UH-MAZING FOOD. Came back after the last time I went in middle school, and the food quality is still just as good. The prices have remained incredibly affordable, staying true to the spirit of local Hong Kong–style breakfast restaurants. The food portion is great for the price- YOU WILL NOT FIND ANY OTHER PLACE WHERE THEY SELL A 12$ HEARTY BREAKFAST COMBO. The lamb chops with the mushroom sauce is delectable (this menu item was either removed or moved to the off-catalog secret menu BUT ORDER IT nonetheless). The congees- yea don’t even get me started. I COULD SCARF DOWN THREE PLAIN CONGEES because that’s how PERFECTLY seasoned they are, but of course you gotta get the classic egg century congee. I’m telling you one big congee serves 6 servings and me and my brother annihilated that ourselves. The regular portion serves 2 people. Oh yea, get the red bean shaved ice beverage ITS UH-MAZING just as I remembered. Service EXTREMELY efficient your American brunches could never. I was incredibly amazed by not just the consistency in food quality but service after a decade. In fact, the vibe, the restroom, and the whole setup were exactly as I remembered. Even the women’s restroom still had that same breezy, cold temperature I noticed back in middle school. This is a place I would usually gatekeep but I was so astonishingly surprised and satisfied I cannot stop raving about this place. Their curries with spaghetti noodles ARE FIYAH as well. LONG LIVE HONG KONG!!! They know what they’re doing cause all the customers were old aunties and gpas that’s how you know it’s good food and good prices:) oh yea and there’s free parking (in LA)

My favorite daily go to HK cafe style chain here in Greater LA area, three locations, this Alhambra branch has a storage parking for free, nice quality as always to all locations, original HK style iced milk tea is original, juicy crunchy spicy chicken wings. Tomato Spaghetti is very nice as always.

This is a traditional family style Chinese restaurant. We've been coming here for years especially during Lunar New Year celebration. Their food is so tasty. High quality ingredients and made fresh to order. Portions are large and shareable. We always end up taking leftovers home. I particularly love their yellow chicken curry and green shrimp curry. I've had their spaghetti too and it's also amazing. We like going after the lunch rush around 2pm or go in the evening after the dinner rush around 9pm because peak times are definitely busy.

Been going to this place for several years now. Pretty good choices from sandwiches to Asian food. Plenty of drink choices as well. The combo are good value meals. 😊 Great selection and New Year specials. You can have your typical Asian food (chow fun, ramen) and match it with pasta. They had lobster, filet mignon, scallop specials.

I enjoyed the food for what it was. It’s nothing crazy but if you like this type of food (HK style) than it serves its purpose at a good price. The portion sizes are generous and flavours meet the pallet of HK style cuisine

Big varieties on the menu. There is so much selection to choose from. Great food, good service. Just don't understand why they automatically charge 18% tips on the bill. That was the downfall. If you order steak or pork or chicken steak, it's a wait time. Other dishes are quick. They also have a kids menu.

We love this place!!!!! I have been here since my childhood and they never disappoint. Such a cozy atmosphere for family dining. Their menu selection is HUGE and there's always something that will fit the taste of everyone in your party. On top of that, the price is so affordable wow! I highly recommend any of the fried rice (pick your favorite one but mine is the Fu-chow fried rice 😋). Veggies, soup, and all the classic Canto/Chinese dishes yum!

I came to this place because of a friend's recommendation. I ordered the chicken steak with black pepper sauce. The chicken was tender, moist, and super delicious. It had a thin layer of crispy skin that went very well with the moist meat. I would definitely come back and have the meal again. And, did it mention the portion was huge and the milk tea was tasty as well.

11-27-21: Came here for lunch and ordered a bunch of noodles! Beef Chow fun was pretty good. Chinese pan fried chow mein was very tasty. Singapore noodles were also very good. Also ordered a few vegetable dishes that were cooked very well! Overall, the noodles are great. Traditional Cantonese style cooking. Would definitely come back again for more noodles!

They've got a good selection of milk teas and lemonades.

We went here last Sunday and saw that they had combos. Where when you buy a bowl, you get a free drink. It was a good deal. So we bought one noodles and one pork chop bowl. The Pork Chop Bowl rocks, they cut the bones out. But the noodles were cold, I did not like it at all. thats why its a 4 star not 5 stars.

We got two,bob teas and fries. Both were good but they were skimpy on the fries

Came for a late dinner and the cafe was pretty empty. The dinner/all-day specials are really good! One of us got a grilled steak and chicken wings for $16, and the whole roasted chicken with tomato basil rice was $11.88. You can't beat the price on this, especially since everything tastes great too. We also got a seafood ramen, the dinner set A, and a hk French toast. Everything just hits the spot.

The restaurant was great, I went at 8:30pm in the evening and the atmosphere was great. Customers service was excellent, food came quick and tasted great, the lady at front made sure everyone was doing good. I ordered the N.Y. Steak and it was amazing, perfectly cooked to medium rare and their side of tomato soup was delicious. Price was worth it and highly recommend Garden Cafe. Definitely coming back!!

What better way than to have classic hong kong style meals at anytime you want. Garden cafe is the place where ppl of all generations like to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or a late night meal. They have a vast menu for anytime of day and if you need your hong Kong style milk tea or coffee plug this is the place. Parking garage is in the back for 2 hr parking otherwise street parking is available (if u can find it) Just beware of your classic rude servers or waiters (thats just the culture lol)

I could drink their HK milk tea all day...Continuing my desultory review of all the restaurants on Valley Boulevard ( i should live so long) i stopped off here for breakfast while getting my brakes done at Tommy's. I loved the menu -- one of the things I love most about LA is having so many interesting options. This is a Cantonese café, i think, with many specialties that i wouldn't consider typical breakfast food -- similar to the giraffe cafe in Berlin, i say for cover. I got the omelet, hash brown and pineapple roll . Omelet was done with machine like precision, hash brown was just like McDonald's (maybe less crisp) and pineapple roll was tasty, the slab of butter inside was so think at first I mistook for a slab of white cheddar. I turned the sweet butter into a schmear and enjoyed it early. Along with the milk tea. The service was outstanding and friendly, i was only haole, and I'm building up my confidence to have the pork shoulder and crab congee the next time I'm here

Related Hong Kong Cafe type place. Like 300 different dishes to choose from. The pasta with shrimp and Scallop was delicious, especially if you don't like cheese. It is creamy with lots of umami and the Scallop cooked well...shrimp Marinated. Mmmm. The pork belly dish was delicious but super duper fatty. The veggies underneath (cabbage and pickled mustard greens) soaked up all the goodness but it was really fatty. The prices are a little higher now ~$17 for each of these dishes but I still really enjoyed it. The pacing of the food being brought out is weird though. We finished the pasta before the pork got brought out.

Pandemic visit: (menus depicted are from June) Indoor dining available; seating is *mostly* separated, some tables weren't separated enough in my opinion. Dinner was busy but not overly crowded; I didn't have to wait to get a table. Service was decent (only 1 waiter). The food is consistently good. They are sometimes able to make custom dishes that aren't on the menu for me. 3 adults, the bill somehow came out to over $100 for 3 main dishes and 2 drinks. I wish I knew what expensive dishes the other 2 people had but mine was low priced by menu standards. Depicted is the Thai basil chicken with rice and egg.

Came here late Saturday night, early Sunday morning; we were a group of 7. No wait for a table and parking can be found in the lot next to it. Parking is free. Service was good. We had the fried rice, porridge, Chinese doughnuts, beef filet in Chinese sauce, and wonton noodle soup with beef. Chinese doughnuts were great, especially after a night of drinking. Fried rice and beef steak were good too. Didn't have the porridge or wonton noodle soup but it looked good.

Everything tasted decent and the price was good. Each dish was large; just slightly too big for an individual to finish, so it might be better to order a few dishes for a party and share. Only a couple minor complaints: we rarely got refills on the drinks, and one of our dishes was forgotten (to be fair, we had a party of 10). Other than that, it's a good place for large parties or families to dine.

Good place to go once so you can taste the original. Everyone who works here is super nice and amazing. The tapioca or boba is very fresh and has a nice chew to it. The milk tea is VERY milky and sweat so be prepares for that.

My go to for dumplings but business hour need to be updated.

It’s really a nightmare this time! 1) I got the number waiting for a table, yet there’s an old lady grabbed a table w/o a number b4 me! So I had to wait for another 20-min on top of my 30-min waiting!😣 I brought this issue to the manager since he witnessed the senecio, and he’s kinda embarrassed but couldn’t do anything about it! 2) There’s no service after I’ve been seated, as I had to ask a waitress to come taking my order. After a long wait, my food was slowly served one item each every time till I asking for my check, and I still don’t get the bun w/my meal. I had to pack it to go. No apology no nothing for my entire experience. Service is never good enough to maintain an average standard, but this time is really horrible!🤨

I ordered 1 drink and 3 snacks but I got my order after 3 guys who ordered 1 meal and drink for each person. What went wrong? You should finished my order first, not only I ordered first, but my orders were snacks, not the full meal.

Zero stars if possible, these people just want your money.. Such a rude and unpleasant staff

The food is standard hk cafe food but the service is extremely below quality. We simply ordered two breakfast sets and it took 30min to come out with first set. We finished the entire breakfast set and our second item we ordered did not even come. We noticed they do not have an organized service system. Food is sitting at the service counter and nobody brings it in.
