Amarone

Really tasty food, and great staff. The calamari starter was perfectly done, light batter, perfectly cooked and delicious. The bruschetta was great too, delicious cherry tomatoes and high quality olive oil. The mains were the same high quality, a delicious lasagne and a gorgeous millefoglie di verdure with goats cheese.

Found this place while we were wandering around not knowing what to eat. The atmosphere was very lovely and classic. We had lamb and Lasagne with Today's wine. Lamb was very tender and delicious and so was Lasagne. Wine was amazing

We had a lovely lunch there. All four of us were extremely satisfied with our food. We picked different dishes from their menu. Fantastic food, nice place. Highly recomended.

Amazing seafood platter and steak! We had great atmosphere looking out onto the street and it was a very authentic Italian restaurant. Service was also great.

We decided to contact Raffaele, the manager at Amarone to host our wedding in Bath. From our very first meeting and up until the actual day there was excellent communication resulting in the most wonderful menu creations presenting an incredible afternoon and evening of beautiful charcuterie, starters, mains and the most beautiful cake which was gluten-free to facilitate one of our guests. Nothing was out of the question or too much trouble for Raffaele or his team throughout the whole day. We took over the whole of the top floor for the day and left with appetites sated and memories complete. I cannot praise Amarone enough. We shall continue to dine here whenever in Bath, and as we reside in Frome, that's pretty often.

We had the most wonderful lunch here for my 50th birthday last week. We were attended to by Marian, who could not do enough for us. We even had complimentary limencello and ice cream for the birthday girl! The food was amazing, particularly the fish stew which had the the most generous serving of fish. The wine was also delicious. All in all, I would highly recommend and we will be back on our next trip to Bath. Thank you x

Really lovely restaurant with very tasty food! The service is excellent too. I have been a couple times and the quality is just fantastic. I had beef Ragu and my partner had the Carbonara and both dishes were very good!

Next time I visit Bath, I will come straight here to eat. The food was delicious, Carbonara cooked just as it should be & the Ragu was superb. The prosecco was pure nectar, so I had to have a second 😉 The Hazelnut Gelato & Raspberry Sorbetto were the perfect end to a perfect meal. I loved this restaurant. The pictures on the walls were of my idols (Elvis, Sinatra, Grace Kelly, Jean Simmons amongst them) & the music was just delightful. All the staff were exceptional, especially Niall, who really looked after us. This vintage gal had the best time & will be back for sure! ❤️

Lovely meal before visiting the theatre next door. Excellent value early bird menu, attentive staff and most importantly delicious food. Recommended best to book. Update July 22 had a nice meal last night, but now only a la carte menu available not pre theatre special as before. So be warned £160 for 4 people is not the great value it was previously.

Absolutely incredible experience here, I had the carbonara and my mum had the 15 layer lasagne. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Not to mention the most tasty bruschetta we have ever had. Service was perfect and the atmosphere was second to none. Will definitely be coming back! Thank you all for your wonderful service!

The food was to die for!!! The waitress (From Modena) was a delight!!… not crowded and the Italian pop music (Zucchero, Ramazotti and Andrea Bochelli) added to a very pleasant experience… we will be back Cristoforo…Marian…Sue… Alan

We had dinner here with my partner and absolutely loved it. The food was authentic and full of flavor — everything tasted freshly made, from the pasta to the desserts. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic, and the staff were really friendly and attentive.

Very enjoyable meal with friends in this great restaurant. Food very good. Impressive maitre d' who kept his eye on everything and everyone, running a very efficient and friendly team. Highly recommended.

I recently had a dinning at Amarone, from the moment I walked in the atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel at home. The food was outstanding, the tagliatelle bolognese was rich and full of flavor.

I couldn’t say for sure that I’ve had a better Italian in the UK. This place is up there. We had the Seafood pasta and the Milanese. Two classics that are done everywhere, but you won’t find them done better than here. (Which is the mark for me). And a great wine list. Of course you must have a lovely Amarone. We had the 2013 Zenato. Top marks all round.

We were saved from mediocre pizza and pasta at nearby restaurants. We didn’t have a reservation, but they welcomed is like family. I had rigatoni Genoese, a slow covered beef pasta that was absolutely devine. My picky eight year old son had penne pasta with butter and he even asked for a second portion, which he never does that at home. A big thanks to Niall who delivered incredibly great service and dining recommendations. Raffa ( the manager) made sure that everything was perfectly made to order. Amira was friendly and on the spot wherever we needed anything. My only regret is only having one stomach and I couldn’t eat anymore.

Used to visit this place with my parents and the food was always incredible, so when I was back in Bath with my husband- I wanted to see if it held up. It does! Beautiful food, and wonderful service from Raff and Amira. The Barolo beef ravioli was fantastic, all portions generous and wonderfully mixed drinks. We will be back next time we are in town. We booked last minute for a birthday meal and had a fantastic time. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive and polite, and the music was great. We would recommend Amarone to anyone. It was a perfect evening.

We had an absolutely fabulous evening at this Italian restaurant in Bath. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of charm. Our waiter, Niall, was exceptional—attentive without being intrusive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Amira was equally wonderful, bringing such genuine warmth and hospitality to the experience. And the food… simply exquisite. Compliments to the chef! Every dish was beautifully prepared, bursting with authentic Italian flavours, and presented with real care. It’s rare to find a place where service and cuisine shine so brightly together, but this restaurant delivers on both fronts. A truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

Food and staff amazing ! The carbonara here is absolutely exceptional! The sauce is creamy and rich without feeling heavy, and the guanciale adds the perfect salty crunch. Each bite feels comforting and indulgent. Easily one of the best carbonaras I’ve had—highly recommended!

Last minute table reservation and so happy we chose here! The food and atmosphere were outstanding but especially the staff - they were absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful! Should be more than 5 stars! Thank you for a great evening, we will be back!

The decor, atmosphere and staff were great. We ordered the charcuterie board to start which was beautifully presented and delicious. We opted for the house red wine which was a little too dry and acidic for my taste but I don't really know much about wine. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese which is why I can't give them 5 stars; the taste was very bland, it wasn't in edible but it wasn't really enjoyable. My partner ordered the Lasagne which tasted really good.

Quick service, friendly attentive staff. Good food and filling. Just walked in, I didn't have to book considering it's handy location right in the centre. Had a few customers and a real Italian feel to it.

Nice ambient vibes. Perfect for romantic dinner. The food is really tasty and good portion size. There is a good selection of wine and desserts were really good. The only thing I did not expect was how long it took for the food to arrive. We were only able to order the desserts few minutes after their closing hours, despite being there from 8:30. Recommend that you go there nice and early so you are not rushed and can enjoy the food

The food was great, but a warning for the dessert: I ordered a chocolate cannolo that was ... Very spicy ! Perhaps I didn't read the menu properly but I was quite surprised by the combo of bitter chocolate and spicy sauce, it ruined the dessert for me. The risotto however was delicious, smooth and balanced, creamy but not mushy, would order again! Service was great, the room decor looked a bit old and out of fashion.

Amarone in brief, is a near perfect pre- theatre dinner spot. Went for dinner here with a friend. We had the burratta and beef croquettes to start. The bursts was rich and creamy, and I thoroughly enjoyed the aubergine and pine nut base. It can be very tiring just having it served on a bed of salad with a few tomatoes. Points for uniqueness. The beef croquettes were crispy and meaty. I would have liked them to appear more cylindrical, as currently they look more like aranchini balls. For my main I had the Rigatoni all’Amatriciana which was enjoyable. It had a nice strong salty pork flavour via the guancale, which was balanced by the white cream sauce. Pasta was cooked to perfection. I think the let down here is not with the food or the service, but the decor. I think the room is a bit dark, and I also think the photos of Elvis etc are a bit out of place in an Italian. Right next door to the theatre, so great for pre theatre dinner.

Came here for early dinner before concert. Online booking was easy but couldn’t see menu so did it a bit blind. Reception was very nice with a lovely room and ambience. Good selection of wines and food. Wines at £25 and above, main courses £15 and above. We had octopus and olives for starters and received one octopus tentacle. Main course was duck and cod fillet with a bottle of Soave. All of the food was very good quality and tasted lovely, but the portions were not large. Overall the cost for 2 courses plus bottle of wine came to £90, so not cheap, but still, very good

I don’t remember who served me but she was so lovely and attentive. I did notice all the staff were very friendly and kind. I had a carbonara which was so tasty and a very interesting cannoli. Lovely spot and would happily return.

-The place is cozy, all decorated with old time Hollywood stars, located in the heart of Bath, ambien music, clean and tidy place. - The staff is kind, attentive and friendly at all times. -The quality of the food is good, fresh and tasty. -The prices are acceptable ###Needs to improve: -Between the first and the second dish the waiting time is too much. -The sizes of the portions are quite petty for what is expected from an Italian restaurant. All the Latin mediterranean food culture is well known for serving abundant quantity in the dish, not represented here. ***Concluding, it is a restaurant that I recommend, but certainly can improve. Not recommended if you are a greedy person who likes generous and plentiful dishes, lean back in the chair and unbutton a trouser button and feel really full and satisfied at the end of the meal.

At most a 3.5/5 for me. Firstly it's a really nice restaurant, great atmosphere and friendly staff. But, the food was quite salty to my liking and I've tasted better Italian food.

The food was extremely disappointing especially for such an expensive restaurant. £20 pounds for a mushroom pasta? I expect it to be pasta Fresca and delicious. The pasta had no salt and it was simply mushrooms and pasta - tasteless. Nothing was incredible in this restaurant for such an expensive price. We also ordered the lasagna. Everything was plain.

Tiny main meal portions for the price, plus under seasoned. Took ages to be seated (we were completely ignored), then wrong wine came, then wrong starter. Appreciate they were busy. Then our mains arrived and they were tiny. My husbands pasta was so undercooked (more than al dente, it had hard bits), had no flavour at all and was a tiny portion. The staff did work quickly to rectify and provide a new dish (also limited seasoning) and took it off our bill. Good points - Dessert was good and they cater for gluten free. Overall disappointed, given previous stand out reviews

Really nice people but honestly it was a rip off. Two basic meals and one bottle of water was 71 pounds. What kinda bugged me was we were charged 5 lbs for two teaspoons of parm cheese for the meals my gf and I ordered (and we weren’t asked or told about the up charge), that just feels like they are gouging. I had the “15 layer lasagne” that was more like 3 layers haha. It was tasty but a really small thin portion. Anyways I agree with other reviewers that this was seriously overpriced.

It was the last time we dine in this restaurant. The bologna spaghetti was okay, but the king prawns risotto was the most disgusting in my life!! I’ve never tasted the shrimp taste like that; it was not fresh and had an Armonia smell!!!! We told the waiters about the shrimp problem, but they insisted shrimp were fresh. We were speechless because it was impossible for the fresh shrimp had a stale smell. In addition, the food presentation they served for customers was different from their official photos. The shrimp was smaller than their official pictures. And the service was not friendly and arrogant. It was the worse dining experience in Bath.
