The owners [? at least the very kind 어머니] offered tea to go, when we had missed the hours to eat in & was very understanding, gentle, & gracious. We had a rough day & she was awesome. Thanks, Auntie. 2nd review: Uncle that makes Kawaii Sushi is so cool and kind. Very hospitable, skilled chef!! We had the most delicious mountain of food here. Thanks again, Spoon!

Food was wonderful. We stumbled upon this spot and was happy to see every table had lots of food filled to every edge. The food was piping hot and quickly made. Seems like they run pretty bare bones serving inside and out but the staff were as attentive as they could be given how busy of a night it was. Nearly forgot my leftovers and the server came after us to make sure we got it before leaving. Would definitely go back for more.

Wow, have not been here in a while and shame on me. Fantastic, delicious, and satisfying!! On the door they advertised some fresh toro tuna, sublime and thick slices that cut with a spoon. Meal comes with a six dish assortment of pickled and marinated vegetable sides and a hot small soup with seaweed, a big hit on a cold day. Got a spicy rice cake drenched with a great spicy broth and slices of fish cake. That would make a meal but I needed more and also got the dolsot bibimbop, rice dish with assorted vegetable in a hot stone bowl that sears and gives the rice a crunchy crust. I got that with spicy pork belly slices. Another outstanding dish. The server was very attentive and everyone all smiles. 5 stars and I will be back

Taste as good as it looks, when the meat is cooked correctly it just about perfect! They give you the whole spread of sides and generous portions! Also a decent beer selection🫡 Great location right off of San Pablo and close to the climbing gym. Deff worth a quick visit or a big meal. Try all the pickles/Kimchi Upon a second visit I second my judgement it holds up!

The garlic soy chicken wings wàs yummy with a nicely crisped outside, succulent meat inside and a delicious garlicky sweet sauce. The Stone Bibimbop was just ok. It wasn't as flavorful and the rice was not as crispy as I have had at other places. Service was good and there was outside seating under the olive trees if you prefer.

This place is a solid Korean restaurant. They stay true to their flavors and items. However, I was a surprised that their banchan was not in their best quality. The prices were a bit high for their offerings. Nonetheless, I recommend getting the kimbap. It’s filling and pairs well with the tteokbeokki. The service is great and the owner is friendly and cares about his business. They served somaek, which is beer and soju. We got to try a new beer called Krush and it pairs well with soju, I recommend having it with your food. The atmosphere was good. They played KPOP music videos, which is great if you’re a fan. We sat in the main dining room with the cashier, but the back of the house had more of a restaurant/bar feel. Overall, I would come back again, but I will be prepared to spend a pretty penny.

Pretty much every single item was along the lines of what you could find in a typical Korean restaurant, except for I thought the dishes were slightly less flavorful from what I have had elsewhere, but they were still good, so I think overall I could give a 4 out of 5 in terms of rating! I have tried the seafood pancakes, the kimbop, and the dolsot bibimbap. Like I had mentioned, they were all pretty standard and lacked a bit of flavor. I don't recall the bibimbop having enough gochujang or maybe even any, and I would've loved some. The seafood pancakes tasted like it didn't have enough seasoning, but the texture was as good as it could be. Overall I still enjoyed everything and would recommend this spot to people. I am fairly certain that there are more than enough Korean restaurants around the Berkeley area and I have not had any other ones yet, but I definitely liked Spoon enough to return if needed.

Sorry guys and gals, I know " Crash Landing on You" is like one of the best Korean shows ever made right? I simply can't get into watching it! Maybe it's too "cheesy"? However, I'm always up to eating some cheesy corn and a hot bowl of kim chi stew! Spoon is a great spot in Berkeley for some casual Korean food. Good soups to warm the tummy and the soul. Order some deep fried wings and wash it down with bottle of Terra beer! Lots of patio sitting and indoor sitting as well that's great for the warmer days we've been having.

I used to come here regularly because it was good and convenient. I came recently and noticed a different menu with different prices. Unfortunately, I had the most watery, tasteless tofu stew I’ve ever had in my entire life 🙁 Tastewise it could have been colored water instead of broth. I asked the waiter about it (I never am that person, but it was so bad). The waiter said they were trying a new recipe! I told him the old recipe was much better. In the meantime, I won’t be back because it’s not cheap and I don’t want to risk it
