Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Kim gave awesome service and should be publicly recognized. We will definitely be back; top-notch!
Since this rating system is in whole number increments, it's hard to really differentiate between good and great. I really liked the food, and so did everyone in my party. Very nice environment, upscale, attractive. The crab soup was delicious, and i loved the fries. Burger was good.
The menu selection was large and decadent, with an assortment of options for EVERY diet. The plate presentation was exceptional and the prices were just a touch above average. But if you want quality a few extra dollars isn't an issue. The dining room was LARGE and clean with ample seating and a very large bar. The host, server and complete staff were approachable, courteous and efficient. We had Ashley, she was a delight. I attended breakfast/ brunch and will absolutely be back for dinner & cocktails. I ordered the Burrata & an espresso. The flavor combination & layers of ingredients on a simple starter was above average and delicious. It was my first time dining, but wont be the last.
I was there as part of a large group celebrating a birthday. We arrived just before they're opened. Service was great. They had a limit of 4 bills per table/server, so that complicated the bill.
We cam here for lunch and had a wonderful experience. Our server Mattie gave us wonderful suggestions and did not steer us wrong. We ordered the crab dip for our appetizer. It was full of crab meat and the sauce and cheese was delicious. For the main course, we had the Lobstah Sandwich and Seafood Club. Both were outstanding and FULL of lobster/crab. Lastly, we ordered dessert, the Strawberry Cheesecake with Honey Graham ice cream. Amazing! Everything was delicious and great portions. The manager even came by our table unprompted to check on how we were doing. If I could give them more stars I would. 10/10 experience.
We have been here twice within two weeks. Each time the food and service was superb. Both times we had Mattie as our server and she has such a pleasant personality and very knowledgeable of the menu items. This place will not disappoint.
I prefer to dine at the bar, because Jason & Chuck are fantastic! They’re very attentive and fun to socialize with. Half priced burgers with fries on Mondays and prime rib special on Thursdays are our go-to. Although expensive, the food is very good. I enjoy the split soup, wedge salad, and calamari. I also order “The Hungry Man” for breakfast at the bar on weekends (scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, sourdough bread, and seasoned potatoes). The coffee with cream on the side is chef’s kiss! Devin enjoys the Lauren’s Deli sandwich. I’ve tried the turkey burger twice. That one is hit or miss… too many sprouts. We both like the honey graham ice cream. Drinks are quite expensive, but I’ll order one once in a while when feeling fancy.
Lela was amazing as our bartender. She recommended a “Green Tea” which is very refreshing but had kick to it. Took our pictures and was very personable. Will be coming back when she is here! Thanks so much :)
This restaurant is a whole vibe! Mattie was our waitress and was exceptional!!! She gave excellent recommendations and made sure we were satisfied throughout our dinner. The salmon was cooked to perfection, and the stuffed shrimp did not disappoint. Be sure to ask for the list of desserts not on the menu... they are worth every penny. Will definitely return next time we're in the area. For those complaining about the cost... it's listed before you place your order, so I'm not sure why you're complaining... maybe try McDonald's next time 🤷🏾♀️
First time trying after hearing so much about it! Definitely recommend! Such a great menu, not to big but not to small, different options for all types of eaters, and the service was so kind
My friends and I visited last night for Valentine’s Day, and I reallllly have to say our experience was amazing!! The food was delicious, everything was cooked perfectly and still juicy. The lemon butter sauce on top of the salmon was to die for! The fried asparagus and mashed potatoes were perfectly seasoned. Our server was great and checked up on us consistently. We loved it here and will be back!
I went there for my birthday last night and it was a great experience since the moment we walked through the door. The decor and ambiance was amazing. Jessica was our waitress and she was phenomenal. The drinks were delicious and well mixed. The food was very well seasoned and fresh. We tasted each others food and everything was delicious. I recommend the crab cake and the crab imperial. It is the best flavor wise that I’ve had in Baltimore. The coleslaw was delightful and not too sweet. We are already planning to go back next week as this is in my opinion a top 3 restaurant in Baltimore.
My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Looking forward to returning to try more of the menu. Had the chicken francese and would highly recommend that dish
We went for lunch mid week. The restaurant was fairly empty. We were fitted immediately on the patio. Waiter appeared instantly. No wait. Got our iced tea and a flavored tonic. For the entrees we had the Peruvian chicken with a beans and rice. The second entree was chicken salad on toast with homemade chips. Both entrees were good. The Peruvian chicken was an entire half of roasted chicken served with 2 sauces. Cant recall their names. Only issue, no bread was served. Not a major issue has the platter was large. Chicken salad was white meat chicken. Very tasty. We had previously had tge chicken salad at the location in Timonium. We got desserts to go of NY style cheesecake with blueberry sauce and a slice of Smith Island cake. Would recommend this location.
From brunch to dinner, all of the food is delicious. The staff is always super friendly and nice. I highly recommend the short ribs or shrimp & grits for dinner. The classic burger or turkey sandwich for lunch. The oysters and cream of crab are perfect for an appetizer. Drinks, I really like that they have a list of mocktails on the menu for non-drinkers. The jalapeños ginger spritz is my go to.
Went for dinner on a late December Friday night. Good selection of drinks, cocktails, wine, beer. I had the filet and crab cake plate (to try both) and both were fantastic. The potatoes that came with it were amazing. We stayed for dessert and that was great too. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere is clean and fun. Highly recommend!
thank you jules everything was amazing !!! the whole team is awesome food is always really good whatever we get
Recently came in before the Ravens' night game for dinner. Sometimes, I come after Ubering at the end of my day or a day off from the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC). Most times, I walk from my apartment up the street at the Berkleigh. My food is always scrumptious, and the service is always top-notch. However, the employees don't recognize me if I change my hairstyle or look slightly different. I haven't come for Brunch yet, but I will soon. Thank you for the awesome atmosphere in our community!
Great ambiance, customer service and loved the food selection.
We are regulars at Michael’s as we go every Sunday for brunch after church. Went for New Year’s eve and they really did a nice job. The food was outstanding , the bread delicious and they set up a nice area to take pics. We had a great time
The experience was great. The waiter was very friendly and attentive. The 🍸 were good, the food was excellent. My burger, was cooked very good nice and hot. The price was also great. I would visit Michael's in Middle River again soon.
Second time here in the past week. We really enjoyed our sandwiches earlier in the week and decided to come back for some more. Megan D was our waitress both times and did an amazing job. She suggested the specials tonight. Prime Rib, lollipop lamb with shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops. Drinks, food, service… amazing
Phenomenal food and service this place is an all around pleasure to eat at. Some of the best grilled octopus I’ve had, everything was fresh, made with care, and so good. They were especially welcoming to one of our party that has accessibility needs which was greatly appreciated. From the hostess to the server and gm just a delightful experience all around!
I had a great experience at Michael's Cafe. The waiter was friendly and attentive, the drinks were good, and the food really impressed me. My burger came out hot and cooked just right, and the prices felt very reasonable for the quality. I’ll definitely be back again soon.
I came to Michaels cafe to watch football and have dinner/drinks with my friend. We had a great time! The atmosphere and drinks were perfection. What made the whole experience even better was our server Megan. She was so attentive, positive, and everything you would want in a server. Plus, she gave us great menu suggestions and answered all of our questions. We had a great time, we will definitely return!
Came here for our Valentine’s Day dinner with zero expectations. From the ambiance to the food and customer service they absolutely blew it out of the water. Our waiter Maddie had great recommendations and the valentine day specials were 10/10. Will absolutely be back.
We had a fantastic experience at Michael’s Restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared—every bite was spot on. A special shoutout to Jules, who was incredibly attentive and truly great. Jules made sure everything was perfect, checked in at just the right times, and added a warm, welcoming touch that made the meal even better. Excellent food, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We had a great time! Our server Maddie was super attentive, kind and made sure everything was perfect! Amazing food and an even better experience! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The staff was welcoming and the atmosphere was perfect. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to and recommending to others.
The food was amazing! The vibe was awesome!! Our server Mattie was superb! Just a reminder if you stay there after 8pm a 15% - 20% gratitude is automatically add to your bill. However we will definitely come back!
Michael’s cafe feels like an extension of our home. The staff is always so warm and welcoming and always try to get us seated. They have a great seating area our youngest can child at. They go above and beyond! Always a great time!
The food was amazing. We had risotto, crab cakes, crab imperial, and ribs. The serving sizes were satisfying. Everyone was pleased. I had the best special old fashioned ever!! Service was great. The chef and owned both came around to see if we were pleased. Very nice. Hopping bar too.
I had dinner here with family a few nights ago. I got a filet mignon with a side salad and a side of vegetables. My steak was perfect. Everyone else enjoyed the food as well. The service was good and the atmosphere was really nice. We are new to this area, but we will definitely make this a regular place to go out for a nice dinner.
10/13/2025. Dinner. Megan D was our server and was thoroughly familiar with the menu and fully answered our many questions about ingredients, preparation methods and gluten free options. The big menu hits of the night, aside from the stellar service, were the Peruvian Chicken and the Rockfish Nicholas (i.e. striped bass). The menu is varied enough to accommodate most any taste preference and everything we had was very well prepared and delicious. We ate around 6pm in a booth at the bar so the old man could keep one eye on the B-ball playoff game and the background noise did not interfere with our (sometimes intense) conversation. This was our 3rd trip to Michael's for dinner and/or brunch and it never disappoints.
The food here is great . The salmon is my favorite. Lela is so great when I come. She makes nice drinks and have great conversation with her customer service. One of my reasons why this is my favorite restaurant . <3
Melissa B. and Jason were awesome! Prompt service without being overbearing and they were both very personable and knowledgeable. Overall, it was a very comfortable experience while still maintaining the upscale atmosphere. Perfect, and I can’t wait to come back.
Me and my wife come here once or twice a month foods always good, service is always on time. Tonight we had another great experience. Also our server Megan was awesome. Gratuity is the best way to show your server they made your experience that much better.
I have been going here since the opened. This place is good. The service has improved so much at the bar and throughout. They seem to be working as a good team the last couple times I have been in. Good food, good portions, and amazing ice cream. It's solid but doesn't hit that amazing mark for me.
Delicious food , great service and I love the decor. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be back!
We went to Michael’s for brunch with a party of 8 including 3 children. We ordered a big variety of options from the menu including the muscles, chicken and waffles, pancakes, yogurt parfait, salad, tuna tartare and appetizers like the crab dip and the pancake bacon. It was all delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch!
Let me be clear: I liked it and I'll be back! I'll quickly cover the cons and then the overwhelming pros. The cons: 1. The scrambled eggs were undercooked. Next time, I'll be clear that I want them "scrambled hard." 2. The Seafood club was so-so. With crab, shrimp, and bacon, I thought it was going to be a "home run." I'm not sure I'd get it again. The pros: 1. Super friendly hostess. It set the tone immediately. 2. The atmosphere and ambiance is bright and airy with a modern design. It felt intimate while being bright (which is hard to do). 3. The French Toast (plain; didn't try the "Cereal French Toast" was quite tasty. 4. The truffle-parmesan fries are FANTASTIC. These are some of the best French fries I've ever had. The outside was crispy with the soft warm inside. Their truffle-parmesan seasoning is out-of-this-world. I'd come back just for those fries.
My wife and I decided to go to Michael's and splurge before the Christmas cooking frenzy. We started with the burrata which was quite tasty. We had the Filet Mignon $53 and I had the Half-Rack ribs with a crab cake $33. Both dishes were quite delicious and came out as ordered. Kudos to the bartender for a perfect Negroni. The only drawback was cold sweet potato fries. Special thanks to Joel our server for exceptional service.
My overall order is leaving me with mixed feelings. So I’ll just rate them individually. Whistle Manhattan: 10/10 strong and very flavorful. I’m not sure what was in the drink that melted and gave a coffee taste, but it was very good. Pub Wings: 6/10 I forgot the name of the yellow sauce it the wings were just okay. Brisket hash: 3/10 the potatoes and eggs came out perfect, but quarrels with the meal is how tough and crunchy the brisket was. The barbecue sauce was flavorful but could not redeem the dried out brisket. Eggs with cheese: 0/10 scrambled no seasoning and 2 slices of cheese were tossed on top. I’m giving 3 stars because all thought my brisket was dry, customer service and the rest of my meal was still decent. The customer service was really the saving grace.
So Friday I woke up craving shrimp and grits. I live in Harford County and I didn’t think I could find a place near me with delicious shrimp and grits. I googled shrimp and grits near me and the first thing that popped up was Bar Louie White marsh so that’s where I went. Bar Louie whitemarsh was a horrifying experience from start to finish. First I get there only to find out they recently changed their menu and are no longer offering shrimp and grits. I could’ve cried. Instead I googled to find another place near where I could get shrimp and grits near me. Micheal’s Cafe whitemarsh middle river popped up and I went there. Luckily they did offer shrimp and grits. My waitress was way better than the waitress at Bar Louie but not great. I’d give her a 7/10. I was torn between a Wild West or an Old Fashion drink. She helped me choose the old fashion and I must say it was superb. I’d give the drink a 10/10. The drink was the highlight of the restaurant. The bar tender deserves a raise in my opinion. My second drink was a patron margarita and that was good a solid 8/10. I ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters as my appetizer and they were delicious. They were fresh and honestly I should’ve just order a pound as my main dish. The complimentary bread and butter tasted god awful. That was the first time I turned a carb down. The shrimp and grits unfortunately also were disgusting. This was a very tragic situation. It didn’t taste seasoned or like the chef tried. However, I will say it was plated beautifully. All in all I’d rate my experience here a 5/10 for the shrimp and grits. I left here and actually cried. I tried to eat a shrimp just because I love shrimp and the shrimp was so bad I spit it out in a napkin and left it on the table. I actually left all my food on the table paid, tipped and left. I didn’t ask for a manager or send the food back I just left and cried. I felt robbed honestly $100 for oysters and an old fashion? Well the old fashion was delightfully delicious. I’d go back here just to eat oysters and sit at the bar. I wouldn’t eat anything other than the oysters. I’ll add a photo of my table when I left the restaurant with all the food there.
Michael’s, Michael’s, Michael’s, where shall I begin? I took my mom and my mother-in-law here for Mother’s Day lunch. There was no wait we were seated immediately. Our waitress came over within a reasonable amount of time we order appetizers and drinks that came out in a timely manner. Our waitress was very hospitable and nice, we sat at a four top part booth part pullout chair, to our horror, the table kept toppling over anytime we leaned on it. Nonetheless, we ordered drinks. They were fine. We proceeded to order entrées, we all got the crab imperial and we all opted for the spinach as a side dish. Unfortunately, the spinach was disgusting. It was not completely cooked, very very chewy and to add insult to injury, it didn’t have any flavor. We brought this to the attention of our server and requested a replacement side dish to which we were told that there were a few sides that we could substitute, but if we wanted other sides there would be a two dollar charge per side. Of course, we asked to speak to the manager, who then came over excuse my French, but looking kind of dumbfounded, we explained the situation and she began to reiterate that she could only replace our sides if we paid the two dollars per side. I told her that that is not how it was explained to us per the server, and that in all my years of dining, I’ve never heard a restaurant say anything like this, probably because it’s ridiculous…had we not been satisfied without our entrées, would we have been expected to pay a surcharge to have something else bought out that was to our liking? So after the three of us attempted to explain to her why we should not have to pay two dollars when the spinach is gross. She then offered to take the tasteless spinach back and cook it more. 😩 At the end of this little debate session, she decided to offer us ONLY brussels sprouts as a replacement for no charge. My mom and my mother-in-law were over it and they had decided that they didn’t want anything else from Michael’s at that point. I told her to bring them, hey I like brussel sprouts! Interestingly, she brought out one gigantic plate of brussels sprouts that were almost burnt to a crisp. There were a few on the plate that were actually edible. The rest of them were so crunchy, They were like potato chips on the outside. (see photo) At that point I was completely over it! 😠 the waitress horrified by what we just experienced, offered to pay for our desserts. We asked for them to go in a hurry to just get out of there, only to get the bill and see that she had only comped one dessert, and the burnt brussels sprouts 🤔 Needless to say, I will never recommend anyone to go here, we will not return…ever! And they should probably do some type of remedial training with their staff and management teams to make sure that Customer Service is a top priority for without customers there is no business.
The food and service was mediocre. The NY strip steak I got was too charred on the outside, leaving a burnt taste in my mouth - the steak was medium well, not medium rare as I ordered. Priced at $53 with no sides, this dish is totally not worth it. My wife got the short rib, which was, again, mediocre. The seasoning was monotone and not well balanced - tasted like a powdered gravy mix. Not worth the price. The waitress was not attentive or friendly.
I used to enjoy Michael's until going there recently for lunch. They restructured their brunch menu so that it's all you can order from until 3pm. The problem is that most of this menu is egg dishes and sandwiches with low-cost ingredients that still sit in the $20-$30 range per meal. This is clearly a cost cutting measure and makes lunch here feel like a rip-off. I got the crab cake appetizer and for the cost, the amount of crab was comically small, even with the price of crabs being what it is. The quality of the food, atmosphere, and service is generally very good, but after eating here most recently it felt like I was being ripped-off.
Great food overall — Burrata, Caprese Chicken, and Peruvian Chicken were excellent. But the kids’ tenders and fries tasted like frozen store-bought, and the manager didn’t take them off the bill. Disappointing service on that part.
While visiting the area, I wanted to try some local crabcakes. Unfortunately, the quality was very disappointing. The crabcakes tasted comparable to what you might find at a basic fast-food seafood chain, which made the pricing hard to justify. Being charged $30 per crabcake, and $60 for just two crabcakes on a plate with no sides, was surprising given the overall quality. Service was also lacking. The soup and entrée were brought out at the same time, and service throughout the meal was slow and inattentive. For a place advertising “Maryland crabcakes,” the experience fell far short of expectations. The restaurant feels more like an overpriced, rebranded chain than a destination for quality seafood. Recommendation: I would not return or recommend this restaurant.
This supposed “upscale” restaurant is trash. The food is spotty at best. Oh and buyers beware of their 20% gratuity on all bills after 8pm. My wife and I were looking for an enjoy meal but found the exact opposite. Management was about as useful as a dirty bar rag. Very flip and non carrying. We will be happy to never visit this location again. If you’re considering this “spot,” I suggest you reconsider.
I have visited this restaurant several times while traveling on business. I have gone for brunch, dinner, and New Year's Eve (bringing in the new year). No major complaints with the food. However, during my recent visits this year, I noticed some changes. A manager and a phenomenal server (Steven) who both contributed to a great experience in the past are no longer there. Naturally, I asked about the previous manager because the new manager on duty didn’t come across as friendly, welcoming, or attentive. Each time I’ve visited lately, this manager would make rounds to certain tables and patrons at the bar, then disappear. From fast food to fine dining, a simple greeting from management goes a long way — it sets the tone for the experience. Unfortunately, that warmth and acknowledgment were missing with the current manager. Others in my party noticed it as well. Customer service shouldn’t feel forced, but at the managerial level, it should be a top priority. Great leaders lead by example. Driving over half an hour to dine somewhere and not even be acknowledged doesn’t exactly make you feel welcome or eager to return.
