It’s a photogenic and beautiful shop, adorned with festive holiday boxes. The staff were friendly and professional. Alex assisted with choosing gifts and made sure allergen requirements were met. His attention to detail and patience was greatly appreciated. The tiramisu gelato was sweet and contained coffee bits. The fruit flavors of lemon and mango were refreshing. A delightful shop to visit!

But instead, there I was—standing in front of their glorious gelato counter, eyes wide, heart full, and indecisive as ever. Let’s start with the moment: my first bite of their olive oil gelato. I don’t say this lightly—it was transcendental. Like, “is this what Botticelli tasted when painting Venus?” kind of moment. That velvety olive oil richness hits you up front with confidence and elegance, like a well-dressed Italian man offering you espresso and secrets. Sure, the intensity mellows out as you keep eating, but it never disappears—it just evolves. A plot twist in every spoonful. Now, let’s talk about the cone. This wasn’t your average sad, soggy cone. Oh no. This one had chocolate bits woven into it like a love letter to cacao itself. It was the best “cone upgrade” I’ve ever had. Crunchy, chocolatey, luxurious—it deserves its own certificate of excellence, frankly. And the staff? Patient, kind, and blessed with the empathy required to deal with someone (me) who treats flavor selection like high-stakes diplomacy. I felt seen. And then—oh, the pièce de résistance—a little chocolate coin placed lovingly atop my scoop like a crown. It made me feel like gelato royalty. A duchess of dessert, if you will. They also have this gorgeous outdoor patio space, which I longed to sit in like a wistful character in an indie romance. Alas, I couldn’t stay, but next time? I’ll claim that spot with the same passion I bring to gelato tasting. In conclusion: Venchi is elegance dipped in chocolate, sprinkled with patience, and served with a golden coin. Beautiful chocolate- literally. I always go here for gifts and an espresso for myself. The staff is friendly but not pushy. Bought the hazelnut spread with olive oil and it puts Nutella to shame.

Best hot chocolate I have in a long time - or ever?- I would say this place is delicious, not only the hot chocolate has the right consistency but also the right sweetness, is dark and thick but drinkable as oppose to other places where is takes too much like milk or is too thick that can be drank. We came in late craving a sweet treat, didn’t realize it was closing time. Didn’t matter, Kat and David were the absolute nicest. When my friend wanted a crêpe, they accommodated our order even though it was obvious the machine was already cleaned up and off. I walked into Venchi on Columbus and was greeted with such warmth and enthusiasm by David, that I let him guide me to buying absolutely the most delicious ice creams that I’ve eaten in years. I got the hazelnut gelato and it was divine. Make sure you get it with the chocolate chips on the bottom of the cup. The two people that helped my friend and I, David and Danke, were very nice!

I have traveled to Venchi locations all over the world. This location is so convenient to the park and the quality is excellent. Sean was absolutely lovely and truly made my experience so delightful. Even in the winter Gelato is always a good choice. The pistachio and tiramisu are my favorite flavors. They also have amazing vegan options. Their vegan chocolate is RIDICULOUS.

Me and my friends stopped by this cafe looking for a spot to try some cheese we bought next door. We were greeted by Alexander who made us some great coffees and let us use the indoor seating to try the cheese we bought. Amazing experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, the place smelled like pure chocolate heaven. The staff member greeted us with a tasting tray and explained each flavor with real enthusiasm, it felt more like a mini chocolate tour than a sale. Every piece we tried was incredible, smooth, and rich without being overly sweet. Naturally, we ended up buying much more. Ice cream is fine here, surface is also OK, but the real start of the show is their massive selection of specialty chocolate bars and individually wrapped small chocolate pieces. Come here if you’re looking to get some of the best and most unique chocolate around. They have walls lined with every type of chocolate you could ever want!

If you’ve had gelato from here, you know you cannot fail with their classic flavors. Delicious Italian ice cream. I am a fan of the pistachio flavor. Their prices are quite high even if you go for the smallest size. The price between small and medium are short of a dollar in difference — definitely uncool 🙄. Otherwise, this is definitely a 4/5 place. Great place for dessert. 🍨

I wanted to have their Icecreams but by the time I could reach the spot. My tummy was filled with milkshake which I had earlier bought from another restaurant. I will for sure have one next time I am in town.

Went for the hot chocolate, as I’m a fan of the melted chocolate style. This, however, didn’t have as much flavor as it should, and I think from the texture there are thickeners used rather than just chocolate. Not impressed. Ole and Steen’s is better.

Very inconsistent!! The first time I had their affogato it was 9/10 literally soo good. There was a good amount of ice cream that made the espresso rich and creamy. So I went there second time and it was 3/10. They barely gave any ice cream the second time, it was like hot runny coffe. Wasn’t even sweet enough. Very disappointing.

My first time tasting your ice cream 🍦. The taste was perfect. The texture was very good, the taste excellent and original but unfortunately the welcome was not there. The gentleman who was supposed to serve me was in a hurry to serve me and leave there as if I was annoying him. I admit I didn’t know what to choose. I wanted him to make me proposals as some waiters do but he was more concerned with a closed face, not even a smile) about freeing me quickly than helping me or offering me good customer service. Besides, not being able to take it anymore, he told his colleague to serve me. But when he left to serve other customers, he was very smiling with them and even showed them your boxes of chocolates. All customers should be treated in the same way.

I was here last year with a few friends. We’d never been but some of us had heard about this brand and wanted to try it out for something cold. Myself and a friend had nut allergies - me to hazelnut in particular. Having never been to this store, I didn’t know hazelnut was so prevalent in their product. This is totally fine for my friend and I as we weren’t going to get anything with nuts. We got to the front of the line after waiting a few minutes and were asking about some of the flavors. We also mentioned we had a nut allergy (regular nuts and hazelnut). As we were going through and ordering, I wanted to get the dipped cone with my order - as I thought it was like the hard shell chocolate. The whole time the woman taking our order is talking to me like I’m stupid for not knowing that their shop has majority hazelnut products. I told her that I am also near sighted and the font on their menu screen is a bit too small for me to read, even with my glasses on - so I was having a tough time reading what I could and couldn’t eat. After I place the order, the I let the person scooping the order know about my allergies. They then asked me if I was sure I wanted the dip cone, as it’s chocolate hazelnut dipped. I said that I didn’t know and definitely did not want that. The woman taking our order looked at and me stated talking rudely implying I should have know that what I ordered was straight hazelnut chocolate. No refund for the extra cone or anything. The man scooping the ice cream was so kind and helped to make sure there was no cross contamination. But boy, the woman taking orders was so incredibly rude toward my friend and I just for asking questions about the ice cream. We likely will not be coming back.

I was excited to try the Venchi location here, although there was a little wait, that wasn’t the issue, I bought a regular size and got two flavors, the portion could of been more generous , compared to the people who ordered the baby cups and got more ice cream than I did. Out of courtesy, I did not want to tell your staff about the portion concern, there was one lady at the register who kept telling us to move but we couldn’t move because there was only one person multi-tasking. I felt a little cheated on the size portion, so really disappointed in my experience. Best.

I came in with a long line of customers, and only one staff member was working even though the second register was open until one hour before closing. I asked the lone employee Nora twice if she could call someone to help. She just replied, “We’re closing.” It felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially during such a busy time. It took us 30 minutes to get a Gelato!! See recipe 9:52pm but the store close at 11pm, Google says 11:30. This is the second time I’ve witnessed this lack of support. I live really close by and had hoped for better service by now but they simply don’t care. Because of this, I will not return. It’s not just one bad night it’s clearly a pattern. MANAGERS please take care of this you will lose business!!

Unfortunately no matter what time or what day, the majority of staff continues to have an extremely poor customer service and a horrible attitude. The scoop is $8+ so there’s definitely no need for the bad attitude on top. Not a single smile while you’re serving ice cream? Even if you have some of the most tasty flavors, there are at least 4 other ice cream spots in the nearby radius. It would be a shame to have a good place that closes because of poor hiring or poor quality of staff.
