I like this location…. It’s clean and in a clean area… lots of young workers, the attendant was helpful. Great deals here. Especially the grab $4/ $5.
Even though it was busy because school had just let out, the employees already had my meal packed and ready to go when I arrived. They were all very nice! They even included napkins, didn’t forget the sauce, and included my straw in the bag.
First things first, they are super fast and always get my order perfect. They are friendly and seem to actually enjoy working together (if you've worked in food service then you know how rare that can be). The staff are exceptionally kind to customers and one another. I've witnessed them calmly help out a coworker who couldn't figure out the POS system and explain the menu options without rushing a customer. One night I was having a terrible time and I stopped by on my way home. One of the workers noticed my demeanor and took the time to talk with me and just make me feel seen. It was honestly one of the kindest moments I've experienced during the pandemic. This staff is top notch and they absolutely deserve some recognition for it.
Super clean restaurant! Fresh, fast and hot meals all the time! The staff is awesome and super friendly with the most warm and caring smiles all the time 😁
There is an employee here named (ben) and he really cares about the customers and is a very cheerful person. As long as this employee is here, we will always come here to eat. Never lose such an employee. He is very good at his job.
The samosas and veggie tikka masala were wonderful and exactly what I needed. Hashish took such good care of everything, I look forward to seeing him again soon!
My favorite restaurant! I travel to Austen monthly from San Diego, and always try to stop in for a few meals while in town :-). I love the flavors of the food! Whatever spices they use are spot on! In addition, the service is great. Servers are friendly, kind, and top knotch.
I love Indian food, and this is some of the best I’ve ever had. The flavors are incredible. The service is great. Ashish is often our waiter, and he does a great job every time. Saffron is a hidden gem. If the secret gets out, it has the potential to be one of the most popular restaurants in Austin.
The food was absolutely FANTASTIC but the highlight of the evening was our server. Her name is Asika, I believe and she is a human Christmas tree. Unbelievably sweet, happy, and excited waitress that gave 5 star recommendations and was a pleasure to have helping us with our food choices & order. The cauliflower appetizer, the Chicken Tikka, and the Saag are hiiiiighly recommended. Everyone at the table looked cucumber (except me) and took Asika's advice for mojitos and they got rave reviews. My wife got the ingredient list and made them at home the next afternoon. She said it was super refreshing. All in all, a great experience. We'll be back.
I have been wanting to stop by Saffron for a long time. Today I did and I am so glad because my partner and had an amazing Tastebud experience. He arrived home soon after I had returned from Saffron with the takeout bag full of incredible entrées. I selected lamb, vindaloo, chicken tikka masala, lamb chops which happened to be the best I’ve ever had. Continuing on with saffron scallops, saag paneer, Brussels sprouts, garlic, naan and rosemary naan. My partner Vaughan, was unaware that I had gone down there to get food. By the time he was 1/4 of the way into our haul, he was saying he could not believe how delicious it was and he was right. Everything kept getting better and better. The lamb chops were perfectly done and smoky from the tandoor. I hope they don’t get tired of us as I may have found my new favorite place to dine.
The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. However, the atmosphere is a bit cramped for the number of tables and the amount of space. The lighting is also a bit dim, not in a romantic way, but I highly recommend trying their food.
I've been to this restaurant three times and I cannot stop ordering the saag lamb!! It is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. I'm sure someday I'll start trying to butter chicken and other famous and wonderful Indian food but now I'm very partial to this dish! And there's always plenty for another meal
Without a doubt not only the best Himalayan Indian and Nepalese food in Austin, but also the best overall Indian food in Austin! I’ve been to Nepal and their food is legit! The best Indian food south of Toronto in North America. Get the Samosas, but also get the Saffron Chicken Lazeez! It is to die for! My wife is a vegetarian and loves the Channa Masala.
Had a great experience at Saffron! We tried a wide variety of dishes — panipuri, pakoda, kurkure bhindi, veg chowmein, chicken drumstick, veg and chicken biryani, and chicken thalis. Overall, the food was flavorful and satisfying. The biryani was a bit too oily for our taste, but everything else was delicious, especially the kurkure bhindi and the masala chai — the chai was a real standout! Even though we arrived close to their afternoon closing time, the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. The service was warm, and the washrooms were clean and well-maintained. Definitely a good spot for flavorful Indian food with great hospitality!
This place is amazing, the food always delivers, but it’s the service that makes a difference. If you’re lucky to have Bose as your server, he’ll make your experience unique. Please tell him about your like and dislikes and he’ll make the experience unique to you. I can’t wait always to come back!
A very good Indian restaurant which is worth testing and tasting! We tested several dishes and all of them were fresh made and tasty. If you are asked if you line hot food, keep in mind that what hot means for a truly Indian restaurant 😂. I did not cry but the food really was hot. The sauce of the chicken meat was both delicate and delicious. The only thing that did not match my best other Indian restaurant place was the nan. A special notice for the service: very good! Food quality: 5* Food taste: 5* Service: 5* Ambiance: 4* Quality/price ratio: 5*
I love this neighborhood Wendy's that is close to our home. Kids also love it when dropping them off after school to grab a quick meal and hang out with her friends. The interior has been recently updated and it looks amazing!. The service and the food were a lot better than I expected and we will be back soon!
I visited Saffron in Austin, TX, last week during a trip, and overall, the food was quite good. I ordered the Lamb Curry, which many restaurants struggle to get right, but Saffron nailed it. The lamb was perfectly cooked, and the masala and spices were well-balanced. The Butter Chicken was also tasty, and the Mango Lassi, while a bit overly sweet, was made with good quality mango pulp, though it wasn’t fresh mango. One thing to note is that the menu is a bit overpriced for what you get. The young women serving us, who seemed like international students, were sweet and attentive. However, an older server or possibly the manager started closing up near our table and was speaking loudly with colleagues, which felt unprofessional and made the experience less enjoyable. As for the interior, the atmosphere wasn’t very comfortable. Given the prices they charge, I would expect a more refined and welcoming ambiance. In conclusion, while the food is worth trying, they could improve the overall dining experience to match the upscale pricing.
Customer service is lacking, but food always comes fast. This place is fairly void of customers most of the time, so it’s nice and quiet, but makes me wonder how much longer they’ll stay in business...
My Double Baconator, fries, and root beer were great! I usually get the Frosties, too, though this time I decided to try the Cinnabon pull-apart thing in the display case. That one was very much not great - the bottom half was burnt and inedible.
I'm tired of how Wendy's continually tries to pass on cold food to me. First, it's the fries. Cold & limp. Then the burger is lukewarm. Why? Wendy's, why do you think it's OK to give your customers old food? Just trash it! Or better yet, get better managers. CUSTOMERS: Don't put up with old food! Check your food & if it's not piping hot, then make them give you fresh food. You deserve hot, fresh food! You are paying for it. They do this to us because we put up with it. I say no more!
It is the first time we've ever dealt with rude customer service from this location of us coming here. We ordered our food and pulled up to the window to pay. They charged us and only gave us one bag with half our order. We told them we are missing the other half and they basically called us liars and that they gave us two bags. We told them they were more than welcome to check our car since we hadn't even pulled away. But they were refusing to give us the rest of our food. It wasn't until we called the cops and had another manager come they gave us the rest of our order. And to top it off the first half of the order was wrong, which we found out until we got home. Don't know if we want to come back to this location which sucks cause its extremely close to us. Pretty disappointing with how the employee handled us telling them we had food missing and just assumed we were lying.
First the counter clerk couldn’t count change for the under $5 order. I got “chili” which is supposed to be a meat dish and maybe have a few beans. It was more like bean soup with a sprinkling of meat crumbs. Where’s the beef?
Two sandwiches were ordered at the same time. One was literally like a brick while the other was fine. How long was that sad excuse for chicken in the heat rack to lose all of its moisture?
it isn't even food. globs of cheese & a big grey leaf of lettuce, mayo & mustard & nacho cheese everywhere!! nasty !!, no straw for the coke, the fries were of cardboard quality...so sad I came here. Beware it is horrible.
I ordered a Dave's double combo no mustard. Cashier asked me do I want mayonnaise? I said no. I want everything thing else. No sauce/ dry. I get my Dave's double. Just bun, 2 patties and cheese. I take back up to counter. Nicely asked for the lettuce, pickles tomato onion. Worker and manager both tell me that's how a plain hamburger is made. I said I never spoke the words plain. Then they double down and say to me dry and plain are same thing here. Lol...from my experiences dry means no sauce, everywhere else on planet earth. Instead of apologizing for there innocent mistake. They want to lie to me. Make me out as the disgruntled, agitating customer. Plenty of other places to spend my cash. Bye-Bye!
I ordered a burger with no cheese and an order of french fries the french fries were cold and the burger had cheese on it melted cheese at that that’s not what I ordered and I’m really getting upset with them because they do this all the time to me and I just paid $10 and that I’m flushing down the toilet
I just moved into the neighborhood, and it was the only place opened past 10 pm. I placed a large order thru their website, right before walking-in. The card was charged immediately, but the order never got to thru to the location. I showed my order to the staff and showed them my phone to prove that I had been charged. They said nothing came thru, waited several minutes and just reordered the whole thing, the manager ignored or forgot that I requested some ingredients off due to allergies. I know I can't expect 5 Star treatment from a fast food place. But please stop stealing from your customers!
The location is great! Needs to be more KID friendly when so many kids stop there after school. Never had a probelem during morrning hours but the later the worst the service becomes. My child is new to the city & was given the wrong order and they just refused to fix the issue.. i had to MAKE HIM ask for a different worker! Even ordering online and having them delivered the drivers are just ignored.
Pulled up to this Wendy’s to pick up a DoorDash order. It’s a little late in the afternoon so you have to go to the drive-through When I get there, I’m greeted at the speaker by Andrea’s I proceed to tell him the name on the order The first time I did it I felt like I didn’t say it clear enough so make sure the second time to say it more clear coming from a restaurant background. I’ve used plenty of drive-through Headsets and it is difficult Most times to hear the customer clearly Andrea’s Repeats the name back to me and I’m assuming he forgets to turn his mic off, but proceeded to say in his Latin language (I’ll keep it to English for the people that don’t understand Any Latin language) he says “ MAX!!!! Do you hear this guy he said his name like a White person MAX!!!! Just to be very clear if I find out any of my drive-through workers say anything close to this, they would immediately be written up suspended or fired. It’s unfortunate for Andrea’s that I understand every single word that he said. So to the other person inside that Had the other headset on you are witnessed to this and quite frankly you’re probably the manager in charge for the shift I hope that Mr. Andrea’s gets held accountable for his actions and learns a life lesson from this Not everybody doesn’t understand
Liars. They lie about their food and their options. When needing a refund they gave the money back before taxes. Wouldn't apologize about the items they were out of and tried to blame me when needing a refund. They should all be replaced here.
Not only have I received the wrong order or cold food more than once but today I was just denied an add on at the window by Gabriella (who claimed to be the manager) bc she was in a bad mood. Not to mention rushed me at the drive thru menu through her speaker. There was no one behind me in line for her to deny me an add on and when asked about it she didn’t want to talk, just turned her back immediately and kept telling me no. Terrible people skills, and always poor customer service, why work service industry if you cannot compose yourself?
This restaurant used to be one of our family’s absolute favorites — we’d order from there at least three times a week! The food was always delicious, and the staff were humble and friendly. Unfortunately, things have really gone downhill. The taste isn’t the same as before, and the customer service has become terrible. The last time we went with friends to dine in, the staff came over three times reminding us it was 2:30 and they were closing. We had to leave our meal unfinished and pack it up to go, which felt very disrespectful as customers. Today I tried calling to place an order, but the line kept showing busy. Later, my husband called from his phone, and they picked up right away — it seems like they’ve blocked my number for some reason, which is really disappointing. Customer service truly sucks now. This restaurant was so good until last year — it’s sad to see how much it’s changed.
