It's like walking into an old Italian village family restaurant. every table was full of happy guest being treated to the highest level of services getting you ready for one of the most authentic, fresh meals I've ever had. Everything was excellent.
I was staying in SF while my mom was in the hospital. I have never gone to a nice restaurant alone, yet the hotel highly recommended for me to try. I was outside reading there menu when a nice man walked outside I shared with him my concerns sitting alone, he said not to worry. He sat me at a nice window table brought me over a glass of wine to try, it was fabulous, dinner, bread and dessert were all very tasty, so glad I went.
Our server Yanet was amazing. I asked her for a suggestion and she was great. The chef made a seafood risotto for my husband. From start to finish it was amazing. We will be back for sure.
We tried the soup of the day, which was a creamy mushroom soup, and it was absolutely delicious. For the main course, we had the Penne Basilico, which was also very good, especially with the cheese and pepper they served on the side. We finished with the crème brûlée for dessert. It was decent, but the caramelized top wasn’t as crisp and crackly as it usually should be. Our server was incredibly polite and gentlemanly, and his recommendations were spot-on. He made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the meal. Overall, it was a great experience!
Personally, I really like this place because they have a great vegetarian menu. The staff service and their suggestions were excellent—one of the staff members actually recommended my entire dinner and dessert, and it turned out to be an amazing experience. A must-visit spot, and I’ll definitely be one of their regular customers from now on. Special thanks to her!!!
The decorations inside the restaurant are very cute and cozy! The man who served me was very nice. I ordered penne bolognese, and it was great! The tomato sauce with diced tomatoes and the cheese on top blended perfectly. It had plenty of meat too. The fresh scent of basil was delicate but still present. Pasta was boiled in between al dente and ordinarily cooked pasta. I think this is to keep the al dente feeling but still not interrupt the cultural difference! The bolognese in this restaurant is special because it had leeks in it. It gave a refreshing feeling so that you don’t get bored of the same taste. Grounded pepper gave a great accent too. I loved their bolognese. I definitely want to try their other pastas too. The bread they served me before the pasta was also good. It was a little salty with a hint of rosemary, which is perfect to start the meal with! The restaurant was not crowded at all for lunch at past 1pm on a Wednesday. No wait time! Great!! I am glad that I found this restaurant🥰 The food is good and everything is smooth!
Best Italian restaurant I have ever been to! Service was quick and so so amazing! Host/hostess takes you to your table and you are served immediately. You will never run out of water since they bring it to you before you run out! The atmosphere was amazing. I loved their music, it simply just added to the experience. The food was cheaper than you would think! Especially since it was so high quality. (If you are planning to get bread appetizers know that there is free bread.)
I can't say too much about the food - I was in the mood for a light meal and just had a chicken Ceasar salad, which was fine. The feel of this quiet little neighborhood place was like being back in Italy. Classic old decor, pleasant old songs playing softly, and a delightful staff. House Chianti was good and very reasonable by SF standards. I'll go back when I'm hungrier and try some pasta!
It's a lovely little place, cozy and elegant, and the servers were quick and on the ball. We had lasagna and chicken parmesan with pasta and it was delicious. When we arrived, the host seemed a little put out that we didn't have a reservation, which felt very awkward and unwelcoming, but they seated us anyway. There were several empty tables, even with a few being reserved, so I'm not sure why we were received like that, but the meal was delicious anyway. Moral is, they want you to have reservations apparently.
Cesario’s is a decent neighborhood Italian spot, but overall the experience was just okay. The restaurant itself is very small, and unfortunately we weren’t seated where we requested, which set the tone early. Throughout the meal, it also felt rushed, rather than relaxed and welcoming. As for the food, it was fine but nothing particularly memorable or standout for Italian cuisine, especially considering the reputation. Not bad by any means—just not something that would bring us back specifically for the food. With a little more attention to guest comfort and pacing, it could be a better experience.
I had high expectations walking into Cesario. After passing by two nights in a row and seeing the place packed, I decided to finally stop in for dinner. At 5:30 the restaurant was already full. The host told me to wait about 10 minutes, and since it’s such a tiny spot, I sat in the hotel lobby next door until a table opened. The meal, unfortunately, was a letdown from the start. The garlic bread was just toasted baguette slices with packets of diner butter , not what I’d call garlic bread. For my entrée, I ordered the special: New York sirloin with fettuccine in tomato parm sauce. What I got was something completely different chopped steak pieces cooked far beyond well-done, tough and chewy, served in a heavy Alfredo cream sauce. It was inedible. The only redeeming moment was dessert. The lemon cake, while simple, at least spared me from leaving hungry since I barely touched the main course. Overall, it was a terribly sad experience. I assumed the food must be great given how busy they always looked, but for me, the reality was the opposite.
Extremely disappointed. We arrived with a confirmed reservation made through OpenTable, only to be completely denied service at the door. It is unacceptable for a restaurant to list availability on a booking platform and then refuse to honor it upon arrival. This lack of organization and disregard for customers' time ruined our evening plans. If you are looking for a reliable place that respects your reservation, I strongly suggest going elsewhere. We will not be coming back.
My husband and I dined here tonight before a show, and oh boy, it was not a good experience. We arrived at 6:05. and did not receive our meals until 7:20. The kitchen released the food only after we pressed our server and explained that our show began at 7:30. Every table around us faced the same delay. A couple beside us, who had arrived at 5:40, were served ten minutes after we were and ended up late to their own show. The floor manager offered no apology and made no effort to remedy the inconvenience. Instead, he suggested that the delay was our fault because “everyone arrived at the same time”—in other words, at the dinner hour. The food was awful. The bread and butter were both cold. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana, which was laden with full slices of tomato and so much ricotta that I became nauseous after eating while hiking up Nob Hill to The Masonic. The only positive thing that I can say about the experience is that the restaurant had a nice, cozy atmosphere.
