I normally eat breakfast from this restaurant. I place my order on UberEats and wait for it to get delivered. I've places several orders and not once have I been disappointed. The acai bowls are large, with a lot of fresh fruit and are so filling. My second favorite go to is the BST Toast. It's 😍 Amazing ! I love how flexible this restaurant is. With each item, you have several options to add or remove fruit, toppings or sides. Chiefs kiss!😙🤌🏻
Revolución in Downtown Austin is a great pit stop. Free parking downtown on Sundays and I use to organize a lot of events at Revolucion. (See pix) Be careful of the parking signs though. I got towed once as I didn't know that there's valet parking only from 4.30PM onwards. Love the food there too!!
Excellent Coffee and food. The place gets just a little loud when it’s full, but still vibrant and worth the visit! Excellent coffee drink alternatives and plant based/veg options making it a solid choice for gathering groups.
I had a delicious esquite bowl and vitality juice. Both tasted great. They had a big bowl of water for my dog, thank you for being dog friendly. Very friendly helpful staff.
Ordered hot vanilla latte on multiple occasions while staying nearby and enjoyed all experiences. The bean, the barista, and the seating area where all fantastic.
As a visitor to Austin last week, I wanted to find a coffee place that was chill, interesting, had good coffee, and close to where I was staying for the week. Found it! Cold brew was excellent - detected hints of orange, and what I learned was watermelon - different, but what I ended up not enjoying the first time, really enjoyed the second, and third. Breakfast Taco's were amazing, and the fresh banana cut on my oatmeal hit the spot. Appreciate the graciousness, and opportunity to enjoy your coffee.
Great food, friendly service, and chill atmosphere. I had some of the vegan tacos and they were delicious. They also have great coffee, real Macha tea, and cold pressed juices.
Loved this coffee shop! The taco and avocado toast was delicious.
Stopped here for breakfast and coffee. We had the PB&J açaí bowl and breakfast tacos, both of which were great. I personally like there to be more granola in my bowls than what they served but that’s just a personal preference and what they serve here is healthier overall. I ordered a latte which was very good flavor wise, though it was barely warm. I’m not sure if this is how they serve it here or not, but it didn’t bother me enough to take off a star.
Bright little coffee shop located in a bustling intersection in downtown Austin within a couple blocks from the convention center. They have a long service counter, several tables, and a small snack bar. There is paid street parking and a train station nearby.
I love everything about this place. The location is perfect, and the food is consistently high quality. A huge shout-out to Manny for being so amazing and making the experience even better. I highly recommend this place.
the best breakfast taco i’ve found in austin!! super friendly staff, lots of food and drink options, and immaculate vibe. i’m here at least once a week for a breakfast taco and drink tons of vegetarian/vegan options. and you can’t beat the 2 tacos + a drip coffee deal for $10!
Grabbed a vegan bite here while in Austin and I was not disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the texture and flavor of the poke bowl. Plus the matcha was delicious. The bright and airy mood and plentiful seating make it the perfect place to study or take a lunch break.
Hello! I wanted to come on here and give Revolución a review because everyone deserves to know how great it is!! They have delicious food, a nice and clean atmosphere, and fun drinks. Have you heard about the $5 taco + coffee combo?? It's my favorite and such a good deal!
I dropped by Revolucion with two friends last Saturday. Drinks and food were excellent...but the folks that work there are the reason l'il go back. So friendly and welcoming. When they found out my birthday was that week, they showered me with birthday wishes and congrats! So nice. I'll be back soon.
Every time I’ve come to Revolución, I’m greeted by a friendly person at the counter, the tacos are fantastic, and it’s some of the very best coffee in town. I’m so happy they added a location in Austin - as a serious “buy local” gal, I say this regional chain counts. They’ve made the interior feel spacious and cozy at the same time. 5/5 no notes.
As a downtown resident for the past two years, this is our go-to coffee spot. Great coffee and we love the breakfast tacos..fresh, clean ingredients. An awesome environment for working / socializing, and the staff is so warm and knowledgeable.
We came here for a late lunch, and there was no wait to seated at a table. We ordered the 3 piece dark meat plates, but apparently the sizes of the legs that day were too small, so they gave us 4 pieces of chicken each instead, which was super generous. The chicken was fried such that the skin was super duper crispy and sort of tasted like chicarrones, but the meat was still juicy on the inside. We were very very full after this meal.
We were in Austin for the weekend and stopped by after visiting a Christmas bar, looking for some good food. It was my fiancé’s first time here, though I’ve visited before, and this visit definitely didn’t disappoint. We ordered the special—two thighs, two legs, and two sides for $16—and everything came out fresh, hot, and perfectly fried. The chicken was incredibly flavorful and impressed my fiancé, which is not an easy thing to do when it comes to food! The sides were good as well, but the chicken was definitely the star of the meal. We were seated quickly at the counter as soon as we walked in, which I appreciated. The only downside was that the temperature in the restaurant felt pretty warm, possibly because we were seated close to the kitchen. Still, the laid-back, casual ambiance and the friendly, welcoming staff made the experience enjoyable. Overall, we’d absolutely come back—especially for that amazing chicken.
This spot absolutely hit the mark for us. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, quick, and welcoming. We were greeted right away, seated immediately, and couldn’t believe how fast the food arrived—less than ten minutes after ordering. The sweet tea was incredible, honestly one of the best I’ve had. The chicken was fried perfectly with great flavor and crunch, and the fries were just as tasty. Everything came out hot, fresh, and satisfying. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we left feeling completely impressed.
If you're looking for some delicious fried chicken, Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken in Downtown Austin is the perfect lunch spot! It's a small and simple shop with friendly staff, and they prepare your food quickly. We ordered the four-piece chicken meal, which included tender chicken, crispy French fries, and okra, along with a two-piece white chicken. Everything was fantastic! The breading on both the fried chicken and the chicken tenders was amazing, and both were cooked to perfection, leaving the chicken moist on the inside. The fried okra was nice and crispy, and the seasoned fries had a little kick to them. Overall, the flavors were incredible, and we highly recommend trying this place!
Ordered a 3 piece dark meal and it was delicious. Chicken was crispy and lightly spicy, proper moist and tender. Opted for m&c rather than slaw, which was on point, a little paprika on top of tender pasta with creamy balanced cheese sauce. The beans are good, nice counter to the other flavors on the plate. Why did i wait this long to go here?
The chicken is FANTASTIC, we will definitely be coming back! There is just a little spice to the batter and it is perfect! The corn nuggets and Mac and cheese were really yummy. The fries were okay, I prefer mine to be fried a little bit longer, still good. I was not a fan of the ranch but the honey mustard was good. The service was really fast even with every table being full and they were down a server. The staff was super friendly and it was a really good experience!
I’ve got a peanut allergy so I had to ask the chef about the peanut oil (refined oil is usually a green light)! Not only are the staff absolute sweethearts, but the food knocked it out of the park. The chicken had a thin batter was so oh so crispy and the chicken itself was very juicy. The beans and Mac and cheese are awesome! Fried okra (a first for us at the table) was a favorite. This spot has been around for a reason, love love love it.
Been living in Austin for 22 years now, and only visited Gus's this past week for the first time, and already been to eat there four times in 8 days...that says something! This might be, hands down, the best fried chicken I've ever had. The only chicken that I'd put up there on my list would be Ad Hoc in California, but they're very different styles of fried chicken. Gus's is the crispiest, tastiest, moistest and flavorful chicken ever! The atmosphere is fabulously Austin, the service is very personal and fantastic, and the pecan pie a la mode is to die for (maybe the best pecan pie ever as well). I was compelled to write this review just because it's THAT good. If you haven't been, go now!
Love this old school style restaurant. The fried chicken is amazing straight up. I didnt try the sauces at all, Gus's has four to choose from, the chicken has a dry rub kinda taste to it that is slightly spicy hot. Chicken is not overly breaded, a plus for me. Downtown Austin location with a pay for parking lot beside it. Only ordered the chicken to try, did not try any of the sides or desserts. Very cool 50's style dinner vibe to it. Staff is pleasant to communicate with and make sure your experience us a good one. Recommend this restaurant for fried chicken.
Super solid pickup option- food stayed crispy and fresh all the way home. The spiciness of the chicken is deliciously subtle. Sweet tea was excellent- not too sweet.\n\nService was super cool

Still by far the best fried chicken I've ever had. The price and service are amazing and would highly recommend anyone visiting Austin.
Extra Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, friendly service, I waited not even 1 minute for the chicken to be brought to the counter, perfect!
It's legit! Worth the wait! The portions are super big for someone who doesn't have a big appetite but a hearty meal for sure.
Amazing food!!! Food was fresh and so good. Chicken was spicy as advertised and that’s the way I like it. The service was great!

If you have never tried Gus's fried chicken, you really need to! Always great service. Nice canned beer selection. And of course, great fried chicken. Plates come with your choice of 2 sides.

Alright, buckle up coffee lovers, because I just stumbled upon a caffeinated wonderland! Forget your average cup of joe, this place is serving up experiences. First off, the food? Seriously good. Like, "I'm coming back for seconds" good. I dove headfirst into their Toro Latte, and let me tell you, it was a flavor fiesta in my mouth! But wait, there's more! They've got homemade tamales that are basically a warm hug in food form. Seriously, ditch your diet plans for a minute and indulge. And for the love of all things crispy and delicious, snag a side of their potatoes. Trust me on this one. Basically, this coffee shop is the real deal. Go check it out, and when you do, tell 'em April sent ya! You won't regret it. 😉
Quiet pricey but still okay considering the healthy options available. Those healthy breakfast options were not that easy to find in Austin. Easy location and great variety of options. Coffee was really good!
I am visiting from Houston, and am originally from Tennessee. This location had great food, all except Mac and Cheese. It tasted like Kraft Mac and Cheese. Other than that disappointment, everything else was very good. If you have not been to Tennessee for the real Gus’s I would definitely try it there, or in Houston as they are better than this location overall.
Food was absolutely fantastic. Chicken had a bit of a zip to it which made it delicious. Potato salad was spot on great, Mac and cheese was cooked to perfection and the fried okra was finger licking good. Only bad part was the horrific parking. The city of Austin wanted to charge $23 to park for 2 hours in an open dirt lot.
Chicken was very tender, very juicy and very very good. It was a bit smaller than what I thought it would be. But they do say all natural chicken. Now there is a kick. Obviously because it is hot and spicy fried Chicken. I think the only problem was when you finish all the chickens. The okra seems a little bland also the coleslaw. The store itself is very eclectic. The shop felt like a really old school ice cream pop kind of feel.
Fried chicken was delish. Fried pickles were very good also. I usually don't comment on sides but beans and Cole slaw were very good. Food was a 5. service was excellent and fast. Ambiance was a 3.…

Had a half chicken, slaw, potato salad, beans and mac n cheese. Everything was okay but nothing special. Good staff and atmosphere but nothing to make us come back.
This was the 1st Gus that most of my family had ever gone to. On that visit, the food was so good. This prompted us to visit other locations in Atl and other cities. I once woke my wife and kids up at 7am and said we are driving to Atlanta for lunch at Gus. Given our Austin experience, everyone was excited. We compared other locations to this one because our experience was so great. None of them could match up. This time back in Austin, we had a party of 13 and we bragged about how good this location was… SOOOOO DISAPPOINTED. This location went from the best to the worst. Our chicken was so dry, Chicken pieces were really small, and tea was diabetic sweet… (The waiter thought it was funny). We literally got 2 cups of water and made 3.5 drinks. My son (this was his 1st visit) took a few bites and couldn’t eat anymore. The entire table was unhappy. We told them not to expect too much from the sides but the Chicken is the winner. Not that day! The chicken was horrible. As a Chef and highly recommending your location made me look really crazy. I sincerely hope that this hasn’t become the norm. A chicken wing and a breast should never be the same size. The thigh was almost bigger than the breast. I hope this reaches someone that cares and that can and will correct this. Thanks
