A wonderful way to travel into the past in a pristine location, filled with mystique and inquiry into the locations past. Rooms are very nice and service top notch. Will return!
What a place! A fantastic location with wonderful food. A unique experience. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny.
A real medieval castle, not a Disney-copy style, where you can enjoy a culinary experience with traditional Piedmont recipes, marvelously executed. You will be surprised by the menu... A really "heavy" one.... never seen something like that !
We went to this beautiful castle for lunch and had a great experience. We were seated in our own private room, which made the atmosphere feel special and intimate. The service was excellent, the waiters were very presentable, polite, and elegant. I had the ravioli and they were a-ma-zing! Honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had. The castle itself has several different dining rooms, and depending on the size of your group, you might get your own private space too. They also offer rooms to stay overnight, and only guests who stay there can visit the castle interiors. The courtyard is really nice as well. Would definitely return!
Beautiful experience spread in time. The architecture of the Castello belongs to a Portugese architect who bought and designed this place so beautiful with a unique style, that you want to go back and see it again and again. The wife of the architect was from Medici family that’s why many assume it’s Medici castle. I’ve only came for a restaurant for couple of times and always have been more than satisfied by an amazing refined ambience and food. Choice of best wines is there of course. Interesting experience to fulfil your aesthetic as well as gastronomic tastes.
We stayed here for one night. Interesting experience for sure. Feeling inspired when walking around the castle in the evening through medieval decorations
I had my unforgettable wedding celebration at this fantastic place with my family and my friends coming all over the world. Big thanks to the management team - Eva and her staffs for the impeccable service! We had such a wonderful and dreamy long weekend with you. And the whole arrangement through video calls and email exchanges was handled professionally. The food was excellent and I couldn’t believe how good the pizza was! I would highly recommend this hotel to any other couple who are looking for a down-to-earth yet charming and lovely castle for some special occasions.
We reserved a table at the restaurant for our dinner. We were so impressed with the castle, from the entrance to the table. We were just sorry we didn’t have with us a suitable outfit 😅. The service was very professional and the food was very very good. The only thing that I would change, it’s the timing between dishes (I think it’s a bit too long). Keep in mind that the prices are in the high range but it deserves every penny.
We just had lunch on a Sunday a little pricey but was amazing to be in a castle and the food vegetarian for both of us we very good We look forward to visit g for the whole night and dinner breakfast package Again soon It’s like being in a movie set !!! We wanted to stay that night as it’s seemed a perfect way to finish the meal but sadly it was not open The Only thing we think was not in keeping was that there was plastic flowers on the table 😂
Close your eyes picture a crennulated castle cut into the stone of foothills of the alps rising up to a moonlit sky as clouds sailed past. Grand rooms attentive staff wonderful food and wine. It's just a fantasy come true. I am woefully under stating the charm.
My wife and I stayed over here over last weekend for a wedding. It was truly superb. The staff were kind and competent, the food was great, the castle itself amazingly well preserved. The rooms are actually the castle's rooms, they have not been modernized as to not rip out the soul of the place. So why 4 stars instead of 5? Well, because, as often, there are little details that aren't perfect. The aeration system in the bathroom wasn't working properly. Our room had a door opening to a balcony, but no window (and we couldn't get the AC to work). The room and bathroom were both impeccably clean, but, shower curtains in 2022? Really? The tiles in the bathroom were gorgeous, but chipped in spots, and the drain of the bidet was slightly rusty. The price isn't the issue, we can afford it, but I feel you should not have these kind of issues present in any room in such a venue. Overall since we didn't spend a long time in the room at all and the wedding itself was perfect, the experience was great, but for longer stays the rooms ought to be maintained better.
This castle is definitively a beautiful historical place. My comment relates to the restaurant and the meeting room for conferences. Beside that the place is wonderful I believe that some of the equipments and furnitures needs to be replaced. I am thinking about the chairs, screen and projector in the conference room as well as some equipment in the bathroom and toilets. The restaurant is really nice both for the environment and for the food with a good option of local wines.
This is a beautiful castle that is not really equipped to be a full service accommodation. This location contains only a few bedrooms, a dinner room, a breakfast room, and a small lobby and seating area. Most of the advertised activities are off-site through other companies. It is a castle with only a very small explorable area. There may be more that we didn’t see, but they want you to buy the tour for that. Not accessible at all. 20+ steps up to the front door and assistance with luggage only available at certain times. Do not recommend for mobility impaired visitors. The bedroom was clean, but still carpeted and old, as you might expect for an old castle. Not great for allergies. Not a very comfortable bed. AC was ok but not very strong. Wifi is very unreliable. Comes and goes in the room and not sufficient for video calls. Sitting in the lobby was a bit better but still not recommended if you need to work. Food was good, not amazing, with a somewhat limited menu. Breakfast was nice, buffet style with coffee drinks made fresh. I was appreciative of the multiple gluten free options. Customer service was a mixed bag. Some nice people, but others not so much. When we encountered issues, such as a rainstorm soaking multiple feet of carpet through our balcony door, the response from a front desk employee was just “it will dry”. Most of the entertainment in the area we found on our own exploration. Ivrea is a somewhat interesting small city nearby, while Lake Sirio is a great way to spend an afternoon with several restaurants, lounging areas, and swimming. Overall we were glad we visited, but wish we had spent most of our time in a more comfortable accommodation. I would recommend only coming for a dinner or tour. If you stay, make it just 1 night for the novelty, then move to another full-service accommodation.
The fish was perfectly cooked and the staff was friendly and helpful. The tartar was not great. Leaned pretty hard on the intense anchovy sauce. The castle is beautiful, but the management had decided to add a giant tacky sign visible from the highway to their amazing building. Inside the beautiful dining room, they had ugly plastic flowers, and other accents that were in bad taste.
Our group visited the restaurant at Castello di Pavone during a business trip, and unfortunately the dining experience was extremely disappointing. The food was far below the standard one would expect in Piemonte, a region known for its outstanding culinary tradition. We were served cold starters consisting of overly salty cakes and a few pieces of cheese. The first course was a plain bean soup, followed by pork ribs as the main dish. None of these dishes represented authentic Piemontese cuisine, and the quality was simply poor. Everything felt carelessly prepared and served in a very non-elegant way. The wine, which appeared to be homemade, was also of very low quality and unpleasant to drink. It’s a shame, because the castle itself is absolutely stunning—beautifully maintained, atmospheric, and truly romantic. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not live up to the setting. The experience came across as a tourist-oriented offering lacking authenticity and value, which was very disappointing. Castello di Pavone is worth visiting for its architecture and ambience, but I cannot recommend it for the food.
I’m sorry the air conditioning is broken. How about changing our room? (We came off season, we were the only guests). All the air conditions are broken. Really? In ALL 20 rooms that have independent units? Shame on you! You call that service?! And of course they haven’t bothered to open and air the room - hot, bar stench permeating.
