Uber eats — the pozole verde was incredible
Been here a few times now and between the great service and the amazing food..I love it here. I recommend the beef fajitas and carnitas 🤤 What is a bummer is the parking lot is difficult to find parking...but once you get it you get seated promptly and enjoy those freshly pressed tortillas!!
This place has AWESOME food. The salsa was GREAT. It's only $2.70 for a small +chips. (If you get a to-go order then it comes with one) I ordered through Uber Eats (But i picked it up instead of delivery) They had a buy 1 get 1 free deal. I got a 2 chicken enchilada +rice and beans plates for $11.40. That's a great deal! 🙂 I take my salsa VERY SERIOUSLY and I would say that theirs is the best i've had in Austin. (So far). It was fresh and the flavor was SO GOOD! I highly recommend this place.
November 2025 Flores Mexican Restaurant is an incredible authentic Tex-Mex place that always been very consistent in food quality. They have a great atmosphere especially in the bar where I usually sit. The staff is quite attentive and enjoyed the chips and salsa placed in front of me. We had a nice view of the playground and they do have some outdoor seating. I noticed one of the TVs needs to be replaced but they are many others to watch sports on. I always enjoy how they decorate the place for the holidays. I ordered the Joe's Tacos and selected two soft chicken fajita tacos, with bell peppers and onions, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice and charro beans like the menu stated. The tacos were very good and was basically two prepared chicken fajita tacos but could still add my personal guacamole, pico de Gallo and any rice to it. It had great flavor and the tacos were large. November 2023 We have been back here several times since my last review where Flores is on our restaurant lunch rotation. This visit I ordered the lunch special #4 Two Chicken Enchiladas and a house Margarita on the Rocks. The place was already decorated for the holidays and like usual sit at the bar. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The enchiladas were great and had a nice chicken flavor with the green sauce on top.
This was my first time here. Even though I'm from a bordertown, the service was amazing as well as the food. Our waitress was Alice and she was very attentive throughout our time there Thinking of going there again when I go to Austin in the future 10 out of 10
We loved this place!! I’m here visiting from Arizona, and Flores did not disappoint. The outdoor playground was great for the kids plus we could still watch hockey on the flatscreens. The Tajin margarita was excellent and my pozole was even better. I got a container to take my soup for later…but ended up eating it in the car before we made it home it was so good
I must have parked near this restaurant 30 times going to the gym. I was invited to brunch on a Saturday so I finally stopped in. The service at the place was great! As soon as we were seated chips and salsa were brought out. The chips were fried half corn tortillas so you never had to dip tiny chip slivers in the spicy sauce. Flores lunch menu was dropped alongside the regular menu. It says Mon thru Fri but the server said it's practically everyday. $9.49 We ordered the Cheese Enchiladas, Huevos Rancheros and Fajita Taco plate. Each served with rice and choice of beans. I asked how many tacos were served with the lunch special and was told only one. The beef fajita was huge. Packed with enough meat for two to three tacos. The meat was tender and well seasoned served with onions, peppers, pico and guacamole. I had to ask for additional tortillas. All of the food was fantastic. I can't wait to return to try more of this Mexican cuisine.
This place is incredible! I came with friends on Sunday evening (8PM) for a late dinner. The atmosphere was bumping with Mexican music, the set was beautiful and the drinks were flavorful and evenly balanced. I had the carnitas platter and it was so good! The meat was so juicy and full of flavor, the rice was good, and the green sauce was perfect! The charro beans can use some work but they weren’t bad. In my opinion, it could have used some more salt and tomates pasted with a few jalapeños. The desert was delicious and paired really well with the strawberry and vanilla ice cream, the fried cheesecake was different and the perfect way to finish dinner. Our server was quick and so friendly. Ensuring we were always taken care of during our visit.
My husband eats here all the time whenever he is the neighborhood during the week while he is working. It was my 1st time here. Everything was great. The food is delicious. They have a pretty good selection to choose from. The prices are reasonable. Our waitress was extremely nice and helpful. Good atmosphere. Family friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our order even though they were packed for lunch on a Saturday. I really enjoyed my visit!
Best place to go as a family. The service is great and the atmosphere is even better. The outdoor area has a playground and lots of space for the little ones to run around. It's also entirely shaded by trees, and there are huge fans and misters that make being outside in the Texas heat comfortable. Each kids plate also comes with ice cream. And the food is delicious.
While I was alone on this visit, it is clear that this is truly a family friendly restaurant. Lots of shaded outdoor seating, spacious play area (no photos out of consideration to families with children at play), and staff that deliver outside and follow up. As I was alone, I sat at a table for 2 and had some great salsa/chile, and some great Chicken Enchilada Mole. The mole is a little less chocolaty than I prefer, but balanced seasoning, rich and creamy, on some wonderfully prepared chicken enchiladas. The Ofrenda for founders/grandparents was lovely too.
We love Flores! We come at least once or twice a week. We love the atmosphere, and the food is consistent!
Had the poblano enchiladas and they were amazing! So tasty. chips and salsa were great too. Fun bar, very lively crowd and lots of big TVs to watch sports. Big fan!

Our family celebrated my cousin’s birthday today at this location. Our waiter was Fredo and he was awesome. He had at least two other bigger parties but always remembered to check on us. He was patient with us all and we appreciated that. Thank you for your service
I don't know what they put in their queso, but it is made with love. The fajitas were good but not my favorite thing on the menu. The margaritas were solid, and our kiddos loved the playground!
Good restaurant for a tex Mex style food has an outdoor playground for kids to play, but it gets too hot when weather is hot. Drinks were very good. I personally ordered a fajita with shrimp steak and chicken. I enjoy it very much. I ordered a side of refried beans for my chips and thought they just needed a little flavoring. Other than that, everything else, as well as the servers, were very nice. We got our order in and our food back fairly quickly.

This was our first visit and we arrived in the afternoon, when only the bar area and outdoor seating were available. While the ambiance wasn’t what I initially expected, it turned out to be laid back and enjoyable. The salsa had a nice spicy kick, and the fajitas were okay. The shrimp was dry. The charro beans stood out more than the rice, which was just okay. Service was very fast, which is great if you’re in a hurry, though it did feel more casual than the pricing suggested. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Not mind blowing, but solid food and a good spot to hang out, especially if you’re watching a game.
The main reason to come is for the playground. The food isn't very good and the service is usually decent. I got the chicken tacos and they were so wet so the next time I came I got ground beef. They were somehow even more wet. I would say several ounces of liquid. Just take the extra few seconds to let the scoop of meet drain or stop letting it rest in a soup bowl.
Friends took us to this restaurant last week and it had one thing that made it super great that my daughter LOVED: the playground that was attached. First let me talk about the food and why I am only giving a three star rating. I do not like to complain about the service, but it was pretty empty and the server rarely came over. I understand that places are short staffed, but he was not very attentive and rarely came back for refills. But that is not why I gave it three stars. The main reason is the food. It was decent, but my taco plate was swampy and full of water. Pick up my taco and the tortilla just fell apart in my hands and was slimy. I am a big ‘consistency’ person and it just made me gag, was like holding phlegm. (So gross). I did take the insides of the taco and fork and knife it, and it tasted good and was seasoned well. My wife got the chorizo and eggs and it was super greasy and made it taste not as well. The chips and salsa was on POINT, but the waiter rarely came to give refills on that. What we LOVED about the place was the playground, with outside seating. As an FYI the staff on the outside were on point with all the guests, would definitely eat outside next time. After i finished eating my meal i took my two year old daughter out and she had a blast. It was a huge playground with tons of stuff to do and keep kids entertained. She got out a ton of energy which was awesome as my wife and her friend went shopping later. I will come again, but choose better food wise and sit outside.

Ordered beef enchiladas and a chalupa to go. Enjoyed a pretty margarita while waiting for my food. It looks like a good place to take your kids to as there’s a few playground here. As for the food, really bad. The enchiladas were essentially tortillas rolled with no protein and smothered in sauce. The chalupa was ok. I won’t eat here again, but the employees and service was good and the marg was pretty good.

This review is for the William Cannon location. I’ve enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but a recent experience was disappointing. I ordered fajitas for one, and my son and his friend ordered fajitas for two. When the plates arrived, my portion of meat was the same as theirs. I politely asked the server if they could bring additional protein since theirs was for two. He handled it professionally and corrected it. The kitchen manager then came to our table and immediately stated, “I look after my kitchen.” I showed him both plates and explained the portions were the same. He responded that “sometimes they just put a little more.” When I pointed out that this meant either my plate or theirs wasn’t portioned correctly, he doubled down and again said, “I look after my kitchen,” in a raised, defensive tone while we were seated at the table. Mistakes happen. The issue was the unwillingness to acknowledge it and the confrontational response by the kitchen manager when the server had already corrected it. After being a regular customer, this interaction changed my decision to return. And no you don't look after your kitchen - at least not in in this case.
Thin, stale flower tortillas. They used to be better. Never enough cheese or sour cream given with the fajitas. La Flor margaritas are way too sour and just tasted like lime juice. Waiter just gives dead stare when asking about the drinks. All this for ~$100 for two people that had one drink each. This place has gone down
This place has a lot of good things going for it such as the location, outdoor seating etc -- EXCEPT THE FOOD! The taste and quality of the food has been steadily declining since it operated from its old location near the Y. At that time the food was pretty good and this was our go-to location for Mexican food. So when Flores moved to its current and much larger location on William Canon we were pleased. However on our first few visits we realized that the food quality had declined. Still impelled by old habits, we kept visiting. It was also the place where I had monthly lunch with an old friend. Alas the fancy Location and old memories could not rescue the food, whose quality slipped further and further until this restaurant may possibly now have the worst Mexican food in South Austin! The food is soulless, flavorless and tasteless and most likely to to wreck havoc on your stomach with your pallet frustrated at the inappropriately spiced, cardboard flavored food. The last time we went, a bee fell into my wife's glass after she had just poured the first part of a Mexican Martini. She pointed it out to the waitress and the waitress just walked away with the glass, poured out the contents and brought it back to my wife. The glass had not even been washed or changed -- leave alone the more courteous response to replace the unsampled and lost content! This is a place that is now on our "Avoid at all Costs" list.
