Had such a wonderful first experience at Caspian tonight. The owner was super helpful in explaining the menu and giving his recommendations. I chose the lamb shank and even tried bone marrow for the first time. The Persian tea and baklava with saffron honey is amazing! I will be a repeat offender for sure.

Outstanding Persian Restaurant— A True Gem! The food arrived hot, beautifully packed, and bursting with authentic flavor. From the perfectly spiced koobideh kebab and fluffy saffron rice to the crispy golden tahdig. Even the appetizers, like mast-o-musir and kashk-e bademjan, tasted freshly made and delicious. Portions were generous, pricing was fair, and the customer service was friendly and efficient. If you’re looking for a takeout experience that delivers bold, traditional Persian flavors right to your home, this place is a must-try. I’ll definitely be ordering again!

We stopped in to place a takeout order and were helped right away. We ordered the chicken kabob with saffron rice and the koobideh (ground beef kabob) with saffron rice. Both were delicious, but the koobideh was definitely my favorite. Overall, a great experience!

Came here for a friend’s birthday and I can say my stomach and mind left full and happy! The service from staff was very sweet and so nice to us. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap which was mouth wateringly delicious. It was hard to stop eating to save room for dessert. The dessert was absolutely delicious as well! We ordered one of each, from the sholezard, to the saffron ice cream, and the Texas sized baklava (all pictured). They even gave us a free tea to cleanse our pallet in between. I’ll for sure be back to try more items and a regular customer now!

Me & my 2 year old shared the Mix Koobideh & Rice, and both the ground beef kabob, & chicken kabob were delicious! I also ordered the lentil rice which was incredible. I’m Colombian, so I was not expecting it to have raisins but it was delicious. The grilled vegetables were also perfectly charred and fresh. I’m so happy to find a healthy option to eat out with my son! The restaurant itself is also beautifully decorated and the staff was very kind and attentive. They have high chairs and the tables are the perfect height for them so he was able to sit comfortably.

Superb customer service. It was our first time eating at here and the staff were super friendly and helpful. We ordered upon their recommendation the lamb shank, half akbar joojeh, and the ash reshteh. Out of the three we really enjoyed the ash reshteh and the lamb shank the most. The ash reshteh was sorta like a soup/stew made with lentils, chickpea, and beans with a flavorful seasoning. It was great way to start our meal. Their pita bread is super soft and fluffy. The lamb shank was super tender and flavorful. They serve it with this dill and lima bean rice along with soup that the lamb was cooked with. Super flavorful! The Texas sized baklava was not overly sweet. This place has been in business for 10 years now. Great place to check out.

I am so grateful to have been told about this place!!! As a native New Yorker with a Greek and Persian family I grew up on Persian and Greek food and have been searching around Austin for both for 2 years. The food, service and atmosphere was absolutely top notch!!! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Extremely authentic with all the Persian spices that I know and miss since moving here. The portions are huge and prices are extremely reasonable. I strongly recommend the Saffron ice cream!!! It is incredible (I ordered 4 more ice creams to go). The Cornish Hen, a Persian staple, was probably the best I've had. I can't say enough good things about this place. You won't be disappointed!

If you want Persian food in Austin that is as good or better than home made Persian food then this is the place to go. You can order for pickup or delivery, or you can order and dine in, on limited fashion. As soon as you take the first bite you will think of how amazing the your Persian mom, aunt, wife, grandma, or other family made the food you so ouch adored. The food is made with love and care and tastes “like home”. Highly recommended. We ordered to dine in. And then we ordered even more to take home. Love this place!!

I ordered the kabab koobideh, and honestly, it was one of the best I’ve had in the US. The flavors were amazing, and the texture was spot on. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The only issue was that the food lacked a bit of salt. If they could fix that, it would easily be a 5/5. Highly recommend!

Authentic Persian food. Beautiful interior design, friendly staff. Food was very delicious however we did not like the fact that salad was plated next to our main dish and had no dressing. The service was a bit slow but it wasn’t a big deal. BTW, baklava and the Persian tea at the end was amazing. Highly recommended!

I wish I could give zero stars. The koobideh was an absolute disaster-flavorless and clearly low quality. The kashk bademjan tasted old and poorly prepared. I was traveling and ordered food to my hotel. The order arrived without utensils, and because I was hungry, I tried to eat it anyway, which resulted in food poisoning. It is shameful to serve food of this quality and call it Persian cuisine. Overall, this was a very bad experience, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I’m usually a big fan of Persian food, but the experience I had at this restaurant was really disappointing. I couldn’t even eat the koobideh — the meat had an old, unpleasant taste. I used to live in Houston, and Caspian Grill there is far better in every way. The quality of the food is one issue, but the self-service setup is another. It felt so strange. You have to get your own water, and they don’t bring the traditional plate of herbs and bread that every Persian restaurant typically serves. For a dish that costs almost $25, the experience and quality just don’t match. It honestly feels like they’re trying to save money by not having a waitress, but servers usually earn their income through tips anyway, so it doesn’t seem like a smart decision. I even drove 30 minutes to try this place, and it ended up being a huge disappointment.

We stopped here on our first trip from Dallas to Austin after a 4-hour drive. Unfortunately, it was a really bad experience. We ordered beef koobideh with rice—both were very poor quality, and the koobideh was the worst I’ve had. We also got zeytoon parvardeh and found a small piece of plastic in it. When we told the manager, there was no apology or sense of responsibility, which was disappointing. I couldn’t finish my meal even though it was 4 PM and I was very hungry. The mast-o-musir wasn’t good either. The only positive was the lentil soup (adasi)—that was good. Overall, I don’t recommend this place. It’s worth taking the time to find another restaurant, especially if you’re visiting and hoping to enjoy the local food.
