I been going to J&S Breakfast Burritos for years , Their homemade mole sauce is out of this world , I can't find nothing like it in the mid southbay area where I live , I tried all the supermarkets, 99 cents stores, and even the mom and pops discount stores . Everytime I'm in the neighborhood I make it a habit to stop by J&S Burritos, the sauce is so good I have to buy some extra small containers of it because it's that good, so when I eat some else's Breakfast 🌯 Burritos I don't use no one else's sauce or salsa unless it's from J&S.

My family and I have been coming here for ages. We love their tacos when they don't skimp and fries. My son will make taco runs and order about 20 at a time. I love that they're always open. So whenever we get the urge we can stop by.

Open 24 hours when your hungry. Cash only but they have atm machine on the side. I eat outside or in my car. 😀. This place is life saver when taco trucks closed.🙏

Favorite place to grab taquitos, everytime I think I only want two, I finish my food and wish I had got more. I usually call ahead with my order, they are sometimes really busy. Best part is they're open 24/7, so you can always get that late night snacks. The breakfast burritos are also delicious.

I have been going there off on since the 70s. I moved out the area for about 10 years. Love the food, prices, and service. IT PROBABLY IS THE BEST VALUE IN THE San Gabriel valley. I think I'm going to eat here more often . Counter persons have very pleasant attitudes.

J&S is an institution. This is a go-to stop for any time of the day or nite. This place had a previous name and was changed over 30 yrs. plus ago, food is always good , sometimes fast, sometimes slow depending on the crowd, with many choices on the menu you will have to taste your way through the all selections. J&S is a fast food star .

I have been coming to this place for years after USC football games or just on the way back from LA. I am never disappointed when I order food from this place. It might not be very big with seating inside and a few seats out front but what it lacks in size it makes up for in flavor. The all meat burrito with red sauce has become one of my favorite burritos anywhere in Southern California. There is parking around the back and it's easy to spot from the street as well. Perfect eating when golfing at the golf course right next to it.

Randomly stopped in after a business meeting. Got a breakfast burrito with sausage and a coffee, $9.32 total. This burrito is enormous and delicious. Ate it with two red salsas. Burrito has egg, potato, cheese, beans and sausage. It's humongous. Reminds me of the Jimmy Deans breakfast burritos from when I was a kid. Only problem is the seating faces the road so it's kinda noisy. Five stars, would burrito again.

Update on 10/30/20 Bam! They did it again. Amazing. —————— J&S does it again. Always hits the spot and food is consistently great. I always call in my order, even before Covid, and the food is promptly waiting for me when o arrive. Never had an issue with incorrect orders either. I used to give them 4 stars because quite frankly there are better taquitos out there (like Pepe’s) but it’s twice the price and not always in the mood for an order of my taquitos to be my entire meal. These are smaller and the guacamole is unique. I know the avocado is mixed with something, just can’t put my finger on it but it’s good. The “mole” salsa is also to die for and I mix the two for a great dipping experience. Order some extras with guacamole on the side and they are just as good the next day after a quick reheat in toaster oven. I added a taco and green burrito on this trip and enjoyed them both. Taco is pretty basic hard shell beef with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese but the green burrito has a great flavor to it. I usually get mine without meat, so I can enjoy the green sauce but beef can be added as well. Thanks again for hitting the spot and see you soon!

We got the cheese and beef enchiladas, and they were very good. They came with rice and beans which were also very good. Simple and very filling. Mexican and American food served at a quaint, old school style walk-up window with outdoor seating. Cash only, open 24 hours and prices are affordable. The best type of place when you're hungry any time of day and night. We lucked out finding this little gem, and now we've joined the many that obviously know this place well. Try it out

Cash only, and there is an ATM in a metal box here too. The taquitos are the best thing to order here. Tacos have a lot of stuff in them, lettuce, cheese, etc.. too much stuff in my opinion. So I stick to the taquitos. The Horchata has too much sugar, but can be diluted, just ask for more ice.

Ordered 20 burriotos for a retirement party at my office they were ready right on time! Don't be a Jerk and park blocking the ONLY EXIT to the establishment! There's extra parking in back at BOTH the burrito shop and the coffee shop so you DON'T have to park on the street, all you have to do is open your eyes 👀.

I’ve been coming to this joint for over 20 years now and this has always been the go to place but I like is it 24 seven. It was always a cash only joint but just last month they started accepting cards and Apple Pay.. whenever I come I always get the back Chris burritos with bacon or the taquitos with guacamole. That’s always been my go to. This place is one of the best fast food joints you can go to in Montebello and has been around for over 30 years. If you’re in Montebello and you’re craving a breakfast burrito, you need to check out this spot. The prices are reasonably priced and lower than any other spot out here. Big portions and great food. It’s not a sit down joint maybe if you come on the weekend after partying it’s good but it’s usually packed.

I love coming to this place anytime of the day. It's so convenient that they're open 24 hours. The only downside is that it's cash only. I love the breakfast burrito, the chorizo burrito (with potatoes) and the taco plate. The taco plate is a good bang for your buck. I've been going to this once for over 10 years and it's never let me down

Very good. Taco shell was freshly fried. Shredded beef is very tasty. Lots of cheese. Their hamburger was fairly standard for a burger joint, but still good. Fries were a little undercooked. The taquito dog was delicious.

This place has been around for quite a while. I remember coming here over 10 years ago to get burritos in the middle of the night. I think their #1 quality is being open 24hrs. The food is pretty good, definitely better than any fast food joint, but it's by no means the best little Mexican place I've been. Service was friendly and fairly quick when I came late afternoon. The parking lot can be a little sketch, but overall not bad. I got an all meat burritos (green) which had a pretty nice green chili in it, but the meat was probably 7/10. Was not impressed with the green sauce 4/10, but they also have pico de gallo which was ok. Overall I'd put it in the C+/B- range, but that could go up if I got another order that was more impressive than that burrito.

I love their crunchy tacos. I always get them if I'm in the area. I gave 4 stars because last 2 times they had too much lettuce and 2nd time I paid for extra cheese light lettuce and the crammed it with tomatoes and still not enough cheese... I hate tomatoes. Aside from that they are my favorite for crunchy tacos for over 30 years.

Burrito was tasty. A good size for a quick eat. Not so large that it ends up being two meals. And well balanced ingredients.

The food at J & S is really good and at reasonable price. I really enjoy their child renello burrito,my wife and I love to come to J & S. It's cash only.

The food is good you get what you pay for the prices are great fast service maybe because i was the only one there at the time at 6am but it was less than a ten minute stop on my way to work the only let down is i have tried two burritos the bean and cheese burritos and the chile verde burrito they lack cheese they lack alot of cheese best bean and cheese burritos or chile verde burrito are still at lupes on 3rd but the breakfast burritos here are good o yeah their crispy chicken sandwich is better than mc.donalds thats a fact.

12/20/2024 J & S 887 N Garfield Ave Montebello, CA 90640 I went there to try the Chili Dog to compare with others in this area. It's a Mexican fast food mainly take out place located close to the freeway. There is some parking in the back. There is stainless steel bench seating in the front with no interior dining (being used for storage). The menu is on the board above the order window. I placed my order and paid for a Chili Dog with onions at the window then waited a short time for my ticket number to get called. The order taker was very friendly and cheerful. The Chili was flavorful and surprisingly not spicy at all. The dog was of the supermarket taste variety and okay, can't beat a Costco dog. If I put their Chili on a Costco dog, then that would be perfection. Value was pretty good and I would repeat.

The Chili Rellano Burrito was bland, and they left the stem on. The hard shell taco was really good. The green salsa was better than the red, in my opinion. It was also spicier. They don't have pepinos or lemón.

I gave it 3 stars because this was my childhood eatery spot and night club days. The food is fast and simple. The green and red burritos are my favorite. What I ordered Sept. 2nd St 5:45 am was not as good but it did the work of sobering me up. The spanish rice is the bomb. Its open 24 hours 7 days a week. The cashier lady was nice. I wish the coffee was stronger. Lots of Memories here.

Its okay. I like that they're 24 hours and everything on the menu is available. There's parking in the back and it's also cash only I believe. I was excited for the breakfast burritos but they're a little bland, however the mole salsa does have some good flavor. I'm also pretty sure there's beans in the breakfast burrito which I know a lot of people like but I think I'd go without next time. It was likely either that or the potato that took away the flavor would be my guess. I'd be open to trying other food next time but I'm not in a rush to come back.

Few times I got bean cheese burrito and not enough cheese and the beans don’t taste like how they should. Train employees to make beans for bean cheese burrito the correct way. Sad that the classic beans you are known for aren’t the same.

Was what i expected of a quick service stand: Quick, simple, good - hit the spot. I wasn't expecting a taco shop to only offer one meat choice, but it was very good for the choice - shredded beef. The shell was a little too crispy for my taste and I wasn't expecting american toppings. Still worth the effort and visit.

The first time I tried the red Chile burrito with meat, it was on the weekend and the cook knew what he was doing. Came back one morning ordered the same thing, it was absolutely terrible. Maybe weekend night cooks are better than morning cooks

Ordered a chorizo burrito and a drink. The food was great as usual however the older lady with the short white hair has to go. This is an unfortunate case of bad service and this lady just did not know what she was doing, kept giving me the wrong price after I kept repeating my order.

Good place to get some hot fast food .... but, its changed drastically. First the new cook just ain't as good as the older gentleman who used to work there was. I asked for a breakfast burrito with hash browns but instead got French frys. Also the prices are a bit outrageous. Why is it 5 dollars for a bean and cheese burrito. This place gets a 2 star rating because the only thing good there is their guacamole.

There is no pollo at this location. Machaca burrito wasn't fresh, lacked flavor. Beef enchilada plate was good. Sauce was like Habanero. I like hot, so I was okay with it. It was a 10 out of 10 on the hot scale. Most people would not like that. They should warn customers.

First time going to j&s heard that they're hard shell tacos were very popular. Unfortunately I did enjoy them too well. Bean and cheese burrito was not a great tastes like can.

Our only option for bean burrito after going to two places that were closed. It had been about five years since I last visited J&S. I remember it being clean and service being great! What a disappointment this time around. Lady at the counter was rude and cold. No restrooms. The inside eating area was closed. Guess cvd ruined that. Ordered two bean burritos, chile relleno burrito, two hard tacos, and a cheeseburger for my toddler. Food was so bland. I’m used to bean burritos being messy but not this disastrous. Both came undone, wrapped very poorly. Had to scoop up the beans with pieces of tortilla. The tacos were nothing special. No flavor. Chile relleno was okay. At least they added salt to that one. The best thing was The cheeseburger, go figure. It’s best to go to Lupe’s for the best bean burritos. Never coming to J&S.

Been coming here since 1983 when their tacos were less than a dollar each. So much meat and their signature red sauce. Times have changed again and again. Don't know if owner changed several times, but definitely not the same. Just bought 6 tacos and notice their meet has reduced to half the amount. Red sauce has changed. Not even spicy. So many years and so many good memories of good eats, but sad to say, today will be my last visit to this place. No longer worth my time and money.

This place was the best go to 24/7 in the area. Not sure if it changed ownership, but it really sucks. I order a sof tostada and a bean & cheese burrito. There was no difference. The tortillas are low quality. The beans are terrible. The soft tostada had no lettuce and hardly ant tomato. They were both a sloppy mess. We could even finish them. I don't think I can recommend this place any longer. What a shame.

I'm not sure why all the good reviews on the taquitos. They were absolutely awful. I know most restaurants pre make/ freeze them but wow the meat inside was stiff and I could taste the bad oil it was fried in. I was so hungry I ate most of it regrettably but they were so bad I left half of them. I recommend LA Enchilada Grill in Montebello. They actually have good A LA Carte Taquitos that are edible.

Went at 3am and had the worst onion rings I’ve ever tried to eat. Over cooked, dry, and no flavor. Double bacon cheeseburger was bland but at least it had bacon 🤷.

03/28/2025 The machaca burrito was so disappointing it is the most tiniest little sad thing I've ever seen, came out to $12 I am extremely disappointed in how tiny this burrito is I definitely do not recommend this place I should have just went across the street to Jack In The box would have been able to get more food for my money

Ordered the red chili burrito and an hour or two later, started getting a stomach ache. I hoped it would settle down but a few hours later I had to vomit it all up. I planned on going back the next day and demanding my $11 back but I was to busy and a few days went by and I forgot all about it.

Had the tacos and the meat had no flavor plus the guacamole was so salty. What happened to this place? All I know I'm having bad stomach ache and using bathroom at 4:00 in the morning. Not good. Maybe new ownership? I don't know.

The green beans and cheese were made with rosarita beans the only one that was good was chill relleno the combo red was not good.

I went here twice first for a burrito the 2nd time (because my kids wanted to try it) for a pastrami and fries and they ordered tacos. This was by far the most horrible food I’ve tasted the fries tasted like they were cooked in year old grease and the pastrami tasted burnt and was awful…the burrito was mostly tortilla I will never eat here again!!

I've been passing by this place since I was a kid and finally gave them a try, I don't know how they've stayed in business. Supports a small business. Limited parking available in the back. Tragic, what was once an amazing establishment has become a piece of trash. the quality of the service or lack there of is unacceptable. To charge $4 for an extra salsa, photo included or a 350% in 1 yr for all items or the lack of cleanliness needs to be investigated. Best to take your business elsewhere where they still have a soul.
