These are the best tamales in San Luis, for me and my family. We've tried many, and there's no comparison. The atole is also very good. Highly recommended, honestly. The zacahuil is excellent, and the salsa is nice and spicy—so delicious!

These are real tamales! They're not the typical balls of cooked dough you usually find all over San Luis Potosí. They're packed full of stew; one wrapped in a banana leaf is plenty. Remember to add salsa and wash it down with lemonade or horchata! Or a good atole for those chilly days!

Without a doubt the best tamales in San Luis, Tamales el Tio Vikingo, are large Huasteca tamales, they also sell them in corn husks, a wide variety of fillings, from the classic green chicken, to pork chop, ribs, blackberry and Nutella, they sell out very early, by 9 at night you can't find any anymore

I think they have a variety of flavors and that's the only reason they're famous, and because they're practically the only ones in the area. Honestly, they're not good. They're big, but there's too much dough. They also have a lot of meat, but what's the point if the chicken smells and tastes bad? They don't wash it properly, the dough doesn't taste good, and they feel very dense. I don't recommend them and I wouldn't buy them again.
