I must start my review by saying that Syndee is an absolute gem! I realize this takes her out of her waitstaff capacity but her knowledge of hiking areas nearby and the places that are dog friendly is absolutely uncanny! Put her in a position so she can exercise her expertise! That being said she was also a wonderful waitress and took good care of us. The special for 2 was very good… I never knew hanger steak could be that delish! Super impressed!
This place is excellent if you're willing to drop some cash. The service was great, ambiance warm and refined, and the food was absolutely fantastic. Every dish used high quality ingredients and was prepared with meticulous care. If you're a whisk(e)y drinker, look no further! There are literally hundreds of bourbons, scotches, and whiskeys to choose from. And if not, their cocktails and wine selection will still blow you away. They even offer whiskey flights if you have a hard time choosing.
It was a busy night for being Off Season around the Valley, however I got to enjoy a great service and amazing food. They also managed to meet my expectations and food restrictions. Totally recommended if you want dinner nice with a cozy atmosphere
Had breakfast and dinner here. Great meals, great service and great views. They have gluten free toast as well. The Paklova dessert was amazing. Also had an amazing tequila old fashioned with maple syrup.
I LOVED Maya, but I’m pleased to say that Stoke & Rye is MUCH better. Expertly crafted cocktails and main entrees. Even the sides are complex and hearty . The cast iron chicken is a masterpiece. Every detail of this dish was prepared with care. The broccolini had its own groove , the grits - on point , the balsamic onions , literally all the way down to the heirloom carrots - delicious. Every single item on this plate was prepped separately with precision. The chicken itself has flavors that literally bounce off your tongue ( this is what you want folks ). The honey butter rolls will leave you wanting more. This is hands down , the best restaurant in Avon currently. Do yourself a favor and visit this fantastic concept by Richard Sandoval. Way to go guys ! It’s up to you to keep the consistency up when it gets busy. But for now. WOW. :) Cheers to the chefs🍻
Loved it! Very good food, I recommend the cacio e pepe, so good! The service was great too and delicious drinks!
Great experience ever! The food was amazing, the staff was kind, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere was great, the design of the restaurant is very warm and cosy. The Westin hotel in general is beautiful and next time I’ll stay there! Highly recommended ❤️
Literally had to take the liberty to grab my phone in the middle of dinner to sing the highest praises for our bartender and server Spencer. He truly made my first night in Vail, so incredibly special I felt very welcome to along with my date being a titanium member of Marriott I, don’t normally go out of my way to do this but I absolutely had to thanks again. Spencer and thanks stoke and rye . I will be back again tomorrow. I’m stoked!
Wonderful birthday dinner for my wife! The beef tenderloin and the Mahi were exquisite, and our server, Natalie, was wonderful! We really appreciated the thought and care put into our dining experience--including the "happy birthday" chocolate on our ice cream dessert. Thank you, Stoke & Rye (and Natalie)!
Live music by Kris Ochs, Fabulous service from from Andrew & Alexander ... food was delicious (Pork Belly Mac & Cheese and Bison Burgers with extra crispy fries). We will be back!!!
The food is great, the service staff very friendly and atmosphere very comfortable
Given our previous experience at the Westin, we were surprised to see that the average rating wasn't higher. Nonetheless, we took a chance and we're very glad we did. Our meal included cocktails prepared table-side, beet salad, butternut squash soup, cast-iron chicken, and bread pudding. Both the food and service (from our waitress, Scotland) were excellent. While we miss the Maya (previous restaurant), Stoke & Rye is a welcome change!
Table of 4 adults, food was delightful. We ordered a big array of dishes. Frank was a fun, efficient waiter. We love it here. Will be back for a second time for Easter Brunch. We used to eat at Maya a few times a week when it was tacos. Steak is heavy, so we only make resys here twice total for our entire three month stay in Vail. Easter Brunch is a beautiful meal and def worth attending.
If you visit Avon, you must go to Stoke and Rye. Please ask for Alexander. He was the best Waiter. Our kids fell in love with him with their Shirley Temple and extra bread….! we had the best time because of him… And let me not forget the fantastic espresso martinis that he brought us!! A must have
I’ve spent the 2nd or 3rd week in March in Vail for about 25 years. I’ve eaten in almost every nice restaurant in the area. We started going here about 3 years ago. This restaurant has always been very good but is now truly great. This was the best meal we had in the Vail area this week. Our server, Alexander, is possibly the best head waiter that I’ve had in the Vail area, maybe anywhere. We had 15mo old baby with us, he went out of his way to give her a great experience and help us keep her entertained. The Westin Hotel is Avon is very nice with easy parking. Also has a live band in the lobby. The view of Beaver Creek mountain is beautiful from any seat in the restaurant. We were a party of six and got a wide variety of drinks and entrees. Everything was excellent including the dessert. The entrees were also responsibly priced compared to other restaurants in the area. We will definitely be back next year. Thanks
Really amazing experience. Alexander was an amazing waiter and was leading some wait staff training; they all did an outstanding job. They worked with us to tailor the servings and service so we could share items to enjoy the full pleasure of the amazing food. Steak, chicken, sides, rolls, dessert, craft brews…. All super good! Worth every penny.
Wonderful Christmas brunch/buffet. Service was excellent and the restaurant not overcrowded. Loved the selection of foods. The breakfast foods were fresh and the omelet bar had a good chef. The staff was well prepared to handle a larger crowd. The piano player was lovely and the music well thought out. My only criticism was the prime rib. So tough with gristle I could hardly cut it. I would recommend it if your staying in the area.
Nahuel & Nina were great. The food was delightful. Good environment! Better company. In summary - an awesome night!
I recently enjoyed a delicious birthday dinner at The Stoke and Rye. I ordered the scallops a little crispy and they came out perfect. Syndee was my server and she was very engaging while suggesting a few items which were spot on. Looking forward to going back soon!
Absolutely loved our dining experience! Syndee provided exceptional service from start to finish—warm, knowledgeable, and attentive. The highlight of the evening was the bison tomahawk special, cooked to perfection and paired beautifully with a wine Syndee recommended. We finished with an incredible mason jar dessert that was as charming as it was delicious.
Food was immaculate. Service was even more immaculate. Our server was Andrew. He did great. Very cheerful, polite, and very welcoming.
Great meal. Our server, Andrew, was excellent. Very friendly & professional. We truly enjoyed our dining experience even more because of his helpful advice on ordering and his personality.
Came for my wife's birthday and had a great time. Pooja was our bartender and server. She did a great job.
Nice blend of an upscale and casual environment. Appreciated the comfortable leather chairs. Menu has a blend of typical dishes like fillet with mashed potatoes and asparagus that was cooked to the requested temperature. They have a few creative items, but don’t get way outside the box and have a couple vegetarian options too. Decent wine list. Service was excellent, and the manager stopped by more than once to check on how things were going. Overall, this was a very enjoyable dining experience,
Angela was very accommodating on Saturday January 3rd...I really enjoyed her personality & her service was solid. Nahuel was AWESOME both Saturday & Sunday night. Although he wasn't a server, he stepped in multiple times to accommodate us. He has a damn good personality. I expect him to do great things in his life. Really solid young guy!!!!
This was our first experience at Stoke & Rye, and was it awesome. We choose the dinner for 2 with the fondue as the appetizer, scallops and steak for the entree and carrot cake. Our server Cindy was awesome and Kevin, the bartender was super cool. Our food was amazing,, the quality was outstanding, the atmosphere was great and finally a place where the food and service are top notch.
One could say I was quite stoked about eating at Stoke & Rye. The menu is has many delicious items. One thing that immediately felt odd was the $8 bread. You get 4 hot and delicious bread rolls, however as a party of 5, we needed to order 2 which would be $16, all for bread. Something that would be free anywhere else. This doesn't come across as exclusive luxury but rather like a struggling restaurant who is nickel and diming the patrons of the Westin. While the bread was indeed good, I've had similar for free at the restaurants at the Four Seasons and at The Ritz-Carlton. Starting with what Americans would see as an upcharge is not a good look. However, the rest of the meal was delicious and fairly priced. The mussels were flavorful and plenty. The onion soup was correctly made and delicious. The ribeye was flavorful through and through. Alex was a very pleasant server and he recommended the smoked chocolate mason jar, which was a very fun surprise. That and the pecan pie was a delight. The carrot cake cheesecake, however leaned a bit too much in the cheesecake direction and lost the essence of the carrot cake for my fellow diners.
Mushroom ravioli was nice Mango tomatoe avocado salad was ok Lamb chops were great Salmon was good a little fishy towards the end , didn’t understand the eggplant thing on it
Food was okay - we weren’t overly impressed but it was good enough. Our server was awesome and timed our meal perfectly. Wasn’t a busy night so our food came out fast. Heavy poor on my glass of wine😉 We came here for the special, probably won’t return to dine at full price.
I was dissatisfied with the cook on my steak as it was much too rare for my liking. Angela took care of it and brought a new steak that was a perfect medium rare! Love the customer service and the food was good too. Well done.
Stoke & Rye at the Westin in Beavercreek earns a solid 4 stars out of 5. The restaurant’s updated, contemporary American menu is a pleasant surprise and a notable improvement. During my visits—three breakfasts and one early dinner—I found the food consistently well-prepared, meeting all my expectations. The staff are another highlight. Friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive, they clearly care about their work and their customers, which makes a world of difference in today’s service environment. From start to finish, the experience felt polished and welcoming. Hotel restaurants often carry a bit of a stigma, but Stoke & Rye defies that stereotype. Whether you’re staying at the Westin or simply passing through the area, it’s definitely worth a visit.
When we checked in at the Westin in Beaver Creek, we stopped here to eat after Good Friday mass. Hostess were nice and we got a high top. We got seated, and then the server who was a lady. She said she would be back and took her for ever. She was really stuck up and very arrogant. We ordered the bread which was great. The the 🍄 ravioli which was good. We all ordered the scallops as we were on Lent. This is where they are missing out. This was a $50+ dish with taxes and you give us 5 scallops with a whipped mas 🥔 and scallops. And then you get this stuck up waitress who has a nasty attitude. What a shame for such a high end resort. Overpriced and not worth it
Hubby and I had dinner here one night during our annual ski trip in early March at Beaver Creek. The restaurant is very spacious and bright with high ceiling. Inviting, calm with relaxing vibe. Comfortable seatings and the expansive floor to ceiling windows on one side of the restaurant offers a great mountain view as well. Our server was friendly, but service was lacking. We had to ask for water refill 3 times during our meal. This was not just our table, we saw a table with family of 4, the mother bought up their water glasses to the bar and asked for water. For starter, we enjoyed the Colorado Fondue. On main course we opted for the 52oz Tomahawk Steak and a side of Broccolini but the steak didn’t meet our expectation. It tasted alright and was over cooked the way we asked for. Although our server offered to redo another one but we declined. They com us on desserts to make it up to us which we appreciated. Overall 3 stars with subpar service and food experience.
So I’ve eaten their breakfast, dinner, and happy hour menu at this restaurant and overall it was…meh. Breakfast if you’re going to get the low fat granola bowl make sure that you request a large bowl. When I first ordered it they brought what can only be described as make your own platter. With separate fruits, granola, yogurt, and honey. The problem is that the yogurt bowl is the same size as the granola bowl, meaning small, which made the attempt at creating your own…very messy. Their happy hour is, as the name says 1 hour. It’s a limited menu and you definitely get what you pay for, small portions. Also, who brings a smorgasbord with 2 small pieces of bread?!?!? Here you have all of these cheeses and meats, and 2 small pieces of bread to enjoy it. Pretty sure it’s a crime in France to subject someone to that kind of torture. Dinner was meh.
Food is average and overpriced. Ordered the rolls and butternut squash soup to start. The rolls looked delicious but unfortunately tasted like store bought Hawaiian rolls. They made a show of pouring the soup into the bowl from a little teapot which would be great if it tasted good. It was pretty bland and the ratio of the soup to coconut cream was off. I liked the little pieces of fruit in it though. For the main I got the cacio e pepe pasta which they also put a show on for preparing it with the cheese wheel. Again, would be cool if it tasted good. I ordered mine without pork belly, but it was served with it anyway. Additionally, cacio e pepe is supposed to emphasize pepper but they grated the most minute amount on it. Had to ask the server for salt and pepper to season the flavor lacking dish myself. The sorbets were good and not too artificial tasting which was a pleasant surprise and it's good that both the sorbets and ice creams arrive as a flight with three flavors. Was probably the only good part and who knows if they even make it. Maybe come for dessert and get dinner elsewhere.
The food here was good, but not spectacular, and everything was overpriced for what it was. I know it’s a tourist Mountain town and I expect to pay more, but portion sizes were small and quality was just so-so. Mark-up on the wine was the pretty eye-popping as well …. I expect to pay 2-2.5x over retail in a nice wine store, but this was closer to 4-4.5x for a lot of bottles I recognized. There was also a lot of flash that maybe could just be devoted to better food? Lots of menu items prepared table side - smoked, caught on fire, etc - great if everything else is wonderful, otherwise just an annoyance. Front of house service was good - our server was attentive and helpful. But the kitchen was clearly shorthanded. Took us nearly three hours to eat and we had our salad and starter together. For the price, there are better meals in the valley.
Definitely a mixed bag. Some of our meals were delicious others not so much. We enjoyed the cast iron chicken and lentil soup. My son loved the Bison burger. I found the server to be impatient and overall a bit rude with the table. That left me with a bitter taste given our party of 7 was charged an automatic gratuity of 20%. Our bill ended up being nearly $500. I think we would have been happier at the Mexican restaurant around the corner.
The establishment has not been operating for very long, so the experience might improve with longer operation. We ate a busy time and it took 20 minutes to put a drink order in, and the rest of the dinner cadence followed the same timing. Wine list is decent for both by the bottle and by the glass, pours are very fair for resorts. The food left a lot to be desired. Cacio e Pepe pasta was served over cooked in a cheese wheel. This involves over cooked pasta with absolutely huge globs of parmesan that don’t melt into the pasta. Great “table side” experience for entirely disgusting effect. Additionally pasta was served without pepper, I had to add any pepper that appeared in the dish. So order if you want slimy spaghetti with chunks of globby cheese (Included a photo of leftovers with cheese globs). The chicken which was also ordered at my table seemed to be good. Food timing will improve over time, but until they can put enough attention into their food to at least properly cook pasta, I would hold off. My table was accidentally delivered a chicken meal for another table and when they realized, they asked her if she touched her food and served it TO ANOTHER TABLE. Straight from our table to theirs. Also, if you are not staying there DO NOT SELF PARK. The charge is $60 for more than one hour and they validate $10. So add an additional $50 to your subpar food. Also the waiter said if you valet it’s 100% covered, not sure why self park would not be the same.
I came here with family to celebrate a birthday durning a week night. It was not particularly busy so when we were seated and ordered drinks we didn’t anticipate a long wait. We had a standard order of drinks, 2 beers, wine, and 2 cocktails yet we waited roughly 45 minutes for almost all of our drinks to come out. We then were informed by the bartender that “he was looking for the vermouth” which made it apparent they didn’t have any. As we didn’t want to order food until our drinks had come we waited on the drink. After an hour of waiting multiple waiters came to take the drink order and even then they were still confused on the order. When the drink finally arrived we put in our food orders. While waiting another random drink was hastily dropped at the table with no word from the waitress who dropped it off. We figured it may have been a comped drink as they offered to comp a glass of wine (which they never brought) due to the trouble but when the receipt came it was put down at full price. The food was alright… and that’s ignoring the price. The scallops were mediocre, enough to not bother bringing home, the chicken was… well… chicken, the steak was good but I’ve had the same experience at a Texas Roadhouse for 1/3 the price, and the burgers were a solid 7. The music doesn’t fit the aesthetic at all with a more techno and upbeat sound more suited to a cheap bar than a relatively expensive sit down restaurant. By the end we were struggling to find someone to keep our waters full and when the ticket finally came it was incorrect. What should’ve been 1 1/2 hrs turned into a 3 hour ordeal that seemed to drag on. At no point was I impressed of satisfied with any part of my experience and neither was my company. Throw a dart at Vail to find a different restaurant and you’ll do better. For a town with so many great restaurants I don’t understand why you would choose here.
The best thing about this place is it’s at the Westin. If you’re staying at the Westin and you’re willing to pay $10-20 to simply not go anywhere, it will, in fact, be here. If you want something actually delicious and willing to drive 5 minutes…northside kitchen is right there. Breakfast is a $35 version of something you can get at Denny’s for $15 (chicken sausage was good), but it’ll do (especially if you have a voucher for breakfast). Also ate here for dinner and it was fine — steak frites, Colorado fondue, wedge salad (split all 3 for 2 people).
The positives: the homemade rolls are amazing and the Salmon was excellent. The negatives: ordered the Steak frites and the Fries were inedible as they were waaayyyy overcooked and hard. The Ribeye was overcooked and bland as the chimichurri had no flavor. It was rough
So sad about our experience. I have been to happy hour in the past and really enjoyed it so we decided to go for the off-season special and while the staff was so friendly I think they were understaffed. They greeted us with a small glass of champagne, which was a lovely touch, and our server was so nice however, after he took our order he didn’t come back again until we were well done with dinner. My husband got the steak which he liked, and I ordered the mushroom ravioli. My husband had to go grab salt off of the server station (because no one ever came by) which I covered my ravioli in, in hopes that it would taste like anything at all. It’s worth noting I never have to salt my food at restaurants- I’m a pretty easy person to please! I’m so sad to say we will absolutely never be returning.
Service was horrible. Waiters name is Chance according to management. However in a review I read a guest said his name was Spencer. I’d love to know his explanation for being so rude to me and my wife. He did not share the specials with us however he shared the specials with other guest. He was attentive to “other” guest. . . He shook his head when I ordered muscles. Then we waited 33 minutes before being asked if we needed anything after receiving the pasta so with nothing else to do we observed. On a side note , we were hotel guests for 4 nights and saved this place for our final dinner. After dining all over Vail and Beaver Creek this was the only disappointment. Chance or Spencer you were the only rude disappointment we encountered in Vail Valley. The Westin is an awesome hotel.
Why go here when for the same price you can eat at Wyld? - The last two times we dined the service was abysmal and the food terrible and its expensive! - My companion ordered the salmon medium and I ordered well. When they both came out well done they took her food away and then didn't serve her at all. She basically never got her meal - After waiting 40 minutes for our server to take our order he finally takes the order..or begins to. He takes 2/6 diner's orders then sees some of his friends so leaves our table to go say hi to his friends!!! - The icing on the cake was when the busboy was clearing dishes and bangs the dirty dishes into the back of my head!!!! - The best part of the meal is the dinner rolls but you have to pay for them.... So no no no!! Westin you can do so much better!!! As a local I will never dine at Stoke and Rye again!!
Overpriced mediocre food maybe it was just our pickings but stay away from the scallops or just a bad night, very disappointing wish we would have gone into Vail but they have a captive audience staying at the Westin
Well, starting out to get some nice bread that is supposed be warmed up but yet, frozen in the middle. Sent back. Got flank steak, med rare, way raw and salty. Everything was salty ,I would say, prob one of the worst meals ever had in the the valley. Can't believe once again this valley is bought out by some half rate chef servicing high priced food at low priced flavor. Freakin terrible. If you are staying at the Westin, Do you're self a favor and go to subway !
Off season special-seems like a scam. 99$ 3 course dinner for two. In reality, it is a small ( about 12-14 mussels) appetizer shared for 2. Yes each party gets an entree, and to conclude 1 shared desert. In a regular restaurant appetizer $16+ entree $34$x2 + $12 desert ( that you wouldn’t even order at the restaurant). Total is 96$ you can have it at Rye and Stoke only at 99$! Complete scam in my opinion. And, please, top it off with drinks )24$ a piece. Complete scam
One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a resort restaurant. Only eat here If you have 4 hours to eat and want very mediocre food with horrible service at Michelin prices. Apps, entrees and dessert were highly lacking in flavor. Especially bad experience for a wedding party. And we now have to spend another day here spending resort prices on crap service and food.i couldn’t even get water when we were doing cheers for our empty glasses for 30min. Executive Angel Muñoz Jr. food is really bland and not inventive or he needs to be more hands on with his team.
Here for breakfast and what a disaster. The waiter entered our order on a computer that was not working? He never came back to our table after we ordered, red flag. Twice we had to go back to the kitchen area to look for him. After watching patrons come and go still no breakfast. He sheepishly let us know about the order not going through after one hour. Finally brought out some food that was obviously very under cooked and inedible. Such as white sausage (barely warm) and white hashbrowns (barely warm). WOW! Who does this? Needless to say we refused to pay and felt somewhat bad for not leaving a tip but honestly how could we.
Worst birthday ever. I ordered a manhattan. They didn’t have any vermouth. I ordered something else. It took more than an hour to eventually get my first drink but it wasn’t what I ordered. The waitress said she’d comp a glass of wine because of the delay. I told her I’d like that with my dinner. Food finally came out. Mediocre at best. I never got my wine. When we got the bill, it was only drinks, and not even what we ordered. We were honest and told them there was no food on our tab. She added the food. With so many excellent options in the Vail valley, I’m sad I wasted a birthday dinner here. Consider Vin or Fattoria for an excellent experience
