The food tastes amazing, the service is great! Glad I stopped by while in town
I'm visiting from Oregon bringing my daughter to Lamar University for spring term. Always looking for great BBQ. Broussard's is a winner. We got the baked potato and 3 meat combo with sliced beef, ribs and link; sides rice dressing and green beans. My goodness, this food was delicious and tender. The sauce was sweet, seasoning perfect, didn't oversalt. The baked potato is the best I've ever had at a BBQ place. Lots of leftovers. Try it.
Broussard's Barbecue offers a delightful taste of authentic Southern BBQ. The smoky ribs are tender, the chicken was moist, and the brisket melts in your mouth. We ordered rice dressing and baked beans which complement the mains perfectly. Their house made sauce was delicious. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere make it a must-visit for BBQ lovers. Highly recommended!
Picked up a party tray for my office and Broussard’s absolutely killed it!! The party tray included brisket, ribs, links, and boudin. Ordered with a small tray of potato salad and baked beans and came with two loaves of bread. My office absolutely loved everything and kept eating way after they were all full. And their bbq sauce was definitely on point. And not to mention their customer service was superb. Will definitely be back for more….get there early as they get a line and for good reason.
Having eaten here in years! The food was so nostalgic! The barbequed link was perfect! The ribs were not all that tender but they were still good. Not too small or spicy. The dirty rice was soooo good! The sweet potato pie was to die for. The smells coming from the box was amazing! It had the entire car smelling like links for hours! I would definitely recommend this place for sure! They did not disappoint! The know how to get you right! Will definitely be back soon!
2/3/26 Purchased a link and dirty rice. Link was too spicy and the dirty rice was awful! Using Savories dressing mix would have been better tasting.
Bought slices sandwich and boudion... Boudion is spicy.. told them no spicy.. and brisket is overcooked dry and full of fatty meat and will not go there again.. it's my first time eat there..wasted $$.
The Sauce is terrific. I saw somewhere there was outside dining with a fireplace, there is outside dining, but no fireplace and not exactly romantic. No inside dining available. To be honest I think it would be excellent if they used better quality meats. Music was loud for my taste. Busy with lots of people getting to go orders.
I called in my order while sitting in the driveway at 10:45 am lady told me that it would be ready at 11:10 am because they didn’t open until 11. I was ok with that how ever it is now 11:35 am and I’m just getting my food. Everyone that arrived after me got Served before me and I really didn’t appreciate the ladies tone over the phone. It was like she had a attitude instead of It being a Welcome attitude almost isn’t. She didn’t wanna be there. Had I known the type of service I was gonna get before hand I would’ve never tipped I spent $$45 and was completely mishandled. The food is OK but they need to work on Service.
I decided to stop here after I got off of work and I got a 2 meat plate with sausage links, sliced beef, dirty rice and baked beans and it was pretty good just would puffer the beans being cooked in the smoker but they were still good! It was the first time I've ever had smoked sausage where the casing came apart from the sausage and to the point that I couldn't bite thru it and I didn't like that they didn't have pulled pork but but the sliced beef was good!
I live out of state and Broussard’s is always on the list of stops when in town. This is the second time I’ve had the bbq links since the change in ownership. Not only is the taste not the same, it’s pretty unpleasant compared to the original owners recipe. As much as I crave a link when visiting, I will not buy from Broussard’s again after patronizing for decades. Bring back the original recipe. What’s served now tastes like the owner cut costs to get an inferior product. There was gristle in it. That was a first. I could not finish the link. That is also a first.
I ordered a lb. of brisket and a sausage link. First off I asked to taste the sausage before I bought it and the young lady said I couldn't. I see why it would've been impossible cut into it. The meat of the link was like mush . I was actually wondering if it had been cooked. I chewed on the skin all the way back to Houston......if you try to swallow the casing you'll probably choke ( no exaggeration). As for the brisket it didn't have a lick of smoke . Smoke ring was nonexistent. It seemed like it was cooked in the oven or put on the pitt but wrapped up the entire time . It was a teachable moment for me.......
I don't like dumping on nobody. But hopefully this will be constructive. I have been stopping at here for years and been bragging on this place mostly the links since my first stop. But seams like something has changed me and my new wife (bragging) stopped 3 weeks ago she went ot order got the bags we left on the way to LA open the bag no links and baby back ribs ask her you did say regular pork ribs didn't you yes her food was disappointing but even before that stop I had the link the stop before not got but let it slide. Now on the way home today had a craving to try again stopped by got out and ordered my self my said she will pass I should have listened. I ordered a beef link she automatically gave me a sandwich ok man was I disappointed I told her something is wrong with this the meat was mushy and had a different taste the casing was unbreakable could be used by MacGyver as a emergency rope. I called back and lady acted nonchalant I let the guy who make the links know now I understand why after I seen all the other reviews my advice GO BACK TO WHAT MADE YOU ALL THESE YEARS. You don't need a new drive-thru if their no customers and I have never pulled up there and been the only customer something going on.
The ribs was very tuff meat was stuck on the bone and very cold . I was very disappointed, I they was getting better since the owner took over a year ago. I just got a rib and link combo and the ribs was so dry and hard , they need to watch some of these barbecue cooking shows the is supposed be tender all most falling off the bone. Not making me lose teeth.
Coming to the drive thru window to let us know something instead of waiting more than 10minutes in drive thru when we have to return to work is not cool. Does the owner know this is going on? Let your customers know of the situation so we can properly navigate what is best for the us. We left and went to Gerard's barbecue.
I’m going to be absolutely truthful. I am surprised the people that pulled up, did, after having tasting this food for the first time. I ordered the 3 meat plate included with 2 sides. My meats and sides of choice are as follows: link, beef brisket, and chicken with potato salad and baked beans. The only thing I enjoyed was the sides and the sliced bread. Typically when a BBQ place is offering links, it doesn’t have the texture of a potted meat boudin - those links are as soft as mashed potatoes. Then the brisket has a spicy kick to it which is not bad but even the brisket is like woodchips and I ordered marble. The chicken had an old taste to it like it had been sitting out today or warmed up from yesterday. It’s a pretty atmosphere and I think the covered seating is awesome but of course you will have flies sitting outside but in even this the covered seating area is directly next to a dump; so enjoy your bbq next to the place you throw your plate away. Also I love bbq but I’m a person that likes to try a bbq places bbq sauce and instead of them offering it in a tube or in a packet or in a small container on the side they smother it in their sauce which in my opinion was ALSO not good. I mustered to eat most of it because my in laws paid for it but if not I would have asked for a complete full refund. I wouldn’t have gone past the first bite. AND that’s not it. I asked for 4 cups of ice and was charged $5. I was not expecting to pay for what most of not all restaurants will give you for free but if they’re not catching the traction they need I see why they need to charge for ice cups. I am overall disappointed in trying this place and I’m disappointed in the people waiting in the line who lied to me saying it was good! How dare you! Great staff though.
I stopped there to get some fresh, chopped brisket for my potato soup just to get home and find it drowning in BBQ sauce. Plain chopped brisket was all I asked for. No sides, not for a sandwich. Our dinner is ruined now. Do not recommend.
I was happy to go to Broussard lil did i know theres a new owner. I ordered the 2 meat plate with green beans rice dressing brisket and a link. The green beans were cooked well but NO seasoning. The rice dressing had NO seasoning. The link tasted very weird. The brisket was hard. I was very disappointed with this food. The new owners need to step there game up and SEASONING there food. As i was waiting on my food two of the workers were outside having a argument. They were cussing and a fussing in front of customers. I will never eat here again. I wasted my money.
A great bbq spot when passing through Beaumont. You won’t be disappointed! ***** This review entry (11/3/2024) is an update after change of ownership. My first entry, bragging on this establishment was 2-yrs ago. * I really hate giving bad reviews but this one cannot be avoided. I ordered a sliced beef sandwich and received what can only be described as a boiled meat and grease sandwich. I will never order from this establishment again. I would have given a better review if the sandwich was presented better, but this was prepared with no concern for customer satisfaction. Terrible. Horrible.
