Best pho in Bay area. No frills, just great food. The pho is wonderful, but they make these little latticed rice noodle "clouds" for their vermicelli bowls. I'm hooked. Hours are limited,- like extended lunch , early dinner kind of hours. Staff speak almost no English.
I continue to find my way here for lunch while I am working in Alameda. I have consistently received outstanding service and the food is authentic compared to the other restaurants that I have visited in San Diego, Virginia and several locations throughout Florida. Fresh and fairly fast, the outdoor seating is extremely quaint and the folks here are very friendly. I highly recommend you give out a try, even if you just try the Vietnamese subs.
This place is such a sweet little cozy place. Basic interior but really comfortable. We found the food to be very good and very fresh tasting. A sweet little spot on the main strip. Worth checking out truly enjoyed.
Best pho in Alameda by far. Great service, and plenty of seating and parking. Spring rolls are off the hook, and I highly recommend. This location is a little different.....need to order at the window, and then go sit and wait for your food in the seating area on the side. If you love pho, and are in Alameda, you MUST visit here.
I have been here over a dozen times and never had a bad meal. The pho is perfectly seasoned and not too sweet on the broth. The Bahn mi is the perfect size for a quick lunch. The vermicelli and rice dishes are always cooked to perfection. This is my favorite Vietnamese in the entire bay area.
Love their vegetarian lemongrass tofu and tofu banh mi.... love that you can park easily in their lot
Unique little eatery with enclosed outdoor seating. Great menu with affordable prices. Awesome staff. Open late! Even at night in the Feburary chill, we were warm and comfortable in their outdoor seating area.
I usually go to Oakland to get pho but since I live in Alameda this is my go to place for vegetarian pho. There food is the best and the vegetarian pho has so much flavor. The vegetarian spring rolls are amazing as well. If your ever in Alameda you have to try Vietnam house. I tried so many places in Alameda and I love this place.
This is my go-to local place for tasty Vietnamese food. The dining area is in a tented outdoor patio, so on summer nights its a great place to eat and enjoy the views of Park St. In winter they do have the heaters running, so it helps to make the place feel cozy.
Veggie pho so flavorful and lotsa delicious veggies. The Veggie Spring rolls might just be the best Spring Rolls I’ve ever had. Flavor and texture And I’m a meat/seafood eater!!
I loved this place until recently. I used to go there to have lunch with a friend before we pick up our kids from school. I also order to go and I enjoy their food for the most part. I went there recently and I ordered to go. They charged me 19.25% tax on my recent order. I ordered two items and should have been charged $26 plus tax. The tax in Alameda is 10.75% so my total cost should have been $28.80 but they charged me $31.01 because of this I won't be going back for now. I don't know how many times they have overcharged me. You need to be careful because some restaurants will automatically add tips and then you give them additional tip without realizing that they added it to your bill already. Update- We have gone back after not going there for a while. We like their food and they aren't overcharging me.
This place just opened and we loved it! It's in an old weiner schnitzel building so it has an odd charm to it. Outdoor seating, fast friendly service. The pork vermicelli plate was fantastic and the lemongrass vermicelli soup was on point. Great value too. Will definitely be back.
best veg banh mi ever made
Real taste home style food and fast service 100% recommend
Food was good, to be honest, that it isn't as good as most of the pho place i gone too but it can be a alternative to my regular pho place in SJ while I work at alameda. The service was quick and the cashier and waiter were very nice.
Been coming here for years… but their prices have gotten insane along with the inflation. $28 for pho tai and shrimp spring rolls….this is the exact metric Jerome Powell and Janet Yellen should be using when discussing what the current economic conditions of the country are. Service is kinda hit and miss too. Had my order dropped off at another table where I watched it sit for 5 mins before the server put it back on the plate and brought it to me. IMHO;the spot has somewhat gone down hill in the past few years but the food is still solid. Anyway you slice it it’s still worlds better than the weinerschitznel it replaced in this location many moons ago. It’s kinda hilarious to be eating Vietnamese food outside the building/ architecture/ infrastructure of former hot dog stand
The best spot in alameda to get pho. The broth has a great beef flavor and the meat is very thinly slice is perfect. The brisket is tender they give a good amount of thin slice meat on the broth. The egg rolls are good not to oily and has great flavor of meat and veggies in it. The service is okay not to bad but it could be better and prices are great.
10/10 vegan banh mi. Comes with tofu and mushrooms along with delicious veggies. So fresh and delicious!
The Go to Vietnam street food (Kind of) spot in Alameda, with the regular selection of Banh Mi, vermicelli combos, and rolls, both deep fried and fresh. Lots of Vietnamese drinks. Fresh and fast service in this old Der Wienerschnitzel location Across from Gengis Khan all you can eat BBQ
GREAT👍WE WERE HUNGRY MY WIFE DEBORAH LOVED IT😎SHE IS NO LONGER THREATENING DIVORCE😏😏
Very good Pho, inconspicuous location at an old Der Weinerschnitzle place, can get very crowded.

Top 5 bowls of Pho I've ever had. Just happened upon this spot. Yes, it's a little shady feeling, yes the English barrier is there, yes there were local folks and YES it was one of the best bowls of Pho I've ever had... And that counts the many bowls I had in Vietnam.
My favorite vegetarian Pho. Good broth and yummy noodles. When I don't get the Pho, I get the tofu bahn mi or the vegetable spring rolls.
Love this place! Delicious food and very affordable! They have a covered outdoor eating area that gets a nice cool breeze when it's warm out, and has overhead heaters when it's cold out. The staff is very nice and we've never had a bad experience here. They have a large parking lot that always has a spot available. I hope in the future they're able to offer less plastic when ordering to go.
I stopped in to get some take out. Its a sweet mom and pop place, friendly folks. I ordered a rare steak and brisket pho, an order of korean corn dog, and a pineapple drink. The rear meat was packaged separate outside of the broth, which was great. I cannot state how awesome the broth is. It is rich and flavourful, and one of the best broths i've had. Some serious love and knowledge goes into this soup. The korean corn dogs were hot and crispy and fresh. I read some reviews, so already knew to go containers are extra ( they have a whole sign that lets you know about that and encourages folks to bring in their own containers). The prices are very fair. I highly recommend giving this place a try. Seriously - this broth.

Nice outdoor seating but not that many tables. The area is good for both summer nights and cold winter nights. Ample parking spaces as well. Pho is not as good as Sidestreet Pho but it's not bad either. Portions are good and the menu has plenty of other items to try. I enjoyed their BBQ chicken plate and vermicelli more than the pho. Someone will drop off food to your table but don't expect table side service. The staff are friendly.
Good food fast, I like the bahn mi sandwich and thai ice tea. Cost more than the one down the street tho. I did ask them to clean the table 3 times (during corona virus), she finally did.
One of my go to spots for banh mi. Very good sandwiches! And the price is fair. They put a decent amount of meat in their sandwiches and the bread is always fresh and tasty! I like the beef sandwich and the chicken is good too! Try the shrimp banh mi? You have to ask for this one and it cost a little more but it is also tasty if you are craving some sea food. Their pho is also good. Usually good service, but sometimes when you order to go and wait outside they accidentally send it inside to the eating area. But it is OK, not to big of a problem. There is also this very cute Vietnamese young lady who always gives a nice smile and shows great costomer service. Any time you go to a restaurant and there is a very nice looking young lady who has great customer service skills, this is a very nice thing to go back to! So keep up the good work! I will be going back! Try the place . Later
Great place for pho. Wasn't crazy about the Viet coffee. Beef rolls were delicious. Food was not oversalted or oily like most places. great find
Very flavorful Vietnamese food at a decent price. Friendly service, and appreciate that their eating area is dog friendly and that they have their own parking lot. They have made many upgrades in the eating area, with heaters for the winter and air conditioning for the hotter days.
The lemonade and tea were really good! The dish that my daughter ordered she also really enjoyed as well. The only thing I didn't like was that on my sandwich if had a ton of jalapenos on it. I wasn't expecting to have 15 pieces of jalapenos inside it that's for sure, even more so I can't eat the things. Otherwise the place was good
1st time eating here, got the #10 & #12 pho combos, XL size only. Order at front & pick up in the seating area. Staff was friendly and food came in 10mins since there was 3 people ahead of us. Everything tasted fine and gave us plenty of sides, bean sprouts, basil, etc...extra sauces were on table. Bus your own table. The tables were sticky, we found the least sticky one. Maybe its their cleaner? It was good and quick enough I'd go back again.

This place has great food and a great staff but I am not getting takeout there again until they switch to recyclables. They even gave me a plastic straw, which I thought was not allowed. Even the in-house water cups are plastic single-use. Update: still no switch to sustainable packaging. Management: please consider switching! Thanks.
A casual Vietnamese restaurant in Alameda utilizes the old Wiener Schnitzel building. They made some improvements in that the outside seating area is now somewhat enclosed. Food is good with friendly service. I have tried their pho as well as their seafood noodle soup. Both were good. Dress warm if the weather is cool, as the covered outside seating area could be somewhat cool. There is no inside seating. Dogs are allowed in the covered area which makes this place one of my favorite casual restaurants in Alameda. There is plenty of parking space which is very rare for business on Park Street.
Ordered the pho tai and vermicelli bowl with beef. Both dishes were good, but nothing special, and it seemed overpriced for the quality. I've had much better pho and vermicelli bowls before for half the price. For example, both dishes did not have nearly enough vegetables and the meat for the pho seemed of lower quality. Overall, the food was good but the next time I want Vietnamese food, I will be trying somewhere else before returning here.
The food is good but, the service is awful... got my order wrong twice. The food came out and our drinks weren't ready for almost an hour. I asked for small cup and was told no. For the price and service their are better options in Alameda.
Tried this place on a whim. Got a banh mi. Too much bread not enough filling. Nothing stood out. Below average. Will try the other dishes, maybe. Service was not that great. Nice bright open space to eat and parking.
We had the Pho Ga (chicken pho) and the ham bahn mi and it was just average, nothing really stood out but our bellies were full afterwards. The prices for the items were a bit high/overpriced compared to other places but we were in the area and wanted to try this place out. This used to be a Wienerschnitzel back in the days so thats why theres the beautiful A-frame building design to this place.

I agree on overpriced and the place isn't what it used to be with previous owner/mgmt. I asked for extra sauce was told $1 the dollar more wasn't the main issue is how I was told and the way was handled. And I saw another review said extra lime/lemon $0.50 extra. I totally running a restaurant need comes countless expenses and with Cola keep raising. Also the quality wasn't good compare to previous that I also noticed. Thank you for reading I hope this help for anyone future visit. I am by no mean badmouth or judging a nice restaurant but nothing but my honest opinion with my many visits.
Chicken Pho which was very good even if it needs a bit more fresh greens. Bun thit nuong was not as nice. Lacking the fresh flavors you normally get from Vietnamese food. The shrimp spring rolls were good, but the peanut sauce was way too sweet.. Highly recommend the pho, will try again next time for bahn mi

$17.99 lunch for egg noodle with 2 pcs of shrimp and wonton was over priced. I asked for a couple of slice of lime and they asked for 50 cents extra.
I’m disappointed in my recent several orders including smaller portions, forgotten items when I got home, and my last order experience made me realize that I don’t want to keep coming here. Ordered 3 entrees including a kids pho. Was checking my order after paying when a lady ran from the back kitchen to tell me they accidentally gave me to a regular pho and asked me to go back to the register and pay the difference. Not stressing over a few dollars but was just weirded out that they wanted me to pay extra for their mistake? Still just asked for the kids pho so they took the other one back, I’m assuming to give to someone else? Whole thing just disappointed me since I’ve been coming there for nearly a decade but it’s not worth it anymore. Would rather go to Pho Nation or Peppermint Baguette nearby. Don’t want to trash a small family business but they charge too much to keep coming up way short.
Really wanted to like this place but it looked like the woman who ran the place retired and the nephew took over. It had a completely different menu, and the cook has changed so the pho didn't taste as good. Also, in trying to cut cost, they did nit give you bean sprouts to put into the pho, instead gave us shaved cabbage. Fresh summer roll did not have any mint in it so tasted super plain. When I asked if I can have the fish sauce for dipping sauce for the roll instead of the usual peanut sauce, he said there would be an extra 1.00 charge. Wow... Most places have a choice w no extra charge. In summary, taste quality went down and uses cheapest quality ingredients but charges hefty prices for a pho.
I really wanted to like this place since it's a mom and pop restaurant. Kind servers but the restaurant lacks alot of accommodations and charges for almost everything (ie extra onions, to go boxes, meat for the kids pho). Got the vermicelli and the vegetables were pretty skimpy. It was good but I don't think we'll be back especially when there are other better options.

I'm allergic to peanuts which I let them know before I even ordered. They told me the dish I ordered did not have any so I waited. When I got my dish it did in fact have peanuts and they spilled onto the rest of the food. Then I returned it and asked if I could just get another with no peanuts. When I got my food back, there were still whole peanut remnants and obviously it was the same plate. I could not eat though I tried to tough it out and got an allergic reaction. Terrible experience. Would not recommend.
Vermicelli noodles were terrible. Do not recommend
Ordered two #10s soups. Beef over noodle plate/container (covid)... Sandwich... Spring rolls... Egg rolls... Thai coffee...sodas... For my wife and two boys. Beef over noodles had ants. Returned it... Soups didn't have all meats advertised. Returned them. They said they were going to do them over. They didn't. They added missing items plus ants. Got a refund.
been here 3 times in total i thought it was just my luck but after the 3rd time here it was confirmed they over charge and add on extra things to the order. english barrier does exist so there’s no way of telling them not to add or or to remove it. definitely my last time coming here. definitely better spots in the area or surrounding cities than this one!!!
I asked for a ban mi no onion and it had onion. Asked for a mango smoothie and it had no fruits but syrup
