I planned an event celebrating my Wifey birthday at The Yard Haledon NJ. 5 Star Experience. Thank you Sara, Trevor and Team for a party we will remember for many years to come. We had a private setting in the lovely outside Garden, fully heated and covered. The food was the best ever. The personal service with a great energy and vibe echoed the sentiments of Sara and Trevor. I cannot praise this dining Experience enough. Go , relax , eat well at The Yard. My husband, 14 month old son and I just had a lovely lunch at The Yard! We were greeted by Barbie, our waitress. She was so kind and has a popping personality that makes you smile right away! She was great! The owner also was so kind and friendly, came over and introduced himself! The food was delicious and the atmosphere where we sat outside was so beautiful! We loved it and will be back! A great space to host a celebration!

Okay, so for one, I’m from NC and not used to no southern hospitality. Barbie at the bar was absolutely welcoming and friendly and the food was on point. I didn’t get to meet the guys who cooked our burgers, but bravo gentlemen. Delicious. If/when we come back up this way, I’ll make sure to stop in here for a drink and a bite.

A great local neighborhood restaurant. Never had a bad meal, never had a bad server. I always sit outside on the patio. If you've never been, you will be surprised at how nice and cozy it feels. I also go on the earlier side of dinner because it can take longer to get food later. But, if you want to make a night of it and enjoy the drinks, you'll enjoy it anytime. An excellent date night place.

I came to this restaurant right after homecoming. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and sat at the bar. Janine was my bartender tender and she was great. I had: garlic shrimp fra diavolo mussels Angry shrimp tacos Old bay fries Lava cakes All the food was actually really good. My favorite dish was the garlic shrimp and the old bay fries. I also had the red sangria which I loved. All in all it was a good experience!

Excellent local spot. The burger is king here, had a steak that was not the best cut although cooked to order. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, definitely a place to cover back to.

The outdoor atmosphere is the biggest draw for me. The service is very good and enjoyable as well. There was a large group when we were there last so that slowed the service. The brisket sandwich is pretty good but the steak bowl was somewhat ordinary.

Everything came out hot and fresh, and you can tell they care about quality even with casual dishes. The service was great—attentive without being overbearing, and the staff made us feel right at home. The vibe is just what you’d want in a neighborhood bar and grill: comfortable, chill, and welcoming whether you’re out with friends or grabbing a bite solo. They’ve got a good drink selection too, and the prices are more than fair. Definitely a go-to spot when you’re craving classic American comfort food and a relaxed environment. The Yard gets it right!

"outdoor" dine-in setup was really great, nice & toasty, warm with these big torches all around. the staff are top-notch, but as for the bar area & the food, im not sure i'd come back for a casual visit? it was just average. everyone else was happy with the place, but they were also pretty drunk lol

My wife and I and our 2 year old daughter dined at The Yard. We sat by the table closest to the Door. I want to start off by saying the food was excellent and our server was Great! We closed out around 7:40pm. Our waitress asked to close us out with the machine. She said the total was around 74$. I thought in my head that was high but I was busy with my daughter. My wife told her we would leave a cash tip. She did not say anything. I left $16 cash. Over 20%. Driving away we both said something doesn't add up. That bill is way too high. I asked where the receipt was and my husband said he was never offered one the lady scanned his card and walked away. We got A haledon burger 15$ Swiss burger 15.50$ Fried Pickles $12 1 coke 2 miller lights. No way that is 74$ unless the gratuity is already on the bill!! It left a very bad impression on us. We can't afford to leave a double tip and we should have been told that Gratuity was already on the bill. I mean it seems alittle sneaky that it was never disclosed to us. We never even were offered a bill to view. In the end we paid over $90(with 2 tips) for 2 burgers!! We live in North Haledon, just moved here last year, so excited to find a great local spot but Wow not feeling great about this.

Always had a decent time at this place and the price seemed reasonable until most recently. My companion had two beers, I had three drinks, mind you not cocktails, but Amaretta and club on the rocks. Imagine my surprise, when I got the bill and it was $66! I couldn't see the receipt thoroughly because it was very dark in there. We did not order any food, we were at the bar area, it was karaoke night. And dead in there. I did review the bill when I went home, and I saw that they added a gratuity to it... $11! I had already left a cash tip that night. I just kept thinking I will never go back there again, that I was ripped off. I did call rhe following day, and said that I had gone there many times before and never charged gratuity, whoever answered the phone said that they do charge a gratuity. I thought that was just for larger groups and people that order food. She told me that one of the managers would call me back, well no one did! Needless to say, I will not be returning.
