Very good morning bagel with roasted tomato and great Appalacian turkey sandwich for lunch- both imaginative and delicious. Very pleasant staff
Good selection of breakfast and lunch items. Everything I have tried has been delicious.
Amazing potato salad. Awesome lunch options. Tuna melt was delicous, and something I will def be coming back for!
great service-great food. An extensive menu with some more exotic offerings. Roomy atmosphere & outdoor seating available. Pretty waitresses offer attentive service.
I love A Better Bite! I work at One Commerce Plaza & pre-COVID, I ate there at least 3 days a week. Delicious & the staff is great!
I work in the building so it's a convenient location. I really like their shakshuka on a bagel and their capri sandwich! They also have nice soup varieties.
Small and easily accessible to downtown Albany. Healthy salad and smooth options as well as a wide breakfast array, coffees and hot teas.
this is the bagel bite that used to be on Delaware Ave some great food same amazing prices and a real blessing that they have kept a lot of the same staff. This is truly a local Albany gem.
This is such a delightful lunch joint! Great vegetarian options and interesting flavor combinations. Always kind and quick service!
Omg, delicious. I had this amazing breakfast sandwich with roasted tomatoes, home fries. I can't wait to oder from these guys again. Fast too.
Yummy turkey club sandwich within a block of Capital Plaza. Lovely patio seating too (its covered).
Delicious, Delicious, Delicious!!! ...the menu is amazing, so many choices, & creative amazing ingredients... If you have not been here, it is worth every~single~bite!!!💝
What a great find! Friendly waitress and very helpful, wide variety of selections for breakfast and lunch. We ate breakfast there and food was amazing👍. If you are in Albany, it's well worth dining there 😊
the cornbeef hash was by far the best i've had! and breakfast sandwiches were fresh and prepared nicely! they just got a repeat customer! Thanks Better Bite!
Good place for a quick-ish lunch on a Saturday (~30 minutes from ordering to finishing the meal with only one other party seated on the patio) . Great view of the Capitol.
Food was delicious, and plentiful!
Food is always on point. Eggs always cooked the way I ask and friendly staff. They need help though one counter girl cannot do it all! She rocks regardless but get her some help!!
The food was delicious and the service was great! I had the New Yorker sandwich and it was delightful!
Ordered lunch, was able to pick up.
I had the most delicious caramel latte here. So worthy that I had to look up Better Bite and review. Something so simple, but it seriously made my day :) The staff was also so friendly even when it was the morning rush and very busy!
Great food, fresh ingredients, no table service but plenty space to sit down in or outside. I'd recommend the chicken shawarma, hummus and pita or any grill sandwich
I arrived here for a late lunch and was bummed the menu I was looking at was outdated since it’s in the process of being updated. I ordered the garden veggie burger with sweet potato fries. They no longer sell the veggie burger and by 3 the grill is turned off so I was out of luck on what I wanted. I ordered the beyond burger and my friend ate the macaroni salad. While I would’ve given this establishment a poor review Mariah at the register was really sweet and tried to help by offering other choices. The food was absolutely delish and I would come here again - late and all. Mariah had great customer service and professionalism and the food was delicious so I’m giving them 5 stars.
Quick service and delicious breakfast sandwich, Downtown Campus on an everything bagel. Also got talking to one of the ladies there and asked her if anyone had pointed out that the NYC skyline picture showed the twin towers being built in the distance. Didn't seem like anyone had mentioned that but on the way out I forgot my cappaccino and she was quick to catch me before I got out the door. Looking forward to using the preorder setup during lunchtime and trying out other things that they have.
Perfect sandwich, fast staff, and great environment. Yes it's fast paced, and yes there can be a line, but in the capital district, you can't do any better! Great tea and juice options!
Went here this morning. Had a meat lover's omelet. It was delicious. A good place to grab something for breakfast. Will be going again. Thank you 😊.
If you want a quick and delicious bite, this is the place to go! We came during lunch, and as expected they were very busy. However, they moved through the line so quickly and efficiently, while still provided such kind service! Highly recommend!
I had the Hadassah wrap and my husband had the Tel Aviv sandwich. It was wonderful, full of flavor and very satisfying. Better Bite has been a favorite of ours for years. The staff is very friendly. Thank you for being open.
Went today with my friend and had a fantastic breakfast. We had a weird mix up when ordering, and the two women that were working were very helpful and friendly. 10/10
Better Bite Catering was impressively splendid, not only were they friendly, timely on delivery. The food was amazing and I wish I took pictures of everything we received. Worth every penny. Our office ordered breakfast sandwich platter, the sandwiches, were not only fresh they laid out and presented beautifully. The pastries were also amazing. Coffee juices, freshest cut fruit! All condiments, napkins, paper plates and silverware, creamer and sugar. If I could this establishment more stars, I would!
In town for work. Went there for breakfast and lunch. The menu is amazing and my coworkers agree. We will be coming back every time we’re in town. It didn’t seem like there were many good choices such as this one downtown Albany. All the staff were friendly. Anyways. Their Juices are amazing, so was the French Toast. Also had the Chicken Schwarama. Amazing.
I don’t know how they do it, but they serve the most delicious chocolate chip pancakes in Albany.
This place never disappoints. Such good food. I love getting people a meal from here for their first time and blowing them away. Also, their Center Square omelette is my hangover fix. They have one of very few coleslaws in existence that’s worth eating, it’s got a little pineapple and is refreshing.
I rarely write reviews but this place is fantastic. Usually ordering breakfast for take out can be ehh but everything here was so amazing. Not to mention their veggie sandwich was incredible (best I’ve probably ever had). Wasn’t expecting much because usually restaurants don’t put much effort into vegetarian dishes but wow exceeded my expectations
The girls there were so very polite and friendly. They saw my husband using a walker and helped him carry his food to the table. When he accidentally spilled his coffee, they came with towels to wipe it up and a fresh cup of coffee - without being asked. And to top it off, 3 of us had delicious omelettes with great potatoes.
Breakfast or lunch the food is always great. The sandwich's are really filling. Only potato salad I eat besides mine. Prices are decent for your portion size and quality of product! Top notch stuff!
My family and I had to visit the NY State Division of Licensing. At street level is this cafe. It’s right across from the Capitol Building. My wife was asking my daughter should we eat here and a guy in a suit walked past and said the food in there is fantastic, so we took his advise and went in. It’s during the pandemic so people were generally getting take out. We sat at a table. Let me tell you, I have eaten all over Manhattan in NYC. This place ( in Albany!) beats them all ! We were shocked. Everything we ordered was delicious! I told the people , who are the owners I believe, how great their food is and the were very appreciative. Do yourself a big favor, go there.
Coleslaw and the Supreme BLT were my purchases. It was delectable! I believe apple cider vinegar is used in the making of cole slaw, which was a good tart side for my sandwich. I love this restaurant because of the friendly and accommodating personnel. I'll be back!
I love the food. The specialty sandwiches and breakfast sandwiches are great!
Always excellent food, on time delivery. Tons of tasty options
Always a good experience. I love the Ibizia chicken salad, no eggplant, on wheat bread. Such a good sandwich. Filling and yummy. Consistently good.
Love this place for the good natured and helpful staff. Although I typically have a late breakfast or brunch, I've never been disappointed -- other than once when their awesome homemade Corn Beef Hash was not available! However, the suggested Greek omelet was the best ever! Outside porch is a great place for enjoying the nice weather under cover. Bicycle friendly.
Just simple Deli Restaurant in the middle of Downtown Albany. Food tastes just like all other Deli eateries. I felt energized after eating this and could walk around easily. Very close to free Public Parking after 12pm with security watching our vehicles until 5pm without charging an extra fee.
For lunch the food is a little more expensive than other places but definitely worth it. Their food has a district Mediterranean flavor to it
I ordered a Supreme but w/ tomato pesto lettuce bacon mayo w/ 3 cheese potato salad pickles bag of chips n a seltzer drink all pretty good
The food was very good. The service was slow because they were understaffed. Seem to do a big take out business. The phone was ringing the whole time.
Food is really good but I have to think the portions (shawarma platter, at least) getting smaller
Friendly staff. But it seems they are running a skeleton staff because of Covid. Ciabatta is great. Eggs were meh. Counter service only with big dining area inside.
Wonderful homemade food. Can't go wrong with a thing on the menu. Great Mediterranean based food. There's fresh healthy juices to cleanse you after challah French toast or unique homeade corned beef hash (even if you're not a fan, chances are this nothinf like what you're used to). Formerly Bagel Bite, family owned restaurant on Delaware, the change in location and updated atmosphere has not changed a thing with regards to providing good eats. Service is mostly great. Have had a miss or two with wait staff being dry and unattentive but not typical.
The food is good and the menu items are a good selection. The woman who can't speak English at the register has bad customer service. Not cheap
The food was very tasty and arrived quicker than I expected. The portions were good, not oversized. The service was good, but not perfect (no napkins until requested). Will certainly go back.
Great place for breakfast or lunch. Cool Mediterranean takes on some staple meals. Lunch gets busy, so don't be surprised if there's a short wait.
Respectfully, I went here because I didn't pack my lunch. However, I have patronized this place regularly [ I have come here about 20 times] and the most in the area. The last time I was there, they clossd the grill at 1:00PM. I was told this happened because they were understaffed and were working on a catering project. On the phone, I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, with a pickle --that did not show up in my box and coleslaw [ I like coleslaw, but this tasted a little sour and the container was wet but normally, their coleslaw is good] as well as a tomato bisque soup which came with crackers. The sandwhich was a 3 out of 10. It could have been better. The soup was very good. Face to face, I bought a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. I tasted it and normally, I would expect to taste staleness but this cookie was not stale. The cookie was good. I picked up my order 15 minutes after I ordered it on the phone. It cost me $18 dollars and change I spent 20.00 all together. It's dine in and take out.
Omelettes were great! Just be aware that the prices you are charged do not reflect the price on the menu at the counter. When I asked about the difference I was told “Prices are subject to change”
They make a really tasty sandwich but just expect to wait an hour and a half for it. Seriously even when you call ahead 25 minutes it's still an hour
Used to be so good! The last few times I’ve been really disappointed with my food. It seems like maybe they’re struggling with staffing and product due to Covid. Will give them another try after things settle down.
Food is great service is quick if u order ahead of time! Seats can be limited during lunch hours. Wide variety of menu options and they are more expensive than other local competition. I don't wanna spend $10 for a sandwich because the location is convenient 😕
Coffee is fantastic. Foods alright. Service is always terrible, the girls at the front desk always give me an attitude and make me feel very rushed so I don't order as much.
The lady at the counter is rude she has a nasty attitude. She was mad with me and a friend for not telling her I food was separate. She has the wrong job. And nor a good look for business. But this isn't the first time.
I've been ordering the same breakfast sandwich for months now. Today a guy answered the phone(who killed 2 stars for this review) sounding upset at his job and with his life and said(in a Homer Simpson voice...) " We don't do that here." I explained to him that its been done before but he couldn't wrap his egghead and cheese brain around that fact. Stop letting the cooks answer the phone when its busy, that's like letting a Dentist do heart surgery. If a cook is answering the phone they need another spatula in hand Pronto, as the wait time in Better Bite is crucial during breakfast and lunch. The food is great though!!! a bit pricy but who's counting???! My bill collectors are, that who!!! hahahaha
came in to pickup a order and nobody helped me for about 5 minutes. only to be told i cant take my order unless i show them it on my phone. even tho I told them my first and last name. crazy. I had to walk back and get my phone in the freezing cold. also caused a scene in front of a bunch people. very embarrassing on the business' end. "employee" who i dealt with was some guy named aiden. was really upset about this. other than that food is good.
Loved this place, come here at least twice a week for breakfast, coffee, lunch. Have never ever had a problem. The staff is awesome. Always tip, even for pick up. Today I went in during my lunch break at work and ordered the Madison. With macaroni salad. I got back to my office and started eating. I got potato salad. Didn’t care that much that they messed that up. Kept eating as I worked. Then i noticed about 3/4 of the way through the one half of the sandwich that there was ZUCCHINI on it. Ew. I did not want the tuna melt special. Which has almost everything that the Madison has. I go to return it as it’s all wrong and I don’t want zucchini on my sandwich. I wait about 20 minutes. I go up because I’m missing more work. This RUDE guy comes to the front who I find out OWNS THE PLACE! He starts telling me “it’s half eaten how didn’t you notice” hm probably because there’s about one ingriedient difference from the sandwich I ordered and I’m WORKING . I wasn’t going to return until a wet sloppy piece of zucchini fell out of the sandwich. This guy was being extremely rude I actually was sort of in shock seeing as everyone else that works there is extremely kind. I tell him how many times a week I come and how much MONEY I spend there. He literally goes, “so what ? “. Sounds good sir. Fantastic way to treat customers who come weekly. Sometimes daily. I ended up being so offended that I said have a good one and walked out. Wasted 10$ on absolutely nothing and won’t be going back. Great way to maintain customers , and I will definitely be letting others who frequently go for lunch know .
Prices have gone up and quality has gone down. There's hardly any cream cheese on bagels now. There's 1/2 as much cream cheese as there used to be. Just repeat disappointments and wasted money.
Food was always mediocre and a bit overpriced. Location was convenient to my work, so I grabbed food from here occasionally. Now, management has decided to add a surcharge to your bill if you pay by credit card. I won't be going back soon. There's a another cafe just a block up the street that has better food, lower prices and less attitude.
This place is very very mid. It survives because the area around one commerce plaza is a desert for food. They routinely get your order wrong, and the prices seem high for the area. I would only go there as a last resort if you work upstairs.
Let’s start with the service I Waited in line for about 10 minutes but the two people in front of me only ordered coffee. The girl at the front walks away and is very apologetic. About another 5 minutes past before someone takes my order. I order a hot chocolate (tasted just like brown water ) and a western omelette with toast and home fries . And the food was nasty. Home fries were burnt. Toast had no butter (nor jelly in bag) and omelette was good once I put hotsauce on it lol .Probably wouldnt go again …
1st time ordering. While the sandwich was tasty, it wasn't exactly what I wanted. The receipt has what I ordered, the Downtown Campus on a toasted sesame bagel. What I got was the correct sandwich on an untoasted everything bagel. It's not rocket science especially when it isn't busy. Sorry, but not making that mistake again.
Decided not to give a tip because the cashier was unpleasant and rude but they took a tip from my card anyway. Twenty percent nonetheless! Made a meal for two almost FORTY DOLLARS
Why the hell would you stop serving burgers! Smh Oh well! Menu items have been the same for years...BORING, BLAND and VERY EXPENSIVE!!!!!
Terrible establishment. Waiting 40 minutes for food. Absolute disgrace. People are on lunch break, we can't wait this long to get our order. 1 star is too high.
Charged me 5 for burned "home fries". These "homefries" were also a poor excuse of home fries. Could barely tell that they were onions it was all so burned but there weren't any peppers.
Today, I was overcharged $10 for my lunch and they gave me the wrong soup. Food is good but the quality of the service depends on the day. Today was a frustrating one!
So to start off with, they charge more for cards, so make sure you use cash if you go there, and also be very wary of the menu as it seems massively outdated as the dont serve burgers fish fry and Phillies cheese stake, also dont order online or over the phone because they will charge you more for that, I have one recipt for the assembly that is 11 that I ordered in line and an assembly for 13 dollars that I ordered over the phone, they have shady business practices
I went in to buy a bagel with peanut butter. I was charged $1.50 extra for the Peanut Butter. Your pricing is horrible and you have just lost a customer. Didn't know that there is a shortage of peanut butter to warrant PB surge charging. MAJOR FAIL!
The manager of this place needs customer service skills. He’s rude and disrespectful. I would never order from here and they discriminate against DoorDash orders
Customer service ok, although, cashiers not friendly! Prices extremely high. They will not meet customers needs. They will not deviate from the menu, under no circumstances. A turkey sandwich only cheese on wheat bread grill, no pickle no chips, no sides $13. Way over priced.
Lovely ladies at counter but cook / waiter/ acting manager attitude sucks . Chicken cooked so hard that it wasn’t edible. I have had chicken fingers their prior to that and that’s not the case . No Customer service skills in management . I definitely will keep my coins in my pocket and make better choices .
A Trash Experience. From the initial phone call, to my physical meeting with the owner, I was left feeling that I was wrong for trying to patronize this restaurant. The good staff I interacted with were the woman I first spoke to, and the security officer, as I was escorted off the property. A customer of this establisment said "Hey buddy, how much do I need to pay you to leave." I was a first time customer, but I'll never come back here. Go to the One eleven for breakfast. This place is disgusting.
I usually go here, good food, I dont care for the price. But I recently ordered a Isreali Salad and it had a string of hair in it. Of course I wasnt happy but I got really upset when I brought it back and the manager acted as if he did not care. That is very disappointing, terrible customer service.
Cashier had a nasty/loud attitude & refused to serve me, stating that I wasn't in line. But I was next, there was no line it had just formed after me. The customer she was putting ahead of me even agreed & was witnessed by another A Better Bite employee. The place is overly busy &even the manager did not satisfy me as a customer. The only professional was the young woman giving food. Otherwise Thumbs down👎🏽! Customer Service Matters!!
Literally just ate lunch there - found a dark hair in my food. Brought it to the owner/manager's attention, he brought it to the cook's attention, the cook laughed. I received a reluctant apology and the blame was passed to the manufacture of who they get their pitas from. I work right next door and will NEVER come back. I'm sure I can pay $11.00 for lunch somewhere else and receive a "hair-free" meal or at least decent customer service. Anywhere else would have made me a new meal or offered my money back.
I ordered a burger- no bun, I didn’t want fries so I asked if I could substitute a veggie and they tokd me they didn’t have any. I asked for just the sandwich and they still charged me the same $10 as they would’ve for a full burger with a bun and fries. When I questioned the cashier she was rude to me and said yep it’s the same. Not the first time s cashier has been rude to me, guess I have the picture now- not coming back!
Service was awful. Our original waitress came over just to ask for our order and then never checked back with my friend and i. My friends order came out wrong and we had to grab another server since ours was nowhere to be found. They came back with the proper order after it was “cooked” however it was not fully cooked through The owner came by eventually to ask what was going on and after explaining to him, he just walked away with frustration and did not agree to comp the bill. I would not come back
I was waiting for 40 minutes for an order that was placed at 11:38 am was supposed to be ready for 12:02 pm 12:50 pm is when it came out. Never again will I order form this place. And the hot sandwich was cold.
They removed chicken from their menu but still have it online. Months ago when they had a full menu, I often ordered a chicken club on a wrap. Today I was told chicken sandwiches only come on rolls - LOL. For the price and limited menu, you would think they would be more accommodating. At this point they're more of an inconvenience than a benefit to those that work in this area.
Incredibly expensive food for very poor quality. The only reason this place is still in business is because state workers have very few options for breakfast and lunch when the weather turns cold and the food trucks leave for the season. It used to be good, but not anymore. If you're desperate then it is what it is, but I wouldn't eat here again
Ordered Homemade corned beef hash with 2 eggs any style on my break... I get back to work no corned beef hash?? How do you forget the hash when the name of the dish is "Homemade corned beef hash!" Requested that I bring it back. I arrive and then they ask for me to wait for them to make the hash... so everything else gets cold? The eggs, the home fries and the toast? No.. I'm on limited time and can't just wait around for them to do their job right the second time. Nobody's got time for that. Unhappy that I requested a refund. Well, I'm unhappy I can't have a nice hot breakfast now on a cold day! Or should I have taken what would have been a cold breakfast with rushed undercooked hash.. sorry but not recommending. Better options are in the area.
I work for Radiology at Albany Medical Center and we order from Better Bite all the time, 50 to $100+ at a time because we loved their food. When the manager first came to us with the menus he told us they didn't have a minimum order charge for delivery, then we ordered breakfast and they told us we had to have a minimum of a $30 order. We let that pass. Today I go to order lunch and the girl on the phone tells me its a $30 minimum order. So I told her I would call back. Our order was $27.85. My coworker called and told them we had a $27.85 order will they deliver. She went to ask the manager and said the manager said $30. So my coworker says, so we usually order 50-$100+ but today your going to lose a customer over $3 and she said that's what the manager said. So needless to say, we will NOT be ordering from them again. Just on principle. You went from no minimum for delivery to a $30 order, who does that. $10 or even a $20 minimum order for delivery would have been accepted. Not me....GOOD BYE BETTER BITE!!
Giving them a 1 star for impact... Sandwiches are excellent. The people are excellent. The service would get 5 stars except for one pet peeve. I like that they use paper based boxes. And I like that they use paper bags. But the problem is the paper bag. It can't be used as a bag. It's just another layer of paper around the box... It has to be carried like a tray and not like a bag. It's annoying. I'll still get sandwiches here, but I hate how they use their "bags". It's wasteful and ineffective. That is all.
The food is usually on point and delicious. I got comfortable ordering the chicken sandwich which I don’t normally do at restaurants after two good experiences. Third time isn’t a charm. I’m so upset because it’s perfectly crispy and tasty but of course they used a gross piece of chicken. now eating curly fries for lunch. Looks like I will stop getting the chicken. Update to this review. I frequent this place as it’s in the building I work in and give them quite a bit of business. Today they were so awfully and unnecessarily rude as a result of an extremely simple request that would’ve taken 2 seconds. Their food is tasty and it is convenient but i will not be going again. next door to cafe one eleven it is. There are a lot of complaints on here about their customer service but they refuse to get it together. Several small hairs in my salad. Gross had to throw the whole thing away
They mislabel a lot of traditional Arab food as Israeli. I used to go here for breakfast all the time but the prices are too high and I don't feel comfortable enabling the appropriation of Arab cultures. I'll take my money somewhere else.
The atmosphere is the nicest around here but the food has gone downhill since the last few times I've eaten here. I think the worst part is that this place not only falsely labels Arab food as Israeli, but also butchers those very simple Arab salads and ingredients. I don't want to support the erasure of Arab culture. To people considering this cafe, please just go to one of the nearby delis, cafes, or Middle Eastern restaurants. The food and service are way better and cheaper at those spots.
Not only does the food suck for the cost, but they'll include things you specifically ask to remove & then tell you it's "not fair" to give you a partial refund when the food made you throw up. Really great, guys, keep it up. Place is hardly accessible for mobility aids on top of this and impossible to maneuver.
