Recensioni di Doba Oaxaca
Doba in Mazunte is my absolute favorite place to order from. The food is incredibly delicious and feels genuinely healthy—packed with my favorite superfoods. I also really appreciate that there are gluten-free options. The staff is always so friendly, and I honestly order from here almost every day. I couldn’t recommend it more—try it
A great place for a meal! Delicious "upscale" Mexican desayunos, good regional coffee, excellent whole grain sourdough bread. The cooks have respect for eggs: cooked beautifully. Takes credit cards with no surcharge. A quick walk over the hill from San Agustinillo. We'll be back!
Mazunte is crunchy as it can get! Great vibe and tribe of humans. The food at Doba is healthy, fresh and yummy. Breakfast juices are freshly made and the egg dishes, divine. The BLT I had for lunch brought me back to the homegrown tomatoes of summer in the Midwest with mouth watering bacon (and I'm not a bacon freak) french crunch lettuce enveloped in sourdough bread. Mayo of course. Yum, get your hinder in your yogi gear or just come as you are to Doba! <3
Hands down one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Their gut detox shots are exactly what you need to start the day feeling fresh, and the mushroom toast? 10/10. Rich, earthy, and so well seasoned. The whole vibe is relaxed but stylish, staff are super friendly, and everything just feels effortless. Can’t wait to come back next time I am here
This is one of the best places to eat in Mazunte. Cozy, peaceful, and full of heart. They have amazing vegetarian and vegan options, as well as great dishes with meat, all made with fresh, organic ingredients. Their smoothies and natural juices are delicious, and they even prepare special herbal teas or remedies if your stomach feels off. The staff is incredibly kind and thoughtful, always ready with great recommendations and genuine care. Whether you’re looking for something healthy, comforting, or just full of flavor, this place has it all. Truly nourishing food and a beautiful atmosphere. A must-visit in Mazunte. :)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We just had the most wonderful breakfast on the coast of Mazunte! The traditional Mexican dishes were absolutely delicious — full of vibrant flavours and made with so much care. The service was incredible too; everyone was so kind and welcoming, making the whole experience even more special. And the coffee, rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking to start your day with great food, great coffee, and a beautiful coastal atmosphere! 🌅☕️🌮
Tasty, variety, friendly, a bit slow on service but makes up for it with the food. I was trying to find a different restaurant when I was walking by and saw a sign that said tofu, thought it was just a shop that sells it but turns out it was also a restaurant that served it! I’ve been here twice now and most likely will be going tomorrow, it has some great options and I have tried all the GF and Vegan things. There are many more items that are Vegan as well that I cannot try due to not having gluten, literally almost everything on the menu can be vegan. Amazing. My favourites by far would be the Pancakes, the Oatmeal, and the Waffles. To me, they perfected those dishes that tend to be a little sweet, we even asked for them to hold off on the sugars and put and syrups on the side and it was still delicious. They are also very generous with the fruit. The Hasbrowns and the Quesadilla things where not the best. Hash browns had a strange taste, and the salad with it had chopped up spinach with super long strands of carrot, just making it irritating to eat. I feel like smaller diced carrot strips would be a better choice. The Quesadilla NEEDS a dip, or some sort of vegan cheese, maybe a queso or a cashew mozzarella. It has little to no flavour with-ought, maybe I just got a batch, who knows. The Tofu bacon that comes with it as well is very dry and just tastes like burnt tofu if I’m going to be honest. With a vegan sour cream & salsa the meal would be BANGIN!! The drinks are good, I tried some cold press juice, smoothies and cacao drink. The smoothies were good, just be prepared as the guava ones have all the guava seeds and it can be irritating to the teeth, like drinking a smoothie with little rocks. The cacao drink was great though, I would just get whichever type but with Soy milk, delicious. Perks me up, as I don’t drink caffeine. The staff are very helpful and friendly, first dude was super kind, smiley, and happy to have small talk. Great vibes from him. The second day was a girl and she was kind enough to have all of our questions answered, and didn’t seem bothered to ask them to the cooks. I appreciate this a lot, as it helps me feel safe and understood at your restaurant and it helps you, the worker, know your menu even better than you did before. PS. Heads up for customers, the power sometimes goes out randomly and we had to pay cash since it didn’t come on for the 30 minutes we waited. Love this place 🙏 good vibes
Doba is THE place for brunch in Mazunte. You can’t go wrong here. Rodrigo and Marjo are true chefs. Whether it’s an innovative twist on a traditional favorite, or the tastiest vegan/GF homemade concoctions (their jams, nut butters, and sauces are to die for)… if you only have one meal in Mazunte this is it. We, on the other hand have had brunch here every day for 3 weeks. With such an extensive menu (and great coffees), we never get bored. And the staff are amazing. Thank you!
This place is hands down the best breakfast / lunch spot we found in Mazunte/San Agustinillo/Zipolite. The food is healthy, and it's clear they really care of the quality of the ingredients and the menu in general. It's cool and relaxed during the hot days, wifi works great, the staff are in a good mood and attentive. Everything we tried was great, but our favourites - avocado toast / sweet pancakes / mushroom coffee ❤️
We went there 5 days in a row for our breakfast. The service is fast and perfect. It looks like they are part of one team. We liked waffles, smoothies and coffee. In our last day I decided to order toast with almond butter, banana and blueberry: it was served just with 2 blueberries. And they even splitted it so it looked even more weird. If you don't have enough berries z just do not offer them to your customers or makes changes in the menu so customers have clear expectations about their order.
After weeks of Mexican food I was craving a salad. Doba was the only place in town with a make your own salad option. Quality was good but price was little high for Mexican standards. Excellent service and great atmosphere like a tropical European cafe. Would recommend if you can pay a little more.
A wonderful place with really good food. The smoothie bowls, coffee, and overall quality are excellent. The experience could have been even better if the staff had been a bit more warm and humble. At the moment, there’s a feeling that you’re almost in the way — you hesitate to ask questions, to request a different table, or to make small adjustments. There’s a certain cool, slightly snobbish tone that makes it hard to fully relax. And that’s a shame, because you want to feel comfortable and at home, not cautious or afraid of being a bother. Still, I truly recommend the place for the food, the smoothie bowls, and the coffee — they are excellent.
I first came to Doba two years ago and immediately fell in love with the place. Since then, I’ve recommended it to countless people and, upon returning to Mazunte this year, it was the very first place I went — for both breakfast and lunch. I made it my regular spot. The place has clearly gained popularity since my last visit and was very busy this morning. I came alone and, despite there being a free table, I was asked to sit on a high chair facing the wall. I explained to the waiter that I have back problems and cannot sit on a high chair, but I was ignored. There was an empty table for two, yet I was not allowed to sit there because I was alone. Eventually, I stood up, asked to pay for my coffee, paid, and left. No one asked why I was leaving or checked in in any way. This experience was deeply disappointing — not because of the chair, but because of how it felt to be treated as less welcome as a solo guest, despite being a loyal customer and supporter of the place. Hospitality is about people, not just policies, and unfortunately this morning that was missing. I won’t be returning.
The service is very bad, the staff is completely untrained. They can barely walk and don't notice the situation in the room. They spilled my coffee, took it away, wiped it with some rag or towel, and returned the same coffee. They brought my tea and spilled that too. Are you serious? Is this normal? We waited a very long time for our breakfast, 50 minutes. 50 MINUTES. We paid for the coffee and tea and left. We won't be coming back. Another downside is that there are a lot of flies here, and they don't do anything to control them. Apologies aren't enough. If you say the kitchen is small, make it bigger and serve better.
