Always a great experience! My husband and I love coming here for the drinks and food (the smash burger is amazing) but we especially come for the service! Blaithin & Brittany are the best
Blaithin is the best! Will make sure you feel taken care of. Had a lovely brunch here on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon - enjoyed the laid back vibe and great food and drinks.
Halsey’s is THE PLACE TO GO on a Saturday night. Evan made sure we were fed, had drinks, and was great conversation 100/100 would recommend. Brunch is great too!! Always ask for Evan!!
Love the vibe and atmosphere. Darrow is my favorite bartender he has a gentle Tim Burton character type vibe who serves a mean pumpkin spiced espresso martini
Halsey’s is a great place to come get some food and drinks. The hot honey chicken sandwich and sangria is really is good. Shoutout to our server Evan who was really nice.
One of my favorite bars in all of Astoria! Evan is the best bartender and makes the best margaritas. If you’re in the mood for beer, they have a great selection on draft. Also the fries are delish. I always recommend this spot.
Thank you Natasha for going above and beyond for our girls brunch!! An icon a legend! Will be back for sure!!
Love this place! Came on Thursday to see my favorite server Evan who always brings our food and drinks so fast despite how packed it is on trivia night! Trivia Thursday starts at 7pm and it’s so fun but definitely challenging! Make sure to get here early (it’s always packed for trivia!) and bring a large group so there’s multiple brains working together!!!
loved the happy hour deals!! the bartender was super nice too :) great chill vibes, would recommend
Absolutely, love this place! It's a great local bar with good food and friendly bartenders, especially Evan & Sara! My fiance and I come for trivia Thursdays on the regular and it's always fun. Definitely recommend!
Im new to the area so I have been checking out some spots and really enjoyed the atmosphere here. I felt really welcome and Evan gave amazing service at the bar. Will definitely be coming back to check out more of the menu and cocktails!
Always a great time at Halley’s! Great food and drinks and if you go on Tuesday, you’ll have a blast at music bingo! Darrow, our waiter, was so sweet and helpful! Will definitely be back!
Halsey's is one of my go to spots (especially for brunch) in the area. Our server Brittany was a charming delight and made sure that the drinks were flowing. Blaithin, who has also been my server before also never disappoints so no matter who's taking care of you, you are set. Trivia and bingo are also worth attending if you are looking for a weeknight activity with your friends.
We had a great time with my friends. The food was on spot and the cocktails were great! Darrow and Sara were amazing! They followed up often and delivered on time. Will be back again and again.
Despite recent unnecessary and hurtful reviews to the establishment, for the sake of educated unbiased decision making, maybe read this review also! I am an Astoria local of 11 years, I recently moved around the corner from Halsey’s. I refer to it as the office. When I walk in here and see Blaithin, Brittany, and Sara I forget about the outside world and always have a great time, genuine service, great conversations and suggestions, you get a sense of friendship and they are humble and welcoming. It’s an environment where you feel like they are as happy to see you as you them. They are accommodating whether it be if you want to watch a certain sport, have specific food or drink requests, and it’s got something fun and entertaining almost every night of the week that brings locals together for an all inclusive and engaging experience. I’d absolutely recommend it for any occasion whether it be karaoke, trivia, music bingo, get some work done outside of the walls of your home, even just have a cozy quite glass of wine and decompress. If you are looking for a local experience and make some good friends definitely stroll in here, you won’t be disappointed! Cheers, “There’s no place like Astoria.”
Came for trivia night, had a blast. Returned for a quick bite and a drink … 10/10. Amazing. Sooooo gooood. I ordered a mocktail and it was amazing. Service was great too! Carey was bartending and taking care of tables, still killed it. Seriously, 10/10.
The best neighborhood bar! Halsey's is our favorite weekend brunch spot. Blaithin & Brittany are so sweet and helpful and always make sure you have everything that you need!
This place is absolutely amazing! The service and food are amazing! Also have to give a special shout out to Blaithin who always remembers my drink and food order! Highly recommend you put this spot into your weekly rotation for food/drink spots.
Halsey's is such an underrated treasure in Astoria. Great place for a low key hang out, drinks and food. I highly recommend the truffle fries and truffle devilled eggs! They also have amazing Korean-inspired wings and mac-and-cheese balls. Drinks were all around delicious, I had the Casino which was phenomenal. Shout out to Mario who made our experience extra great!
Had a great time at Lily’s brunch today! Food was good always and service was amazing!! Shout out to Caesar, great service my man.
A group of us came for trivia night on Thursday and had so much fun! Evan was the best and took great care of us. Recommend the truffle fries and red sangria which was sweet!
Love this spot. We go to Halsey’s and Mom’s all the time for brunch/drinks after work. Great happy hour (drinks + food). Evan makes the best Paloma’s! Big shout out to Evan!
Amazing food! Such a great brunch selection and our server Blaithin was FANTASTIC. Super funny and made the entire experience so much better. This will be my go to brunch spot on Sundays!
Love this place for any time of day! Evan is the best bartender, he makes the best margaritas. Food is delicious and unique and both Halsey’s and its sister restaurant Mom’s! This place is an Astoria must-try!
Stoped by just to watch the Euro Cup. The cocktails I had were both great. The watermelon and bourbon combination was a lil sweet but highly refreshing and the mezcal seniorita drink was delicious and citrusy. Their chicken and waffles smack and have fantastic gravy. Also the chicken bowl was a good healthy option I had to share with my wife’s C&W. Service was highly attentive and I highly recommend for food, ambience, sports and company. Will be returning.
Love this place, been coming here for years. The food, drinks, and staff Evan and Sarah.are great. It's a good sports bar plus the events like trivia night and pumpkin painting are my favorites.
We came for Tuesday night trivia and it was a blast! Evan took great care of us. Drinks and food were so yummy and happy hour is a great deal!
The ambience is amazing. Andrew is super friendly, attentive, and really knew how to make a great drink. I will definitely be back !!
Absolutely a beautiful time! Blathin was a terrific server and made sure we were taken care of. Brittney, the amazing bartender, saw me waiting outside with my dog Loki and personally came outside to find us a table and get Loki water. Highly recommend. Will come again!! Pet friendly!!!!
Came to Halsey’s for trivia on Thursday, had an amazing time! Ordered the smash burger with fries & it was delish! Their drinks are awesome too! Evan was so wonderful and helped us feel less bad about coming in last place in trivia!!🤣
I don't ever leave any reviews, but I had to this time.. I've been almost everywhere in Astoria and Halsey's is now one of my favorite places. Sara the bartender is awesome! She made me the best strawberry martini ever. I also got a chance to meet Darro the new bartender, and he was just as great. Thanks guys!
My boyfriend and I love coming here for brunch! The food ambiance and service is on point. Order the steak and eggs and truffle deviled eggs and you won’t be disappointed. And last but not least, don’t forget to ask for Blaithin for your bartender/server! She’s always awesome and will definitely make sure your experience is seamless :)
Kerry and Sarah are my favorites, but to be honest, the entire staff is stellar. I live close by and I come in regularly. Regardless of the time of day or day of the week, I’m greeted with warmth and presented with amazing cocktails. The chicken avocado bowl is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any menu item. I think the mac and cheese is amazing too, but they know that because it’s listed on the menu twice. 😜 (Bottomless brunch is a best kept secret of Astoria… shhhhhh)
Lily’s is a great spot for amazing drinks! Their all-day happy hour deals are unbeatable, and the staff is super friendly. Natasha was especially helpful and made some seriously delicious drinks
Super nice bartender (I think his name was Andrew)!! The ambience was so cute! perfect for a girls night to catch up or a convo-filled date night. Great music and drinks, definitely coming back!!!
I wrote a review for Mom's Kitchen, but it was basically for Halsey's, since both times we ended up being seated here. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The Pancake Burrito and grits seem to be my go-to. I'll try something different next time. Maybe. The place is a little small, but it's not uncomfortable. I highly recommend eating here.
First time getting brunch at lilys. Natasha was amazing! definitely need to come here again!
Natasha is great! Very knowledgeable about tequila and makes an excellent coquito.
Came on a Friday night for HH. Food was good, came out quickly..tried a bunch of small bites to share. Nothing was overly greasy which was a plus. Natasha was bartending and she made a delicious mezcal cocktail and was extremely attentive and quick, despite being the only person on staff it seemed. Will come back!
Had a great time tonight at Halsey’s! The food was delightful, I had the smash burger w/ fries and it exceed expectations. Our waiter Evan was a sweetheart & super attentive. Coupled with a great happy hour deal I’m not really sure how you can beat it.
Tristen gave us such awesome service, funniest guy, so charming, really gets the people going!
Had a wonderful late night hang here. The staff was amazing they were so nice and made us feel very welcome. Evan was our server and it handled all the tables like a boss. Will definitely be back for some tasty bites and drinks. The happy hour best in Astoria
Wonderful neighborhood spot for brunch OR dinner! Great burgers and cocktails. Our waiter Evan was very attentive, especially to my dietary restrictions, and contributed so much to the friendly, casual atmosphere. Definitely visit this restaurant at any time of day if you are in Astoria! It’s a staple!
Had such a great time with my friends and Tristan/ Natasha as our servers! The drinks and apps were sooo good and we had so much fun :)
Loved it since it was Halseys. Went for brunch. Our Irish server (blahine?) was the best. Funny and attentive. Will come again!
Great vibes with a wonderful choice of cocktails! Natasha (our bartender) was very helpful with drink recommendations.
Beautiful space with fantastic seasonal cocktails! Our bartender Natasha was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave wonderful recommendations :~)
First time here, my mom, sisters and I, a thousand percent recommend this amazing place!! Natasha was nothing less than phenomenal! Thank you Natasha for give us such a great experience 🔥🫶🏼
Great service and conversation with Tristen. Will be back again. Wants to make sure his customers have a good time. Get das boots!
Tristen was such an amazing bartender! Very attentive and very conversational! Kept the bar with full glasses and full belly laughs!
Really fun spot! Great happy hour deals (the $8 HH cocktails look small but are VERY strong!) and standard bar food. They host many different events throughout the week. I came for the Tuesday Mixtape Bingo which is so much fun. Everyone is singing tunes and keeps people really engaged in the game.
Such a good vibe!!!!! We came for Sunday happy hour, and Sean was the best bartender we've had in a very long time; mixing the best martinis, while also making us feel comfortable and safe. We'll definitely be coming back again!
Love this place - love this location. I don’t come here because of what the place is called / I love this place because of the staff and the people who work here. For example ; Sean! Great bar tender / social and friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. I come here because of Sean and employees like him! Food is good - vibes are even better! 100% recommend this place for anybody looking for a nice intimate setting with good people, good prices and good drinks.
Great and fast service. Food tastes great and had a nice presentation, even down to lemons I requested for my tea. The drinks were great & lots of good options, especially non-alcoholic drinks. They just didn't have certain food choices, but we went in the middle of the week on a Wednesday. I'm not sure if that matters!
Natasha was great. She was so helpful and friendly. Definitely will be coming back.
I genuinely can’t say enough good things about Tristan. He is sooooo good at what he does. From the second you walk up to the bar, he makes you feel welcome. He’s not just making drinks, he’s creating AN EXPERIENCE. He listens, he remembers what you like, and somehow every single drink comes out perfect.
Easily my favorite casual spot in the area. Food is always great, especially the wings and burgers! Drinks and vibes are always on point too. We love it more every time we come back
Came here about two weeks ago for a girls brunch day/night out. The place is so cute and cozy and the food taste and portions are definitely worth the price. The drink menu looked super fun, we weren't able to try most of them as we did the bottomless option for mimosas but it gives a reason to come back!
Absolutely amazing experience!! Natasha is the most humble, honest and respectful waitress i have ever had. I suggest to come when she is here😉the food is absolutely amazing as well no complaints whatsoever. The drinks are top tier and i enjoyed every single one, i recommend the red sangria amazing!!!!!
First time at Lily’s for Sunday brunch and had a great time with our server Natasha! She was great and made our experience so fun. will definitely be back.
From the moment I walked in, Natasha made the entire experience feel special. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was perfect. Her energy is amazing friendly, professional, and so easy to talk to. She explained everything clearly, checked in at all the right moments, and made me feel completely comfortable the whole time. You can tell she loves what she does because it shows in the way she treats her clients. My experience went from good to unforgettable thanks to her. If you’re coming to Lilly’s Astoria, run to book with Natasha she’s truly the best and deserves all the recognition. I’ll definitely be back!
Lawrence was amazing! So kind, attentive and welcoming. Food was fast, portions were incredible and overall delicious. Drinks were BOMB and very adorable. Definitely worth the trip if you aren’t from queens!
Had an amazing time at Lily’s this place is a gem! The vibe was chill but lively, perfect for a date night or just catching up with friends. The drinks? Top tier. I had possibly the best Long Island Iced Tea of my life — strong, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Huge shoutout to Drew, the bartender, who was on point all night. He kept the rounds flowing and made sure we were good the entire time. Now let’s talk food: the bacon mac and cheese was out of this world. I’ll be honest, I don’t usually trust just anyone’s mac and cheese, but Lily’s blew me away creamy, cheesy, crispy bacon bits, just fire. The wings were also really solid great flavor and cooked just right. My girlfriend loved her daiquiri, and the All-Day Happy Hour was the cherry on top. Can’t wait to come back. Lily’s just earned a spot on our regular rotation.
Lily’s is truly a Astoria gem that exceeds expectations! The service is top-notch, the food is divine. The ambiance is pure bliss. Music keeps you moving even while in your seat! Andrew the bartender is remarkably attentive even on the busiest of nights and knows exactly what you need before you even ask. This has become one of my go-to destinations to connect with friends, family or simply to indulge in some much-needed solo time and savor delicious food. Not to mention HAPPY HOUR ALL DAY!!!
I will admit… I went in with a chip on my shoulder because Halsey was a favorite (&change can be hard!) BUT then we had the BEST experience with Sean (the actual best!) He suggested the Spicy Bag, and that alone was a game changer. We strongly suggest to try his “Spa Water” for a refreshing start to the evening. Quickly followed by the ‘Talk Peachy To Me”… amazing. PSA : HAPPY HOUR EVERYDAY ALL DAY! Say Less. Don’t hold back - it’s worth the try & an amazing new chapter on 33rd to celebrate!
Originally went to try Mom’s Kitchen and Bar where the wait time was too long so we decided to try Halsey’s next door. Turns out they are affiliated and share a kitchen which meant we have their menu as well. On Sundays seating is tough due to brunch but we got outdoors seating right away which was great. There are heaters and curtains to block out random people walking on the sidewalk which was great. I had the bottomless brunch and chose mimosas which were regular. The Mac and cheese balls , chicken and waffles and avocado toast were all delicious items. Actually I have to say you MUST try the chicken and waffles, the gravy is amazing and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and checked in with us regularly. If you are coming for brunch be prepared because the brunch menu is limited. We tried to get the cheese steak empanadas but was told they start serving that after 4pm. Overall, a wonderful, delicious restaurant in Astoria for traditional brunch dishes. I definitely recommend and will be visiting again just for the chicken and waffles, OMG.
Small happy hour portions great staff.. weird cocktails not my favorite place but not bad .. strange vibe..not friendly not fun. Fun like a job interview... ' great to be there Will be glad when it's over' kind of place
The food is above average. The wings were good but for $15 for half dozen, that's a bit tough considering the amount of KFC around the area. The Brussels sprouts were good..
Decided to check out Lilys on Sunday for an early evening meal. Love that they have an everyday happy hour. Opt for the Rosé and City Girl Cosmo for the first round. Both drinks were good. 4/5. Had the Rated Bloom and Talk Peachy To Me. The Rated Bloom had a refreshing taste and Talk Peachy To Me pack a punch. (5/5) The spice bag was really flavorful, the Irish curry gave it a unique taste. 4/5. The Smashburger was pretty disappointing. It was basically a thin patty but didn't have the texture of a traditional smashburger burger (1/5). The service was really good, we had an attentive bartender. Lilys had a quaint but cozy vibe with an old school flair.
Decent local watering hole serving up your typical bar bites and nice selection of beers and cocktails. Daily happy hour and brunch is a bonus. Lively mature crowd with live music on weekend evenings. Friendly service and overall attitude of staff is very upbeat. Not much more to add except good vibes and good times.
Visiting and just got drinks: Went to grab a few drinks with three friends and seemed like we got there at a great time, not busy at all. We were seated by a real nice guy but then got a fedora-vest wearing bartender who took 20 mins to come over then took another 15 mins to get/make drinks. Would be cool if it were busy but he would literally just sit on his phone. Besides that the drinks were good and the atmosphere was real cool but clearly the bartender couldn’t care less about patrons.
We went for brunch and had a few different things. The deviled eggs, amazing. The wings, great. The drinks, they didn't skip on the alcohol. But when it came to the entrees, they were lacking. The avocado toast, baked mac and cheese, and chicken from the chicken and waffles were just okay. It's a great place, but I think the entrees we had weren't as good as the rest of the meal, especially for the price.
Cute and good drink deals, but they list wings at $15, which seems like a decent price, but it's actually for only six wings. Getting charged $30 for a dozen was a disappointing surprise and felt intentionally misleading
Drinks are good, food is average — and the group ordered for Moms kitchen next door. I had the electric lemonade and it was perfectly made but as for the food, nothing was a “wow” from anyone. Maybe it was an off day but things felt under-seasoned and compensated by extra toppings (ie mayo, whip cream, truffle oil). We appreciated the service, as the servers were incredibly nice and accommodating.
I went to lily's yesterday in the afternoon and was immediately turned off, as the manager was talking down to one of her employees in front of customers. I alway come to lily's and love all the stuff but seeing how management handles interactions with employees wasn't pleasant to see and very disappointing. things could be handled a lot more professionally.
Two of us popped in yesterday before the snowstorm and sat at the bar. We ordered beers and wings and the biscuit basket. Bartender was not friendly, she literally did not smile once. Service was aloof, I had to get her attention multiple times. The 3 stars are for the wings alone, they were pretty good. We tipped well as usual, but I probably won’t be back unless it’s a different vibe at the bar.
UPDATE: Since their rebrand ~July 2025, this place isn’t as good as the previous Halsey’s. As Lily’s, the food menu is much smaller, drinks taste more watered down and noticeably smaller portions, and the vibes don’t sit the same. Even the service got worse! We wanted to order more drinks but the new servers, even without a full house, were slow to make the rounds. Food: The menu is updated and now only the basic foods like some apps and select entrees. Only four mains to select from (chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, salad, or a steak). Some apps for finger foods but that’s it. The food previously was so good. Now it’s gone. Drinks: Got a mocktail and it was the tiniest thing for $13. Odd, since I got an alcoholic drink and it was double the size and equal in price. On the good side, the beer boots are available if you order a beer under $7 and instead you can get it in a boot for $5. Pricing and portions need some work as there are large differences in value for cocktails vs. wine vs. beer though. I appreciate the attempt to have “Happy Hour all day every day” to psychologically make prices and value seem better but with a smaller menu across the board and watered down cocktails it may be better to just drink beer or wine each time now. At least there’s consistency and no ambiguity on what you’re getting. Will visit from time to time but the charm and offerings they previously had were better. New version doesn’t hit as well. Hope the new experience is better for others. ———————————- We love going to Halsey’s for Thursday night trivia or mixtape bingo but this place gets PACKED fast. We usually need to show up an hour beforehand to ensure we get a seat. There’s enough seats and comfy bar seating but people love this place so it fills up quick on prime nights. Food: Delicious but limited options. If you’re looking for good bar food and portions, Halsey’s fits the bill. Last time we went we got the gravy tots, chicken avocado bowl, and hot honey sandwich. Filling and delicious. Drinks: I like how they rotate special cocktails and have special menus for some occasions! On the Valentine’s menu they had mocktail options too. Service: Always consistent and speedy. Never have a problem with the service here. Atmosphere: Said previous, this place gets PACKED. If you’re stumbling in on a weekend it’ll likely be maxed out. But they have the TVs on and good company so people chill here for a while. Halsey’s is a local favorite and we’ll keep coming back!
My first time here. As soon as I came in, I got acknowledged by the bartender, who would be taking my order. I ordered the smash burger, which I was expecting to be a bigger size of burger, but the burger itself was great. In regards to the drink, the bartender mixed vodka with grapefruit, which was an okay drink. I scored them a 3 because although the bartender started great, I later ordered an Aperol Spritz, which I never got. He appeared tap-out and exhausted. I came alone, so at the end, I felt a big disappointment because they started great.
Drinks were good but the service was so slow. The place was 90% empty, but we had to wait for the bartender to hang out and play on their phone most of the visit. The atmosphere was cool and I enjoyed the music but couldn't bare staying longer than 2 rounds.
I’m so sad. Halseys was my favorite neighborhood bar. Honestly, it was my Cheers. I don’t know what the hell Management has been thinking over the past 6 months, but since Jordan left (and now Mario ?!?!?!) it has gone DOWN HILL. What was once my fave spot is now another flat-beer, bland food serving run-of-the-mill bar. Someone needs management to know that their PEOPLE were the reason we were coming here… not the overpriced menu and the bad wine.
We just left the place awful service! The place had three tables, I went inside to ask for a table and a guys was taking stuff out of the dishwasher whit his back turn to the door, everything was very quiet and I said “excuse me” no answer, waited a few to see if he would turn nothing, again “excuse me “ nothing, I waited he never turn his head nor check on the door or tables. Finally I raise my voice and said excuse me and he finally looked at me with this very upset face and said nothing, I asked can we have a table outside he took one of the menus slammed it on the counter and said “someone will be outside” I took another menu because we are two and went to sit, we waited and no body came to greet, give water nothing. My boyfriend went inside and the same guy had not moved from the dishwasher back turned to the door. He said he had told me I needed to go order inside, I have been many times to this place and I have never had to order directly inside unless this is a new rule. This place is fun and the food is good but this service is hurting the business for sure. I don’t think I’ll be back
Long wait time with no response especially when doing bottomless and heavily understaffed to the point they attend to you based on party size and importance. RIDICULOUS and rude
$95 for 2 burgers and 2 drinks? We ordered 2 smashburgers and two Old Fashioned cocktails. Burgers: $30, Cocktails: $44. Bill? $80, and with the tip, $95! Total rip off. I could buy a bottle of Woodford Reserve with $44 and still have change in my pocket. Plus, each drink had an ice cube the size of an Amazon delivery box in it, so how much bourbon was there really? No wonder the manager ran over to us as soon as he saw my husband's drink was finished and asked if he wanted another! When I saw the check, I couldn't help but ask the manager, "Is this a mistake or are you really charging $22 for an Old Fashioned?" He said, "We have to keep up with Manhattan prices." No, you don't, dude! You're a neighborhood burger joint in Astoria! Good Luck, Lily. It's the last time you'll see us.
So sorry to have to give this place 1 star but when I ordered an Old Fashion with Woodford Reserve bourbon they charged me $22 per drink!. That made it $80 before tip for 2 drinks and 2 burgers. I love NY and realize prices are higher here but that is outrageous. I’ve had the same drink in some of the finest restaurants in NYC for less. The burger and fries were good but buyer beware if you order any drink not listed on the menu. Very disappointed.
