This place is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Texas. All the food is amazing. The Banchan is made in house and you can really taste all the love that goes into it. Seriously, every time I’m here, I feel like I’m eating in someone’s home. Eat here! Late night, lunch, any time, just eat here.

I found this place through TikTok and finally decided to try it. We got the sweet and spicy chicken. Let me tell y’all, the batter on that chicken was incredible!!!!! Not only was the sauce amazing and the chicken perfectly seasoned, but the batter itself truly stood out. It had the perfect crunch and was impossible to get enough of!!! 👏🏼 I also ordered the spicy beef soup, Yukgaejang, and wow. It tasted so homemade with rich, deep flavor. The beef was tender and paired perfectly with the vegetables and noodles. I even took some to go and reheated it later, and it tasted just as amazing!!! I definitely recommend if you like soup noodle dishes. We also tried the sushi, specifically the Tiger Eye and Dynamite rolls since those were among the cooked options. Both were great, though I personally preferred the Tiger Eye while my friend preferred the Dynamite, which really comes down to personal taste. Still, both were very good. Some of the side dishes were good, though I do think there is room for improvement. The potatoes, for example, were a bit too hard. Overall, though, the experience was AMAZING!!!

As someone who loves jjampong and has had it in Korea before, I would have to say that this is my favorite jjampong in Austin. One thing I don't like about jjampong from other places is the veggie overload. Odaku keeps it pretty simple. They don't use huge chunks of onion slices and they use bok choy (I love bok choy) and woodear mushrooms (which I also love). The broth has that signature deep red color that lets you know it's going to hit and the noodles are the right type and consistency. There is also a side bar with various side dishes, condiments, and sauces. The cucumber kimchi and bok choy kimchi is packed with flavor and is also an essential for me. And their ice cream! I look forward to trying other items on the menu but I just can't get enough of their jjampong!

Delicious Korean food, I will be back to try the sushi and noodle bar. We ordered the kim chi tofu soup, kim chi pancake, and dolsot bibimbap. This may be our new go-to Korean spot! Very friendly staff and quick service. Complimentary ice cream cones and kim chi! Try it out!

I'm pretty picky with Korean food and I am so glad I found this place. Better than any of the highly rated Korean restaurants in the city. The self service system they got going on is what you'd see in Korea it's even nostalgic to me. Although flavors were spot on, most of the foods were slightly sweeter than I'd like and I think that could have been intentional to accommodate American palette. Price was great too!

Newly renovated with new serve yourself soup concept. I do miss the old concept as the atmosphere was cuter and homey but the serves and food is still top notch. Huge portions too

If you’re looking for a place that serves both delicious sushi and flavorful Korean dishes, Odaku in Austin is a must-visit! I stopped by recently and was blown away by the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. The sushi here is incredibly fresh with generous portions, and each roll is prepared with care and precision. I tried a few of their specialty rolls, and every single one was bursting with flavor. On top of that, their Korean dishes were equally impressive—perfectly seasoned, authentic, and comforting. It’s rare to find a restaurant that excels at both cuisines, but Odaku does it flawlessly. The service was another highlight. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and always had a smile on their faces. My order came out quickly, and the team made sure everything was perfect throughout my meal. The restaurant itself is spotless, well-organized, and has a cozy yet modern atmosphere that makes dining here relaxing and enjoyable. Whether you’re a local looking for a new favorite spot or visiting Austin for the first time, I highly recommend Odaku. It’s the perfect place for amazing food, friendly service, and a great dining experience!

Amazing food. So good. Sauce bar, free ice cream and unlimited miso soup! The noodle bar was fun to pick out and the girl at the front answered all of our questions and is so helpful. Will be coming back! :)

So glad to have found this place! Lots of options, and you get unlimited, miso soup, banchans and sauces with your meal, as well as free soft serve! I believe there's option to get veggies as well. We got the bento box with spicy pork, and were stuffed! Came with choice of sushi roll, rice, pork, salad, and 2 egg rolls! Will definitely be back!

Odaku is a Korean-Japanese restaurant that recently renovated. I really enjoyed the food before but now the food and experience is even better! They've gone from a sit-down to a slightly more casual setting. They have a brand new menu as well as a separate soup and stir fry bar. Their entrées are very reasonably priced and come in huge portion sizes. I really appreciate the value, especially with eating out getting so expensive. The Jijiang katsu chicken is the best I've had in Austin. We felt very welcomed by the staff and they were very helpful in explaining their new menu. Best of all they have complimentary miso soup and an ice cream machine!

Ordered Togo and the food was still really good. Favorite is the cold noodles. Korean pancake and tempura were nice and crispy. Sushi was pretty good too. Id definitely try this place again! I had a large order so they offered me free ice cream while I waited. One person I was ordering for is on a specific diet and the team here was very accommodating. Great staff.

We loved O’Daku before but we love it even more now that the renovations are done and the noodle bar is open! I am addicted to the noodle bar! I love the mushroom broth a lot! Complementary miso soup, kimchi, and ice cream!! 🍦 The kimchi here is FIRE 🔥 Easily one of my top three favorite kimchis. I love the creativity with the menu after the renovations. One of our weekly go to restaurants.

Visiting after the renovations to this place it was nothing but applause! We quickly ordered from the noodle bar and put our vegetables in our bowl for them to cook. While this new concept may be confusing it was really convenient as I chose the ingredients that goes in my dish! I also got the black bean noodle which was phenomenal. Overall I would definitely visit again just for what they offer. Staff was very friendly. The vegetables were very fresh and there was an assortment of ingredients to choose from! I would go for the individual dishes but recommend to anyone that was considering going?

For the regulars who frequented Odaku in the past, it may come as a shock or slight disappointment to the new changes that have taken place. For others, it’s a fresh new twist on Korean cuisine. — The menu has drastically downsized from before. Has its pros and cons. Now, they can focus their attention on quality dishes rather than mediocre variety. (Not that they were bad to begin with). And who is to say they won’t add a few items as time goes on? They’ve already added two new items to the menu. — I’ve visited a handful of times since the change and the new menu structure along with the interior redesign makes the entire restaurant feel more modern and less constricted. Has a nice open floor plan which accommodates more seating for busier times. — Let’s talk food. The katsu; 100/10. I usually have to avoid eating fried foods due to the oil being overused and food being too greasy. This is not to hype up the restaurant, but the quality of the crisp and batter was so…”fluffy”. That’s the only way I can describe it. It wasn’t over-fried nor was it under-fried. It was a very ‘light’ texture. And that’s just about the crisp. The flavor was amazing, egg was perfectly cooked over easy, portion was more than enough. I would appreciate some more katsu sauce though. — Next, I tried the black bean noodles. The hostess was pretty confident in saying they’ll be known as the best in Austin. The standards aren’t too high in that regard since there’s very little Korean restaurants that serve this dish. Dallas on the other hand, LOTS. While the portion size could be slightly larger, the flavor and texture of this dish easily tops any restaurant in Austin, it could even compete against popular places in Dallas. 9/10 — With their new menu structure, they now offer a noodle bar. I personally am not fond of food being kept out in the open, similar to Chipotle, but I’m sure they are set up in accordance to health and safety regulations. I haven’t tried this option myself but my coworker who did have it only had good things to say about it. It can be confusing at first and it may take a few tries before you get the hang of seeing how much everything you collected weighs and how much food that correlates to. 7/10 — I’ve ordered a few different sushi rolls here and while it’s not the best sushi quality, it’s not awful. It’s still fresh, the rolls are delicious, but having a number of higher end sushi joints in the neighboring areas, I personally will stick to the Korean food menu. 6/10 — As far as the new ordering system, you place your order at the counter and seat yourself. Water, side dishes, utensils, clean up are self service. Once the food is ready, your name is called and you tend to everything yourself. The hostess is very friendly and polite, always greeting guests with a warm welcome. 9/10 — Before I forget, the side dishes. There’s not many actual side dishes as typical Korean restaurants do, but do NOT forget to get yourself some kimchi. All I will say on that is, 100/10. — It’s understandable to be harsh towards the restaurant owners for the change, but definitely give them a try. Might not be what you’re “used to”, but it might turn out to be your new go to for lunch or dinner after all!

Really nice sushi place, beautiful presentation, great service and really nice atmosphere. The Korean chicken was delicious and I would really recommend the 911 or double Alaska sushi roll.

The food here has not changed since they opened... and that's a GREAT thing. Service has always been stellar for us, though we are regulars. Lunch can be busy, dinner is less crowded during the week. The sushi is fresh and they have a long list of specialty rolls. The Korean food, from the side dishes to the entrees is authentic for America. Try this place and you'll become a regular too.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times because of the Heaven Maki, it’s super good and definitely worth the price, but this most recent time I decided to try the Tonkatsu Ramen and my boyfriend got the Kimchi Udon. We also ordered a seafood pancake but it never came out. Both soups were pretty bland. The soups were flavorless but the noodles were cooked well. We ended up letting Martin know and he refunded the soup and got me a heaven maki instead. Martin was attentive. I spent a significant amount of time trying to get one of the other servers attention, but they didn’t really look in my direction so it was pretty hard. The other servers seemed to be focused primarily on getting people in and out while Martin was checking in frequently and asking about our food or clearing the table for us. Honestly, I’d rate the whole experience a 2/5 if it wasn’t for Martin being there.

Service was a little non-existent. We've never been here before, so nothing was explained... No appetizers or entres were recommended. We were given water, and then that person walked off. The waitress took our order, brought back our orders, and we didn't see her again until we were done 🥴 The food, on the other hand, was pretty good. Great serving size! Cute interior. Great choice of music! It's small but has space. It's very clean; floor and atmosphere. I would probably come back. Lil bro was satisfied, so that's an A for me!

We stopped by for an early dinner on a Saturday and noticed the restaurant has been renovated, with a new ordering process where you place your order at the counter instead of at the table. Unfortunately, the overall experience wasn’t as enjoyable as before. The food quality seemed to have declined, with most dishes tasting average. One of our sushi rolls was served warm and had an unusual taste. Service was lacking—we had to get up several times to retrieve our own utensils and napkins. Overall, it was an okay visit, but we’re unlikely to return.

Re-visited after renovations. They simplified the menu and limited the korean items to strictly noodle dishes which was a huge disappointment because I loved the hot stone bibimbap. The new concept is sushi, single order, and noodle bar where you can choose unlimited vegetables and a weight limited meat which they cook into an either a soup or stir fry with your choice of flavoring, noodle, and spice level. Tried the stir fry with lamb, mild mala sauce, and egg noodles. Good quality meat but skimpy on the noodles. Perfect spice and sauce level. Average - nothing amazing, good value for the price. I also tried the Kong Guk Su (cold soybean noodle) since I don’t see that offered at other Korean restaurants. Amazing creamy soybean broth rich with roasted sesame notes. Came with half a boiled egg, cucumbers, and a slice of tomato. Small portion of noodles. A bit pricey for a mainly noodle dishes which with no significant protein. They offer unlimited side dishes of kimichis which was a bit of the sweeter, not heavily pickled. Also had unlimited sauce bar which I was confused as to what it was for since the noodle bar options came with sauce. Basic ice cream with cake cones also comes free with the meal, nice sweet treat for dessert. The concept of the new restaurant is a bit confusing and I hope they bring back more of the old Korean menu. Overall average, they lost the touch of the original restaurant. ———— Original Review Misleading how this restaurant has sushi in the name as it looks like they are more well known for their Korean dishes. Ordered the hot stone bibimbap, came with six banchan and a miso soup. Loved the side dishes, the fishcake and potatoes were super savory (not sweet like most places) and the vegetables were crisp and perfectly pickled. A good variety of thinly cut vegetables for an easy mix into the rice. The meat was a minuscule amount of minced beef bulgogi and an egg yolk, not a protein forward dish. Got the crispy scorched rice at the end of the meal, worth the extra dollar for hot stone.

I came here a long time ago and missed the atmosphere and food. So I recently came back and saw that they had renovated the entire place. The service was horrible and the food was subpar. I had the salmon lover roll, and it was doused in Mayo and not very appetizing. I tried to use soy sauce and it didn't help, It was just very bland and not good. The service was lacking, maybe since I was one person they just didn't feel like I needed to be weighted on as much. There were times where they even forgot about me until they looked up and saw me and was getting what I asked for, it was not busy at all and I know why. I could have totally walked out and they wouldn't have noticed because they were busy doing other things. There were even people that showed up, waited and then left because no one was upfront. I will not be returning here and it ruined my thought of this place. It was where I first tried sushi and loved it. Go to Sushi Junai across the street, you will not be disappointed!
