I loved the food and the service from the waitresses, all very attentive and prompt. Today they had two menus, a tasting menu for 35 euros and a tasting menu for 25 euros. Both were very good. The desserts were very small, with a variety of sweets but very delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant; I recommend it. This is the Casino Zamora restaurant. They also have a bar.
Great food and great service.
A very beautiful building, well worth a visit. Both the café and the restaurant are great places to have a drink or a meal in the center of Zamora in a relaxed atmosphere. The café has excellent tapas, especially the cod tapas, which I highly recommend. The croquettes, while good, I wouldn't order them again; they lacked a bit of creaminess, in my opinion. The restaurant, despite serving small portions on large plates, offers well-prepared food, and you won't leave hungry. I prefer their fish dishes to their meat. As for the price... it's not cheap, but it's not expensive either. I recommend a visit.
A very nice restaurant, friendly staff and excellent food. It is wise to make a reservation for a table.
In the city center. In a historical building. Good balance between food quality and price. Nice staff. The decoration could be improved.
I'm editing my previous review because it stopped being a restaurant a while ago and has become a bar with drinks for €4 for a small bottle. I don't know if you'll find them more expensive in any other bar in Zamora. That said, the place is worth a visit. A quiet place with good food. The set menu isn't bad, perhaps a little basic. Good desserts. The location alone is worth it; it's the old casino of Zamora. Reservations are recommended. It's also worth stopping by to try the tapa of the week.
It is ok but badly decorated
The old Zamora and Casino circle has been transformed into a modern Malasaña-style café/bar with background electronic music like that of Nubel near the Reina Sofía in Madrid. Personally, I'd turn the volume down a bit and play soft jazz during the day, which gives it more class, and leave the repetitive chunda chunda for the evening. It's a nice place to take friends and make a good impression. The prices are expensive for Zamora. A coffee costs 2 euros and a waffle 4 euros. The waffles and toast are made to order. The staff is pleasant and friendly, but they make you pay at the counter. For that price, it shouldn't be like that, really. Covid prevention measures: It's starting to get too crowded. On January 4, 2021, around 7-8 p.m. The capacity doesn't seem to be limited, and there's no control of entry and exit. The place was packed. As Marope says, too many tables and chairs for the current health situation. Closed windows and zero ventilation. Although there are signs indicating the mandatory use of masks, many people ignore them, and groups are even talking without them. No one monitors this or encourages customers to wear them or leave. Furthermore, many people wear non-approved (cloth) masks. These masks do not prevent the spread of the virus, and the clientele is predominantly young. It is well known that social distancing is insufficient to prevent the spread of the virus indoors, and constant ventilation and a limit on the number of people in the room are necessary. There are hand sanitizers at the entrance, but many people do not use them either. I'm sorry to have to change this review because I like the place, but at least at this time of year, it is not a safe place. There are enough staff to perform adequate checks. I trust this will improve and that it is due to the carelessness of the first few days.
Went a Christmas meal, good service.
Two beers for 9 euros. Zamora. Hard to justify that price.
The architecture is perfect, the atmosphere is so-so, but if it's a café, you can't really talk. I understand that the cost of living is rising and so is rent, but there's no way to justify a third of a liter of beer for €4.50 in Zamora...
I go there often, but the doorman at the entrance is disgraceful. He makes you wait in line for over 20 minutes while letting people in without paying. I didn't know the casino had a priority list for those who don't pay. I don't know if the owner allows it, but it's a disgrace. What happened today was the last straw. I asked if I could go upstairs, that I was looking for my brother, and he rudely, arrogantly, and rudely told me I couldn't go up and that I should call him, which I already did, but with the music playing, it was impossible to hear a phone. He has no shame after I've been a customer there every weekend since he started going there, the scoundrel.
