⸻ If there was a 6-star option, Steve and Jo would own it. From the moment we arrived, they treated us less like guests and more like long-lost cousins they were secretly thrilled had finally turned up. The food? Honestly, I considered asking them to adopt me just so I could eat like that forever. The pool? So good I started wondering if I could subtly change my postal address to their house and never leave. But the crown jewel was the music room. Calling it “out of this world” doesn’t even do it justice—it’s the sort of place where you lose track of time, reality, and probably a few dance moves. By the end of the stay, I wasn’t just relaxed, I was actively plotting how to move in permanently. Steve and Jo, beware—I may turn up again with a suitcase and a legally questionable tenancy agreement. In short: lovely people, incredible food, poolside perfection, and a music room that could easily cause intergalactic envy. Go once, and you’ll want to live there too.

If there were 6 ☆☆☆☆☆☆ I'd select it. What a fabulous find! Steve and Jo go above and beyond for their guests. A vegan menu and deserts was designed for me and it was all delicious and very reasonably priced. It feels like a home from home. The rooms go out to the pool area where there's a self service bar with hot and cold drinks, frozen glasses and ice....everything you need...down to Tetley teabags. The pool is a great size, with the iconic Rolling Stones lips in tiles at the bottom. Great choice of breakfast and additional charge for cooked breakfasts that were also superb. The beds were big and comfortable, rooms have air-conditioning and very modern shower rooms. Just so very special. We'll definitely be back 🥰

I had my 60th birthday party at this amazing place. Josie and Steve are the most attentive hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing, wonderful well stocked bar. Thoroughly recommended for anyone else with a special celebration. We stayed overnight in the Jim Morrison room. Wonderful comfortable beds with everything you could wish for there. My husband had the big breakfast in the morning, kept him going all day!

We love this wonderful place, Jo & Steve are very friendly, the saltwater pool & jacuzzi are amazing, the honesty bar is fantastic and the breakfasts are fabulous. We would recommend for every kind of traveller or house hunters 🩵 and they do one night stays too!

My husband and I have just returned from a week staying at Cortijo La Cueva and what can we say other than amazing, felt like a home away from home. We received such a warm and friendly greeting from Steve and Jo who could not do enough for us. We were exploring the area for a property as we are intending to move there permanently. Their knowledge and advice was invaluable and has really helped us, we are so grateful to them. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so good and we didn't get the opportunity to enjoy their beautiful pool and pool area but we will definitely be back again. We met as strangers but felt we left as friends and can't wait to see them again soon. David and Christine Xx

What a treat and joy it was to stay as guests with Steve and Jo. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are spotless and so well designed and decorated. The well stocked outside bar, with a freezer full of ice cold glasses. A reading area with books, an amazing music room, a wonderful pool.... cats 😍 homecooked food.. the list of what Cortijo La Cueva has to offer is endless. A truly wonderful, relaxing experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed with Jo and Steve for 3 nights whilst house hunting, there are lovely people and we felt at home instantly. The place is beautiful, we stayed in the Janis Joplin room and it was so lovely inside. The pool area, bar and roof terrace are stunning! We loved the honesty bar, made you feel very relaxed. Jo and Steve were on hand if we needed anything. We sampled some home cooked food on 2 evenings and it was fantastic and very reasonably priced. We were off early most mornings so sadly didn't get to sample the breakfast menu but we were able to grab a croissant and some fruit to take with us. Jo and Steve were kind enough to take us to a local restaurant one of the evenings for my birthday which was so kind of them. We cannot recommend this place more, we would love to stay again and Jo and Steve are absolute diamonds and We wish them every success with the business, not that they need it, try it and you will see for yourselves!

Had a fabulous two day stay at this gorgeous, music themed accommodation. The attention to detail is amazing, and the music room is obviously years of total dedication to Jo and Steve's love of rock music. The views are stunning, and it's the perfect place to unwind and relax. Highly recommend this beautiful place.

We verbleven enkele zeer aangename dagen in Cortijo La Cueva. Steve and Jo zijn geweldige gastheren. Het ontbijt is zeer uitgebreid met granen, marmelade, fruitsap, koffie, thee, charcuterie en kaas en noem maar op. We hebben ook twee keer genoten van de kookkunsten van Steve. We waren er in februari dus over de zone rond het zwembad en het zwembad zelf kunnen we enkel zeggen dat het groot is en zeer gezellig. In de zomer moet het daar fantastisch vertoeven zijn. De muziekliefhebber vindt er een echte speeltuin want Steve stelt een deel van zijn platencollectie beschikbaar ter beluistering. De kamer was zeer proper en ruim. Geen moeite is teveel voor Steve en Jo om je verblijf zo aangenaam mogelijk te maken. Een absolute aanrader.

First time having Afternoon tea and OMG it was amazingly tasty, plentiful and with the most wonderful hosts. Everything home made. Amazing. Thank you for the experience.

First time here. Absolutely cannot fault this place , it’s a hidden gem where you feel you can relax, be yourself, enjoy the pool and bar , beautiful gardens,right by your rooms . The hosts Steve and Jo can’t do enough for you and are amazing people, The breakfasts are perfect and food ordered for lunch has been lush . It’s out of the way hence the hidden gem however if you hired a car you could visit the local beaches but why would you ? You don’t need to go anywhere . For the music junkies out there you will be gobsmacked with the music room ! The 27 club will blow your mind, you can also listen to Steve now on Sunday evening as he does an hour spot on Almeria radio. I could go on and on and on but just try it yourselves I guarantee you will love it !

What a fabulous place, Steve & Jo couldn’t do enough for you. As hosts they are perfect, so welcoming and friendly creating a lovely atmosphere. We were in the Jim Morrison room straight out the door and into the pool, heaven. If you like music you must visit Steve’s music room, now that is a sight to see. Absolutely wonderful! From beginning to end. Jo and Steve are born hosts and know how to cook! From the very first phone call to make the reservation to the massive hug on our way out- absolutely exceptional! On a very hard work road trip I don't think we could have made a better decision than to take a break in this wonderfully peaceful villa(be warned- you may stay in bed until 1pm) whilst looking at the mountains listening to frogs and other wildlife . Utter bliss with an impeccable service from the owners on top! Splendid!

It was Saturday night 16.00 hrs and we had just been let down by a local Spanish hostel, so we popped up to Cortijo la Cueva to see if they could help. Well we met Jo and she was just fantastic saying ,If you could give her 15 min she would get a room ready for us, Steve then took us to the bar and sorted out a cold drink for us both. The room was fantastic, we got to shower and get ready for our party starting at 18.00. If all that was not enough Jo then drove us to our venue and picked us up latter that night, Thank you so much Steve & Jo You have a fantastic B&B and we now have some new friends. Richard and Lisa.

We were the first guests staying at this lovely accommodation that Steve and Josie have transformed into this amazing property in Arboleas . The bedrooms and all the property with it's lovely decor were outstanding not to mention the 'music room ' which Steve had made his mark on his love for music ! Juke box and memorabilia with every type of good old LPs , singles you could think of absolutely filled this special room with pride n passion which is certainly not to be missed while staying here . The pool and bar area need to be enjoyed and one will not disappoint . Will definitely return to this wonderful B n B with these great couple who could not do enough for their guests . We stayed in the Jim Morrison suite for 2 nights 2 weeks ago while house hunting in the area. Jo and Steve are a lovely couple and amazing hosts. The cortijo and its facilities are amazing. It’s a shame we couldn’t have stayed longer and enjoyed the music room, the bar and pool more. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in the Albox or Arboleas area I would definitely recommend you stay with Jo and Steve. We will definitely stay there again when we are next in the area.

We stayed at the Rock ‘n’ Roll B&B in October. We had the Hendrix Suite. Wow! Before I get to how amazing our suite was let me tell you about this place as a whole and believe me there's a whole lot to tell! The pool is amazing! However big you think it looks in the pictures... it's bigger. The Rolling Stones "lips" logo is the focal point: eat your heart out Mick Jagger! Next to the pool is the bar which is perfectly situated to grab a cold beer or an Aperol Spritz which you can enjoy either sat at the bar or whilst relaxing on one of the perfectly placed sun loungers around the pool. There is the self-catering kitchen right behind the bar so you can make yourself a sandwich or a light bite. Walk down through the little fruit orchard at the side of the house to the patio at the front of the house and enjoy the stunning views over the valley to the small village of Arboleas. This is within easy walking distance and there is a bank, a tabac, a small gift shop and a few well-appointed bars. They also have markets 2 days a week so you can pick up some new sunglasses or some trinkets to take home. On a Saturday be sure to check out the rotisserie chicken stall, the chicken and roasted potatoes are perfect hot or cold! Back at the house there's a stunning breakfast room with a full length balcony that looks out over the valley. Nowhere better to enjoy your morning coffee and a delicious homemade breakfast. There's a vintage juke box too where you can select your favourite tracks to get you in the mood for a rock ‘n’ roll B&B type of day. The Hendrix Suite surpassed all our expectations. You have your own private terrace for a start! You have a large wardrobe and a beautiful bathroom at the far end. Your lounge has a large comfortable sofa, there's a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. The bedroom is the a dream, a four poster bed decorated with sheer drapes, fairy lights and cushions in every colour of the rainbow. The room is so peaceful, in the morning the sunrise will gently wake you, unless you fancy a lay in, in which case just close the wooden shutters. I have never slept better than in this room! Everything is beautifully decorated and the attention to detail is second to none. The sheets are crisp and clean, there are cosy blankets if needed and the bathroom towels are fluffy and seem to smell of the sunshine! The music room is a sight to behold! It's like a 70s/ 80s record shop where you can browse the thousands of records and play them at your leisure. The detail from the ceiling tiles and the carpet down to the way the records are displayed and the framed pictures on the wall is spot on. You really are transported back to the golden age of buying records in your youth - the only thing missing is the till! You have to see this place to believe it, again like the pool however big you imagine the music room to be....its bigger! Its also soundproofed so you really can turn that volume up to 11! The cats! For me the cats are the icing on the cake well maybe the marzipan because Jo and Steve are the icing! They won't bother you but tip them the nod and they will happily trot over to you for some love and playtime. Jo & Steve, this couple will make your holiday. They are a welcoming, friendly, very funny couple from Sheffield. Steve is like a walking music encyclopedia. What he doesn't know isn't worth knowing! Josie is the artistic one, most of what you see here was either created or procured by her. We spent many an hour chatting with them and can honestly say that they really did make us feel at home from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Will we be back again? You try to keep us away! This place will be in our holiday calendar for many years. It's just perfect, and then some!

What can I say. Only it is a fantastic place. Steve & Josie are the perfect hosts. The accommodation is superb. The atmosphere of the area is delightful and the views magnificent. I spent 5 wonderful days with Steve and Jo in their beautiful guest and home. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very helpful with knowledge for my search for a property in the area. After being out viewing all day I came home to some lovely home good meals. If you are searching for a place in the sun I couldn't recommended Cortijo La Cueva enough. Curtesy of my sister and friends I experienced a 2 night stay at this oh so wonderful B&B, from time of arrival until our stay was over we were welcomed and treated like royalty by Steve and Jo who run this beautiful place, first class service and attention to detail throughout our stay, both go above and beyond to accommodate their guests, the rooms are musically themed and pristine, there is a music room full of goodies to explore which is an eye opener for anyone, their hospitality is second to none and nothing is too much for either of them, an amazing stay at a fabulous place and a made to feel comfortable and at home atmosphere, one of my best experiences personally over the last 2 years of visiting Spain and would do it all again in a heartbeat, amazing facilities in a great location, big thank you for your hospitality during our stay, and would 100% recommend for sure ❤️

What beautiful and highly original accommodation!! Steve and Jo have created an otherworldly, music themed B&B, that not only oozes soul, but delivers on every level. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Jo, a lovely lady who made us feel immediately at home. And then along came Steve, sporting a real rock and roll vibe!! Their warmth and kindness continued throughout our 3 nights stay! These Ex pats from Sheffield have turned this secluded property into something rather special. It boasts 3 music themed double rooms, a dining area and Steve s music room, clearly showcasing a lifetimes dedication to music! Outside is a well kept pool, a fully stocked ‘help yourself’ bar, with an honesty box policy, an array of loungers and amazing views aplenty!! Oh, and for cat lovers, there are a number of cats that casually frequent the property, roaming freely about the place, only serving to mirror the already, unbuttoned and chilled energy that is the very essence of this ‘one of a kind’ destination. Steve and Jo s service was next level. We chose what to eat from their comprehensive menu, where to eat and when to eat, within reason. They catered for dietary specifics, such as veganism. Nothing was too much for Steve and Jo. And the food was delicious. All in all an awesome experience, made particularly enjoyable and memorable by these two beautiful souls from South Yorkshire.

Having just spent two amazing weeks here! We cannot fault it any way...we have met the lovely owners, who are now friends. Steve and Jo are brilliant hosts in this fabulous oasis of rock....you can do nothing all day and sit by the pool, or you can go out and about. The breakfast room with the juke box is awesome.....but wait till you get to the music room!!! This is the most incredible place I have ever been in my life.....Steve has so many vinyl records, cds, cassettes and memorabilia around. I worked in a record shop in Edinburgh, many years ago. Steve's music room replicated my first Saturday job!! Everything about this place is fabulous....we are booked to return .❤️❤️xx
