallo beef enchiladas with charro beans and spanish rice. We shall return! 🍽

This location has been the better one as of late, camp Bowie location is terrible but this one was very good…. Service a little slow but overall it was good…… always loved the puffed tacos and my wife had nachos…. Very good chips and salsa and sweet tea.

Lunch at El Fenix with Michael & Jon. It took a bit to get our food, it wasn't busy either. The plate was hot but the food was not. Got my taco order wrong but they made it right. Acting like it was my fault they brought the wrong food out. And he says "I'm not gonna charge you for that taco". (Well, I didn't order that taco, why would you?). Other than that & the restrooms needed a cleaning, it was ok. Oh yea, the Chips were really good!

Food was okay... more like a place you go to after drinking. Our Waitress Was Decent. But everyone Else Seemed Like They didn't want to be there. Flavor wasn't there.

I own up to taking care of the check before paying attention to receipt. That will not happen again there, guaranteed! Even so, will return because this is where mom likes to eat and the food is good, but without her, I’m sticking to Camp Bowie location.

Food is good but you really need to work on the food delivery to the table times. It took at least 25 minutes when the restaurant wasn't busy to get a quesadilla and fajitas, also doesn't the chicken fajita quesadilla have more than chicken and cheese inside it? And the to go order of the chicken fajita nachos took over 30 minutes to get, and all it came with was chicken, cheese on the chips and a little side of picante salsa and extra chips, where are the onions,peppers, sour cream,pico and guacamole? This visit wasn't good at all .

We ordered steak fajitas for 2, I picked the order up on my way home, we didn't get any tortillas with our order and the food was only okay. We ordered some chips and queso along with our fajitas and the queso was probably the best part of the meal but the chips were stale. The "steak" was very rough and a weird texture, it almost seemed like it was pre-cooked meat that had been microwaved, it was not an enjoyable meal and we won't be going back.

I just don't have good food experiences at El Fenix no matter the location. Their food is like Ballpark food, it's cold before it gets to where I'm going to eat it. Also, the booth bench was sagging in so it wasn't comfortable. I know El Fenix makes enough money to replace cushions. I couldn't even comfortably eat the cold food. Napkin was either dirty or stained. The positives were I was sat immediately, restaurant was clean, staff was attentive and nice.

The kitchen manager has for a decade ran the food and labor cost at the expense of a good customer experience and skimped terrible on the food amount ,the quality is fine your have to send the food back when they do this I have added before and after taco pics. They also have a issue with licensed carry on your person but the other chain restaurants don’t seem to give this sign , it’s tough with four Mexican restaurants all next to each other and across the road ,maybe step it up kitchen manager

First timer. As I always point out...the staff makes the difference. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. The chips and salsa came out promptly. The problem is that the salsa was definitely from a jar. It was the worst I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant...anywhere! I ordered the lunch portion fajitas. I wish I would've taken a pic. The meat was tender and seasoned well...too salty though. I was also given two strips of green pepper with a overwhelming amount of onion and one square of tomato. They could have saved face by leaving the square of tomato in the salad that they borrowed it from. Chef at El Fenix either be the best in your role or step aside for someone else that really loves and wants to be a culinary artist. El Fenix, my money will never be in your profit margin again. 🫤

Today was the THIRD and LAST time me and my husband have left without being seated!! THIS LOCATION has gone to crap! They never have enough staff! Even going during off times, they still have issues with staffing! Too bad because we love El Fenix but not this location!!

Wow I've had bad Mexican food in my life but this is definitely 1 or 2 on the list of horrible Mexican food. If you have a choice don't eat here they smother a bean and rice burrito in disgusting sauce with barely any meat or veggies and it costs $13. It was absolutely disgusting. I don't know how anyone could give this place more than 2 stars unless they came for just drinks atmosphere is not bad. The staff was inept the food mocked the staff just atrocious. DON'T EAT HERE GO ACROSS THE FREEWAY TO ON THE BORDER LOL. THAT'S HOW BAD IT WAS!!!!

First we come in, and the person who seats people is sitting there on her phone talking to an employee for over 15 minutes and finally comes to seat us. The server was very uneducated, and didn’t have customer service. We ordered, and got the food and was missing half of the order. But the server never came back to tell her. Sat there for a very long time just waiting to get the check. We just wanted to leave at this point.

Probably the worst Mexican food we have ever had. Our food arrived at our table in less than two minutes after we ordered indicating our food was precooked and it was. My fajitas were horrible, the meat was dry with no taste, the onions slimy and overcooked with two slices of bell green pepper. My wife’s chicken enchiladas were just as bad, dry and with no taste.

First off, had to wait 25 minutes even though there were empty tables. Once seated we ordered our two teas. Waiter came back and said they were making the tea so, we ordered an appetizer. This took fifteen minutes to get. The cheese dip was luke warm at best and we asked about our tea. Waiter had forgotten all about the tea. Finally got our tea and received our meal. Everything went decent after that but waiter never refilled our tea and both glasses were empty. We just asked for to go boxes to get out of here. Once at the pay counter the lady asked how our meal was and I told Her all about it. No, let me get a manager at all just, sorry about that. Probably will never be back

I haven't been here in about 12 years. My memory of this place was that the salsa was so good, I bought a bottle and the food was pretty decent. Well, we walked in today and were greeted and seated promptly... That was probably the highlight of our visit. The atmosphere is what I expected/remembered... Mexican themed, nice. Our server arrived and was friendly, took our drink order and went on her way. I felt like I had to wash my hands after touching the menus though. They brought our chips and they had an odd taste, can't describe it but I wasn't impressed. The salsa was not what I remembered, it was more like tomato sauce, my son said that and he's a teenager but I agreed. We placed our order and she left. Our food seemed to take forever, at LEAST 30 minutes. We had two servings of chips by this time. We witnessed 3 groups of people come in and get seated after we had our chips on our table and they got their food before us. One thing I did notice was that everybody's food came out at the same time, despite the other groups that staggered in after us at different times. So, why did we wait so long and get served last (OUR food was the last of the train of food that came out to everyone). We started eating and my wife said her food was warm, not hot. She ordered Carne Asada, which she did not like. Son ordered steak fajitas, just meat and a few onions, no bell peppers? I ordered chicken monterrey which was pretty weak. We all agreed the rice tasted old, the refried beans were decent, my wife's charro beans had no flavor(I tasted and agree). The quality of the food has completely disappeared. Then the server came and asked if we needed more drinks (we were just picking at our food by this time), she SHOULD have noticed we were done but we told her our drinks were fine and so she left. We never saw her again, at our table but I saw her sitting in a booth in the other room while we were looking around, making it obvious that I was ready to leave. I even stood up at the booth for a few minutes . We waited 20 minutes a bill, that never came. I had to go to the front hostess and ask for the bill or we were walking out. Boy, she jumped after I said that and had it in our hand in less than 60 seconds. I didn't expect authentic Mexican food, honestly, I didn't even expect the best quality but this food was trash. Sorry guys, do better. Period.
