Its all about the food. Decor is comfortably rustic in a setting that is almost more out than in on a warm September evening. A variety of traditional pasta dishes with a very local vibe and seasonal ingredients. The charcuterie and cheese is a delight. I had a pasta dish which was so good I ordered the same again, fortunately the staff were happy to provide a child's portion at a reduced price or I would have exploded. I followed this up with a cheese platter of 6 different local cheeses which I shared with my wife. They were all excellent and craftily arranged in strength order from mild to challenging. Probably the very best cheeses I have eaten in the last 10 years and I love cheese. We had a starting glass of local franciacorta sparkling wine with a bottle of robust local red for the pasta and cheese. Altogether a memorable meal in a memorable place. You can find cheaper places to eat in Bergamo Alta, but I doubt you will find better.

Went to Donizetti at the end of January. The food was spectacular, the local wine pairing was amazing and their desserts oh, but oh so good! We also enjoyed our server who was very nice, on top of things and knowledgeable. Ordered the Casoncelli, the Polenta e formai e speck, and the Spedo di Manzo. Everyone loved their meal!

Very classy wine bar. This is the second premises to the main restaurant / wine bar. Staff were very helpful and kind. Fantastic wine list and we picked our bottle from the shelf. We ordered Parma ham platters, bread and oil, cheese boards, olives etc. I love this place and will definitely return. Met the owner who was lovely. All staff attentive and pleasant. This is what Italy is all about. We were never rushed and left to relax as long as we liked. Don’t change guys 🙏🏼👍🏻❤️

They have clearly worked out that the combination of location, and high quality produce, is a winning one.

A very classy wine bar in Bergamo altra, which is just down from the main piazza and opposite its main restaurant of the same name. The decor is trendy and the service was first class. I tried the local white wines, which were excellent. I didn't eat here, so I can not comment or rate their food. I was, however, given olives and salted almonds free gratis.

We visited 2 years ago, enjoyed our meals, and so we decided to return. This time our service was superb. The waitress was pleasant, attentive, and funny. The food was excellent. My steak, garnished with rock salt which had been roasted in chianti, melted in my mouth. We have dined all over the world, and have eaten in some very elegant places. Waitress was very friendly and polite. pasta with mussels and lasagne we had were way above average, very tasty and nothing to complain about at all. Red Chianti wine amazing. Can only recommend.

Siamo andati per la prima volta in questo delizioso e caratteristico ristorante enoteca di città alta. Oltre all'ambiente e all'atmosfera accogliente ed estremamente piacevole, abbiamo gustato piatti ben eseguiti e rispettosi della tradizione bergamasca. Servizio attento e cortese e buona cantina. Abbiamo preso gli gnocchi alla crema di piselli con olio alla menta ed i fusilli al ragù e salsiccia. Porzioni giuste sapori delicati anche se non indimenticabili. Il locale si trova nel cuore della città alta di bergamo quindi il prezzo è decisamente elevato ma compensato in parte dall’atmosfera e dalla location suggestiva. Nel complesso un'esperienza piacevole!

Abbiamo pranzato sotto la loggia e la location è senz'altro attraente e rilassante. Abbiamo consumato un primo, linguine alla Donizetti con barbabietole e gorgonzola che sono state una piacevole scoperta, e un'insalata Donizetti con lattuga, mele, mandorle, crema di barbabietola e vinegrette al passion fruit. Le porzioni non ci sono parse particolarmente abbondanti. In aggiunta ai due piatti che allego in foto abbiamo preso una bottiglia di acqua minerale e due caffè; il totale è stato di € 57,00. Lascio al lettore il giudizio sulla congruità del prezzo pagato.

Ristorante accogliente che offre ampia scelta di vini e buon cibo. La nota che un pochino stona sono i prezzi del cibo che sono un po' più alti rispetto ad altri locali vicini e, anche rapportati al prezzo del vino si spende più di cibo che di Vino.

Passeggiando per Bergamo alta ci siamo fermati per il pranzo.. ambiente accogliente.. personale attento e cordiale.. abbiamo mangiato piatti tipici della zona con prodotti di qualità e una vasta gamma di vini da degustare .. prezzi un po' elevati.. nel complesso consigliato..

Ambiente pulito, ben tenuto... Personale molto cortese, simpatico e attento... Cucina tradizionale veramente buona e selezione di vino basta.

We sat outside for an aperitif but then decided on a light dinner based on our interaction with the staff. Food and drinks were good and we enjoyed the surroundings. Prices are a bit steep for the area including a 7€ per person Coperto which is very high!

The food is really good! The service was superb as well and eating in the vine garden had a great atmosphere. I defintely recommend eating here. The prices are ok but maybe a bit to high but I guess those are average prices for such a touristic area in Bergamo, so its still a recommendations when in bergamo

Food was great and i had a cocktail here too, people saying it is expensive need to remember this is in a very touristic area and the prices are higher because of this. The quallity makes up for it and if price is not your biggest concern i would recommend going here. Syafg was helpful and respectful.

Relaxing atmosphere, outdoor seating area good for lunch. Friendly staff, good service. Our dishes were delicious. Especially wow factor for the fish dish we ordered, seasonal menu suited for the early summer, and definitely creative to the eye and taste buds! Bravo chef! Cake was of authentic flavor that reminded us of the good old traditional Festival times. Had a nice time there with girlfriend. :-)

Alla ricerca di un locale tipico a Bergamo Alta siamo finiti a pranzo in questo posto. Visto da fuori si nota un po' di confusione: non si capisce bene se si tratta di un bar, di una pasticceria o di un ristorante. Ci accomodiamo e veniamo accolti con gentilezza dal personale. Il menù mi ha un po' spiazzato: mi aspettavo più cose tipiche e locali, ed invece, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i secondi, ho trovato dei piatti che avrei potuto trovare ovunque. Fortunatamente c'era un fuori menù che lo era! In definitiva il menù risulta un po' scarso, ma tra le "poche" portate proposte c'è da dire che la qualità è elevata. La carta dei vini fa semplicemente paura: infinita. Non posso che farvi i miei complimenti. Il conto è assolutamente in linea con il cibo servito.

Non posso dire di aver pranzato male, ma i prezzi sono spropositati per quello che si mangia. E arrivo da Milano centro, che non è esattamente un posto economico! Sia chiaro, i prezzi di questo locale sono allineati agli altri ristoranti vicini - motivo per cui ci siamo fermati qui, visto che c'era ancora posto, mentre altri erano già pieni. Il problema è che quando vedi certi prezzi, le aspettative si alzano. Ed invece i prezzi sono alti solo per la legge della domanda e dell'offerta, tutto qua: tanti turisti sprovveduti (come noi!) e pochi ristoranti. Ma davvero non mi aspettavo che Bergamo alta avesse i prezzi di Venezia (anzi, sinceramente a Venezia ho speso meno per pari qualità e tipologia di locale ma posizione migliore)

Personale incompetente: ho richiesto se ci fosse presenza di formaggio in un piatto (sono intollerante al lattosio) e la cameriera mi ha spiegato che “dipende”. Perciò ho domandato da cosa dipendesse e lei, titubante, mi ha risposto “è a discrezione dello chef, facciamo che oggi c’è”. Io non ho parole, non la ritengo una risposta professionale. Oltretutto a una delle mie amiche non è arrivato un piatto. Dopo averlo fatto notare, il cibo è arrivato ma ormai noi altre avevamo finito di pranzare. Il personale non si è nemmeno degnato di chiedere scusa. Perlomeno il cibo era buono.

Domenica 18 Settembre 2022 Camminando per Bergamo alta abbiamo incrociato questo ristorante/pasticceria che ha una struttura molto particolare e antica. Decidiamo di optare per un aperitivo visto che il ristorante era molto affollato. Location accattivante, ma notiamo che il servizio al tavolo tarda ad arrivare. Dopo una attesa esagerata e dopo che ci siamo più volte alzati per chiedere di ordinare ai vari camerieri, riusciamo ad ordinare prima da bere. E attendiamo altro tempo per poter ordinare i “cicchetti”. La qualità dei drink è buona, ma la qualità e la quantità dei nostri cicchetti è misera (cicchetti che abbiamo pagato in aggiunta all’aperitivo). Insoddisfatti dei cicchetti abbiamo poi chiesto se era possibile ricevere almeno delle patatine e delle olive(che sono in seguito arrivati al tavolo). Sinceramente sono delusa, perché pur avendo tante potenzialità, questo posto nel concreto é tutto fumo.

Avevamo pranzato anni fa in questo ristorante e ci eravamo trovati bene. Essendo di Bergamo, qualche settimana fa ci siamo fermati per un aperitivo senza troppe pretese.La sorpresa al pagamento del conto, esorbitante, per due aperitivi accompagnati da nulla. Quel che ha stupito è che prezzi applicati erano diversi da quelli a listino per un servizio ad un tavolino praticamente in mezzo alla strada con la gente che passa. Prezzi assolutamente normali in locali esclusivi di Milano o di Roma, ma non in un posto del genere. È una trappola per turisti da spennare ma dalla quale i bergamaschi è bene che si guardino dal cascarci. Da evitare.

I went today with my girlfriend because we didn't have another choice (all restaurants in the area were full) and ordered 2 plates of pasta, 1 glass of wine (15 euros/glass not something fancy) and 1 bottle of tap water. We were waiting outside in the cold for 15 mins for the waiters to clean the table inside (acceptable they are trying to do their job) and put us in the worst possible place (first restaurant in my life wich THEY chose where I'm going to sit). Plates were good and the wine was tasty but the bill was ridiculously large. I'm not the type of person who is gonna complain about the price, let alone in front of my girlfriend but they made me felt like a stupid tourist who came in their restaurant to give my money and leave. I saw some other reviews about secret charges and guess what. NOONE KNEW ABOUT THEM. As Greek in another country I'm respectful and polite (I know that we are not the most polite people but I kept my calm and stayed polite even after the bill) but some things are unacceptable. So in three languages I'm telling you SIETE INQUALIFICABILI, YOU ARE UNACCEPTABLE, ΕΙΣΤΕ ΑΠΑΡΑΔΕΚΤΟΙ. I know that this review is gonna be taken down but the restaurant need to hear this, Bergamo deserves better places that this...

Terrible service. We were cheerful and simply having a good time, but the waitress suggested that we were drunk and shouldn’t order a second Aperol. It was a very unpleasant experience – something like this has never happened to me before in a restaurant. Definitely not recommended.
