A food store specializing in pork loin and chicharrón sandwiches. The sandwiches have a pleasant flavor, the ingredients are fresh, and the toppings (salsa and roasted chiles) enhance the taste of the sandwiches. However, the flavor isn't excellent; I find them expensive ($55 each), and the portions seem insufficient (since the bolillo in San Luis is quite small). They're delicious, but there are definitely better options (e.g., Tortas Mi Feo at the Mercado de la Merced, which is cheaper, slightly larger, but much tastier). Still, it's worth trying, as the methodical preparation process tells you they have a traditional flavor.

I ate some of these tortas and got a terrible stomach bug. I think the pork rinds had been spoiled for a few days because I started feeling sick shortly after eating them. I really think they should check that the pork rinds are freshly made because it's not right that people go to eat them and end up with salmonella like I did. Of course, I'm going to file a complaint with the health department because I got sick and contracted a very, very bad infection, all thanks to the spoiled pork rinds... I'm definitely not going back to eat these things. Be careful when you go and ask if the pork rinds are fresh because they sell them spoiled just to avoid losses! 😒😒🙄🙄🙄😡😡😡😡

I haven't tried them, but they look good. After a long time, I tried them and I didn't like them. They're cold and kind of bland. Besides that, I didn't like the hygiene because while I was there, the man who makes them dropped the salsa dispenser on the floor, picked it up as soon as it fell, put it back on the counter where he makes the tortas, and kept going... Not even a quick wipe or some hand sanitizer or anything. I'm not going back. 😣
