This is by far the best Chinese place in Astoria. Their pork buns are incredible and the orange chicken is the best I've ever had. If you usually get general tso's or sesame chicken, I recommend giving it a try.

This is the best Chinese takeout you can find in Astoria. Everything is extremely flavorful and less greasy than a lot of similar restaurants. Delivery usually comes in under 5 minutes. Prices are fair. Try the Sesame Chicken!

Hands down best Chinese food in Astoria. I’ve tried a few take out spots around here but nothing matches this one. Superior presentation, amazing taste, and top notch reliable service highlight their business.

The pork egg roll melted in my mouth it was so good. And the beef fried rice was exquisite. I keep going back. You won't be disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered delivery from Dragon and Phoenix tonight. The estimated time of arrival was 30-40 minutes. Granted I live close, it arrived in less than 15 minutes. This has been the best Chinese food I've had in Astoria. Everything was fresh. None of the veggies were under-cooked and it was still hot when I finally sat down to eat it. I very much appreciated everything about this experience.

Genuinely the best Chinese food I’ve had in a very long time. When you order it from a place like this, you’re not expecting authenticity, but you are expecting Americanized Chinese food and this does that better than anyone else I’ve had. One of my favorite Chinese take out in the area. Been coming on and off to this location since they were still at their old location on 31st. Recently moved back to the area and was happy to see that it's still maintained it's quality. They are very friendly which is refreshing for Chinese take out.

Tastes good if your going for a lunch break for work. We order from here alot so it does the job when we're hungry. If your on a diet and need to eat vegetables they like to load the combo dishes with veggies and 30% of it would be the protein you ordered so if that's your thing by all means go for it. Wish they would offer more free beverages for larger orders since alot of combo orders rack up the bill. They prevent free beverages from being given out by not including the combo orders towards the free can soda price threshold this is my opinion should be removed. Keep it for the lunch specials but don't include the combo's For someone whose currently on a veggie binge I like and at the same time don't like that 70% of your chef specialty orders that come with veggies and protein are mostly veggies and not enough protein. For example I ordered a seafood delight recently and found more greens than seafood I wouldn't mind a decent ratio like 60 greens - 40 protein but you could just tell visually upon opening the food this is just mostly veggies and the price at that point doesn't do it for me after the fact. Their saving grace out the surrounding 3 other Chinese takeout restaurants this one is best out of them in terms of taste, quality and food options. Price is ehh if you like paying premium for basic veggies and protein at a take out place.

This place is always consistent, fresh and delicious. As a new resident of Astoria, off Ditmars Blvd, my boyfriend and I have been looking for our "number one" Chinese food take out restaurant. Dragon & Phoenix has not disappointed. Cheese Wontons/Crab Rangoon are a homerun -- more fried than I'm used to and typically like, so I only eat the pouches, not the very crispy ends with no filling. Scallion Pancakes are delicious. General Tso's Chicken has a different taste spin that was pleasantly surprising. Less sweet than I'm used to, and not overly doused in sauce. This is typically my boyfriend's go-to dish...it may actually become mine from D&P! Fried dumplings are great - if the sauce was a bit more sweet and less salty, they may be the best I've ever had. Boneless spare ribs are perfectly sauced and had no real grizzly pieces which can be typical of some places portions. The small was still a really robust sized portion. They thew in an extra soda, never short you on plastic ware and sauces, and are quick to deliver. Portions are generous -- I'm about to try out their Hot and Sour soup, which i brought to work for my lunch today. Highly, highly recommend.

This was my second time having Chinese food from this place. I the same meal(sesame chicken with white rice), and I shall say that the food was on point, once again. Good stuff! I recommend people try this place out. Looking forward to more items in the future. Keep it up Dragon & Phoenix!

I know people are weary about eating at a new chinese restaurant (so am I). This place is mainly take out however it is now the only Chinese food restaurant that i trust. The place is clean and the food is incredibly fresh. The chicken is not chewy and there is no MSG. I order from here weekly. If you are looking for reasonably priced, great chinese food, but are nervous, eat here, I couldn't be happier.

It's at take out place. The atmosphere isn't relevant here. The food is always prepared fresh and served really hot! Service is fast and good.

This place has solid Chinese take-out food. The workers at the counter are nice, and they give you free soda with your order sometimes when you unlock some special order algorithm. I highly recommend their diet Orange Crush soda. I was not super impressed with the cold sesame noodles (menu item number 12) here. In my opinion, cold sesame noodles are a mandatory staple of all take out Chinese places and they should be a reliably delicious late night indulgence. The cold sesame noodles here were lacking in flavour and consistency. They were a little on the watery side and the noodles were lacking substance and texture. I liked that they had plenty of crunchy additions like carrots and cabbage, but could have used some cucumbers, sesame seeds, and hot chilis. Nonetheless, the noodles were still serviceable and I'd be willing to give them one more try. The dumplings here are wonderful. The noodle portion was thick and chewy and satisfying, while the vegetable filling was well seasoned, moist, and took up the dumpling sauce well. I ordered the dumplings "half steamed, half fried," and the gentleman at the counter obliged my special request. I was not disappointed. Dragon and Phoenix is a great place when you want standard Chinese takeout food. They are definitely above average in terms of food quality and service.

The hot and sour soup just shouldn't even be served. A Chinese takeout staple, general tsos chicken is very average. Expect popcorn sized chicken bites rather than actual chunks of chicken. There is no crisp to the fry though you could blame this on the sauce and being takeout. As for the sauce, it looks and tastes like the modified red sweet and sour sauce you'd get with sweet and sour chicken. If that's what you like then you'd probably love this. But it is not real general tsos chicken, which should have a deep, earthy sweetness with a hint of spicy kick. There is no spice in this. I've also tried the szechuan shrimp, beef and scallops, dragon and Phoenix, and Cantonese pan fried noodle with seafood. All of these are loaded with mixed veggies. In fact, about 60-70% of the container is mixed veggies and what you actually ordered is the rest. The szechuan shrimp is not spicy at all. More sweet than anything. This is coming from someone who generally can't handle spicy foods. Beef and scallops are average. The beef is ok and tender but the scallops are thin and might as well not be there. Dragon and Phoenix is general chicken with Szechuan shrimp. So you can imagine that. The pan fried noodles were basically lo mein that was deep fried into a very thick disk and I was given essentially seafood delight to pour over it. Oh yeah, they also charge $2 for delivery, which sucks.

So many amazing reviews here and on seamless but I was a little bit let down on the quality and preparation. My fried wontons were soggy and meat was funky, the dipping sauce was oddly ketchupy and vinegary(mind you I like both, but it was not a great combo. Felt like low quality sauce. My eggroll was sort of limp and flavorless. Chicken was ok but rice was hard. :(

I should have trusted the reviews...lol shrimp meal had 4 shrimps but like 3 servings of veggies, not spicy and flavor was lackluster. Egg roll was fire !!

This place does not hold a candle to Hong Kong off Broadway. Tried it once and could easily see and taste the difference. The ingredients are of a much lower quality and standard.

I’m really disappointed that their menu says “twice cooked pork” and they sent me a disgusting dish full of carrots, mushrooms, peppers, and terrible massive fried chunks of pork. I’ve eaten hundreds of dishes of twice cooked pork all over the country. It’s ridiculous to call the dish I was sent twice cooked pork. That aside, the dish was disgusting anyway. The food is disgusting and I don’t play about my food. Nasty taste like some out of town Chinese food. The wackiest and nasty food. Like the hood has wayyyy better food than their nasty horrific food. Don’t get me started on the egg roll. They had a bug in their food. I will call health inspection.

This is usually my go to place when it comes to Chinese food, never disappointed...till tonight. Hundred year old eggs sound fun and delicious but not when it comes to fried chicken, the fried half chicken I've got was dry, greasy and it looked ancient, worst ever!!

Literally the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten and the worst customer service I have experienced. My mom ordered boneless spare ribs lunch special for me and beef and broccoli lunch special. My meal was absolutely disgusting. The ribs were not seasoned and had no taste. The texture made it feel like they were about three years old. My mom ended up getting "sautéed broccoli". Um what? Where is the beef? My mom called them back to complain and the woman said that you have to order the BBQ sauce separate for the ribs and that all Chinese food places are different. (Right....) the woman also rudely said that the guy who took our order wrote down sautéed broccoli so thats what we got. Instead of trying to rectify the situation, she started up an argument. We will not bother with them again and neither should you.

Okay 5 stars for the food but the Chinese delivery guy keeps asking for more than 2 dollar tip everytime he delivers. So rude ! I even told the owner about this but he keeps asking me for more tip money! Rude chineselady very demanding on my card info to charge me and yelled at me for asking questions Only care about money

I really genuinely hate to be that guy, but there was half a dead centipede in my soup. I only ordered in because I'm sick, and I was put off the rest of my meal ($30). The lady I spoke to was nice and offered either a $3 cash refund for one of the 2 soups, or to deliver another wonton soup (no thanks, I don't really want to think about where the other half of the bug is). I understand bugs exist and things happen, but I'm pretty bummed lol

no salt, no flavor… cooking just to cook. three dishes all the same flavor… shame because the meat is good quality but I had never met a Chinese without salt… very clean place but from a Chinese I expect salt and flavor…
