This restaurant always gives us fresh and good food, EVERY TIME we go. The employees are always so nice and respectful and the manager April is beyond sweet always goes above and beyond to make sure we get good customer service and amazing food. She is what keeps us coming back every single time, they never disappoint. 10/10 I highly recommend.
Picked up dinner and waited just a little bit for piping hot chicken. The taste was wonderful and the service was outstanding. I would recommend this location to anyone looking to get some chicken. Don't miss the rolls because they're really good too.
The ladies working the Saturday night shift here at Golden Chick are absolute sweethearts, we were treated like royalty,just can't believe how kind and sweet they are, awesome place to eat! definitely recommend stop in order anything and... yeah It's nice to see people who actually enjoy their jobs doing what they do.. Or at least they care enough about people to like treat them really good..

I am a big fan of golden chiks. I have heakth issues and I can wat a variety of things on their menu. Also they are consistent in hiring kind employees. Seems like no matter which location i visit the employees are always kind. The food is always hot. This location is the one I visit the most. I am always greeted and my food is always good. The atmosphere didn't get all the stars just because the lobby is always in need of some attention. But they are also a very very busy location. Thanks Golden Chik. For those of you who follow my reviews remember I am diabetic and have kisney issues and a heart issue. But I can eat the baked chicken, green beans, coleslaw, and catfish here.
Good tasting Chicken & Rolls. Side salad was delicious as well. Friendly, patient staff. Clean dining. Liked being able to Self-serve Tea, Ice, Sodas. This location did however did not have the Soft-Serve Ice Cream --that was disappointing.
4 piece chicken with fries and gravy with drink was more than enough for me. Prices very reasonable. Older bldg but clean area along with clean bathrooms. Staff very friendly too. Update: 4 May, 2024. Haven't been here for awhile. Had to try their new item, Pecan Chicken Salad. Mmmmmm, very delicious. Note: Be careful if you are going to eat inside. They just cleaned 5hr floor. But it is very, very slippery.
The lady at the front counter was very sweet. The staff affectionately called her " grandma." It was clean inside & the pricing was average by today's standards. I really think they are underrated because there are, in fact, so many chicken places in Texas, so they get missed. They could use some interior upgrades ( there was an old Hen egg laying surprise machine non functioning still in the lobby) Our chicken fingers and sides were great!! We love the Macaroni & cheese too!
First time at this Golden Chick. I had a Nashville Hot, wife had a chicken sandwich. When I first looked at mine I didn’t think I’d like it but I loved it! It was tasty even if it didn’t look great. I loved the fries, they were excellent. I didn’t give a fifth star because I had to look for a clean table to sit.
Fast service 👍🏼 but the food was definitely old and not fresh
I like the chain and this location. I tried their fried catfish today, and sadly they apparently use the same batter as for their tenders... wrong target flavor and waaay too salty, imho.
First time going to this Golden Chick and the strips were overly cooked. And we got the soda cups for gravy and mash potatoes, but the mash were cold. Customer service was great though.
Order was wrong! Ordered online Family meal costing 46.00. No okra, no biscuits. I had to go back to get stuff missing! The tenders were the same, not half reg. half spicy. Chicken looked old and soggy! I will never come here again! 46.00 is a lot of money for incorrect order and bad food.
Food was expensive, had a long day and was hoping for some good chicken, paid 18$ for a 6 piece tender combo and the tenders were small, photo has my finger for reference. Might as well have donated my money to charity, steer clear of this place, they straight up rob you in here
I'm a truck driver and sometimes I rely on fast food to get a bite to eat. A friend of mine raved so much about this place so I said let me try it. Worst decision and fish I've ever had in my life. The fish was beyond old, I bit in to hollow breading and every piece was the same and the fried okra were old as well. The dirty rice and cole slaw was very meh. The roll was the star of the show. I can't believe anyone in their right mind thought it was ok to serve this mess. Maybe I would have stood a chance getting chicken instead, I don't know but this experience will definitely deter me from buying anything from here again. Trashed everything but the roll and slaw, I can use the slaw on some hot dogs since Icouldn'tenjoythe whole meal . Very disappointing.
No one has on hair nets, no gloves, even the person battering the chicken. Was told “I didn’t want to hurt anyone” when asked why didn’t I get spicy chicken tenders like I ordered. Gave 2 packets of zing seasoning instead of the right chicken tenders. Fries were thrown in a regular bag. No utensils and we were in the drive thru. Dinner roll wasn’t fresh. The only thing fresh was the gravy I had to go back for. The lady at the front was super nice though. We won’t return to this Benton location.
Went Tuesday night spent $35 food was old. Went Thursday for lunch spent $22 I asked for it to be fresh due to experience Tuesday they said it would be, got home the food was old. I called up there she told me it would be 10 mins and she’d have everything fresh. I drove back up there. Waited 30 mins. Food came out fresh but they poured so much spicy seasoning on the chicken it couldn’t even be eaten. So waste of time and money. Just drive to Harker heights and don’t even waste your time at this location.
Waited 10 minutes to give my order in the drive thru. I was the only person there. Ordered 2 big and wicked combo they ran out of patties and decided to throw 2 tenders between 2 dinner rolls. Threw some fries that were old and smashed in bags. Totally horrible. Will never be back. Disgusting.
