What I would a great dive bar. Two television that you can see from anywhere. Nice tin ceiling, good draft choices, and cheap prices on cans.
Keith is so sweet and amazing ! we came early in the morning which can be a bit strange for anyone but he was the coolest person ever and very very accommodating !! keith for the win !!
Great atmosphere. Awesome crowd of Irish (and the Irish always help make a night better). Bar has proper character and staff were super too. I’m from the UK and I’d go again
Came here by way of a recommendation from this lovely lady at Anne's. By the time we arrived, I was deep into a homemade edible and was essentially in another dimension. All this to say, best bar on earth.
i spilled my drink here and they were so kind. love the vibes. kings
A fine ‘little’ establishment. Elbow to elbow you can drink with regulars and irregular characters . If I been 100 times … I’ll go a 100 more (both likely an underestimate)
Old school dive, updated touch tune jukebox not withstandaing. Not a sausage fest, good mix of men and women of all different vibes. Actually feels like a dive in the sense of working class people hitting it up before or after work. Only cons are extremely tight space if it gets busy.
One of these cool little hole in the walls with great service and cold beers. I love it. Good people’s here.
I just watched someone from that store clean up the entire block. Garbage not only in front of the bar but on the street and in front of all the other stores as well. This city needs more people like this man . Great bar too
Incredible bar- great place to strike up a conversation with a stranger or come with a friend to hang out. I have been many many times and cannot recommend this place enough. Staff are the absolute best- always make me feel so welcome
Milano’s Bar feels like the last piece of old New York that refused to move out. It’s a narrow brick box on Houston, lights low, walls stained with decades of spilled beer and cigarette ghosts. You walk in and it’s quiet for a second, then the city hum catches up. The bartender barely looks up, but the pour is perfect. The place has been around since the late 1800s, back when Bowery meant trouble and a beer was breakfast. Sinatra probably leaned here once. So did a thousand nobodies who left their paychecks and stories on this same sticky wood. No cocktail lists or fancy names. Just cold beer, hard liquor, and the kind of talk that only happens when everyone’s had enough. The jukebox still works. The regulars still drink like it’s 1952. Come alone or with someone who gets it. Order a shot and a beer. Look around and let the weight of the room remind you that New York wasn’t always shiny. It used to be real.
The attentive bartender truly made my night. Although her name escapes me, she was incredibly watchful, looking out for me throughout the evening. As a visitor to NYC, I particularly appreciated her welcoming demeanor. She even made sure to safeguard my drinks whenever I stepped away, which was a thoughtful touch. Her exceptional service, especially as the sole person working, was genuinely commendable.
Absolutely love this place! The vibes are always on point — laid-back, fun, and full of good energy. Domenico is an amazing bartender: super friendly, welcoming, and his service is top-tier. You can tell he genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a good time. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great bar with a great culture. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Walked by and saw a flyer in the window for Monday afternoon jazz. Wasn't sure it was open as it was so dark inside compared to the bright sunshine inside and found it was. What a great little bar, friendly bar tender and an enjoyable set by a jazz duo. I'd certainly pay another visit next time in in NY
Came here a few nights ago for some soda with friends since I’m not a bar fly alcoholic like my aunt is. She can put down a whole 15 pack in about 2 hours. She was here unfortunately and totally killed the mood when I was hanging out with my frat boys. We were having a nice time talking about laundry and how we can improve the frat house laundry room when aunt barfly came up and started cackling super loudly because she was drunk. Thankfully the bartender kicked her out. Me and the frat boys continued discussing laundry room plans and came up with the idea of 2 milnor 275 pound washers and a 60 pound washer as well as 2 310 pound dryers and a 120 pound dryer. We have 50-80 guys at the house so we have a lot of washing. We had a nice time here and the food was really good as well. Burgers were cooked good and all the staff was super friendly here. We will most definitely be returning soon.
I understand why so many people enjoy this place, it’s genuine and budget-friendly. When I visited, it was quite busy, and finding a comfy spot was a bit tricky. The drinks were decent, and the service was okay, nothing extraordinary, but it’s still a place I’d consider visiting again.
Extremily rude bartender. We had one of our friend who came all the way from DC and she refused to serve us just because he was a little bit tipsy but so are we and she told us that she can serve everyone but him.
I would have rate 0 she was super rude to my friends and family. I would recommend closing your place if you can’t serve. Just go home and take a good sleep. I would love to pay whatever amount it is, just don’t disrespect my friend and family.
10 people at the bar at 8pm on a Saturday night and the bartender was “slammed”. Waited to order drinks for 15 minutes and when she finally came over she refused to make some shots for our group so we asked for something much easier, a lemon drop, and she said “wow, you’re really set on that aren’t you?”. WTH? Yeah, drinks are almost 20 bucks in this town and you weren’t even that slammed in a half-empty bar.
I went in for a guiness and the tall blonde bearded barkeep came to our party talking about you can’t come in here and not tip, we were literally gathering cash to tip him and he literally ruined his own chances of a getting a tip. Not to mention the pissy attitude when we ordered a drink.
