Large varied menu with both sweet and savory options. Fresh juices made on site. Friendly service, very flexible, allowing substitutions.
This is a popular spot for Sunday brunch and for good reason. Since it’s inside an old railroad station, the inside is narrow but very well decorated and there’s tons of outdoor seating too. The food was delicious and there’s tons of options for drinks, desserts, and pastries as well.
Everything was incredible. This place is such a gem! The old train station gives the cafe so much charm and character, the location is beautiful and relaxing, the food is amazing and fresh, and the staff is so friendly. Will definitely come back 😍
The ambiance is great! It small on the outside, but bigger than it look on the inside. The staff was welcoming, and the food was pretty good.
Enjoyed from the outside view of this cute gem to everything that was ordered. Labne appetizer was a favorite. The one thing is Falafel was flavorful but not as crispy on the outside as I would prefer. Goat cheese salad with mango was light and delicious. Lavander latte was good. And definitely want to come back to try their deserts.
If you need a peaceful corner to relax and have a delicious bite, this is the best place in Tenafly. The nostalgy of the old railway station itself plays a huge role in this setting... The menu has been cured with care, and each dish exhibits its own signature. The food is very tasty, well presented and generously portioned. The veggie omelet or quiche accompanied by the fresh mixed salads are the house's statements. Please, do not miss the iced caramel machiato topped with whipped cream, served in a country style glass jar with handle! The staff is wonderful, quick, and ready to help at any time. The prices are more than reasonable. I am coming here for many years...The management successfully succeeded to create that peaceful corner where you will go again and again, but still feel like it is your first time. Simply put, the customers are feeling very special... Bonus: free big parking right in it's yard! Unforgettable experience, and hope they will continue to stay like this over the years. R.V.
Food is good but the service could have been better. We had to let them know that we were waiting for sometime to place an order. Considering the fact that that the default tip option while paying by card is 20%, the service can be much better
A really cute breakfast spot, especially sitting outside on a nice day. The drinks were really good and probably the highlight of the food. I got an iced latte and my boyfriend ordered a mochachino. Boyfriend ordered the pancakes with sides of scrambled eggs, sausages, and potatoe wedges. He really liked the sausages but everything else was okay. (I liked the potato wedges and how they were seasoned). I got the lox bagel sandwich which was also okay (the bagel was cold and not super fresh).
Unique little cafe in the old Tenafly railroad station. We stopped for a late breakfast, and we're pleased with our choices of a croisant with eggs and cheddar cheese and everything bagel with eggs and turkey bacon. Both orders came with a generous size spring mix salad. While we didn't have them, their pastries all looked delicious. They also offer a large selection of specialty coffees rivaling that of a Starbucks. A nice choice for breakfast or lunch.
Lunch at Café Angelique on a random Saturday afternoon was simply delightful. Before the weather got cold, we ate outside under a huge tent with other surrounding tables. Located in the historic part of Tenafly by an old railroad station is Café Angelique. Food was delicious, one of my favorite parts was the big smoothie I ordered. My acai berries smoothie, first time I ever saw a restaurant serve it in a larger cup. Delicious. Service took some time to navigate from checking customers inside the restaurant to outside where we were in the tent. Well worth the wait. Can't wait to go back to try other menu items. All payment accepted, parking is available around the town.
First of all, I’d like to say that I really enjoyed the atmosphere but unfortunately they didn’t have the cute Paris chairs like they have in the photo shown on Google, but the ceilings were high and the atmosphere was still really nice. The food however the eggs were stale and tasteless unfortunately but the boreck and the Nutella dream was amazing so I wouldn’t suggest this place to get food but just get coffee and dessert.
Make sure to check your bill carefully because they’ll charge you more than what’s written on the menu. They also don’t bring you the itemized check before paying so only after paying the total and requesting for the receipt did I know they did this. They’ll justify their overcharge by showing you the fine prints on the menu that says “prices are subject to change”. Never did I know this meant restaurants could charge you whatever they want without any notice. Raising the price is understandable and acceptable, but charging the customers the raised price without letting them know is a scam. Fix your menus. It’s really not that hard. Horrible experience and wouldn’t recommend dining here.
We’ve gone here for 2 decades, used to have a lot of respect for this place, haven’t been in a few years. Got charged $4 for 2 hot waters for our kids who were freezing with the AC high on a cold day. I asked and was told its steamed water so it’s extra charge. Also the check I was given had different prices than the menu had - when I asked while paying they said oh yes prices have changed but menu hasn’t been updated… what? Also when I first walked in I was put off by the moldy smell inside. Also generally restaurants don’t dump and organize all their silverware loudly next to the guests eating. Shakshuka was good, but don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon after this experience.
Horrible experience! We went there because it looked like a cosy place for getting breakfast. The waitress was ignoring us and tossed the menus on our table without a word of greeting. Being turned off by this treatment we still stayed since the place looked charming (even though it’s very chilly in there!). The food was insane: the cream cheese was a left over from another persons breakfast plate from a different day (dried out and obviously eaten from!!) and the women told us: “No this is fresh cream cheese” and my croissant was without any fluff as you expect when you order a croissant sandwich. After leaving this place all this gave us a stomach ache 🤕 and the “waitress” was sitting happily like a customer on one of their tables. Never ever again we will go there. Too many GOOD coffee places are close by.
