Our travel advisor insisted fresh seafood was a must in A Guarda, and our hotel recommended Marisquería Riveiriña. They were spot on! The Parrillada de Marisco y Pescado was a revelation - overflowing with perfectly cooked lobster, prawns, scallops, and sea bass. Each bite was pure delight. We also savored the Pulpo a Feira and Pimentos de Padron, both fantastic. Special thanks to Gerald, whose attentiveness and warm service made the entire experience top-notch. We highly recommend Marisquería Riveiriña (or otherwise known as Restaurante Riveirina)

Delicious parillada de pescado. Lovely friendly service. Great view of the harbour from the terraza but the interior of the restaurant is amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

Exceptional seafood at reasonable price. Simple setting, very low-key with friendly service, good food and interesting wine list. A great option by the sea, the menu is almost exclusively made of seafood. Parrillada and Mariscada are the most popular options (seafood plate). The scallops were simply delicious. The wine list is surprisingly extensive and covers mostly wine from the region - Rias Baixas.

Order the seafood platter #2 to try scallops, shrimp, crab, razor shrimp and more great treats at the same time. Fantastic and incredibly fresh! Fuimos allí a probar y degustar unos percebes. Estaban excelentes y trato exquisito. Restaurante familiar y simpático, todo muy rico, los postes también nos gustaron mucho. Y vistas preciosas del puerto

De paseo por la guardia hemos tenido la mala suerte coincidir con las fiestas del pueblo que tenían lugar en el monte y entonces el pueblo estaba poco animado. Pero hemos tenido las suerte encontrar este restaurante donde hemos podido comer unas raciones buenas

Estuvimos cenando. Atendidos estupendamente por Débora, muy simpática y pendiente de que no nos faltase nada. La comida está muy bien, lo que más nos gustó fueron las zamburiñas y los percebes. Las vistas desde el restaurante muy agradables..!

Nos pusieron en un salón de la primera planta con unas vistas geniales. Pedimos arroz con bogavante y estaba rico, el arroz algo pasadillo, pero buen sabor. El bogavante nos sorprendió que no fuese entero le faltaban algunas partes, pero estaba sabroso. Huevos con patatas y chorizo para los peques, almejas y unas zamburiñas que estaban muy ricas. Tardaron una barbaridad en servirnos, había bastante gente, pero en general estuvo bien.

Restaurant was almost empty. Food was ok. The fried calamaris was mushy and soft. Not really nice. The paella 🥘 was okish. Flavourful but nothing I would say it’s wow. Paella was for 30€ 2 person. Amount was fair and we couldn’t finish it. Glas wine 3€, 1,5l water for 2€ it’s very fair.

We visited this place in the corniche of La Guardia first time 6y ago. We returned there recently during our trip in the north of Portugal and Galicia. We love the seafood and shellfish of Galicia and this place is in high position in our consideration, serving the best seafood you can taste, not comparable to any other places we know around the world, except also in Portugal and Spain. In our last visit, we took the typical oysters of Galicia, flat but meaty and tasty, the large local crab (with spikes, much more delicious than the french crab), freshly boiled from the tank, cigalas a kind of lagostinos, and to finish the grilled zamborinas (scallops in their shell grilled with butter and garlic). All this was irrigated by a generous amount of albariño rias Baja's. In the next day we were there again, for a menu with slight variations on the same theme! We love it. Price wise, consider between 50 to 100 euros per person, depending on your choices.

We had fantastic food but can't say it was perfect. Still, we drove 1.5 hours to eat here and can't say I was disappointed. Super happy about the overall experience. The parrillada came out a little 'too quick' to my tasting, left me with a sense that some of the parts may not have been cooked to order. But that really is just a guess. It was a slow day and we we're almost the first in so... hard to tell. Do phone in and book in advance during the the summer time!

Lentiiiiisimos. La comida estaba bien, la camarera fue correcta, pero tardaron unos 45 minutos en traer los entrantes y más de 1 hora larga en traernos los principales. Vale que el local estaba lleno y había camareros moviéndose todo el rato, pero la cocina debe de ser el embudo, porque no fue ni medio normal. Ni algo para matar el gusanillo mientras esperas, ni un aviso previo de que van a tardar. En una mesa al lado, por poner otro ejemplo, aparte de tardar muchísimo también, les trajeron la comida a dos de los cuatro comensales y, cuando ya casi habían terminado estos, la comida de los otros dos. Un desastre. Quizá fue un problema puntual pero no lo parecía, ni tampoco lo dijeron. Una pena. Quizá otro día sea de otra manera, pero yo no lo puedo recomendar.

Tengo algo q decir respecto a comida,servicio y ambiente. Comida: percebes absolutamente sin más (yo los como 1-2 veces al año y he probado mucho mejores) encima con lo q cuestan,el buey d mar igual ...insulso. y las almejas un rato mejunge que parecía puré de verduras,mejor a la marinera señores,o clásico vapor y limón. Servicio: el camarero apenas dijo hola, gracias,ni explicarnos nada y mucho menos adiós al irnos... (Por eso no volveré) Ambiente: mesas apretadas y cercanas y poco espacio en la terraza. Una mariscada de 60€ donde la calidad era mínima...se salvó la tarta de queso que estaba increíblemente cremosa y buena de sabor. Hay mucho que mejorar,no solo por tener buenas vistas al puerto para ver el atardecer ya está todo hecho... Estaban en fiestas,igual dan de comer peor cuanto más lleno está el pueblo...caso error.

Ordered a seafood platter and it was on the table within approx 5 mins. Lobster tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave. Not at all impressed.. and when I complained to the waiter.... I found him to be uninterested and somewhat arrogant.. Def would not go there again

Solo se salva la atención de la camarera. La comida cara y de calidad pésima. Parrillada de marisco y pescado por 80€ no solo cara si no escasa (se ve en la foto). Estaba pasada y seca. El resto de platos… meh. La primera vez que no me gusta algo en Galicia. RECOMIENDO NO IR.

¡Un engaño total! Preguntamos a la encargada si había mesa y de todo el marisco. Haciendo hincapié en percebes y necoras, que es la temporada. En mesa, pedimos a la camarera dos mariscadas, la 1 y la 3 (80€ cada una). Al rato vino diciendo que se habían agotado las necoras, ofreciéndonos gambas en su lugar. Dudamos, pero al final lo aceptamos, pensando que serían gambas frescas del lugar. Cuando trajo las mariscadas, las gambas eran “gambones congelados de caja” de las que se compran en supermercados. Y en la otra mariscada, faltaban los percebes de los cuales no habían dicho que faltasen. Y como no, en su lugar eran gambones congelados. Como se aprecia en las fotos.

We had a reservation at 14:00, called to ask if we could arrive at 14:30, they said yes. When we arrived at 14:40 they already gave our table without calling us before. They said no one talked with us and they spoke really ugly and treated us badly. We went to another place.

The service is professional and brisk at the popular Riveirina Restaurant and we were looking forward to a feast of seafood, having ordered a platter. We made our order and it came almost immediately which was not a very good sign as one suspects it has been sitting there ready to go rather than being put together after the order. The platter was generous as you can see from the photograph but the scallops were over-cooked and stuck to their shells. The prawns were also overcooked and the clams in a sauce, had an odd, bitter after-taste. The other items were good. We were given mayonnaise in a carton, I just find that lacks style and love. In the end, I don't want my seafood over-cooked and it's as simple as that. It is the first rule of seafood cookery not to overcook fish so that is why I only give one star. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is cheerful.
