Quality and friendly vendors. Had coffee, tasted and bought wine, and bought bakery. So clean throughout. We were visiting from Rockford, IL where an indoor City Mkt just opened. Hoping it will morph into one similar to Bay City.
If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. There are many vendors who sell a large variety of products. There is a lot of fresh produce at very reasonable prices. They have fish, meat, and eggs. Many of these products seem to be from Michigan. They also have stands which sell coffee, ice cream, cupcakes, smoothies, cinnamon rolls, etc. They have places to sit and eat, and they have a cafe. The vendors are knowledgeable about their products. If you ask them about their products, they have answers for you. We will likely be returning here to our purchase groceries!
This place is awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and "That Guy's BBQ & Grill" has an excellent brisket sandwich and "Replenish" made a delicious peanut butter/banana smoothie. It's the best place in Bay City to grab a quick/healthy lunch or fresh foods to cook at home.
This is a weekly stop. Great selection of essential oils, baked goods, cheesecake, Mexican food and fresh foods. The taco salad is a must. Very clean facilities and excellent service. One of my favorite places in Bay City.
I have yet to visit all of the vendors, but the ones that I have visited, I have become a repeat shopper. I do not live locally and will make special trips to the area, just to purchase products from vendors that I cannot find in my own area. My favorite vendors are Those Nature People Herb Haus and Cabana Soaps. Thank you, City Market!
Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bay City or from the area. This place is wonderful for relaxation, with an upbeat atmosphere! Have fun shopping, enjoy great coffee, and more. When you buy there, you also support local businesses!
What a great place to shop. They have everything from coffee to food to vegetables. There are shops that have jewelry and essential oils. If you're visiting Bay City, you don't want to miss this gem.
I went to wrappin and rolling and got 2 wraps. My daughter and I love them. We are already picking out which one we're getting next. It's a huge bargain. We got 2 fully packed wraps and a huge amount of chips and a pickle for under $20. I have enough left for later.
The City Market is a great place to go and try some local foods and products. They have really kept the place up and have well established vendors there. There are sweets, meats, fish, organic foods, wine, tex mex, pizza, teas, and much more. There is also a kids play area, which allows adults to relax and eat or hang out while their kids get rid of some energy and meet some new friends. The facility is clean and has parking all around it.
Stopped by Say Cheese and tried the seasonal option (triple mushroom grilled cheese). The sandwich was easily the best grilled cheese I have had on my life. I actually had to go back into the market to personally thank the owners and leave a second tip!
Awesome place. Bought smoothie from Replenish. Elaine's and Best Darn Cookies. The new Tex Mex smelled fantastic. Plenty of places to sit down.
The feel in here reminds me more of Ann Arbor and less Bay City. There are a lot of neat speacialty stores and restaurants. The stores are best for gifts and buying organic products. If you are stuggling to buy a gift for someone this is the place. I'm fond of the affordable natural Stone/gem jewelry at Those Nature People, and the food at Tex-Mex. Tex-Mex is open outside of the Market's normal hours. City Market is a nonprofit that sponsors nutrition and health related workshops for the public.
This place is to die for! It taste exactly like a home cooked meal. I ordered the full rack of ribs and they fell off the bone. They were delicious just like the cheesy potatoes. This was by far the best place to eat in Bay City.
City Market downtown is a good way to support local. Get all the little things you are looking for to finish Christmas shopping and have fun doing it. Lunch or dinner are available and all in one location.
City Market has something for everyone! New York Style Pizza, BBQ, Mexican, and a new Wrap place are the four cornerstone shops, with two delicious salad shops, a juice bar, and plenty of locally baked treats like cheesecake, cookies, and pastries! Modern Craft wine has $5 tastings, Brewtopia Coffee is always delicious, and Hip Syrups offers natural flavorings. You can also purchase fresh vegetables and fruits at the Harvest Store, and locally produced dry goods at the Pantry! They host kitchen demos and special events throughout the year, and have a play space for little ones. Although some of their items may be pricey (consistent with quality), I can easily spend just $20 and get lunch for myself and all 3 kids plus a treat! This is a must visit spot for out of town guests, and a great way to fuel a day shopping downtown or visiting Wirt Library across the street.
City Market has a great variety of locally produced goods. Wonderful selection of area restaurants. Nice place to do some basic grocery shopping and grab meal afterwards.
Love the City Market! Such a great addition to the downtown Bay City area. Cute lil vendors Mexican, pizza, bbq, baked goods, fresh produce, deli apothecary, soaps, wine, etc..something for everyone
No other! Service, food, all great! Great local family business.
Just an amazing market with wonderful people! I'm so sad to hear this market will be closing what a tragic loss to the good people of Bay City! I really hope people rally and reopen this beautiful place!
Friendly vendors eager to help. Thursday evening sale at That Guy's Meats and we picked a cantaloupe and a watermelon and autumn berry preserves. The produce and products available are tantalizing.
Great selection for the size of the market. A really cool idea where local vendors can sell their own products in a setting that is similar to a big-city public market.
My favorite BBQ go to! Greg, his family, and staff put their heart and soul into everything they make. Can’t wait to have our reception catered, it’s going to be amazing!!!
Not only is the food top quality, but sometimes I have dreams about that mustard sauce they make and have bottled! Always a delight to have bbq cravings met and expectations exceeded when stopping by.
Plenty of cute shops and eateries! Great atmosphere and people! Something for everyone! Well worth the trip, I recommend to locals and visitors!
Absolutely awesome !!!! This gem has all kinds of good stuff scattered around.... the bbq is amazing!!! Didnt have time to explore much but am already looking forward to going back... give it a try....two thumbs up
If you want a one-stop shop for local businesses and products, look no further. This is a wonderful addition to the community, and the future of Bay City looks bright from inside here. (Shout out to Devout Sprout for delicious, healthy, and CHEAP options, perfect for lunch.)
Great place for some interesting culinary finds. Flowers, wines, cheeses, cheesecake, vegan food, and then some
"That Guys Bbq" has a HUGE challenge. It is so good. I just stumbled across and wasn't even prepared but still almost killed it. For comparison I can palm a basketball.
Love this place. Just got the "Up Beet" juice from the juice and smoothie vendor. Amazing!! Great stuff at the market.

The staff was nice. The chicken sandwich was kinda dry but the flavor of their sauces was delicious and about 6 different ones to choose from. I would eat there again! I also tried the jerky at their other counter "That Guys Meats" and it was amazing! The gentlemen behind the counter was quite friendly and answered any questions I had. I'll definitely go there again too!
I was so excited to go to City Market for the first time today with my Family visiting from Utah. I have been following For The Love of Cheesecake on Facebook for months and finally got to stop in. We got to taste 4 different cheesecakes! It was sooooo good! Great first visit!
That Guy's BBQ delivered an exceptional experience for my retirement celebration! The meats were flavorful and tender, complemented perfectly by their delicious sauces. Their mouthwatering sides rounded out a truly impressive meal, and the generous portions ensured everyone left satisfied. Greg and his team delivered right on time, making our special day even better. I wholeheartedly recommend That Guy's BBQ for any event where you want outstanding food and reliable service!
I personally reached out to Greg about our wedding night in a panic trying to find a confident caterer that could handle what we needed. That guys barbecue provided everything I could have asked for. Greg and his team dealt with their truck breaking down and still packed everything in their own vehicle to ensure that everyone at our party was not only fed, but raved about how delicious the food was. I was promised an unforgettable experience by "a guy that just likes to cook food" and there was no chance of disappointment. I couldn't be more thankful!
That Guys BBQ is AMAZING!! I have no words on how accommodating he was. He went above and beyond for our special wedding day. The catering was amazing, every guest had something positive to say regarding the food. We recommend this family business 100%!
Thank you for the excellent brisket and various BBQ sauces! The beef jerky was also amazing - It lasted all of 10 minutes! The brisket was tender, flavorful, moist, and the seasoning was excellent! And equally important is that you are fairly priced! I will be using you again in the future and I highly recommend your BBQ to all that read this review! I live in Texas and you know that we are BBQ snobs - you did not disappoint....pure dwliciousness!
Simply the BEST pulled chicken and pork I have ever had. And I've tried them all! Our whole company felt the same when they catered the Dow LPGA event! Just perfection.
I really enjoy coming here. All of the food that the vendors sell is incredibly fresh and tasty. So many unique items in there as well. Always worth the trip. I especially love That Guys butcher shop. The cuts of meat and homemade brats are the best.
Any time I'm in town, we make a point to go here. The wraps are delicious, the smoked whitefish and salmon dip in INCREDIBLE, all local vendors, all smiling faces (you can even tell under a mask). They keep the city moving and grooving and we appreciate them so much! Just wish we lived closer!

Fun spot. Lots of choices for drinks, snacks, lunch and treats. Welcoming atmosphere. Organic and locally grown/produced options galore! Nice areas to sit, eat, visit & watch all the goings on.
All the convenience, goodies, surprises, and organic vendors you need in a city stroll. Right downtown, accross from the librairy. Stop for a coffee, vegetables for dinner, snacks, or a gift from health and apothecary store. Seasonal items are beautiful. Fresh flowers too.
The cookies were delicious! I thought $2 was kinda high but, they are big, soft and muy bueno. I also had a bacon cheeseburger burger at That Guys BBQ which was eccellent. Whoa.. i also bought some soap at Cabana Soaps from Zak. Awesome!
Very nice market nice place to stop and have a coffee and a quick look around nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon prices are little high but then again you get what you pay for gcc farms has a spot there very nice products organic foods cheese's non pasteurized milk very good cider fish turkey pork beef and plenty more without the chemicals!!
This is a unique market set up to sample a little bit of the town before the night life starts. Very quaint. Many selections of food and other goods available.

Wonderfully pleasant; clean, well stocked, a small bit pricey, however, it is a good concept of community - collection of what I call the mom & pop stores under one roof. There are some interesting products to have, health- wise.
I've been inside many of these type of markets this one tends to be the most crowded and chaotic in the Tri-Cities. It's sometimes difficult to find out where to purchase the items. Often there is no person standing at the booth you have to wander over to another booth to find out you're supposed to buy it there.I get this might be due to one owner owning multiple areas or some cooperative staffing but some signage would go a long way to clearing this up. Overall I'm glad we have one of these in Bay City and it can be fun to visit but it's not really user friendly
Have been here twice with similar experiences. Place was very very packed. Barely able to squeeze through people much less look at the different shops. Some interesting shops but they should have made larger walking space between stores for people to walk. Though there are lots of food options and unique to the area.

The Market is great, but if you're a working person, too bad. When ever you can visit we will be CLOSED. Please adjust your hours to accommodate the public , not just the unemployed.
Looks like City market is trying to turn into a regular grocery store and lose its uniqueness with a lot less shops. The vegetable market, which are owners of the city market are putting in a bunch of shelves to turn it into a regular grocery store. I say boycott them. I know I have heard of a lot of people say they are going to boycott them too. The meat market there which had great meats was kicked out. City market refused to renew their lease. I guess the vegetable stand thinks they can make more money. If I want to go to a regular store, I would go to a regular grocery store. They still advertise that they have over 20 shops in there, when in actuality all the little shops are leaving or being asked to leave so City market can expand into a regular grocery. Big mistake. The draw to the city market what's the number of little shops they used to have. There will be no value to the EBT either. One of the owners lied to me when I went in there giving me a bunch of BS about how if I use my EBT I could use part of the double to spend at the meat counter there. That's when I found out from the meat counter they were being kicked out.
We visited today for the first time. We ran into an employee from GCC Organics at The City Market in Bay City, because they have a space there. Whoever this person is, seriously should not be working with the public. She totally ignored us, as we browsed, while she was on her phone and doing her own thing. We asked her a question, only to be patronized, insulted, and ridiculed for our question. She became very argumentative and confrontational. All we wanted to do was to get as far away from her as possible, but she kept yelling at us. Needless to say, we did not purchase anything, nor would we even ever consider it after this experience. SCARY. Seriously, will probably never even go back to the City Market in Bay City because of this unfortunate and bad experience.
