An unexpected surprise (those are the best) that we found for happy hour ahead of a dinner reservation in the area. Sea-themed place with lots of rum drinks. Plenty of other options as well. Really fun place. Will definitely re-visit soon. 😁

Had my partner’s birthday party in the back room and the staff was remarkably kind and helpful all the way through the process. The space is also really great. Good for around 50 people - and the minimum was totally achievable. Thanks for the great hosting!

I threw a joint birthday party for about 75 people in their back spaces, and it was fantastic. Management was incredibly friendly, personable, and flexible. The food and drinks were great. The ambiance was fun, stylish but unpretentious. They had two levels so that helped with flow. They use a curtain to divide the party space from their public space. We only used one side of the curtain, so there was some freedom to move about. Our waitress was incredibly helpful. People were also able to order from the bar and do separate checks. Management let me run a playlist as long as it was diverse and vibed with their place - it did! The manager was also able to give us a discount on the minimum for the party since it was a Sunday night. Hosting a birthday party in NYC can get expensive and obnoxious, but the Folly made us feel so welcome. It's a great spot for a chill night out drinking and certainly for hosting parties!

First time coming here and will be back since the vibes are amazing! I came here with my brother and friends, Lester the bartender was excellent in his service! The aesthetic of the place was super cool, and I love how live the place got after 11pm. If you’re looking for a good time, come here!

The Follys is such a great find!! chill atmosphere, great music, and a perfect mix of locals and visitors. The vibe is relaxed but lively, and the drinks are top-notch without the downtown pretentiousness. Special shoutout to Lester the bartender!!! he’s the kind of person who makes the whole experience better. Super attentive, friendly, and knows exactly how to make you feel welcome. Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or want to try something new, he’ll mix it up perfectly. You can tell he really cares about making everyone’s night great. If you’re around Houston St, definitely stop by Folly’s. Between the great drinks, the crowd, and Lester behind the bar, it’s easily one of the best spots in the area!!

Wow! This place is a gem!!! The drinks are wonderful! Highly recommend Fall in Love drink and Fish and Chips! The fish and chips is a light breading seasoned to perfection and the cod was clean and d refreshing. Probably one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. All the sauces were great. Tartar sauce was made fresh. Can’t recommend this place enough

Stopped in here for a birthday nightcap for my partner’s special day! We’ve had our eye on the unique nautical design for a while and were so glad we decided to stop in. We were warmly greeted by Justine behind the bar upon arrival, who proceeded to be an absolute gem and huge part of our evening. Such a personable, kind being! We were delighted by the hospitality displayed by both her and the manager, John. They also have a proper photobooth that develops the images old-school style, which is in excellent working condition and provided us with beautiful sweet prints to commemorate our evening. The painkiller was beyond delicious, as were the other cocktails we tried. Overall, we had a wonderful and memorable evening here and will certainly be coming back! Thank you to the team for your caring touches. :)

Attended a 2 hour event there last weekend for drinks with a number of us in the back room. The space was perfect for the group and the service was exceptional. Our group are cocktail "enthusiasts" and many found the various offerings overly sweet. The bar staff and servers are very accommodating and happy to "help"... but if you prefer more balance... bitter.. sour, etc... ask in advance.

The Folly is the perfect place to celebrate Halloween! The cozy, wood-paneled, ship-like vibe makes it an ideal spot for a fall happy hour in October or November. We came with a large group, and the service was excellent. We ordered the fries with aioli, arancini balls, peppers, and burgers — everything was fantastic. The drinks were also great and prepared quickly.

Was here for a friend's party. Staff was not the nicest. There was definitely no service with a smile. Coat check was not offered, forcing us to stow our heavy winter coats on sofas intended for people to sit on. Food was cold, mediocre, and stacked on cramped side tables. Few very common drinks were on the menu, and substitutions were not suggested. Tables were not cleared off in time for birthday cake. As the end of our time approached, security was extremely snappy with the guests. There are also only two single bathrooms for a three-story bar and event space. Would not recommend.

Unfortunately would not recommend for a party! We reached out and booked a birthday party for 35 people - and were promised either the downstairs or a private area upstairs. When we arrived, we found out the bar had double booked parties, and our group had nowhere to sit or even stand in the same area. They tried to clear out a handful of small tables for us, but it was a pretty disappointing solution given we were promised a separate area for our group. We had to last minute pivot and find a new bar to take our group, which is not easy on a Friday night in nyc! We saw other 1-star reviews about how this bar double books parties and believed the bar’s reasonable-sounding responses - but we should have listened to the low reviews. Would not recommend hosting a party here!

I was pretty disappointed with my experience at The Folly! We reached out to host a birthday party for about 35 people, with the expectation we would get the private room, or at least a proper area. On the contrary, it was absolutely PACKED, and when we got there, we learned that they had double (or perhaps) triple booked the private area, and there was nothing they could do. To the manager's credit, he attempted to clear out some of the people sitting in booths for us as some sort of remediation, but at that point, there really wasn't much that could be done. Really frustrating, especially because I think the ambiance of this bar is really nice and could have been a great pick.

I walked in this evening at 6 PM. The lovely hosts was so nice to usher me to the bar and when she saw that the area that I was sitting, I was dirty. She cleaned it up for me lovely girl however I sat down for five minutes and the bartender is on his freaking phone he’s on a phone call answering the phone when there’s only five customers at the bar and no tables and it’s happy hour ridiculous. I will never come here again. New york Kerby were do not come here.
