Wow, immediate 5 star review & this is for takeout. Everything arrived perfectly packaged in a cute bag (I’m a sucker for branding). But once I opened everything, I realized the portions were pretty big - definitely enough for me to save 1/2 of everything for lunch tomorrow. Now getting into the flavors. Wow. The Mapo Tofu was sooo yummy, as were the string beans. For my main I got the Chicken with Chili Paste spicy level & it did not disappoint. I highly recommend this place. Excited to try it in person next time.
Super authentic homey rice noodle bowls packed to the brim with delicious varieties of meats 🤤 there are spicy and non spicy options. My favorite is the braised pork and also the pork ribs and cuttlefish one!! Also def try the dumplings- crispy but juicy on the inside
Authentic Hunan dishes for under $20! Dishes we ordered: ♡ hunan fried tofu $7.99 🌟 ♡ beef & daikon dumplings $8.91 ♡ sour & spicy cucumber salad $7.99 ♡ pork & pepper dry noodle + egg $14.97 + $1.50🌟 ♡ spicy & sour fish noodle soup $16.99 🌟 ♡ artic ocean orange soda $3.77 🌟 ♡ hawthorn soda $3.99 🌟 🌟= favs Craving flavorful & spicy Hunan dishes for an affordable price? Check out @silkykitchennyc, a fast casual spot that’s perfect for a quick bite or take-out! The highlight of our meal were definitely the noodles. You MUST try their spicy & sour fish noodle soup. It was sour, yet spicy, and super addicting 😩 (I brought home the soup to make another meal for lunch). Their rice noodles also perfectly soaked up the pork & pepper sauce 🤤. Also don’t sleep on their Hunan tofu 😮💨. I understand why they have multiple locations throughout the city. If I lived nearby one, I would order their spicy & sour fish noodle soup at least once a week 😩. (P.S.) 🌶️ The spice level here definitely has that Hunan kick! We got the med level and it was decently spicy (which I looove).
One of my favorite quick Chinese “fast food” places. We got the beef over rice and hot and sour fish. Excellent and authentic flavor, great portions and well priced. The only thing I didn’t like was the white rice, it was too flaky and dry.
Amazing food! You can choose how spicy you want it to be. I chose “spicy” not “extra spicy” and it was making me sweat 🥵. I got the stir fried chicken with chili paste and soup noodles. Well lit, good background music, chill employees. The only thing that I wish was different is that the door lets in cold drafts from outside whenever it’s opened. Maybe they can put up a curtain or something.
Great casual lunch place to grab yummy Chinese food. I really enjoyed the string beans and cucumber and the noodle soups!! My fave noodle soup was the Beef Noodle one. You can also choose for most of the dishes to have it over rice or noodles. There’s a long table where you can sit and dine-in and they give you a number to pick up your food. Portions were also very good for the price as well as quality. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, I recommend coming here if you’re in the area!
I was particularly impressed by how the restaurant manages to balance their noodle dishes, generously incorporating both protein and vegetables in such a way that the carbs seem to vanish into the background. The portion sizes are notably satisfying, ensuring that you leave feeling well-fed. Their cold dishes stand out for their flavor, adding a delicious variety to the meal options. Additionally, the pricing is quite affordable, making it a great value for the quality received. A word of caution to those who love spicy food: I consider myself lucky for not attempting the ‘Hunan Spicy’ level. Despite being from Hunan, I opted for a lower spice level, which proved wise as even that had my friends experiencing a significant level of discomfort. So, to all the spice enthusiasts out there, proceed with caution! 🫡
Heaven is a place on earth. And it is this spot. Can make any dish soup noodle rice or dry. Rice noodles since Hunan. So damn good!!! I got s11 rice noodle soup add egg. So satisfying!
delicious beef noodles, cucumbers, and dumplings. food traveled well for delivery too
The pork and pepper soupy noodles and the chairman braised pork noodles were worth the price! The pork was well flavoured and the soup was seasoned well. The noodles were perfectly good. Once you receive the order which is very quick, I recommend that you let it sit for a couple of minutes and then start eating.
Wonderful spot to get your chinese food fix! You can never go wrong with cucumber salad, super fresh and garlicky. Also the sour fish fillet noodle soup had the perfect amount of sourness and chewy noodles.
Amazing food, amazing service. Super authentic Hunan cuisine and great spot for a quick fast-casual meal. If you’re looking for a spot with a good spice, this is the place!
Tbh ! Lovely ! My coworkers go here all the time and I finally caved in ! I got the pork belly today with rice. Luckily you can order this ti not be spicy 🙏🏾 (iykyk). Their spicy is really spicy ! I recommend 💯
They always provide the best customer service that makes you feel like a VIP, food is always authentic and hits the right spicy spot. If you look for a chill spot to enjoy a casual meal, you will leave feeling very satisfied! They also now offer smoothies to balance the spiciness with a really good deal. Must try!

Love this spot! A fast casual Chinese eatery that makes perfect to-go meals at a reasonable price. The stir fry pork was perfectly portioned and seasoned. Definitely will be adding this place into my lunch rotation.
I love spicy food and dang @silkykitchennyc was spicy even when I just got the medium! Started sweating just a few bites into it. The flavor of the soup and the seasoning, as well as the rice noodles were yummy. The fish fillet however were kind of thick and overcooked. They have a few locations in the city and it’s another good and quick option for an easy but yummy Asian meal. I would like it more if they can provide non-disposable dishes and utensils for dine in customers! 🥺
Clean and very modern looking interior. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup. Price was a bit high (but it’s downtown Brooklyn unfortunately) but was definitely good tasting. Meat was tender and flavoring was good.
The food had a nice spice to it. We were a little confused by the menu and didn't get a thorough explanation of the dish. We ended up getting noodles in soup but would have preferred our dish with rice. Loved the decor! And they had a clean restroom to use 🙂 a big plus when you’re walking around Brooklyn.
Order at the kiosk, water & utensils are self serve. There are very few vegetarian options. Highly recommend down grading on the spicy level because it’s very numbing and spicy 🌶️🥵

Clean place very pretty, but Im sensing the cuisine as simple, the meat was soft and tasty, the book choy I enjoyed, but the soup was maybe a little warmer than warm. Overall not good and not terrible, it’s lacking and ’a bit disappointing, especially for the price tag. $18. I feel like I got pasta in soup. Yikes sorry.

I ordered the cattle fish pork ribs soup to go and when i got home and open the food, there’s a hair on the noodles. I don’t understand how they not see it when they pack and cover the lid of the container and on top of that, there was no cattle fish at all. How you advertise or put in the menu a “cattle fish” but you put something else on the order instead? It was a chopped squids and pork ribs like 3-4 pieces of it. $23 goes to the garbage. What a waste! I feel like I got robbed.
