Still as awesome as 10 years ago. Loved to come back! Such great prices, tasty and the most caring service.
My favorite sushi place. Rolls are fresh and delicious. Grilled squid is the best!
The sushi here was amazing! We especially liked the 280 roll but honestly everything we got was great!
Good place to try Japanese food. Its in the Belmont village shopping center . There is a huge parking lot to use it. Food got served in time and tastes awesome .
Great local sushi place, bento box good!
Nice Japanese restaurant with great food and friendly service.
Delicious! Great to see the dining room open and everyone enjoying the food and atmosphere!
My brother and I were in from out of town trying to decide between a few restaurants, and were both SUPER glad we chose Sushi Kuu. We each got Curry Ramen (pork and chicken katsu) and split a NewNew Roll. The roll was awesome, perfect balance of flavors. But the ramen absolutely stole the show. The curry broth was insanely delicious. I would consider flying across the country again to get a quart container of it. HIGHLY recommend this spot.
Very good service and the food are fresh and delicious
Love Sushi Kuu, best short ribs around. Rolls always taste fresh. Great service.
Love the Food. The rolls are great, well balanced.
Love their food and hospitality. They value our business & remember your name. Offering great sushi and we love the combos for an affordable fare.
I’m a big fan… probably come once a week 80% of the time for the past five years. Current ownership has been here the past two years and are doing great. Nigiri and rolls are consistently solid. Google messed up their entry and as a result, Sishi Kuu lost all of their history which was well-deserved. If you’re not familiar, check it out, you’ll eat well.

Great little Japanese restaurant in the Carlmont shopping center. The inside has 7 tables plus two counters for dining. The table staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant is open later than other restaurants in the area. The goths here are the chicken teriyaki, the gal bi ribs and the four seasons roll.

Sushi Kuu has a nice variety of dishes. Among them, they offer 2- and 3-item bento boxes with a good selection of options. I appreciate that they don’t put limitations by having customers choose one item from one column and another item from another column. You can choose anything on their list. I had the bento box with saba shioyaki, miso salmon, and chicken katsu. My son had the bento box with beef short ribs, tonkatsu, and spicy tuna roll. We really liked them. Service was excellent!

Really good neighborhood sushi, even better and more consistent than some old school San Mateo joints. My girlfriend really appreciated the smaller size of their sushi rolls - she called its size “just perfect”…
Good Japanese restaurant. Service is great. Staffing is friendly. Menu items can be more better tasting. I guess it's a hit or miss on the food you ordered. Go check other places.

The food is okay, just normal quality Japanese food you can get in the bay area. But I'm surprised that the owner/waitress does not like Asian customer. She's extremely nice to other white customers in the room, but ice-cold or somewhat even rude to us since the minute we walk into the restaurant. Not much service for our table either. She spend most of her time happily chatting with the white family next to us. And yes, she, herself is Asian.

I used to come here and get a couple avocado rolls for my daughter but the last time I went, there were cockroaches inside the rolls when we got them home. We will not be going back. Good luck to all who brave this.
It was just me alone eating there recently when the waiter sexually molested me. Since there was no witnesses and they said the security camera “broke” there was nothing I could do. I would avoid this place and if you have to go def use the buddy system
The Good: 1) The waitress was very polite and refilled the tea quickly. The Bad: (restaurant in general) 1) Tea was cold and weak. 2) We waited a long time to get menus. 3) We were never asked if we wanted a beverage when we finally got menus. 4) It is very noisy inside. Nothing to dampen noise. 5) The Veggie Tempura is not any extra veggies, but just the Mixed Tempura minus the two shrimps, so order the Shrimp Tempura and give the two shrimps to someone who wants it. 6) Our 2 meals came out just under 15 minutes apart. 7) There are no barriers between tables. The Ugly: (food quality and quantity) 1) The Veggie Tempura was under-cooked, overly greasy, and cold. 2) The Chicken Teriyaki had almost no teriyaki sauce, was rubbery, lots of gristle, and was under-cooked. 3) The Miso Salmon wasn't very flavorful, was pretty small, and had negligible sauce. 4) Where other places give 6 or 8 pieces of CA Roll in their Bento dinner, I only got 4. I very rarely write bad reviews, but Sushi Kuu is the worst place I've been to in a very long time.
